Jarvis@ZarkunAs Jack answered, Jarvis said
"this would be better to ask in person, as it involves explain things, and I don't entirely believe Lacrimas are a secure way of communicating" Jarvis said,
"If its not a good time, on of my members is at your hotel, and wishes to ask something of you"Jessie@HatakekuroJessie opened her mouth to speak, perhaps to reasure Ferris that nothing had Happened, beyond fumbling. But then she closed her mouth. If Ferris thought the night had been wonderful, that was good enough for Jessie. She smiled instead, watching as Ferris addressed the stadium.
As he moved back, leaned his head on her shoulder, she felt like she'd been hit with a sledge hammer to her heart. The move had just seen so natural, almost thoughtless, and completely genuine that it took her breath away. It was a little overwhelming, Ferris had seemed a little bit...puzzled by the events leading up to them waking up together, that she'd been worried. This simple movement made Jessie's heart go soft, mushy and she swallowed around a wave of emotion. Perhaps she was reading too much into things.
"last night was enjoyable" she agreed, smiling still. She slid an arm around Ferris to lean against him comfortably, content as Sheldon appeared once more, beginning to introduce the first match. Because she didn't particularly want to move from the position she was in, she grabbed her mic and turned it on.
"all very interesting questions, Ferris! Phoenix wings A team has managed to stay ahead of the competition, meaning they have a lot to defend! Let's see what hap-ooooh the pizza's here!" distracted, she grabbed the pizza box from the delivery person, taking a slice out
"let's see what happens as the first battle begins!" she continued as if she hadn't just mentioned end Pizza on the mic, happily biting into her slice, she offered the mic to Ferris.
gabriel@t2waveGabriel gave a shrug. Not many people seemed to think on it. And that seemed to lead to a lot of problems.
"I think all life has been crazy since magics beenout in the open again" Gabriel said softly,
"for better or worse" Sometimes he wondered if things would be better, without him, Michael, their parents having magic.
"I don't think anyone stays up to date. Things just keep on happening, and all we can do is stay on our feet and keep on trying"He didnn't seem to even notice that those words could be applied to him right then. he was merely trying to offer even the semblance of comfort to Ariel.
Pakuna vs Lazarus Battle one part oneAs the third day of battles began, Games Master Sheldon eagerly awaited the names of the first battle. Some of the participants were a little battered, but still eager for battle, which Sheldon enjoyed.
"LAZARUS of Phoenix Wing A, aaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnddddddddddddddd Pakuna of Tough Love, get ready to rumble!"Games Master Sheldon ushered the others out of the arena, leaving the two.
Pakuna looked over at her opponent, studying him with a cool look, standing with one foot back, her weight n that foot and her arms crossed, watching and waiting. She wasnt' about to make the first move.
She didn't particularly care for this, but she would fight, for her guild. Harry had done it. So she could too.
"come on. Lets do this"Lazarus stood in the arena across from his opponent. "Yeah. Lets." He threw a brief glance to his team in the stands. They would be expecting him to win this. Arguably one of the stronger of the team, matches like this needed to result in points. He had just about recovered from using his new move yesterday in the games. He let his fur pelt slip from his shoulders, to the ground. Shirtless, he took a step forward. "Wing formation!" His wings grew from his shoulder blades, extending out wide. He wasn't here to mess around. He would go full strength. He formed white aura in his hands. "Come. This is the closest you'll get to touching a god." He narrowed his eyes, taking up a fighting position. "Victory light!" He fired a basic beam of light energy in Pakuna's direction, to make her come.
Pakuna rolled her eyes at these antics, and she dashed to the side, annoyed at the toying attack. Water formed under her feet, rising her into the air and she lept nimbly one to another as more water formed, and she leaped down towards Lazarus, water forming from her hands, steam rising from it. It was clear that this was hot, scalding water cascading down on Lazarus
She was quick. "Not bad." The water came cascading down. "Lord's protection!" He placed his hands in front of him, his lift shield forming, deflecting the boiling water, as it steamed. He flew upwards in counter. "Be judged by the heavens." He draw as he flew. "Tower of judgement." The light toward formed upwards around Pakuna with 3 magic circles, bombarding with air and light. He used the same move as when training with Sasha. 'I've always taught you Sasha. But we've reached the point when training with you improves my own magic.' He grinned, flying to the top of the tower. "Below of the light god!" He sucked up the light around him and blew it down the tower, amplifying the effects. He really was going all out for the points.
Pakuna didn't know what any of these attack were but she didn't particularly care. As tower of judgement fell over her, she didn't know what it was meant to do. Nothing seemed to happen, but as Lazarus attacked with a light God attack, water formed around her like a shield.
She sighed, and let it explode outwards, towards Lazarus, hoping to engulf him within it, so she could then bombard him with attacks. If Lazarus was caught, he would be in a round water ball. She didn't try to move out of the tower
The water radiated outwards. It seemed like his holy magic wasn't too good of a match for her elemental magic. He had no choice but to get up close. His wings still formed, he aimed toward the ball of water. "Max speed!" He flew directly for it, at astonishing speed, breaking the surface, traveling though it, and burst through the other side. He was soaking wet. "Fist of the light god!" He splurted out, flying towards her, fist aimed for gut.
