Time: Before Dawn
Location: Kingdom of Light, Royal Castle

The first lights of day in the Kingdom of Light were just starting to peek over the horizon. A cool breeze of what was left from the night before, danced through the drapes of Octavia's bedroom window, and the moon and stars still hung high in the sky. Today was going to be a good day. A different day.

Octavia was already wide awake, she wore a white sundress, a small bag straped across her shoulder, and held a neatly folded, dark cloak in her arms. She stood on the very edge of her windowsill and looked down, smiling; it was going to be a long fall to the ground. Her hair danced slightly in the updraft as she took a deep breath, taking in the cool night air, then smiled once more before stepping of the edge and plummeted downwards. Octavia laughed as she continued to free fall, playing a very dangerous game of chicken. The wind howled as it whipped at her hair and clothes.

Once she was about 30 feet or so from the ground, Octavia spread her wings out wide, sending her up high into the air. She smiled happily as she touched the clouds, weaving in and out. She loved it up here, in the sky. When she flew, she knew what it was like to be a bird, to be free. To be free of responsibility, from the tools of pain and suffering and war. To know and feel true happiness and freedom from it all.

She soon arrived at the boarder between the two worlds. Octavia closed her wings, once again free falling until she was about 10 feet from the ground. She flaped her wings a few times then softly landed on her feet only a few feet away from the boarder. She then folded up her wings and donned the dark cloak that she brought with her. "There! now I look human. Or at the very least I don't look too much like a child of light." She thought silently looking quite satisfied with herself.

Cautiously, Octavia approach the boarder and stuck her hand through. The air was cold and quiet, and a thin layer of frost gathered on her skin, the very second she stuck her hand through the boarder. She took a deep breath and mustered every bit of resolve she could manage. "Today's the day." She murmered to herself, then stepped through the boarder. The air here was cold, lifeless, and silent and the sky was dark, locked in eternal nighttime.

Slowly, ever so slowly, Octavia took a few cautious steps. After believing she was in no immediate danger, an intense feeling of excitement and wonder bubbled up within her to the point where she couldn't contain it. She let out a small happy squeel and jumped up and down, proud of herself, before quickly covering her mouth and catching herself. Octavia looked around nervously hoping nobody saw her. "Yaaay!" She whispered to herself happily, then giggled.

Octavia took one last look at the world of light, then hesitantly pressed forward. A thin layer of frost grew on the edges of her cloak and skin, her breath now visible, as she walked deeper into the dark forest of dead trees.

Today was going to be a good day. A different day. A dangerous day.

Alchemy.

The word was familiar to Caezel, but at the same time it had an odd and slightly distasteful sound to him. Perhaps it was the fact that someone of his legacy was digging through weeds in a dense half-dead just to find one of the correct mushrooms for his latest potion. Or that he was competing with more and more young individuals that had barely passed the tender age of 200 on the arts he had been doing for centuries. Or perhaps he was just old. No, no no, he thought, shaking his head as his back popped while he leaned to brush leaves aside. Not old. Just... experienced. He picked a mushroom... a purple one with brown spots. Damn it. Not even the mushrooms grow right. Can't you bastards grow someplace just a LITTLE more convenient than right next to the border?! Throwing the under-aged mushroom aside, he kicked at the dead leaves on the ground and wrinkled his nose as the mushroom began to reek.

"Can't you damn things smell just a little better..." he growled at the spot where he threw the mushroom. At the right age, they were rather nice smelling and distinctly poisonous. He had the luck of picking one just before ripeness - not poisonous and distinctly horrible in smell, detectable by vampires and possibly fatal to humans. And only the exact texture of the spots could indicate the difference. The texture failed him. Again.

Obviously, the mushrooms were starting to lose their distinct textures too. Caezel hadn't checked his eyes in five hundred years, but he was quite confident that wasn't the problem. Or at least, he didn't want to think it was.

Putting the subject out of his mind, he walked through the forest, checking the roots of every tree. The mushrooms he was looking for grew right in that area - an area very close to the border. Despite that, he wasn't particularly concerned - his blade could finish off what his alchemy and limited spell knowledge could not. Unless it was a fairy. In which case it would turn to be a nasty brawl... though he didn't mind the concept.

