So I'm going away for most of the weekend, which is bad news, but in that time, Grey should be getting back from his workcation. Roman should be coming back soon as well. I'd like to remind you all that you can make anything happen in this rp to make it fun, you just have to actually sit down and write it. ie. you don't have to wait for us. We still need to figure out what's going on in werewolf town and Remipa has some interesting characters. Go to it.

Name: Mia Rhine

Age: 49
Species: Vampire
Goals/Faction: Personal Satisfaction
Backstory:
Mia was always a strange kid. She didn't like playing with the other children, in fact she didn't like playing at all. Or at least, not by normal standards. She never told her parents about the neighbour's dog, who she stole and killed. Her parents never questioned the missing steak knife, until they found it in her room, covered in blood. She never hurt anyone, not a human anyway. But still they locked her away. A dozen psychiatrists attempted to help her, but she never saw the point. She wasn't going to be like other people, and she didn't want to be. After all, who would want to be a sheep when you can be a wolf? She was sent to an asylum after she managed to hospitalize one of her psychiatrists, lacing his tea with rat poison. Not a high enough dose, although not for lack of trying.

The asylum was perhaps where Mia fit in best. Because when nobody fits in, everybody does. To some extent she enjoyed her time here, to the surprise of everyone around her. However she never lost that little desire to see blood, the aching that had caused her to kill the dog in the first place. She was turned when a rogue vampire broke into the asylum, killing most of the inmates. The vampire found her in the nursery, stabbing a catatonic patient in the heart repeatedly. Impressed by this act of brutality he turned her, and her body accompanied her mind on the journey to inhumanity.

Since her transformation, Mia's habits haven't changed. With more power comes more possibilities, of course, and now no grownups are able to tell her what to do. She became a serial killer, hunting down humans for sport rather than nourishment. She earned a bad name among humans and vampires alike, as her viciousness offends the delicate sensibilities of many of the older vampires. And while she mainly hunted humans, she had no problem killing vampires. After all, it wasn't blood she was after, but rather the suffering the blood represented. Only the most brutal of vampires are willing to work with her, although her surprising power has formed an asset on many 'exterminations'.
Powers/Skills:
- Hemokinesis
Powers focused on blood are far from uncommon among the undead. Pure hemokinesis, however, is somewhat rarer. Mia is capable of controlling her own blood, as well as the blood of others, within an incredibly limited radius. Her control abruptly ends about 5cm away from her body, preventing her from simply killing people with a glance. However, her own blood appears to extend this radius, and she's able to control it freely outside of her body. Said blood is also the source of her power, however, and the more of it she uses outside her body the weaker she becomes. Should all of her blood be drained, it would completely incapacitate her, although it would be possible to revive her from this state if she were to be injected with more blood before her body dried up completely.

- Superhuman Strength
The unholy powers of undeath have given Mia strength and speed beyond any human. Her physical capabilities would allow her to easily participate in the olympics, were vampires allowed in those. However, they are still fairly low by vampiric standards. Furthermore, her small stature gives her a significant disadvantage in hand-to-hand combat. Her weight is sufficiently small that a strong human could relatively easily toss her across the room, even with her superior physical strength.

- Bladed Claws
Unlike most vampires, Mia doesn't drink blood through her pronounced canines. Her sharpened teeth could be considered merely a purely aesthetic alteration, as her main method of blood intake is through her claws. These claws are about 2 cm long, and extend from her fingers like tiny red daggers. Each contains a series of hollow tubes that allows her to drain blood through them, restoring herself in the process. The claws are also incredibly hard and sharp, being able to slice through metal with high difficulty. They can be broken, but the claws will grow back in 1-2 days if shattered.
Equipment/Weapons:
Mia usually carries an assortment of knives and other bladed implements. However, she mainly relies on her hemokinesis for combat.

Yeah, Hemokinesis is rather powerful, so I made it a touch-only ability.

@thewizardguy Ok I got a chance to talk to Grey tonight. He's back from his work travels now. He's been a great help to me in fully scrutinizing all our characters. I think the rp is going pretty well because of it, and he did bring up some good questions about hemokinesis. Before we ask anything, we want to know what your vision is for how to use the hemokinesis. How do you see her fighting with it? Grey and I don't want to make any suggestions without understanding your original intentions, because we want the power to remain fun and what you want it to be. Help us understand how it works so all players OC know what to expect.

So, what can she make the blood do? Can it form weapons? Can it harden? Can it be sharpened? What can it cut? How far can she extend it from her body? Can it strangle someone? Lift things? Can it inflict wounds on another person and then absorb inside of them? If that happens, then what? How long does her control last? What is the max volume she can control? If a blood extension gets cut off from her, is the end that isn't connected to her released from her control? What about dissolving blood in water or if she falls into water? If Mia is within 5 cm of (or is touching) another person, can she control all the blood in their entire body? or does her blood have to be touching their blood through a wound first? Does she have to absorb it into herself first? How fast can she move blood in general?

