Captive: No.
Appearance:
Monwa is tall and powerfully built, even for his people. At about 2.3 meters from eyestalk to toe, he stands head and shoulders above most of his peers among the Jedi and yet does not carry himself with overpowering bulk. Though he wears the traditional robes of the jedi he does so casually, seeming less than he is. He moves with purpose and consideration, not slowly but confidently, and as though he is very comfortable being who he is. Unusually gregarious for his people, he seems to be perpetually amused at something or another though it can be hard to tell for those not familiar with his people. He wears a pair of caps over his eye stalks that may occasionally make him seem menacing, but his demeanor is anything but.

Biography:
For much of his young life, Monwa was simple a normal pupae among his family of nomadic merchants. Living aboard a star ship and experiencing the manifold cultures that that his family was exposed to, he was something of a trickster in his younger years (and in many ways still is). It was this that got him noticed by a Jedi initially, the young Ithorian convincing a padawan learner to spend more than his fair share of credits on a personal shield that barely worked. When he returned with his Master to swap out the item, the Kel Dorian sensed something in Monwa that gave him pause. With his family's permission he was tested and found to be sensitive to the Force, and swept away in a matter of days for training with the Jedi proper at the tender age of eight.
Since then, Monwa proved as much of a handful as a Jedi could be. He was affable and entertaining, a veritable class clown, and he lead plenty of padawans and trainees on their fair share of hair-brained adventures. Hard to dislike or stay mad at, he accepted his reprimands with dignity and displayed no ill will or disrespect to the various Masters involved for their part in his punishment. Though dedicated to his studies, it was the Force that fascinated him--how it seemed to flow best and strongest when he allowed it to, how it guided him without forcing him and showed him the path rather than opening it for him. Always in the right place at the right time, he was strong with it as few other padawan were and learned to trust in it.
Assigned to the Jedi Historian Kiwk Dan-So, Monwa learned all that he could from within the walls of the temple and on the rare occasion that he was sent out to retrieve an artifact or secure a document for the aging Master. Happy to learn what he could within its walls, he was nevertheless pleased when he passed his Trials and was declared a full Knight and Consular--to the great surprise of most, he immediately left the temple library and sought instead to do his part for the galaxy.
What he found was a broken galaxy, an endless web of wiring misfiring left and right. That there were strings aplenty was easy enough for him to see, but the trick was always to pull the right ones to make the needed connection--so he did, and became quite skilled at it over time. Though many felt that a Jedi's best use was as a representative of the order directly, that Form 0 proved that a visible Jedi alone was enough to influence events Monwa always found that it was easier to accomplish his aims in anonymity. He rejected what he saw as the aggrandizing presence of the Jedi Order and instead attempted a more subtle approach, disguising himself and infiltrating his targets to achieve goals with minimal disruption. A Jedi's place was not, he argued, to be seen policing the galaxy but instead to guide it towards peace, appearing as necessary but no more. His results, and his more than thought out approach and defense of his ideals bought him sufficient leeway to be considered an eccentric, if effective, member of the Jedi, and he was allowed to take his first padawan.
Unfortunately.
Working with a local mining operation who had been dealing with a band of vicious pirate attacks, Monwa was assisting in negotiation with their leaders while his padawan snuck aboard he pirate frigate to place a series of disabling charges on its weapons systems. As negotiations broke down, however, the ship began to surge forward, its autopilot engaged--it became clear that the pirates intended to ram the ship into the mining complex, killing all present, rather than simply bombarding their shields as Monwa had expected and forseen. In a panic he contacted his padawan, who was unable to stop the ship...but was able to detonate the charges in its reactor instead, destroying it far enough away from the planetoid that the debris would be absorbed by the station shield. The escape pods had all been launched, and there was no time for a rescue or an alternative option--he walked her through the proper placement of the charges and whispered how proud he was of her, and goodbye, before the ship detonated and she was gone.
Since then, Monwa has done his best to remain true to himself. He still plies his tricks and his disguises, still works subtly from the shadows, but there is a pain in him that was not there before. Having resolved since that day to honor her memory and never shirk from what needs to be done, he has accepted many dangerous missions and made many tough decisions. Always justified in his actions, always willing to surrender everything for the sake of the greater necessity, he remembers always that he must be willing to play his hand to the hilt for the greater good. If he was willing to sacrifice her to save the lives of others, he must be willing to sacrifice everything for them.