He stood up very suddenly, having detected something... different. A noise, something... giggly. It was the most random noise he could have possibly heard in the context. Something very off indeed.

Moving quietly, stepping to make no sound, he came to a tall tree a few feet in front of him and slowly climbed it. He was old, but he climbed with all the grace of a stalking cat.

At the top, he saw something distinctly odd far through the branches: a strange figure in a cloak, walking through the forest, a couple hundred feet away. He could hear the footsteps of the figure, or rather the branches that were being stepped on, but he couldn't get a good enough look to see what it actually was.

He opted to stay put in the tree for the moment, watching as the figure moved forwards a little off center from his direction, keeping his eyes on its every move. If he was lucky, he could find his mushroom and feed on a new victim in one swoop. Or capture himself another experiment. Either option sounded fine to him... but first, he would have to see what came of the figure and identify it further. He didn't base his survival on being hasty.

Uriel Havoc

Today was a new day but it would end up no different than his previous days. Days filled with crimson blood, silver weaponry and magic. Unlike previous days though, he was not ordered to fight an army but rather just to patrol the border that separated the light from the dark. The so called 'good' and the so called 'evil'. He wore his usual armor, the one crafted by his mother, and had his shield strapped to his back and his sword sheathed at his side.

Unlike most patrols, he was alone. He was a general, yes, and he commanded a whole legion who would follow his orders until their deaths but he needed no such support when it is simply patrolling the border. Their sentries hadn't caught anything like an army so there was nothing to worry about. And besides, his legion would be up and running by the time the horns were blown. In fact, they were ready right now for a fight just like any other Child of Darkness inside who had devoted their lives to fighting like he had.

He glanced across the border. It was odd really, how their world was perfectly divided. From where he was stepping was a cold and barren land, cold and without sunlight. Frost was forming on his armor but it was nothing to be afraid of. Further in to his home territory was snowy lands thanks to the sheer coldness of it. On the other side, however, on the Land of Light, was something completely opposite. Their land basked in the sunlight that most Children of Darkness could just dream of, their land was rich with vegetations and life. Perhaps others would be envious but Uriel couldn't feel anything, not envy nor pride.

Another deep sigh found its way out of his mouth as he soldiered on. He took these patrols quite seriously so he stopped every once in a while to check out any fresh footprints or perhaps something out of the ordinary. That's why he starts at a very early time, so he could finish earlier and continue training the new cadets that found their way into his regiment. Although most were quite skilled from what he saw earlier.

A sound reached his ear. A very unusual sound that most wouldn't hear at this time and place. A giggle, a squeal of excitement. And it made the demon very suspicious. He left his usual path near the border to follow where the sound came from. Lo and behold, he saw a figure walking through the dense trees of their local forests. Now what could a person be doing at this time of the hour? The only people he usually saw around these parts were alchemists and collectors of herbs that grew around here.

He began to run, towards the figure. "Halt!" He ordered as he continued his pursuit. These were one of the times were he wished that he had wings. But surprisingly, he still was quite quick under all that metal on him. "Who are you?" He once again demanded, unsheathing his sword and taking his shield. This just might be a spy and it would be dangerous to pursue this person without any form of defense.

Bored bored bored. From the moment she awoke, Velia could feel the day dripping with nothingness. It was days like this that she would be caught doing the most absurd things, the most reckless things, the most dangerous things. The outfit in which she wore seemed to highlight her need for attention, especially the cross dangling from her neck. It was something she loved doing, wearing and displaying the small ironies in life.

Slipping out into the night air, a smirk tugged at her lips as her breath came out as a cloud of white. A human would perhaps be shivering in what little clothes Velia was wearing, yet Velia felt nothing. It was bliss. Letting a contented sigh escape past her lips, she darted in amongst the dead, rotting foliage surrounding her. To the untrained eye, all that could be seen was a blur of white as her hair was blown behind her. She didn't have a reason for doing any of this. She rarely did have a reason for doing anything anymore, but, as per usual, she did it to pass the time. That was the one thing she disliked most about being a vampire: time. She had far too much of it.

Velia, having decided her boots were not comfortable enough, continued to dance and skip her way through the forest now barefoot. The dull ache at the back of her throat told her that soon she needed to feed, but it wasn't urgent. Yet. She had met vampires that had built up a tolerance towards blood, only needing to feed once a fortnight or so. She scoffed at the thought; feeding on human blood was a vampire's true calling. To ignore such instincts was as if they were rejecting the fact that they were vampires. Velia loved the thrill of the hunt, how it took over every fibre in her body and turned her into a pure predator.

