Personality: Van can be laid and chill at one moment and then passionate at another. He has a love of music and unlike many others in his profession, Van is not an angsty rebel and instead has great respect and love for his family and society. He is a believer in mutual respect and obeying just authority. His heritage in the bardic arts is very important to him and he has hopes to become part of the great legacy. Van has a respect for all music and refrains from insulting others in their tastes for music. He doesn't like others who insult different kinds of music and has a disdain for snobs. He can also be a bit stubborn, but he has a sense of heroic duty and will not stand by while evil is harming innocents.

Bardic Magic: Van is able to utilize a type of magic that involves music and performance. As a bard he is able to utilize a number of spells of various effect. He can only utilize one spell at a time and using spells too many times will deplete his well of magical power and he will start to feel fatigue so he has to choose his spells wisely. It takes a few hours of rest to fully regain his magic and his magic is weak against silver.
Song of The Battlefield: this spell creates an area effect in a hundred foot radius that bolsters him and his allies resolve and boosting their vitality and will to fight.
Rhythm of The Earthquake: Van plays his guitar and causes the ground in a seventy foot radius to shake violently. These vibrations are powerful enough to destabilize structures and cause them to break apart. This spell does however require a large amount of magical power to cast and maintain.
Song of Healing: he plays a light and soothing tune which heals wounds. The strength of the spell is determined by how much magic is put into it. At its full strength the spell can heal broken bones and close bad gashes, but it doesn't work on mortally wounded people and he can only target one person with the effects of the spell.
A Strum of Lightning: Van strums his guitar and the head of the instrument fires off a bolt electricity. This a purely offensive spell and can be costly to his magical reserves if used too recklessly.
Hymn of Flight: This spell grants Van the capability of flight by surrounding him a bright red aura.
Shielding Tunes: Van plays his guitar and a field of magical protection surrounds him. It can withstand firearms and a good amount of force, but it will not hold up against very powerful blasts and weaponry. Also the longer the spell is maintained the more magic is required to keep it going.
Song of Might: This spell increases his strength by a large amount and his strength increases fourteen times. This spell will cost a lot of magic if used too many times and is kept up for too long.
Musical Illusions: Van creates illusions to try and fool his enemies. The illusions are not solid, but they look and sound very realistic. The bigger and more complex the illusion is the more magic is required.
Skills: talented musician, good knowledge of the arcane and well read in fiction and history of music.
Brief Backstory: Van's family is part of long line of bards who could create magic through the use of music and Van grew up on stories about the bards in his family. It had been several generations since his family had produced a bard, but they still kept knowledge of the tradition alive through stories and songs. Van however was different and at the age of nine he began to develop magical powers and his parents had him begin to start his bardic training with his grandfather who had the most knowledge of all of them about the ways of bards.
With the help of his grandfather Van's power was able to grow, but he wasn't exactly sure what to do with his powers. Van wanted to help in someway with his power, but at the time he was still focused on doing what he liked, which was practicing his guitar skills. He had already formed a small band with his friends and did a few local performances. It wasn't until a hostage situation happened at a bank close by where his band was performing that Van realized that he could use his magic to do good. Now with his decision made and his approval from his grandfather, Van took on the name Rockstar and began his hero career in fighting crime wherever he could find it.