He's taken many missions since, but not another padawan.
Player’s long term goals:
Light Side: Monwa has all the potential to be a truly great Jedi Master, given time. Wise enough to know that a Jedi is more than a lightsaber and the Force and brave enough to admit that she's so much more with it, there is much that he could pass on to the next generation.
Dark Side: Though unlikely to truly convert to the Dark Side, Monwa will be the first to accept that sacrifices must be made for the greater good. If that sacrifice is his peace of mind as he works his way into a position of sufficient influence to disrupt the Sith war machine then so be it. Such treachery leaves stains, and he may not recover from it, but you don't play the game if you're not in it to win.

Notable Race Traits:
Ithorians possess two mouths and four throats on either side of their neck. In addition to allowing them to speak their unique stereophonic language, the Ithorians also have the ability to violently expel air, resulting in a deafening and potentially concussive scream. Although even common Ithorians possessed this strange talent, those with Force training can push enough power into their sonic bellow to shatter iron and shred plasteel.
Ithorians are heavy creatures, powerfully built but slow to anger and react. Their unassisted speed and dexterity is somewhat less than your average humanoids.
Personality:
Well known as a glib tongue, Monwa is disarmingly adept at saying the right thing at the right time. Loquacious for a member of his species, his pleasant voice and surprisingly casual demeanor are off-putting for those expecting a more stoic or aloof Jedi. That is not to say that he is at all unaware of matters of etiquette, and more than most he is a polite and humble individual, but being quick with a quip or a witty retort has surprised more than its share of those expecting a slow-moving and slow-witted Ithorian lurking within his considerable bulk. He uses his talents for the greater good, and is a skilled manipulator in his own right.
Though demonstrably staunchly in favor of the Jedi order and the Jedi traditions, Monwa is a realist first and foremost. While he firmly believes that there is value in the Jedi Code and the Traditions, he also believes they must be seen in the context of the times they are living in. The Code is meant to be, he feels, an interpretive guideline on how to live, its tenants purposefully vague so that meaning can be made individual to those that walk it. As such he is relatively well known as an approachable Knight to many of the younger generation who chafe under the charge of their Masters, which has gotten him in trouble on more than one occasion.
Monwa is a firm believer that a subtle hand prevails--as such, he is often found behind the scenes of whatever he does, supporting others in accomplishing a task either seemingly without him or without his direct interference. He cares little for fame or recognition--in the words of the not-yet-born Plo Koon, it is enough to serve and have good come from it. In his own words, it is good to empower others to accomplish their own acts, and to utilize the influence of the Jedi where it is most powerful: As a guiding hand. That this comes at the expense of being less than forthright with those he deals with is an acceptable loss to him--a talented trickster, he takes no small delight in his ability to orchestrate good without ever seeming to have a direct hand in the matter.
More than anything, Monwa is patient. Not to be misconstrued as indecisive, the Ithorian is willing to take the time and spend the energy doing what he needs to in order to come to the right answer to a problem, not the easy one. Focused and attentive to the task at hand, he is innovative in his approach to problem solving and prefers to think outside the box to solve an issue. He prefers, first and foremost, to rely on pragmatism and skill over anything as abstract as the Force--it is strong with those who help themselves, in the age old adage, and he feels that the Jedi are divorced enough from the people they serve that they frequently don't look for solutions that would be obvious to others. As such, Monwa tries to learn as much as he can from anyone he meets about their talents, their profession, their hobbies and walks of life. By gaining such proficiency, he hopes to serve as a rounding point for the order.
Flaws:
A creature devoted to building and directing the future, it is not without regret that Monwa looks to the past. The old lessons are doomed to repeat themselves until the cycle can be broken, and with traditions upheld the way they are it will be a long time before they can be escaped entirely. Monwa knows this, and does his best to continue in spite of it, but in the times of quiet contemplation he, like many, can turn such insight onto himself. Ever willing to make the tough calls, to focus on duty and his mission and do what must be done, his victories have not been bloodless and he is not without his failings. To remember them is to learn from them, but also to re-experience them.