"Speaking of vampires." Her smooth, lilting voice muttered as a thought popped into her head. Who could always supply a touch of excitement to the day? Who always seemed to have something for her to do? The idea seemed to send her reeling, causing her to dance and twirl in graceful circles with limitless energy. Caezel. A bubble of laughter rose up to escape her lips but, before it could, another sound caused her to stop dead in her tracks.

"How on earth could someone else be laughing?!" She demanded, her voice reaching an octave, now outraged at the fact that someone would dare to share the same feeling of happiness she had felt beforehand. As her head twitched slightly while she listened for anymore sounds, she felt her teeth sharpen slightly. The tips of her canines pierced her bottom lip, sending a trickle of blood dribbling down her chin. Velia raised her hand to wipe the blood away, and as the hand was lowered, her eyes were now revealed to be tinged with red.

"How exciting."

A heavy yawn roared through an umarked grave site as Don awoken. He patted a headstone that took the place of his pillow and rested his back against the stone. "Damn...." He randomly curser getting up and dusting himself off. Don opened his palm and his Scythe instantly appeared in his grip. "Why can't people stop dying...it's like every frocking day...." He murmured disappearing and reappearing in a whole new setting. It was a small home within a small town somewhere in the land of the darkness. As Don't arrived there were screams and two panicked people besides the one that was dead on the ground. "What the fuck!?" Don shouted as he witness the most dumbest of death scenes play out before him.

The guy was still alive but had a huge chunk of his forehead missing. What could of cause something like that is a mystery but Don doesn't give a shit he came here to reap the soul of the fuck up who died today. To make matters even more fantastic the guy was starting to realize he was dead and Don didn't feel like explaining his situation for the 1 billionth time. He just causal walked through the choas and decapitated the man his soul leaving his neck instantly as his head was gone. This lead to more screams and one of the two people present to pass out. Don grabbed the corpse by the collar and vanished leaving the head at the scene. It's not like he can use it anyways. He was back in the grave from before.

Walking a few feet as he returned crows and other creatures of the night can be heard screaming their heads off. Don hated them but killing them would be even more of a task which he doesn't have time fore thanks to the countless increasing screw ups per day. He soon reached a grave that was only accompanied by a head stone and a empty whole. "Here's your knew home!" He shouted tossing the corpse into the whole and looking at it for bit. Corpses are his favorite thing about this world. He'd keep one as a pet if it wasn't for it smelling like garbage and excrements after a certain amount of time. Don started to whisper a cheerful tone as he opened his palm and his Scythe disappeared.

Not to far from where he stood was a shovel, he grabbed the shovel and began to drop dirt in the grave whistling a tone that sounds like some sort of metal or rock music. From a normal perspective he just looks like the average creature of the night digging a grave....actually he's not your average creature of the night digging a grave. The average creature would probably be hiding a body or grave robbing. Don patted the dirt of the finished grave and rested one the shovel. "Man I need a drink.." He said leaving the grave site and heading to the nearest and most populated city within the Dark's territory or a popular bar that he can snag a drink in. Which ever came first he was headed in the direction of the capital, so he was bound to run into something.

Thalia Roven

If it weren't for the money being offered, Thalia would have flatly refused. But with the money earnt, she could possibly buy a new bow, hopefully of better quality. The somewhat tall elf sighed, adjusting her fur vest over her body before slipping her feet through the thick boots. She even slipped a small kitchen knife, one never used before, just to be safe. Thalia had only heard rumours about the world of darkness, the cold, the fear. For all she knew, it were just silly rumours, but it didn't hurt to be careful.

Who in their right mind wants meat from the other side of the bloody border? Thalia wanted to question, but after being offered the gold, Thalia knew she had to at least try.

It was still dawn when Thalia slipped through the door and travelled down the bare paths until the houses were fewer and sparce to find. Her ears were perked, ready to sense any danger and she had one hand delicately wrapped around her bow, ready to fight. Every nerve in her body was screaming for her to stop - to turn around and just forget about the deal, but she could feel the adrenalin pumping through her veins. And just like an addict, she couldn't stop.

