Cozy Fantasy RP
Synopsis:
You've been lost for a while now, haven't you? Walking, wandering and meandering, endlessly and pointlessly. Perhaps you were driven from your old home by some outside force, perhaps you were cast out by those you called family, friends and neighbours. Perhaps a foreign power seized control and ran you and the other locals out, or perhaps you just wanted to see the the great world beyond. Your reasons are your own, and they don't matter in the grand scheme of things. All that matters, is that you've been without a proper place to call your own for a while now.
However, for a while now, something's changed for you. It started weak and subtle at first, like a distant whisper on the wind, barely even noticeable. Yet as time has gone on, whatever it is has grown, and now you swear you can hear it - whatever it is - calling you, tuging at you, directing you... Like an unhearable voice and invisible hand, both guiding your steps. But to where? You do not know. At least you didn't, until today. After having given in to the strange urge and strange call, you've finally made you way to where it wanted you to travel.
And it's here you've found it.
A place you feel in your bones, your heart and your very soul, you could finally call home. ... ... But... It looks like it could use some TLC... 'Cuz that wall's about to come down... And is that a crow's nest sticking outta the chimney? Wait... That roofs got more holes in it than a slice of cheese! ... What is this dump!?
Overview:
Welcome to this Roleplay, inspired by (primarily) Rune Factory, along with things like Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, Gravekeeper as well as series like Farming Life in ANother World and other cozy life-sim-type stuff. In this particular story, you'll be taking on the role of a wanderer, vagabond, exile or other person who, for one reason or another, left their old home and began travelling the world. But a mysterious calling eventaully drew you - and the rest of the cast - towards a specific spot, where you all discovered...!
... A run-down, collapsing and mostly ruined old hamlet. Like, there are about two buildings in the entire place that's still standing and could be considered 'whole', the rest are just rotted-through, falling apart of already crumbled-in-on-themselves. But despite this, something deep inside you is urging and telling you that this, this is the place where you can feel at home and like you belong. It just needs a bit of elbow-grease and good, stout, hard labor to get things up and running again.
And that's what this RP's going to be a about. Restoring an old and mysteriously off-the-map village. You'll need to tear down or repair the buildings that're falling apart, build your own individual homes and frunish them, get some local industry and services going, attract new settlers (if you want more people), explore the surounding area, gather materials, hunt beasts and monsters... You know, everyday life in a fantasy world where the goal isn't to save the world from the reincarnated Demon King.
For those who worry that there won't be anything other than farming, ranching and socializing to do, fretr not. Nearby locations include magic forests, old dungeons, abandoned mine(s) and other things to explore and delve into, as well as monsters to face or defend yourself from. It's going to be a cozy RP, but with the option of doing some classic fantasy adventuring if that's what you feel like. Just don't expect some big, world-ending scenario to unfold out here in the boonies.

Notes:
I'm looking for a group of between 4 to 7 players, at the most. Maybe 8, but that's the very top, max limit of people I'm willing to take on. I don't want to this to get blown up or overpopulated.
While there won't be a post-echedule or anything of that, I will expect everyone who joins to be able to post at least once every week. It doesn't have to be a big, massive, multi-paragraph post, but we need to have some form of activity of some kind. Even if your character's just sitting on their proch, in a rocking chair, smoking a pipe. That's totally fine, just something to let us know you're still around.
Please avoid making characters who're serial killers, psychopaths, overly anti-social or otherwise just wouldn't fit into the setting and feel of the RP. While I usually go for a "first come, first serve" mentality on my RPs, I'm going to be a bit more selective with who I accept into this RP. I'm not saying you need to create a Goody-goody who loves everyone, but I do want you to keep in mind that this isn't a gritty, grimdark setting where everything's doom and gloom either. Also, do try to keep your character within the younger age demographic, teen to young adult. As being a grizzled, world-travelled veteran who's a jack/jill-of-all-trades would be a bit against the spirit of the game.
Expanding on the topic of characters; players will also be limited to one character per person. While I can understand the want to play multiple toons, I prefer people to focus on and develop a singular character. Because it usually results in a more detailed and consistant individual/personality.
While I mentioend that there's no overhanging, world-consuming plot to worry about, there will still be events and incidents that happen to the village, or its surroundings. So there'll be things to do and investigate that have a bit of story or plot to them. You can also feel free to suggest your own ideas and story-arcs for things and stuff to happen. After all, spice of life and all that.
If you've read this far, good on you. I hope that what you've seeen so far has interested, or at least amused, you. If you've got questions or any other thoughts, please feel free to leave them below and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Let's strike the earth, together! :)
