Name: Gyran Rockbell
Alias: Ozymandias
Race: Elf
Age: 43
Gender: Male
Profession/Role/Position: Founding member, appointed leader of Operation Freedom.
Appearance: Gyran can be an intimidating fellow, if you don’t know him. He has a sizeable beard, and long hair. His preferred dress is black, and leather. The elf has two identical tattoos on either side of his nose, and a single piercing on his right ear, while his left has two. His eyes seem to be an unnatural shade of blue. Gyran is tall, and thin. He’s clearly proud of his non-human heritage, keeping his hair behind his pointy ears at all times to showcase his race.
Equipment: In the saddlebag of Gyran’s motorcycle, you would be able to find a laptop. The laptop is obviously military-grade, with an extremely hard shell. Gyran also keeps a very small USB drive with him at all times, when inserted into any computer (mainly intended for his own should things go awry), will erase all data within seconds. The elf carries a large buck knife with him as well, along with a fully loaded .38 special revolver. He carries about 25 extra bullets in his pockets, as well as another 100 in one of his saddle bags. Some of the rounds he carries with him are enchanted to pack a bigger punch by using the ignition of the firing mechanism to heat up the round exponentially, while still keeping it cool enough to stay in one piece. This makes the round double as armor-piercing, and incendiary. Clearly not for humanoid targets.
Implants: Gyran has an augmatory implant in both eyes, as well as attached to the occipital lobe on his brain. This allows him to magnify his sight to an astonishing degree. It also allows him to monitor the vital signs of those he looks at. He uses this unique implant’s ability to monitor the intentions of others, and while it doesn’t always work, the body almost never lies.
Magic: Gyran’s magical abilities are purely defensive. He has the ability to conceal himself, using illusionary magic. This could have the effect of making him blend in with his environment, or make himself seem like someone else entirely. He is also able to form a makeshift icewall quickly, which is enough to stop small arms and weaker magic. Gyran can also use healing magic, for minor or major wounds, however major healing requires major stamina, and it’s unlikely that he’ll be very useful if he uses his greater healing magics to heal a mortal wound.
Personality: He doesn’t like to show it, but Gyran is a caring individual. Otherwise he wouldn’t put everything on the line to free the population from government and corporate oppression. Of course that also comes with a price, as sometimes sacrifices have to be made. In his mind though every sacrifice made, every resistance member who dies, contributes to the overall cause. And even if hundreds die through cause and effect at his hands, good or bad, at the end of the day they will all have been to accomplish something, to see it any other way would mean those that died had to do so in vain. Even then, Gyran tries to keep casualties to a minimum. Their goal is change, not destruction.
Bio: Very little is known about Gyran and his heritage. Some who know him say he has been a freedom fighter in different parts of the world for over fifteen years, others suggest this is his first attempt at making a real change in the way the government operates. Some argue with his methods, but it’s hard to suggest they aren’t effective. His methods don’t seem to include specifically violence, but he’s known to employ such tactics when the situation demands it.
One thing is certain of Gyran, he let’s no one step over him and his “family”. While most who don’t know his real profession might just label him as a loner-type biker, he’s much more than that. At first, Gyran fought against the notion that he could lead a whole movement, however circumstance chose it for him. It seemed as if he was the only one capable of uniting so many freedom fighters under the same banner. But soon Gyran would learn he was the only one able to do the job.
Reluctantly, he accepted the overwhelming responsibility. Having so many lives in one’s hands is truly a humbling experience. He could make a wrong decision one day and the whole movement could be torn apart; and it would be all his fault. But if he could keep the network just underground enough to recruit new boots, yet active enough to take a stand against the government, they could have a serious impact on the Republic.
Gyran made sure measures were taken place to prevent a collapse of the whole movement. It was decided that there will be no ‘home base’, there will be no ‘secret gatherings’. All is communicated via concrete messaging. No computers, no bullshit. Thus, secret notes and coded messages are the way information gets around in OF. That way, all parts can act seemingly independently, so if one arm were to fall, the others could remain intact.
Misc: Gyran spends most of his time at the Underhill Motorcycle Club.
Company/Organization: Operation Freedom