"If I don't find anything, I'll just bring back a rabbit from the forest within the Light world." She reasoned to herself, even if her words didn't sit well with her. Her ego was too big, the thrill of trespassing into the wrong world too fun.

Thalia looked up, approaching the borders, only to find a girl already there, donning a dark cloak right on the edge of the two worlds. What the hell?! Is she insane?!

"Hey! Wha--" It was too late, the strange girl took one look around her before stepping through. "Well shit." Thalia was insane, sure, but at least she had some motive to go to the Dark, but what would a normal person need from there? Her sense of overprotectiveness to those unable to help themselves surged - she looked like she could barely hurt a fly!

"Right, new plan, T." She muttered to herself, pace quickening till she was right on the edge as well. "Get the girl before she hurts herself. Then find the meat." Nodding to herself, as if agreeing, Thalia stepped through the border. She shivered at the sudden temperature change, the darkness raising goosebumps across her pale skin.

Thalia just hoped she wasn't making a big mistake.

There was no such thing as having the luxury of sleep anymore, his duties constantly prohibited him from the softness of a pillow much to Lucius's dismay. The war seemed to be at a standstill, nothing extraordinary was going on thankfully but at the same time it shouldn't that have meant he would get more sleep? Of course not, because someone up top had the notion that this standstill was just a ruse by the enemy to get the upper hand. This meant that there was no time for relaxation and almost all of the day was spent training or scouting areas that had the presence of darkness.

So there Lucius was, under the cover of trees in the dawn of morning, working on about four hours of sleep. He was extremely close to the border, to the point where he could peer across into the desolate landscape. He shivered, he hated the dark and the cold, making sure to give thanks for the light that he had grown up in, even if it was bittersweet.

Lucius was quite bored at the time, he had literally stayed up all night watching the border in hopes of anything happening. He was very disappointed by the time the sun was just coming up. It was actually about time for him to go back to camp, but something caught his eye.

An angel?

The winged creature landed not a few feet away from the border but about forty feet away from him. He could make out that it was a female but that was it before the angel put a cloak over itself and stepped through the border in the darkness. He was horrified, why would an angel do that willingly? It did not look like she was forced but perhaps she was bewitched?

Lucius shook his head, no that couldn't be right.

His uncertainty for action was quickly met with another female crossing the border near the same place the angel went in. Now that was suspicious, but Lucius did not know what to do. On one hand if he did not return to the camp people would come looking for him and on the other if he let that angel fall into enemy hands, well he shuddered at the thought of loosing another one of the beautiful creatures. No! He quickly grabbed his staff and made his way to the edge carefully, always looking around for danger.

He was there, so close to the uncertainty that waited in the darkness beyond, his will was great but his fears were always there in the back of his mind. He took a long breath, and stepped over, the coldness was a slight shock to his system but it would pass. Now, he had to find that angel before something bad happened.

Why'd I have to take this job? I don't even like spices. Alistar thought to himself while leading the caravan that hired him through the moonlit mountains. The seven day journey was nearing its end, just like his patience. The fairies he was escorting sang song after song, never once taking a breath for air. was driving him insane. The silver helmet over his head hid his now red eyes and pronounced fangs. The thirst or not eating for a week was slowly tearing him apart from the inside out, yearning to be slated, yearning for the sparkling taste of the annoying creatures fluttering through the trees.

(loud roar)

The body numbing sound put the young vampire's senses on high alert. The fairies had fallen silent , and were no longer singing, Alistar had even lost track of their presence. Did they really leave? Great. He really was happy they fled the scene, now he didn't have to worry about holding back or anybody seeing him eat. *Crack* Alistar's head snapped in the direction of the sound coming from his right. *crack*. Now from the left. *Crack* The last one from behind. The wind brought the scent of mountain cats to his nose.

Only three? Child's play. "If you thought this would be easy, You thought wrong." He didn't even see the need to pull out his sword, it'd be overkill. Using his speed he had snapped the head of the first one before it could make a sound. The wilderness filled with a crunching sound as his fangs entered the second one causing it to go limp only moments later. The sounds of brush crunching told him the third had ran away in search of safety. Smart animal. Standing up he watched as the blood on his armor began to soak into the ornate design repairing any of the imperfections in itself.