Monwa remains casually grounded with those around him because he cares about them, individually and collectively. It is this that both drives him to direct events towards the greatest good and causes him the most pain as he makes sacrifices that must be made. He does not shirk and acknowledges, always, his hand in events when it is discovered, but it is difficult for him to watch those around him suffer. While some may imagine this guides his decisions towards mercy and leniency, the truth is not so simple--it is a flaw he is aware of, and one he actively combats to the point, occasionally, of overcompensation. While he is never callous, he has decided before on a course of action that will spare the many at the expense of the few. It has not always been the correct decision.
Skills:
Well-meaning merchant. Ham-handed pirate. Grizzled smuggler. Monwa has pretended to be these things and many more in his travels, and maintains more than his fair share of alias, contacts and professional connections. In many cases few are aware that they are in the presence of a Jedi knight at all--though he is hardly ashamed of his affiliation, he finds that it is often easier to accomplish a goal when one is not expecting the mind tricks, the saber-play or the mysticism of the Jedi. As such, whether through subtle use of the Force or, more often, simple misdirection and disguise, Monwa is very skilled at appearing as what he is not.
An autodidact from birth, Monwa has always delighted in learning the intricacies and the little details of all walks of life. He speaks with moisture farmers, star pilots, smugglers, bartenders, pimps, soldiers, slavers, slaves. He learns what he can from all of them, enough to know a little bit about everything. This both makes his disguises more convincing and his ploys more viable, and it helps him remain grounded among his people. By no means an expert slicer, Monwa may well know that the E36 Voline Wall Mount can be wiped rather than burned out with a slight crossing of wires. Though not a star ship captain or a spacer by trade, he might be aware that most Correllian-made cruisers utilize the same basic configuration adjusted for use. Its these little tricks of various trades that don't often come up, but can occasionally make all the difference.
Though he tries not to rely on either his saber or the Force, Monwa is not at all unskilled in the use of either. Though in general he tries to restrict the use of his lightsaber to those situations where it is necessary, as in all things Monwa is a realist--there will come a time and a place where force is necessary, and in return he attempts to end combats as quickly as they begin with the powerful counter-attacks afforded by the combination styles of Shien and Djem So. A large and strong being, Djem So's immediate ferocity allows him to capitalize on the aggression of his opponents and end a battle with a single sharp swing as often as not without sacrificing the capability to handle the more common blaster combat he is familiar with when things go South. Still, his true strength is in the Force--his use of Djem So is primarily by way of rebuttal.
Force capabilities:
Monwa is a Jedi Knight, and all that implies. As a Consular and Sage, he is more than proficient with the basic talents of the Jedi Order. Specific advanced capability is noted below.
Monwa is a consummate user of the Jedi Mind Trick, well known for his ability to influence all but the most stubborn minds. The trick, of course, is not to break but to bend--to guide, rather than to push. Subtle in his application of it and gentle in its use, he nevertheless has managed to brute force his way through the guard of even those aware of his ministrations on rare occasion, though it is taxing and requires concentration to do so.
Having trained extensively in the use of telekinesis, Monwa is quite skilled in its application both in precision and in force. Able to lift great quantities through focus and force of will and summon impressive blasts of telekinetic strength, battery through the Force is his prime method of assault in prolonged battle when he is unable to end the combat quickly by force of blade. He is skilled at integrating it in with his bladework as well, utilizing concepts cherry-picked from Form VI to assist his otherwise classically Form V close combat.
Well aware of the power that the Force can have on an unprepared body, Monwa has trained himself well against its use. Especially with the advent of combat against the Sith during his missions, he has taken pains to reduce what he considers their greatest advantage--their ability to use the Force for directly destructive means. Not concerned with blaster bolts or lightsabers, he uses the ability instead to fortify his mind and body into an impregnable bastion against manipulation and the Dark Side of the Force. He is very difficult to affect with such powers.
When desperate times call for desperate measures, Monwa relies on the defense of his otherwise peaceful people to save him. Though taxing, four throats and two mouths can cause some impressive sonic force, and amplified by the Force it can become a truly potent weapon. Used only in times of great peril, as it is difficult to direct enough to reduce significant collateral damage, Monwa is capable of a Force Bellow that can shatter and warp plasteel, durasteel, and other construction-grade components and cause significant damage to any combatant unfortunate enough to be caught in the blast.