Pakuna seemed to sink into the ground as Lazarus approached her, attacking with another light God attack. Water puddled, and as Lazarus missed her, she formed again, giving a cocky grin, she spaced out with water that froze when it hit Lazarus, for surely she couldn't miss now. Water rose up behind her like a wave, threatening to engulf everything in its path
It was cold now. "Aye! You bitch!" He laughed and grinned. His toned changed. "However. you dont get it." He flew upwards, and did not stop. He pretty high now, safe from any of the larger water attacks she may have had. "Below of the light god!" He fired downwards.
Pakuna gave a sigh, once more leaping from water geysers as they formed, moving away from the attack, and dancing from one to the other, towards Lazarus. Water pellets formed, in the air and fired towards Lazarus like bullets from a gun, freezing as they went. She fired them in all directions, hoping to catch him eventually with one
"degrading name calling like that is childish" she said with a yawn
She was persistent, he would give her that. "Ok... ok..." He see the ice pellets coming towards him. "You asked for it... Satan's grip." Horns grew from his forehead, his skin darkened, and the white aura turned black. "I call on you... magic from the fiery pits of hell. Vanquish the sinner that is in front of you." He deformed his wings, dropping out of the way of the pellets, landing with a thud, right in front of Pakuna. He was about a foot away from her. The power of speed boost his satan's grip gave him felt good. He hadn't used it in a while. "Fist of the light god!!!!" He aimed a right hook into her side.
Pakuna seemed Unafraid and indeed, she gave a laugh.
"seriously?&?4 know i have sinned. I have stolen and cheated, I have lied and hurt.but I also know that I've spent the last 14 years of my life caring for, raising and looking out for a child left to die. I know I am not the purest person in the world. But I knew my sins and you can't terrify me with them" she said, her water catching Lazarus's attack, clumping onto his arm, and seemed very intent on swallowing him, into the ball of water.
Pakuna didn't want for anything so slow to happen. The wave came crashing down around them, engulfing them both, but Pakina held her ground
The water crashed down, heavy. He placed his arms above his head, not that it did anything. When the water cleared, he was soaked again. His eyes narrowed and he made eye contact with her. "Fist of the light god!" He swung. "Below of the light god!" He blew. "Regulus impact!" He followed up with a left hook of holy magic to the jaw.
Lazarus physical attacks did not hit Pakuna. They merely passed through ner, dispelling water, before she became solid again. She lept back nimble at the below attack, but couldn't miss it, earning herself a date with fhe ground. Shengrimaced and pushed nerself up, once more forming a wave of water. At this rate, she would fill tbe arena with water. Which actually wasn't a bad idea.
So this women couldn't be defeated by physical attacks. Interesting. The puddles Lazarus was stepping in were getting annoying, and they only seemed to be getting larger. He could swim, but he couldn't exactly fight whilst swimming. So long as he stayed in the air, he would be fine. He flew upwards, continuing a barrage of light bellows and victory light beam attacks, whilst spiralling upwards to outmaneuver any water attacks sent his way. He would get these points for Phoenix wing.
This was so annoying. Pakin gave a heavy sigh, once more sending water bullets towards Lazarus, using the geysers to get close to him, her water wave growing larger as she moved upwards. She had to at least put up a good fight, and try her hardest for tough love.
The water crashed down again, hopefully buffeted Lazarud to tne ground. Pakuna seemed to surface on it, standing on top of it
The wave did wash over him, but Lazarus had been using his wings for years now. He was more than strong enough to keep himself in the air, outlasting the water. He thought for a moment. So far her guild was dead last. How come she was fairly strong? He couldn't think about it any more, water bullets coming towards him. He darted forward in a zig zag motion at blitzing speed to get close to her. Once face to face he laid a fist of the light god on her, right in the jaw, attempting to completely make the fight swing towards him.
Pakuna wasn't wet, but the ground showed the the effects of so much water, the ground completely saturated, massive puddles forming. As Lazarus went to attack her again, she once more seemed to be made of waters his attack punching right though him. Pakuna moved smoothly, and counteracted, slamming a punch towards him
His entire body was soaked, glistening with water. It was heavy, but it didn't effect him too much. She did counter with a punch, which took him by surprise. He however, jerked his head back narrowly avoid her fist, grasping a hold of her wrist. "You can't avvoid me if I don't hit you with magic!" He tightened his hold, spinning with a throw to send her into the air. "Below of the light god!" He blew at her.
Pakuna reacted quickly. Another wave formed, large and looming behind her as she pushed off the ground with water, sending herself flying higher, but the attack still landed. She let out a cry, but her wave caught her, cradling her as if she were a baby, until she gained her feet on it, standing and looking down at Lazarus with fury.