To what degree do we want her to have control over vampire blood? I'm really wondering if we shouldn't have vampires either be immune or resistant to the full affect of her powers. I forgot to ask Grey, but maybe she can inflict pain on them or something rather than just be able to instakill them.

Here's a scenario where I think Mia might be too OP. I was thinking about a scenario where Mia kills a human, absorbs their blood, uses that blood to form a tendril to kill another human, then via that tendril, connects with their blood, kills them, then forms more tendrils... and eventually she ends up controlling a web of hentai blood tentacles that take over the city.... This is kind of a problem. I am going to have to place a nerf whereby she has to be touching a victim (or within 5 cm) to take control of their mass of blood.

So here's how this would work. Mia kills a person, by touch or taking their blood, uses the blood to stab/kill another person, but then she has to physically go over to their body to get close enough to take control of the blood from that person. So as long as she is moving around from body to body (and these bodies don't necessarily have to be dead) she can keep adding their blood to hers and making her mass of controlled blood bigger/stronger/etc. Of course, we should probably put a limit to how much volume she can control or we still end up with city-wide bloodmaggedon. We don't have to be super specific on exactly how much volume, but just keep it less than bloodzilla.

Blood also coagulates and degrades, so she couldn't make any permanent structures with it.

What say you?

@Wraithblade6
Wow, wall of text.

She has two ways of fighting with hemokinesis. The first way is to control her own blood. She can form her blood into 'blades', but they'll be significantly weaker and less sharp than a metal blade. Able to cut flesh, but not bone or armour. They'd have a hard time getting through a proper leather coat (real leather, not the fake stuff). However, she can extend her blood beyond her body infinitely, as long as a string of it is connected to her body. Meaning that her 'range' depends on how much blood she uses, and the more blood she uses to form blades or weapons, the weaker she becomes physically. Using too much would incapacitate or kill her.

The second way is by controlling the blood of others. In order to do this, she has to pretty much touch them. She can only control blood within 5cm of her, so if she were to touch someone's chest she would be unable to, for example, control the blood in their brain. She would, however, be able to burst the blood vessels in their lungs, for example. For a human, her touch is pretty much lethal. They'll instantly start suffering from internal bleeding, and die in a matter of minutes. Vampires, however, don't need pesky things like internal organs (on the whole). As such this technique is far less useful against vampires, although blood loss can weaken them or slow them down. This is one of the reasons she prefers to fight humans.

Also, the 'strength' of the blood, or the amount of force she is able to apply to an object from range using her blood, is a bit higher than her physical strength. The amount of force could push over a car, but not lift it for any significant amount of time. Slightly stronger than your average run-of-the-mill vampire, but not exceedingly strong.

The amount of blood she is able to control at once is variable. Hypothetically she can control any amount of blood, as long as it fits within her 5cm radius. Which is not a lot of blood, honestly speaking. More dangerous, however, is the amount of blood that counts as 'her' blood. When she drinks blood she effectively converts it into 'her' blood, allowing her to control it even outside of her 5cm radius, as long as there is a string of it that leads to her body. As such, the limit for the amount of blood that counts as 'her' blood is the amount of blood that she's able to contain within her body (about 2.75 liters). She's able to contain 'her' blood outside of her body as semi-permanent blood constructs in order to bypass this limit, but blood kept this way will soon harden, and thus become inanimate. Also, the digestion process for blood takes approximately a minute, meaning she can't instantly use any blood she drinks. There must also be enough room in her body to accomodate for the new blood in order for her to drink blood, for obvious reasons.

Vampires are inherently resistant to the application of her powers, so I'm not sure why you would need to make them resistant to the effect of them as well. Her main method of killing (internal bleeding and organ damage) is practically useless against most lineages of vampires, and significantly reduced in effectiveness against regenerating werewolves.

And yes, she does need to enter the 5cm radius to control the blood of strangers, still. And she can only 'digest' the blood through her claws (although she can also control it into her claws).

I personally think that the character sounds interesting and has cool powers... So where exactly is the RP going to be heading now? Mithias has been captured by Bedivere, who wants nothing to do with the rest of the characters, and everyone else is either awol or in a van.

Very well I suppose.

Also, just a general vote here, we are planning to move things back into the U.S/ Solider Turf. Anyone have any objections? or would we prefer like a gm'd mini mission in Europe to stop a German Vampire named... Herr Krapp?

Why not both? I think we have more then enough staff right now. And if not I can pull up some older characters of mine. Though I need to get past writer's block on the ones I have right now.

No objections. The soldier squad is currently on their way to the small island of Guernsey where a helicopter is waiting for them
