Legends of Lavanya (Athalia Academy)

Athalia Academy, a once great supernatural school, now in ruins. It's students gone, it's halls empty, stands alone, a broken memory of times now gone.

It has been 5 years since we left the heroes of Athalia Academy and many of it's students have either died or fled to hide from Marcus Cross who has taken over the school grounds. 5 years ago, Marcus Cross sent his army to Athalia Academy, his attempt to squash it. However, Maria and her students were ready for him, at least they thought they were. Though they fought valiantly, Marcus triumphed as he sent a large ball of energy toward the main building, killing a majority of the students held inside of it.

Since then, Maria and the few students left in her care have fled the country of Elaniel to seek refuge in Oasari, Maria having an old friend there. Marcus, for whatever reason refuses to attempt a take over on Oasari and thus Maria has chosen it as their base of operations. Marcus, now under control of every other nation, excluding Xiuhcoatl, the dragon nation. Brako had been sent ahead of them to seek out the other dragons help while the small band of students and Maria must find a way to get to Xiuhcoatl without being arrested.

Little do they know that as Brako nears Xiuhcoatl, he can feel the weak pulses of the dragons. Something is happening to them, what is Marcus doing to them and how can they help the dragons? Before they can ask for help, they must help the dragons regain their strength and get past this cursed that has been lain upon them.

Yes, yes. My friends! It is time again for Athalia Academy to resurface with a new name! 'Legends of Lavanya' This does not mean that Athalia Academy is gone forever, however, as it can still exist if the characters build it back up again. But for the sake of the RP, the name has been changed to suit it's contents.

Athalia is an RP and idea near and dear to my heart and I'd like to see it flourish once again. Please, please be kind to it. :3

Expectations:
- Once a week posting minimum.
- 1 'Onscreen Character' at a time. However, characters in the universe are unlimited. This will be explained in detail later or if requested.
- 5-6 players ( I will cut it off as I see fit. If we end up with 7, that's fine. If we end up with 4, that's also fine. Just trust me.)
- High-Mid Casual (Comedy is fine, but this is still a fairly serious/dramatic RP.)
- Students are supernatural. It's not your ordinary 'Magic' RP. The magic is much more fluid and tends to depend on the RP to how they wish to play out the magic they give their character. There will be limitations, however.

The OP will be coming within the next week or two, hopefully.

It's pretty open ended, your characters just can't be super mega OP. Check out some of the existing characters if you want more of an idea.

1. Are we going to be posting our CS's here and then you'll make a shortlist, or is this just as long as enough players are in we'll go ahead and do it kind of thing? (Mainly because I already have a character in mind)

2. What do you mean by onscreen character? Are we only allowed 1 character per player, or to post for one character and allow others to move before controlling the other?

You are more than welcome to go ahead and begin making a character and if you'd like can post it here but I will be making the CS Skeleton when the OP comes up so you will have to post it again. As far as who gets a slot, DP and I have slots as GM and co-GM and another player gets a spot as he's a huge part of the world as well. But beyond that, I will accept as many players as I deem necessary, you just have to show up in the OP. Once you make a post in the OP, you will be reserved a spot. However, if you do not post a character or post with said character for a long time, your spot can be taken away. That'll all be explained in further detail in the OP.

Alright, On-Screen Characters. Think of this RP as a movie. Not all character can be 'on-screen' at once. And so, you can only 'puppet' one character per roleplayer. So, you can have many characters that you've created that exist in the world, but you may only 'puppet' or 'drive' one of them at a time. This way, we can sort of limit ourselves on the complexity of the RP. If you want to change character, you must drop the 'onscreen' character for another and that character then becomes 'off-screen.' They still exist in the world but aren't the focus of the RP at the time.

It's still experimental so some things many change as progress is made but this is something I'd like to try in an effort to fix a few issues we've had before. It allows for creativity but limits the chaos that comes from the creativity in the RP itself.

@ScarlettWaters16 No, it's not. Athalia Academy for the past couple of months has been on an offsite forum, it's own forum. But with the new additions to RPG, we decided to bring it back and try to bring in fresh meat, aka you guys.

The OP should be coming out soonish but DP and I still need to look over a few things and build the OP before it can be posted. We have everything, it just needs to be polished and put into an OP format. :)

@Nytem4re No, not closed off. Once the OP is up and people begin to show up in it, then I will announce the cut off. This is simply to collect interest and let people know what's coming. :)

When the OP is up and as people join the OP, slots will fill. Be one of the first and you'll probably make it in. All you need to do is join in the OOC. However, slots can and probably will, unfortunately, open back up as time goes on. So, I implore those of you that have shown interest to continue to watch and see when slots open back up.

As is the case, many RPers show interest in the Int Chk and then never show up in OOC or they join in OOC and then fall away shortly there after when they get a good taste for the RP and decide that it isn't for them. So, you never know. :3

@The Muse of Eru Should be within the week. I have finals in a few weeks and a few assignments due this week. However, I should have plenty of time to devote to RPing coming up as things slow down. However, on the 7th I may not get on very much as I'll be moving back home for the summer and there will be a new puppy in my home. So yeah... Puppy shenanigans ensue.

I'll try to get it up as soon as I can though. :)

This looks awesome! I have been reading the wiki and I just keep getting more and more interested. Anyway, I have two questions. 1. Are anime style pics required? 2. Could I make a character who was the spawn of something like a Great Old One? (Or some similar type of interdimensional horror?)