"Now to find my charges."

Octavia flinched as she heard someone come up from behind her. However, it was the unsheathing of a blade that truly terrified her. Panicked, she broke out into a full on sprint. Despite her weak appearance, she was actually quite fast. At least, fast enough to outrun her threat, she was. She ran deeper and deeper into the dark woods, desperately trying to get away from the danger behind her.

Octavia soon found a pitch black, hollowed out part of a tree, far out of her persuer's immediate reach, where she could hide. She looked around her and saw no one, the coast was clear. She quickly flapped her wings a few times to reach the hollowed out hole. Once inside, she folded up her wings behind her cloak. She pulled her hood over her face and curled up into a trembling ball. Her persuer wouldn't be able to find her here.

The veil of frost had grown over most of Octavia's soft, pale skin and the steam that escaped her lips had grown thick between exasperated breathes. Her body shook of fear and the growing cold. Around her trembling form grew several small mushrooms, a breed unfamiliar to the young angel. She reached down in carefully picked one and stared at it as she waited for the threat to pass, or at least, she hoped it would pass. "I'm such a fool...! Coming into the world of darkness...! Now I'm going to die...!" She whispered softly, her voice barely audible, yet filled with fear.

Angelo smiled as he woke up that fateful day from an inn near the border that was a regular spot for travelers and traders Angelo was able to get himself free room and board in exchange for his service for music. It was pretty standard in most places that a musician would get a free room so long as they used their craft. Angelo however didn't go straight to playing in the inn because he had other places to play, during the night he would go towards the border and play his song for dark children since it seemed more likely that they will be out during the night.

Angelo sat against a tree nearby and started to play his flute playing a soft and gentle melody letting the children know not to be afraid after a few moments of playing a little boy came over and he looked like a vampire. He was cautious but I simply smiled as I played and soon he sat down on the ground at the border. Once I finished my song he smiled a little If you liked that then you will love my next song He smiled now looking excited as I played the next song and again a few children came over curious about the music and where it was coming from. They saw me but they also saw a children of dark listening so they joined him. After my song was finished a little girl asked why Angelo was playing. because im a musician little one. A musician is meant to share his music with all not just his own kind I hope that my music will bring all of us together one day Angelo said with a smile and they looked at Angelo curiously but didn't pay his answer much mind as he played his melody for them....

Caezel repositioned himself to get a better view, but found that the forest was simply too dense. Even his enhanced eyes couldn't make out details at that distance through the darkness and past the many trees.

But he could tell the wingless demon without seeing him in detail. He could tell the demon general anywhere... Uriel, that was the name. It was his very purpose to avoid demons, who caused more trouble than they were worth. And one such as Uriel, while young enough to possibly be free of the prejudices older demons carried, was still a demon to be avoided. The last time he made contact with a Child of Darkness did not end well, and he wasn't sure that he was quite free of suspicion from that particular incident.

He watched, eyebrow raised as the cloaked figure ran at a speed to rival Caezel in his prime, easily outrunning Uriel. As it got closer, Caezel stiffened as he realized what should have been obvious. Angel. A young one, from the looks of it. More trouble than they were often worth, those angels. Before long a whole force of demons would be searching the forest, complicating life greatly. Angels do not simply run deep into demon lines he mused.

The angel had run in an off direction from where Caezel sat in a tree, but he was pretty sure he would be able to find it before others did. In fact, he reasoned, it could be beneficial to find the angel first. He wasn't entirely sure what he would do with one - but if nothing else, there would be few beings more beneficial to his... works than angels.

He hopped down from the tree, bones popping in his legs from the impact. Many years ago it would have been silent as a falling leaf (though that he could hear as well) but in his age he found his bones has the annoying habit of making noises. Another matter the angel could... help with. He made his way in the direction the angel went towards. He found it likely that it would be in The Patch; or at least near it, as it was certainly the best place in those parts to hide. Though that would make it a pain to find the angel unless it showed itself. He followed the direction of the last footsteps he heard, walking slowly, listening carefully and with a hand on his short blade just in case. Though considering the angel had run instead of fought, it would be more likely to hide than anything else. Just don't push it into a corner... He knew the danger of facing an angel cornered.

