For a student of the art of Ars Invocato, the invoking technique, the journey through this magical academy is both challenging and intriguing. Students train to become Invokers, who have the ability to call upon beings from other realms. More advanced invokers can manifest beings from their imaginations.
L'Mordryn's student body is divided into four houses based on the beings that the students specialize in invoking: House Phantasma, House Machina, House Bestia, and House Dracona.
House Phantasma maintains an aura of mysticism among its members. Curious and whimsical, they are often engrossed in their studies of the spiritual world. Specialties in this house range from angels and specters to demons and elementals. Though some members seem flighty at times, others carry an aura of darkness.
The members of House Machina are placid and reserved. These straight-laced invokers are the quintessential nerds of L'Mordryn. Analytical, logical, and precise, this house embraces technology over all. Machines and tech of all kinds are studied here including old-world (steampunk), new-world (cyberpunk), and outer-world (alien tech).
House Bestia is home to the unruly bunch of L'Mordryn. Savage and untamed, these students are truly fit to invoke creatures of the animal world. From beasts that swarm the oceans and roam the tundras to beasts that rule the skies and dominate the plains, House Bestia has all areas covered. Though they may appear uncivilized, the members of House Bestia are fun-loving, outspoken, and always in search of a good time.
House Dracona carries an air of refinery and sophistication. Members of this house are extremely arrogant and believe very strongly that they are the house above all. This attitude is not unwarranted, however, as they specialize in invoking dragons, which are quite rare and difficult to work with. It takes a special talent to invoke these creatures, and these students have no shortage of skill nor smarts. They specialize in several different types including wyverns, hydras, basilisks, (standard) dragons, drakes, and wyrms.
The Art
Ars Invocato involves a link between the Invoker and the summoned being. Invokers use their abilities to open gates to other realms and ‘call’ upon beings that they are compatible with.
Say, for example, an invoker wanted to summon something simple like a falcon. He or she would basically search the realms for a falcon that was compatible and 'mind link’ with the falcon. The falcon could then be called through a gate to the invoker’s location. A weak or severed link would result in a failed summon and the falcon won't come. In order to have a strong link, an invoker must have solid knowledge about the being they are summoning.
Invokers can eventually advance to a level where they can manifest creatures from their imaginations. This requires perfect knowledge of the being that is summoned. It is extremely difficult at first, as it is nearly impossible to have a connection with something that doesn't exist outside of the invoker's mind. As the ability is practiced and the invoker's powers grow, summoning becomes easier and even more complex.
Structure
L'Mordryn has 24 mentors who teach the students in small scheduled group sessions. When students are not in a mentor session, he or she is free to study and train. Students enter the academy at age fifteen at Tyro level. After a year, students are then able to advance in level to Adept, then to Virtuoso, and, finally, to Master. Each level is split into two tiers based on a student's ability: tier 1 is regular while tier 2 is for advanced students. Students are given regular evaluations and exams to monitor their progress.
Tyro Students at this level are just beginning their studies of Ars Invocato. Tyros learn to concentrate their powers on searching the realms and opening gates.
Adept, Tier 1 (A1) These students have shown competency with Ars Invocato. They can summon basic beings such as small animals, lesser spirits, and simple tech. Their links are, at times, weak or easily severed.
Adept, Tier 2 (A2) Students in the second tier have proven to be more capable at invoking and can build stronger links with their summons. Though they have little trouble invoking beings of a slightly higher quality than A1 students, they still have a lot to learn. Some rather gifted A2 students have shown capability for invoking multiple beings at once, though oftentimes, the links are not as strong.
Virtuoso, Tier 1 (V1) This level is reserved for students who have excelled in their study of Ars Invocato. Invoking higher beings is a breeze and nearly every summon is solid and harmonious. Holding multiple summons at once is much easier for a Virtuoso level invoker as well. Students at this level begin to experiment with creating summons from their mind.
Virtuoso, Tier 2 (V2) These students are just shy of mastering Ars Invocato and taking their studies to the next level. They have extraordinary magical talent and no problem invoking powerful and complex beings or creating original summons from their thoughts.
Master, Tier 1 (M1) These students have taken Ars Invocato to the next level. Master students have zero problems invoking extremely dynamic beings with ease. Many Master level students can hold strong links with multiple beings while exerting little effort.
Master, Tier 2 (M2) M2 students are even more capable than their first tier counterparts. They are the elite of L'Mordryn and have shown flawless execution of Ars Invocato in every aspect.
Each mentor instructs students from two houses. Each session has 18 students from each house.

Dorms The dormitory building is easily one of the largest structures at L'Mordryn. It features an immense common area that is shared by all students. Each of the four houses then has its own dormitory that branches off of the main commons. Every house dorm has a fully-furnished day room where students can relax. The actual sleeping quarters are held in towers made up of six floors with eight four-person rooms on each floor. The floors are separated by gender with four boys’ rooms and four girls’ rooms on each side of the tower. House dormitories are closed during the night, so students are not allowed to wander the school or enter the dorms of other houses after hours.