Hard, frozen droplets of water rained down, essentially hail, around the fighting grounds, pelting, she hoped, Lazarus
He smirked a little. This woman was exactly what he was like a few years ago. She was direct and straightforward with everything she did. He respected that, but he had the upper hand here. "Victory light!" He fired a beam of holy magic from his hand upwards, clearing a flight path for him. He flew upwards, feeling a little tired. "BELOW OF THE LIGHT GOD!" He screamed, sending a wide beam of light magic hurtling towards Pakuna from a great height.
The attack hit Pakuna, and she let out a cry, as she was flung backwards. She fell to the ground with a crash, battered, bruised and shaken. She managed to push herself up, shaking weakly. She couldn't give up. She could let Harry down, couldn't let the guild down. If she let herself be beaten, how could she protect Harry? She let out a frustrated growl, and hot, boiling water was thrown up, as she guided it towards Lazarus, putting all her frustration into it.
He hovered in the air, with a sincere look on his face. "You're better than I thought you'd be." He paused. "But this is over." He sucked light in from his surroundings. "BELOW OF THE LIGHT GOD!" He combated the boiling water coming towards him with a below of light energy, locking power with the water. It was sort of like a magical 'push of war'.
Pakuna knew that Lazarus was stronger, but she couldn't just let him win. She dug her feet into the ground, and threw up more water, trying to overwhelm Lazarus bellow with high quantity. But she couldn't her power was waning fast, her water torrent failing, until Lazarus attack threw her backwards. She landed with a thud, and rolled onto her stomach, trying to push herself up, shaking. Her body didn't obey her, and she let out a shuddering sob.
As Pakuna hit the ground, he ceased his roar. Clenching his fists, and slicking his wet hair back, he trudged towards her on the ground. he charged up light magic in his hand, standing over her, ready for a beam of 'victory light'. "Do you concede?" He grunted. He didn't want to have to hurt Pakuna any more than necessary.
Pakuna knew that she couldn't just give up, couldn't just give in. She got her arms under her, and pushed herself up, arms wobbling she nevertheless managed to get herself into a sitting position, breathing hard.
"Never" She said in a near whisper,
"I have to continue. I have to be able to protect him. I can't let myself lose" She seemed to be talking to herself now, as she struggled to her feet.
Her body might not want to continue, but she still had magic enough. it began to pour around them, big fat drops of rain came thundering down, a torment of water, making it impossible to see. She seemed to soak in the rain, holding her arms out to it, and then bringing them together to clap loudly, almost like thunder.
Crashing waves of water fell around them, as she spent the last of her magic.
he shouted out as he was covered in the water, being swept away, trying to stay a float. He swirled around for a while, until the water was absorbed into the nearing saturated ground beneath them. He couldn't fly out, because he couldn't call on his wings in the water. Once the torrential waves had ceased, he lay flat on his back, sopping wet and panting. He pushed himself up, ripping off the remaining piece of fur pelt on his chest, throwing it with the other in the stand. The girl's body was broken, and it seemed as though she had used a lot of magic just then to try to wipe him out. He panted some more, before marching up to the sitting Pakuna. The look in his eye's suddenly changed. From wide eyed and heavenly, to pools of murderous intent. He didn't know what was coming over him. His entire body boiled. "My soul is burning." He muttered under his breath, before glaring at Pakuna directly in her eyes. "Do you know who I am?" He grunted. "You should fear me." His whole persona and voice tone had changed. "It'd be so simple to put you in your grave... right here in front of all these people." He was now kneeling down in front of the exhausted girl, whispering. He felt the boiling feeling again. His arm extended and his fingers latched around Pakuna's throat. He pushed up to his feet hoisting her into the air by her throat. "It would be so easy." He tightened his grip a little more, aiming for a choke, before suddenly letting go. He held out the palm of his hand, pointing at Pakuna. "Victory light!" The beam of light magic charged up and fired.
"Why should I fear you? Why should i fear death? After all, to the well organised mind, death is just another great adventure. The only reason to fear death...is if you fear your judgement. I don't" Pakuna whispered, closing her eyes as he lifted her by her throat. And then he let her go. As he charged up for another attack, Pakuna struggled to her feet, ordering her failing body to work, and putting the last of her strength into one last attack.
She punched him in the face as hard as she could, just before his attack hit her. She went flying, like a doll through the air, making no move to break her fall. Her last thought was
I'm sorry Harry. I guess the higher we dream, the harder we fall her body hit the ground with a sickening thud, but Pakuna had lost consciousness.
The look in Lazarus' eyes reverted to normal. They widened and the feeling was gone. He felt his jaw. It felt like he'd been been whacked with a hammer. He looked at the unconscious Pakuna. Had he won? the last thing he remembered was being put under her waves, and almost drowning. He rubbed his eyes and looked down at himself. His finger tips were covered in blood. He looked at the body laying in front of him. There were bloody finger marks on her neck. Had he done that? He felt a tight pain in his chest and he spluttered a little, coughing up some blood. He felt a little faint but stood up tall. He didn't remember winning, but he had won. He turned around slowly, clutching his chest and started back to his guild stand.