Rida had been flying through the dark forest trying to find any information she could on any demons in the area. It was her job as a scout after all. Though she was also looking to see if she could mess with one of the dark children. They were certainly far more fun to mess with than any of the children of light.

As Rida flew through the forest she looked like nothing more than a common moth. Not too out of place except for the fact that seeing any kind of bug in winter was a strange sight to see. It was at this point though that she noticed an angel running past her. And a young one at that. "Why on earth?" Rida asked herself before seeing the angel looking panicked. The most she could do was to go after the angel and try to help the child. That was when she noticed something else. It looked to be a vampire approaching where the Angel had run too. Rida knew that she couldn't do much but the best option she had right now was to distract the vampire.

Rida flew to the ground and grabbed a rock before flying above the vampire. "Hey poop head!" Rida yelled out before throwing the pebble at the vampires head. "Stop smelling like Poo!" Rida yelled before flying just out of reach of the vampire.

Naya is fitting a fresh sheet over the table when the bell chimes, followed by one flash of blue light that signified one guest; human species. "Come in, come in," she calls, smoothing out the wrinkles in the linen before turning and scowling at her new guest. "No. Absolutely not."

"B-but miss, please!" Begged a little boy, his round eyes beseeching as he clutched something covered in a gray cloth close to his chest. Against her better judgement the brunette crosses over and lifts the scrap of fabric, her scowl deepening at the sight of the dead starling that lay underneath. "I only want--"

"No," Naya interrupts, dropping the cloth. "I don't bring back the dead. Everyone knows that."

"But I only need a minute!" The child continues, heedless of her protests. "Please miss, I've had him for years and he died while I was away. I only...," the little human trails off, lip trembling and eyes going watery. "...I only want to say goodbye."

The witch falters for a moment, cursing the bit of softness she still has left for the little ones of this world. "Go fetch me a field mouse. And be quick about it, boy," she orders, taking the corpse from him. The child nods enthusiastically, racing back out into the cold to do as she says.

When he returns Naya had the little song bird spread out on the slab, a triangle of salt, lavender, and bone dust drawn out around it. "I found one," the boy tells her, holding out the tiny beast held firmly in his hands. Its little breaths are frantic and it squirms wildly in his grasp.

"Good. You know what must be done," she says, glancing between the mouse and the boy. "You can not buy a life without a life."

The boy looks horrified. "Can't you do it?"

"No, boy. It has to be you," she huffs, quirking a brow at him. "Get on with it or get out. I can't spend all morning on this."

He hesitates a moment longer and Naya is about to make him leave when he finally does the deed, the mouse's neck snapping with a sickening crack. "Good," she tells him, her voice gentler than before as she eases the creature from his hands. With deft fingers the witch pops the head off and puts it at the top of the triangle, followed by placing the heart and lungs at the other two points. Wordlessly she pulls her dagger from it's place on her hip and slices her palm, watching intently as the blood begins to well up. Gingerly she dips a finger in the liquid, glancing at her open grimoire before drawing the appropriate runes around the corpse.

She feels it welling up under her skin, an electric current that hums louder and louder until it overwhelms her and Naya can't focus on much else but the sensation of being a conduit for this dark magic.

When she can focus again the little starling is taking labored breaths, but it lets out a happy warble when it sees the boy. "Yo-you've only got five, maybe ten minutes before he passes on again," the witch pants, bracing herself against the table as she tries to get her wind back. "Best say your goodbyes fast."

She has an armful of slobbering human child before she can even blink. "Thank you," he sobs, pressing his face into her belly.

"Hush now, child," Naya scolds, but there is a hint of warmth in her voice. "Tell your friend goodbye. We'll talk about your payment later."

On shaky legs she heads back up to the front counter to give the two companions a bit of privacy.

It had taken Velia a good few minutes for her to gather her bearings and snap out of her previous anger. Her stance was now visibly more relaxed, yet her eyes still held that reddish hue and her lips were drawn up in an annoyed grimace. This laughing being had caused quite a stir in the Dark Side, as if even the rotting trees were anxious to discover the source of the bubble of warmth. All this attention was meant to be directed towards her, not some stupid child of the light. Well, if this inconviniece was a bubble- Velia intended to burst it.

