Karn
Fiore || Hargeon Town || Harbor >>> Arikalia Estate >>> Train Station Everything was quiet and peaceful, it was nice. It felt warm and safe, like it was back when he was with Ru. He could remember it now. How he'd always curl up against the large beast as a human or as a cat. Enjoying being bundled up against the warm fur, tail wrapped around him protectively to keep him safe and warm even in the thickest of blizzards. It was a time he didn't feel alone, when he wasn't afraid, when he didn't worry about his fate to die. Where he had a family. Master Rian, Ru, and Claire. Together and happy. There was no strange buildings, no people, no laws, no injustice, no worries of the past, just them. Living happily together.
Yet, when his emerald eyes opened, he found a clear blue empty sky, his sweeter memories disappearing from his vision. Leaving only harsh reality. Blinking slowly, he found the bundle of large fur that belonged to Ru, resting on top of him, covering him entirely except the head. The empty skull resting beside the blonde's on the sandy beach. Karn didn't wished to move away from the warmth, but slowly he sat up to examine his surroundings.
What had happened? He had gotten mad.... and destroyed the ship. Falling into the water and passing out. He thought for sure he would have died, and joined his mother in the sea. Yet it did not seem to happen. Had Ru protected him from drowning? No, he was gone. Nothing left in life other then his skin. Perhaps he had just gotten lucky once more, or had gotten so afraid he lost his mind to save himself. He didn't feel that tired though. Sure, the effects of using Eastern Chimera magic was still there, his frail body having difficulties handling it. But it wasn't so bad. Maybe then, Ru's spirit was still watching over him, protecting him.
Reality sunk in as he looked to the fur, gingerly holding the massive hollowed skull. Feeling tears well up in his emerald eyes, dripping down his cheeks and falling upon the fallen beast's muzzle.
"Why? Why did you leave? Why did you and Rian leave me? I... I thought I would see you again and we could... be together again... Why? Why did you die and leave me all alone again? I.... I'm so lonely.... please... I'm so lost.... I don't know what to do anymore. Everyone at the Guild is so friendly and nice but... I don't think I fit in so well... but you always were there for me. You knew me. You were like my real father... I wish you were. Don't leave me alone......" Karn spoke through choking sobs, allowing himself to simply cry there on the beach. Holding the skin of his father close to his shivering body.
No one was there for him to put on a smile, to assure he was okay and pretend he was strong. For now... he could just cry. And when he returned, he'd be okay for everyone. It will be alright. He had to be strong, he had to. Otherwise he was a disappointment. A failure to everyone.
Sitting there, bundled in Ru's fur like a kitten attempting to cuddle up against its mother, Karn stayed their and sobbed into the warm fur. It was cold though, compared how it was when he was alive.
Karn didn't know how long he stayed there. It could of been seconds, minutes, hours.... he didn't know. All he knew was that his heart ached and his eyes throbbed and burned from the amount of crying he did. All the way until he ran out of tears in his body. No matter how much he searched and yearned for comfort, Ru wasn't able to grant that anymore. Slowly, Karn struggled to his feet, heaving the huge pile of fur in his arms before he started walking. It was way bigger than him, but he struggled to keep it from touching the ground as he walked along.
What was he to do? The job was to return Arikalia's rare item. But that rare item was the skin of his adoptive father. How could he just give it away like some sort of trophy? Would the Guild be disappointed in him if he failed the job? It seems his job record hasn't been so well at this rate. Yet, he had to confront his family. Not as Maddox, if he was going to question them and take Ru's fur... then he had to do it himself. Just in case something bad happened. Karn was technically, stealing a item by law at least. It wasn't like fighting for people though, people would just think that this is just over a beast. Not over human lives possibly in danger like those in the Council. Or Wes in another world. No... people.. wouldn't think twice on this. Just because Ru was considered just a mindless beast. So if he was arrested for this, so be it.
Reaching back to the mansion, Karn took slow strides toward the front doors. Feeling his heart pound with each step he took, Karn took a deep breath, rubbing his reddened eyes as he attempted to seem a bit more confident. Pounding his fist against the door, the loud bang causing the blonde to jump a little as he realized how hard he hit it. It was a accident, he didn't mean to use that much strength in it. Yet it got the job done as the butler from before opened the door before looking surprise as he had to look down a little to see the face of the blonde before looking to the fur.
