@AndyC: The current Godzilla's first appearance was in 1991, so a bit later then Heisei Goji, and events from there were indeed different. You can keep anything that's not a direct reference to any film continuity.

@AndyC: The timeline is mostly pretty open, the main things are Godzilla's appearance(both the original and current one) and the fact that Gotengo and JAGUAR are both very recent.

I'm willing to work with anyone on timeline stuff.

I believe I have a general concept for my character down, likely a part of the Gotengo bridge crew. If you'd like them to coordinate the weapon systems (Chief Weapons Officer?), then that could work as them taking orders from the captain and then relaying said orders to the appropriate teams elsewhere on the ship.

Hey, so how restricted to realism are we? Like I can see two psychic characters and laser weaponry, so obviously there are some sci fi elements at play.
Because I had an idea inspired by this D&D homebrew.
So here’s my pitch.
A soldier that has been experimented on with Kaiju biological material. Probably Stem Cells from a fallen Kaiju that was pregnant at the time of its defeat. He would inherit a few abilities from Kaiju, but most notably, he would become a living nuclear reactor. He would function as the brain and power specs for a new prototype mech to combat Kaiju.
Ad he biologically functions as a nuclear reactor, producing mass amounts of energy, he solves the issue of finding a suitable, sustainable energy source for the project.
Thoughts?

@VitaVitaAR I'm curious about the nature of the main kaiju in this setting, seeing as how there have been many, many different iterations of the King of the Monsters. Are they mutated prehistoric creatures awakened by man? Things willed into existence by the planet itself to act like white blood cells? Or are they borderline eldritch entities?

@JDubs: If we're talking about kaiju in general, their origins vary depending on which one they are. Some are at least seemingly "natural" creatures, while others are mutations(Godzilla very likely being a mutated dinosaur much like in Heisei), and still others might have other origins.

That’s all good. I’ll start work on a guy who leads a squad of smaller scale mechs and their supporting teams.
Colloquially called a HARM (Heavy Armament) Squad, these Mecha and their pilots specialise in rapid response. Taking the fight to a Kaiju before it makes landfall or reaches a densely populated area. They lack the strength to drop a Kaiju, but are meant to hold them back to buy enough time for a large contingent of tanks to get in formation, and/or the Gotengo to get in position to fire more devastating attacks.

@Sanity43217: That's actually more or less what the JAGUAR prototype currently is, albeit there's only one right now but it can effectively fight smaller kaiju.

It might be a good idea to angle for that instead?