The vampire, having regained her composure, once again started to dodge in and out of the foliage in her usual graceful manner. As she neared the border, an area that she was not so familiar with, an array of sounds reached her ears. What reckless people, not bothering to at least try and conceal their whereabouts. And they reeked of goodness and 'purity', causing Velia's nose to scrunch up in disgust. However, it was one scent in particular that caught her attention. A familiar one with the tinge of magic and herbs. Caezel.

Was he following the laughter too? Perhaps, just maybe, he could help her tear it limb from limb and watch the life drain from its eyes. Maybe.

Velia made to follow the familiar scent, but a movement from the corner of her eye caused her to turn. A figure was stepping from the light lands into the dark lands! She hesitated, torn between finding her fellow vampire ally and investigating this figure more thoroughly. As her keen eyes focuses on him, she groaned. Dammit. He was handsome too. "Decisions, decisions." She muttered, tapping her chin thoughtfully as if she was in some sort of drama. Screw it.

Turning away from the stranger, Velia returned to what she was originally doing and followed the scent she was sure belonged to Caezel. It wasn't long before another figure came into view, this one descending from a position in the canopy of leaves above. She tutted as multiple cracks seemed to be emitted from the figure's knees. However, it was this sound that assured the vampire knew who she was following.

Waiting until he stopped in his tracks, Velia approached the elder vampire with the stealth of a hunter. A malevolent grin stretched across her lips as she recognised his stance to be that of concealment; as if he was holding back from something. "You've become awfully loud, my darling." She purred, now standing only metres away from Caezel. She had not yet noticed who he had been watching, her full attention now trained on him. In fact, she barely even registered the fairy flying overhead.

Lucius was aware that the angel was not the only being in the darkness, besides the elf that had already crossed, there were the denizens themselves- and they were everywhere. He had two choices, play it safe or run after her and playing it safe was steadily becoming the better choice. Time was already running out, what was it? A day they said, that was the time-frame for a child of light to stay in the cursed land before it became too late. So, he tried his best to be silent as he fast-walked towards the hooded angel but he was too late, a large demon got to her first and then she bolted.

The wizard wasn't good with demon names but that had to be the General, whose legion was constantly battering with the soldiers he called friends. Lucius could not allow that fiend to lay his hands on her, but it already looked like the situation was handled. There was no way he would be able to keep up with her. His sigh of relief was quickly met with the fact that she was running deeper into the forest and quickly disappearing into the trees.

"Oh no... This is not good." Lucius whispered, his breath could be seen. He tensed up, realizing what he had to do. "Damn!"

Lucius conjured a fireball in his left hand and threw it into a decaying bush, which caught on fire. With any luck, it would provide a distraction, a bad one, but a distraction nonetheless. Then he full on sprinted towards the last direction of where the angel went. Perhaps he could find her.

He tried to remain alert but a bad feeling crept over him, this was not going to be good.

Angelo smiled as he finished playing his final song to them and the kids cheered for him loving his flute asking Angelo if he could play his songs for the people in Minora Angelo asked where it was because he knew he couldn't last very long in their world but if he could have the chance to play for people that could use a little cheering up he wouldn't deny it. Thankfully they told Angelo that It was a border town not to far from where they were. Angelo decided that in order for his music to cross both boundaries he needed to go beyond his own.

"alright children but I can only stay on your side for one day" They cheered and Angelo got up going across and he already felt the cold chill, the children then held his hands as they lead him to their town. After a few moments Angelo arrived at their little town and already he could get the sense that he was unwanted either because he was an angel or because he had a group of children with him. Angelo decided not to pay them any mind as the children lead him to a nearby square in front of an odd shop he never heard of. The children then sat down in front of him with a smile and Angelo decided to play a soft melody for them more meant to be a lullaby then a song but it would ease the tension of those around him...

Smells began coming in at a rate uncomfortably fast for him. An angel, mixed with the demon far behind, mixed with a hint of mortal and a side of Velia-

Eh? Side of Velia

He stopped to listen; the distinct scent of Velia, combined with her quiet but present footsteps. Yep, it was her alright.

Caezel supposed he shouldn't have been surprised. He knew she was around somewhere; she liked the area as he did, although probably for different reasons. And, he had to admit - while she was a wee vampire, and hardly an impressive being in raw power, she had her uses. Albeit bloodthirsty, a side effect of youth. But it wouldn't hurt to have her when going after an angel. Besides, while he would never admit it, she had a well kept appearance, although any appeal for such things was long gone. Usually.