"Ah, are you from another Guild young lady? Seems you got the job done quicker then supposedly the great Blink. Oh well, as those say... you snooze, you lose. Now please hand me the fur and I shall pay..." The butler started before jumping as a fist slammed sideways against the door on the left.
Karn's emerald eyes glared up at the butler at his words, a soft instinctive growl emerging from his throat.
"Where is Erik?" the blonde said slowly, his fist sparking with a few golden flames, causing the butler to shiver and back away a little. In which Karn slowly strided inside, feeling the hair stand on the back of his neck as old familiar scents entered his nose.
Soon enough, a voice called out, seeming to be surprised.
"Maria? Maria is that you?" A older man said with short auburn colored hair and a neatly cut beard and wearing a brown suit. His blue eyes staring in utter shock at the sight of the blonde before him. Shakily walking closer, the older man tried reaching out.
Tensing as his eyes widened at the sight of the hand. Memories flashing in his mind on how a outstretched hand clasped around his throat and shoved him beneath water so many times. Causing him to flinch back in fear and taking a step back. The man looked confused before a younger man came forth, looking similar to the older man but was younger and only had a light stubble of a beard on his chin. The young man was bigger and muscular, wearing a beige suit. Broad shoulders, and thick muscles.
The opposite of Karn.
Erik Arikalia looked just as shocked as their father, but his blue eyes soon calmed. Seeming to just stare through his younger brother, just like they always did. As Erik seemed to reach out for the fur, Karn snarled and took another step back.
"Where did you get this?" Karn asked slowly, trying to stay calm, but his brother only blinked slowly. Not talking to him, not answering, just... like he wasn't even there.
"It can't be... you're dead.... I.... You're a ghost." Erik's father spoke up as he stared at Karn in utter terror before he quickly turned to the butler and pointed to Karn.
"G-Get this monster out of here!" The older auburn haired man ordered.
As the butler approached the blonde, Karn growled before transforming in his Chimera form. Causing those around him to gasp and take a step back as a massive beast took the place of the small blonde. Growling to the butler, he flicked his tail lightly against him and knocking him on his ass before charging. Slamming his paws against his biological father's and older brother's chest. Pinning them to the ground with a snarl and giving a frightening roar. His father screamed bloody murder in utter terror, but Erik just looked mildly shocked, that blank uncaring stare remaining the same, despite how they both attempted to struggle out of his grip.
"I am not Maria, I am not my mother. I am your son, your brother. Whether you like it or not I am blood related to this family and I'm not dead yet. Now answer me. Where did you get this fur?" Karn snarled, baring his fangs at them.
Erik said nothing, but his father struggled to answer.
"A-A-A.... S-S-Someone s-s-sold it to us! W-we don't know who but it was a good buy!" he managed to stutter out.
Narrowing his golden eyes, the beast searched for any lies but sensed none so he got up and stormed out, tail lashing from side to side. Ear flicking a little as he heard the butler call after him.
"If you take our property, we will be sure to notify the authority for thievery." the butler said.
Karn paused, but only to glare back at them.
"Go ahead. But I refuse to give Ru to you." he growled before started off running. Bounding through the town at a rapid speed. Slowing to the train station, knowing he couldn't carry this heavy fur by flight.
Sighing, he ignored the people who stared at the massive beast before gasping as he reverted to his human form. Struggling to carry the skin, he went and bought a ticket before getting on the train heading to Magnolia.
Prince
Fiore || River Town @Oblivion666@CaitsAt Zephyr's excited suggestion, Prince chuckled in amusement. The man was always quite excitable but he was fun to be around. They were quite like kindred spirits in a way. Out to have a little fun.
"Mhmm well that magic doesn't change magical power so... yes, you would have the most powerful machine duck probably." the feline chuckled before blinking as a spirit popped up, in which he had to tilt his side in mild surprise as he recognized the figure and the scent of magic.
"Ariel? Geez, just keep bumping into Phoenix Wingers. Never stay out of trouble." he mused with a chuckle, deciding not to really question it before he looked to Zephyr at his suggestion of where the village leader could be.
Humming, the feline shrugged and grinned.
"Well, it sure doesn't hurt to try it out." Prince said as he grinned toward Michael before he started walking through the village, giving a wave without looking behind him.
"Whenever you all are ready and done with magical contracts, feel free to follow before I get jumped by either beautiful women or bandits. Hopefully the first." He called jokenly as he softly laughed.
