@CreedTheChimera
The reason for that is me. I take full blame for that. Sorta got absorbed into a game.....not a good reason ,but it's the only one I got.

And for a small explanation: when a pokemon is captured by a pokeball, they immediately become obedient to the trainer's every word, and since letter bee went with the anime world where this is true rather than the manga world where trainers ACTUALLY HAVE TO FUCKING TRAIN AND BOND WITH THEIR POKEMON BEFORE THEY DO WHAT THEY SAY, the only logical thing that would cause this is mind control, which the psionic powers that be amongst the swarm can reverse, essentially causing your actions to give them reinforcements and a snack. BY THE WAY PIKACHU'S A GIRL FOR THOSE THAT DON'T KNOW

Ash's Pikachu is male, actually. If it were female, the tail would be heart-shaped instead looking like a bolt of lightning.

It does, however, pikachu's gender was established in gen 1 before gender differences were physical thing, so it's female even if it physically doesn't look it.

@Tyki, actually, in first season of the Anime, one of Ash's shticks was winning the respect of the Pokemon in his team, including Pikachu and Charizard (especially Charizard), and his conflict with Gary was because the latter, for some time, used brute strength to overawe his Pokemon - although he doesn't do that anymore.

At the same time, though, Unova (an otherwise bad season) establishes Pikachu as vulnerable to an Attract from a female Pokemon, establishing him as male or as a lesbian, if her.

I am mixing the spirit of Pokemon's first season with the technical details of later ones.

Sorry for delay. Connection is bad.

however, there's the issue of that fluxuating so i guess it's up to personal preference. mine is for pikachu to be female so menh. Outside of that, the only point at which ash cared about earning the respect of his pokemon was in the first season, all later seasons were pretty much "you wanna be strong like us? then do what i say" plus, there are occasions when trainers force pokemon to do what they say even on the rare occasion that they don't like each other. This is, of course, not thinking about the fact that ash may very well already be dead after the first episode's lightning strike, a very popular theory and one i personally support just simply because IT'S BEEN ROUGHLY 12 YEARS AND HE'S STILL 12. Outside of that, you're still left with the issue that pokemon just suddenly lose all forms of agency in the anime, and alot of them are trapped in their pokeballs for untold amounts of time and only able to come out for plot convenience or to do battle with other pokemon, that doesn't help their psyche at all. Now, even if you can discount all of that and more, there's still the fact that gym badges are supposed to be able to help you control more powerful pokemon. I see no reason this would be neccessary if the pokemon were, in fact, acting of their own accord and listening to you out of free will.

True, but my headcanon for this RP is that the events of the later seasons are only a dumbed-down version of what really happened, and that Ash had been acting like First Season Ash all along, it just didn't get illustrated. Basically, the Ash Osamu Akiyama acted may be an idiot, but did not suffer the decay in characterization of later seasons...

They've actually been bringing his character back for the latest season since they're thinking about ending it :V

Either way, the person doesn't change the universe. I personally prefer the mangas over the anime due to a depth and more mature take on the universe. i.e. the lady that took a bath with her tentacool, zombie pokemon, actual death, etc.

1.) Yes!

2.) On the one hand, point. On the other hand, one can argue that the first season was a different universe from the later seasons, if only due to inconsistencies with it. Plus, one should remember that Osamu Akiyama only brought characters from the first season along - aka people who Ash eventually got to respect their Pokemon.

Still gonna stick with it as is just simply because trainers are professional dog fighters. You can make a dog you have fight respect you, that doesn't mean it's not going to turn on you and tear your throat out if you let it, and they're being let do so.

@Tyki, well, @supertinyking suggested a countermove over PM, but Osamu going along with that would cost him Takeru and Hikari's support.

So I'm angry now.
