Sweetness. I love that game with a passion. Although I don't get much competition around my area, I try to make it to as many events as possible. I am currently running a Red/Green Dragon deck, but at the moment I'm saving my money for the Vegas Grand Prix. Anyway, sweet dreams.
All of the Red/Green Dragon decks. Lol.
Anthony always seems to run some form of a White/Red deck. It's his style. He likes his tokens. I can't remember what colors his dragon deck is though...
@HylianRose
:D I have a Simic deck also! It's not as good as some decks, but it has a couple foils in it. My brother participated in last January's tournament, and gave me most of the cards he got for me to build a deck out of.
Also, could you explain the one "Onscreen Character" at a time rule? I mean, what does it help? Like, I understand the rule such as no godmodding, nobody wants their character being controlled, but I don't understand that particular rule all too well :/
Certainly! There's a post earlier in the thread where I explained it but if you need to see it again in another way, I can do that.
So... Think about a movie. Now, most movies have a few main cast and several supporting cast, right? Well, that's the way we'll be thinking about Athalia from now on. Think of it as if you were viewing Athalia as a really long movie series. You can have several hundreds of characters that fill the world and do things in it, but we won't focus on them. I'd rather use focus on a few characters at a time and knowing how many people get interested in this sort of idea, it's better that everyone just have one character that they focus on at one time.
The purpose of it is to get some control on the posting and the plethora of characters that some of us seem to get drowned in because while you can handle 5 or even 8 characters all at once, I cannot read posts that contain Casual Length posts for 8 different characters, it's just not ideal. It helps the problem of control without taking a away one of the best parts of Athalia which is it's flexibility in Character Creation and Idea Creation without it becoming a dump for every idea everyone has when they go to bed at night. So, let's say RPer A has been playing one of their main characters for a while and they want to focus on another one. They would send Character A off to do something 'off-screen' like shopping or studying or some other ongoing action that would then allow the RPer to 'pick up' another character and being working with them. Character B then comes on-screen with a short explanation of what they've been doing up until now and then what they are doing now.
It's still in a sort of beta stage just to see how it works, but I think it will help us. We, as RPers, just need to remember to keep the RP as a whole in mind. Will switching characters help the plot progress? What should be character be doing, what would they be doing and will it be helpful to the plot? Just... try to use your best judgement and if you feel like you don't know, come ask me, or your fellow RPers, for some advice on what you should do.
...Anyway. I have a Quiz in 3 hours and then a presentation to give that I am stressing out over. Wish me luck and I'll see you all later!
