Edgar Quantus "Vocab" and Richard Dowel "Natsu"
The new room mate slid from the top of the bed, greeting Edgar more or less normally. So he was a year 5? He had a thought, that maybe they could have been more powerful, but then realised how stupid that actually was. The guy then went on with his name, rank, school, etcetera. Medela was a pretty interesting school; the art of healing, and all its related forms.
"Yeah, I guess Naturalis can be interesting." he replied, shaking the guys hand whilst glancing both a bit more over the room and over Richard,
"But in all honesty, I dislike all the ones who use nature, and plants. I dunno, I just don't really... Appreciate it, I guess. Anyway, my branch is time manipulation. You know, altering time streams and stuff like that."He turned slightly away from Richard, and grabbed a small object from the desk; a pencil pot.
"Right, let's see." he said as he threw it up in the air with a small amount of force. He looked straight at it, stretching his hands out a little, with his arms making Vs.
"Renal ich bal ein." he said, slightly under his breath. He said it quickly, surprisingly quickly, as if it was something he had been trained to say as fast as possible.
"Naturalis: Chronos Disruption." and with the final words said, the pot, that was surprisingly still falling, began to fall slower. Whatever it was, it was strange.
"How's that?"
Richard stood with his arms crossed as Edgar began to explain his magic. His ears perked up when he heard the mention of Time Manipulation, as this piqued his interests. That would be very interesting, as it had applications outside of normal combat or self defense. He watched with bated breath as Edgar picked up the Pencil pot and proceeded to toss it up in the air. Richard took a step back, wanting to put some distance between him and the pot for when it would fall and hit the ground, but relaxed when Edgar started his incantation and the pot slowed down.
"That's astounding" Richard commented, and reached out to grab for the pot, but as he neared it his hand began to slow, much to Richards surprise. It was as if his hand were moving through some kind of thick syrup. He pulled his hand away, and it began to resume it's normal pace. "That's super weird..." He said, examining his hand with curiosity, "I'd show you mine, but healing does require a wound in order to function." He pointed out, with a bit of a smile.
The pot kept falling, moving as slowly as it did a minute ago. Edgar stood in amusement as the fifth year placed his hand within the distorted area, and watch as his hand became slowed as well.
"Yeah, it is a bit weird. It's got this feeling when your in a distorted time field that you can't really describe properly." he said, reaching in with his left hand and grabbing the pot. His hand didn't slow, however, and a tattoo, or rune if you will, began to glow; the symbol for space. He had more runes across his body, but the two on his hands were the main ones - space and time. If he didnt have those, then his magic wouldn't work. Even with the onj132fhr87eywf the runes made up the basis for everything, making them indispensable. As he grabbed the pot, though, the rune stopped glowing, and the time field returned to its normal movement.
"I guessed your power worked with healing, but what actual power does it have? I mean, I've seen some odd Medela Magic before, so what's yours all about? Do you regenerate limbs, just heal wounds, reverse cell growth or decay?" he started listing off some different types of Medela magic that he could recall, and then looked at Richard to see if he was correct. He couldn't have been that far off, surely.
Richard watched as Edgar grabbed the pot and stopped it from hitting the ground. He thought be may be home free as far as sharing his power went, but Edgar decided to push the topic. With a slightly exasperated sigh, and forced a smile and gave a light laugh. "Well, I'm a little weird too." He said, deciding that may be the best way to lead in with a lighter tone. "It'll be easier for me to just show you."
"Alright, so just please, keep in mind through this, I'm not a masochist, or a sadist for that matter." He said carefully, and produced a small dagger from a sheath on his belt. He gritted his teeth together and made a small cut on his forearm. Grunting in pain a tiny bit, "I promise, I'll take this right back." He said, and placed his hand above the wound, causing the runes on his glove to glow. "Medela: Tainted Remedy." He said, and the cut disappeared from his arm, and onto Edgars. "That's my trick, I can give or take the wounds of others, be it a cut or a lost limb even, I can move around the damage." He explained, and waited to see how Edgar would take this.
The fifth year drew a dagger, and proceeded to cut himself across the arm. It was a little odd seeing him cut himself to do his magic, but then he saw why. Edgar watched as, in an instant, the cut on Richard’s arm disappeared. And, in the same instant, he felt a sharp sting in his arm, and it almost felt wet. He looked down at the arm, and saw the blood first, then the cut; the same one Richard had just inflicted upon himself.
”Huh, that's… Interesting. Is that just Medela or are you combining it with Neutra as well?” he questioned, looking over the wound with close to morbid curiosity. It was, indeed, the same cut from the same dagger, the cut that Richard originally possessed. Even the groove of the dagger was the same, as if it had just cut Edgar’s hand rather than his own.
”So you take wounds and transfer them over to another person. I assume there are limits, but I'm not gonna go into that…” imagine what he could do with jn8yque8f7wd, it would be pretty incredible… he thought, still looking over both Richards arm and his own.
”So I assume then you can take it back.”
A smile danced across Richards face at Edgars reaction. That was new, most people tended to be repulsed by his ability. “I’m pretty sure it’s just Medela, but honestly? I’m the only person with this I’ve ever come across.” He admitted, “I call it Medela, but it’s so out there, I’d almost put it in it’s own class.” He mused, and then said,”As far as limits go, I can’t bring people back to life, and I can only transfer onto a live body.” He said, “And if I wanna fix something like an amputation, I need to have what I’m reconnecting. But where are my manners?” He asked rhetorically, “I can take that back, yeah.”
He reached out for Edgars arm, and repeated the action that he performed on his own arm, and winced as the cut resurged back on his arm. He withdrew his arm and grabbed it at the cut. “Don’t worry about this baby though, ” He said, “I’ll probably hand it off to some eraser later today” He chuckled and squeezed it a bit to mute the pain. “I tend send pain back at those guys, I really hate what they do to the first years.” He said, hoping that that little piece of information wouldn’t throw Edgar off too much.
Edgar watched as the mage took his arm and, in a split second, the cut had closed, and there was no evidence it was ever there save a small amount of blood. He took notice of Richard’s reaction, as the wound had ended up back where it originally began.
”That's interesting, and I don't say that often. I have never seen something pure Medela that looks as if it involves teleportation. I’m not gonna pretend to understand it, since it's cool for what it is! he said, stepping away from Richard and sitting down on the bottom bunk. Then, out of nowhere, several runes began to glow on Edgar’s body.
The ones on his hands were glowing, as well as one on the right of his neck, one on his right cheek, one that looked as if it was carved directly into his left eye (but seemed to have no translation), as well as several others across his body.
”Ren eis fen os bas. Naturalis: Chronos 89fet7dbvg” the rune activation was followed by yet another, unnaturally fast incantation. However, instead of coming out as "Disruption", it came out as a garbled mess of odd sounds.
In the same instant, Richard felt the cut, though seemly normal, almost change. A good change; a change that would make it heal faster, at least to a degree. All Edgar had really done, though, was alter the time stream of the small area around the cut so that it would move faster through time. The cells would grow back, and it would close much, much faster - maybe even 7 times faster.
”Since we are now officially buddies, I guess, take that as a little gift.” he said, standing from the bunk and walking to the door,
”See you later then! and with that, he left.
