It's a post-mission party thing that everyone was super enthusiastic about writing when the Team Turian collab was coming to life, so while it's unorthodox and is NOT going to become something that happens often, the collab was written with the understanding that it may have to have large parts rewritten or changed depending how events leading up to it go and that it probably won't be posted for weeks because of everything else that's going on.
Basically, I am taking it as a fun writing exercise that everyone wanted to work on because it was one of those silly things that was born out of the pad chat and wanting to do something with the characters in a fun, social setting.
We have discovered that there are some complications in doing that, namely that literally anything can happen prior to that scene and change the relationship dynamics between characters and there is no way to know how the plot will progress. However, seeing as it is about as generic of a situation as you can get and is almost certainly going to happen as is, I didn't see a reason why not to let it happen.
That said, let's not let this kind of thing become a regular practice. Even mentioning it in the OOC's caused confusion, but rest assured, this is not going to be a bit of writing that will see the light of day for quite some time and it will likely have to change to reflect in character events. Once again, it pretty much was just a fun writing exercise that people wanted to do because they thought it would be fun to see their characters in that kind of situation.
Rule of thumb, any writing and collabs should only be about moving the plot forward and not for events that may or may not happen. Keep in mind we still have the mission, the post mission supply run, and what happens after is largely dependant on what you guys as players decide to do moving forward with the information and leads that will be popping up.
Hell, for all you guys know, Hellis and I may blow up the ship when the team's away. We're crazy like that.
So, if anyone really wants to write something set far down the line, definitely do so with the acknowledgement it may turn out being entirely hypothetical and may not come to pass because of IC events preceding it.