Minus the kitchen, which will just be a foyer
East Library One of L'Mordryn's two massive libraries located in the east wing of the school. The ambiance of the room is slightly dark and mysterious with lower lighting and Gothic decor. In the middle of the library is a large globe that goes green with magical energy.
West Library The larger of the two libraries if only by a little. The West Library has larger windows to allow more sunlight in making it more inviting. This room sports a monstrous animal skeleton that is suspended from the ceiling.
Galleria The main gathering place for students and mentors. This is where assemblies and events are held. The massive room has high vaulted ceilings that make it appear even more cavernous.
Cafeterias (A and B) Students gather at one of these buildings to eat meals. Each cafeteria is designed in a food court style with several small cafes serving a different kind of food for each meal.
Courtyards (East, West, South) L'Mordryn has three spacious courtyards decked out with gazebos, fountains, benches, and tables. Students can hang out here during free sessions as well as on weekends.
Clubhouses (Onyx, Alabaster, Slate) Available for clubs to use for meetings during the weekend. Each clubhouse is equipped with facilities and amenities to host a variety of clubs.
Fitness Center Students and staff alike can come here to work out. Contains several weight sets and other equipment. Open only to students who are Adept level and above.
Arena A separate building located on the southern end of the school's grounds. Students can come here to train and develop their battling prowess. Contests held at the school are hosted here. The arena doesn't open until 2nd session and closes at the end of 6th session.
Dracona Aviary A simply massive aviary that comfortably houses a number of different dragons to watch and study. Open only to students in House Dracona that are Adept level and above. Adept level students must have an escort, which can be a mentor or another student who is Virtuoso or Master level. Virtuoso and Master level students are allowed to go without an escort.
Bestia Reserve A sprawling animal reserve containing an endless variety of land creatures as well as aquatic beasts. Open only to students in House Bestia that are Adept level and above. Adept level students must have an escort, which can be a mentor or another student who is Virtuoso or Master level. Virtuoso and Master level students are allowed to go without an escort.
Machina Workshops A substantially sized facility with numerous tech labs featuring all levels of technology. Open only to students in House Machina that are Adept level and above. Adept level students must have an escort, which can be a mentor or another student who is Virtuoso or Master level. Virtuoso and Master level students are allowed to go without an escort.
Phantasma Sanctuary A large mystical temple-like building with a sizeable garden and a nearby cemetery. Open only to students in House Phantasma that are Adept level and above. Adept level students must have an escort, which can be a mentor or another student who is Virtuoso or Master level. Virtuoso and Master level students are allowed to go without an escort.
Infirmary Students who need medical attention are sent here. There is a section for long-term care as well as an emergency ward.
Headmistress' Chambers Headmistress Woruk's chambers are, naturally, located in the highest tower of the academy. Students must have an appointment to see the headmistress and are otherwise not allowed in this area.
Mentor's Village Mentors who choose to live close to the academy are provided with a home in the Mentor’s Village located a few kilometers outside of the school grounds proper.
The Red Door A gigantic ornate red door located in the Crimson Lyceum that is magically sealed. There is no indication of where it leads or how to open it as it has no handles or knobs. Several theories exist among the student body as to its purpose.
Clubs
Clubs are run by students and sponsored by a mentor. The headmistress must approve a club before it is implemented and reserves the power to end a club’s gathering. Clubs meet on weekends and can be held in a clubhouse, the Galleria, the Arena, or in one of the courtyards.

• In-game, we will be students that are either Tyro, Adept, or Virtuoso level. Starting out, you will be free to play as you wish (rigorous study to level/tier up, create trouble for mentors while barely maintaining acceptable grades, train to become battle experts, build relationships, etc.)
• There will be a two-character limit for now; they can be in different houses.
• There will be a Discord chat (eventually); either Discord or the OOC is fine for discussion, though Discord is preferred because it's faster
• Ask me anything, I don't bite
• Try not to outpace the other players; have a reasonable gap between your posts. You don't have to wait for absolutely everyone because we have a good number of people, but keep it steady. If an issue arises, I'll do my best to remedy the situation.
• Please respect everyone and, most importantly have fun!!
I have a request of everyone! I want to have some extra things to do at L'Mordryn, so I'm gonna have clubs...but I need more ideas. So far I have Herbology Club, Alchemy Club, and Skirmisher's Club. So if you guys have any ideas, please send 'em my way.
@Crowvette CS looks good...for some reason I can't see the picture tho
@Crazy Scion That's perfectly acceptable. Nothing wrong with a little chaos. ^_^ I'm gonna work on getting the OOC up today after work, so look forward to that, everyone!
I'm planning on my characters to be in Bestia and Dracona, in case anyone was curious. Just to balance some of the pool. If anyone feels like they wanna switch, you can, but please don't feel obligated to do so.
Also, my count was a little off, so I fixed it. ^_^ I'll include my characters, as well.
@Dragonydas CS looks solid. No changes I can see. :-) Just FYI, everyone, here's a count of how many are in each house so far: Machina - 5 Bestia - 1 Phantasma - 6 Dracona - 1