He grunted and shook his hand in a vague gesture when she commented about his noise, no doubt the legs from earlier. Yet another reason why immortalit-

He froze when he smelled something foul, foul beyond all measure. Elf? Worse...

A rock bounced of his head, just as the scent registered, filling him with a moment of rage. Fa"ry SCUM!" His thought turned to a howl as the pebble dropped. He swooped down to pick it up and threw it in the direction of the fairy with full force, picking up a return pebble and sending that too before finishing with a dense handful of leaves. Nothing was likely to actually make impact, but throwing projectiles at fairies was nonetheless refreshing. He snarled as he threw another clump, cooling down and realizing the futility of attacking a flying creature on the ground with no proper tools for the job.

Pointless. Nothing would please him more than to slowly peel the wings of a fairy, but he certainly wouldn't be able to do it there, he told himself as the white hot moment of rage passed slowly. And there was still the tempting angel, a thought that made him feel much better.

He moved in the direction of Velia, watchful for any other projectiles coming his way. Two is always better than one he thought as he fumbled through pockets, hoping he had some sort of potion to use for the situation. Damn fairies. I haven't gotten to peel one in centuries.

".. Alistar. Sir Alistar ,please wake up." The sing-songy voice of the purple wearing fairy Styx broke through his slumber. After searching high and low for his charges he was spent, not to mention having to haul the cargo with him all the way to town. Tilting his head in her direction he made a 'hmph'.

On behalf of my sisters' and myself i wanted to say thank you. This caused Alistar to sit up, they had already paid him,so why were they thanking him. Styx must've felt the confusion on his face You didn't eat us, and you refused to eat around us. They knew, and yet they didn't run. Maybe there is still hope for this world of ours yet. This caught him off guard, yet make him happy too. Standing, He sent the fairy a wave before heading out of the town's inn.

Insert soft melody

"Where is that music coming from?" The words had just left his mouth as he picked up the scent of angel. Music + angel = trouble in paradise. without a second though he wa off towards the quiet sound which brought him to the square. Alistar watched as the angel played his song for the children in front of him.

Octavia heard the commotion outside and started to panic once more. She had been followed. However, it wasn't by the soldier that she encountered at the boarder. There were multiple different voices. A woman's, a man's, and a smaller one that she could only assume that belonged to a faerie. In the distance, she could hear the faint crackling sound of a fire. Curiousity overcame her, yet she did not dare peek out of her hiding place.

Octavia curled up tighter and trembled furiously, more now from the cold than fear; if anything, she was curious. She held her hand over her mouth and dared not to make another sound as she heard the sounds of footsteps draw near. "Please keep moving! Please keep moving! Please don't find me!" She thought silently, yet her eyes screamed with a newborn fear. She wept silently from that new fear, steam emanated from her warm tears then quickly froze after leaving her eyes. She released her mouth and watched the frost regrow on the palms of her hands. As her body grew colder, her skin somehow managed to become even paler. She needed to move again to keep warm but she dared not to do so, in risk that she might be found. All Octavia could do now was sit and wait in the form of a trembling ball, and hope that whoever was nearby would give up and leave.

Rida started to dodge all of the things that were thrown at her. She couldn't help but start to laugh after awhile. "Your funny you know that? You completely lose all of that composure you had just from me calling you poop!" Rida said laughing. Though it was due to her laughter that she found herself hit by what seemed to be a stick. She was able to recover and fly up to the sky again.

Rida then smirked. There was nothing she loved more than humiliating others, and this was the perfect opportunity. It was at this point that she noticed the fire bush. This was something that she could use to help draw them out further. "Your nothing more than a pathetic child aren't you? Throwing a temper tantrum when someone calls you a name huh? How do you expect people to ever take you seriously? Nothing more than a laughing stock?" Rida said trying to lead the vampire towards the border now.

It was as she moved back that she noticed Lucius. Rida knew she couldn't take on a vampire, atleast not two of them now. Rida had known Lucius as a powerful mage from the military. She only hoped that he would help though.

~That angel better get moving, if she's too dumb to realize an opportunity, then maybe she should just let herself get killed.~ Rida thought as she tried to lure the vampires away. She hated cowards who only tried to hide.
