Bio

This is my second profile on here, and I have been Play-By-Post RPing for about nine years now. I do my best to see every RP to the end or at least let my character come to his/her own dramatic conclusion when I feel like signing off. Just like novel writing in real life, I tend to find myself on long hiatuses. Since writing is a great way to work out your brain, I try stay engaged as much as possible.

My favorite genres include futuristic worlds, mysteries, and super powers. Any mixture of these three elements will peek my interest.

It's your turn to post, whenever you get the time. We just need a time laps of what your character was doing/thinking up until his match. And you can end with him stepping into the arena.

Round 1 Continues!

Following Bakuto's epic victory, the tournament only got more intense from there...

The second match of Round 1 was between the two MMA world champions, a highly anticipated match indeed. Jackson, the champion of the men's division was the overall favorite, but his opponent Fantasia was not to be taken likely. In fact, despite the size difference between the two, the match was quite even. For every high powered move Jackson pulled out, Fantasia countered with blinding speed. Still, when Jackson's attacks did hit, they did more damage. In the end, it was Jackson by a hair.

The third match of Round 1 was between the King of Europe himself, the kickboxer named Wallace, and his opponent Lee, a relatively unknown martial artist from Asia. While Wallace had a larger fan base going into the match, there were rumors surrounding Lee, heroics about him saving small villages and towns from multiple invaders. At the beginning of the match, things seemed even, with both combatants going toe to toe, matching each other's moves almost perfectly. Then, all of a sudden, Lee struck Wallace with an attack that sent him flying out of the ring, even though his punch appeared to stop short a good foot in front of Wallace's chest.

The fourth match was the most highly anticipated match of the round, not because of the reputation of both fighters, but more so, the reputation of one, Micheal, the reigning champion. He had one the last two tournaments, making him the champion for ten years running. A master of every known martial art (as well as a few unknown ones), his name had become synonymous with victory. His opponent was Ivanik a mysterious fighter with a dark aura, rumored to be a killer. Their match began with a flurry of blows. Between Micheal switching between fighting styles and Ivanik's unpredictable yet calculated movements, this match was looking to be much closer than anticipated. That was until Micheal retreated to the corner of the ring in a mad dash. There, he took a deep breath with closed eyes. Ivanik tried to attack in this moment, but when his fist was mear inches from Micheal's face, the savvy champion moved his head just enough to avoid the attack and get in close for a dangerous match ending blow. Despite being hit multiple times, Micheal walked out of the arena without any signs of damage, while his opponent was left on the ground twitching.

After a brief intermission, the tournament continued with another highly anticipated match, the first, and only guaranteed, "girl fight". In one corner, Rica stood quietly, another mysterious martial artist. She was seen talking to Lee multiple times backstage. In fact, neither one of them spoke with anyone besides each other, but their conversations were always short and under hushed breaths, making their relationship as mysterious as themselves individually. Sammy, on the other hand, was a much more "known factor". She grew up with a dark past as a backroom cage fighter in the USA, eventually becoming a dangerous name on the international stage. Then, one day she retired from that life and began to use her skills to break up their dark industry she became so famous for. This match, between these two female warriors, was very intense, but again, it was the mysterious martial artists that won. Rica walked off the stage with many cuts and bruises, but at least she could walk.

And then there was the sixth match. In one corner, there was Niko, the wiry, relatively unknown youth with a hazy past. In the other corner stood Kyro, an up and coming legend in the martial arts world, following in the footsteps of his master... Micheal, the champion himself....

Okay, I'm going to go ahead and make my next post which will catch us up to events all the way to Eclipe's battle. Then it will be me versus @FalloutJack.

Also, in case anyone is wondering. When there is a battle going on, anyone can still post. Of course if you're not the one fighting, you're posts are probably going to be your character's reactions to the fight that is happening.

Admins and Moderators,

I am writing to share an idea that is many years in the making.

I've been a part of this roleplaying community from year one, when I was in high school. (I'm 28 years old now.) I took a few years off at one point and had to make this account five years ago. I think my old screen name was YinYangMan. In any case, this community has influenced me so much, not only in my writing, but in life.

What I want to share with you is a business idea that was inspired by this site. I wrote the business plan nearly three years ago, when the idea first formed. Two years ago, I made it into a LLC under the name Infinity Fiction. Since then, I have been trying to bring the idea to life. I had a friend who claimed to be a top notch web designer, who failed to create the website as I imagined it. Not that it was his fault, but my final vision is a highly functional website/app, perhaps too much for any one developer. I could see where I wanted to go, but not exactly how I should get there.

At first, I was planning on getting the site up and running. Then I was going to approach you all, the staff of this site, to see if you would want to join and merge forces. I've come to the realization that this is impractical. I can't get the site made first, I don't have the resources. It would be better (and I wish I would have realized this sooner) if we worked together on this from the beginning.

To be clear, I am not asking you all to invest time and money into some outside thing, at least not any time soon. First, what I would like to do is start a new persistent world called "Infinity Fiction". Here I would test my ideas and show that they can work. One of the main ideas in this project will be that people are only allowed to write in this world during designated times when a moderator has agreed to be online. Of course, I would be the one doing this, and I would be doing this on a purely voluntary basis. I would be online to moderate, two hours a day, every day, at the same time each day. Later, if able, I could dedicate more time to moderating. Also, players could volunteer time to moderate as well. Eventually, I would want the world to have a moderator(s) online for a good portion of every day.

I won't go into more detail on the project at the moment. Instead I would like you all to get to know me a little better. I want you all to understand how serious I am about making this work and how confident I am that it WILL work.

I grew up in a middle class family from TN. Both my parents worked in a factory (and still work there to this day). I made good grades in high school and got through college on a combination of scholarships, student loans, restaurant work, and the occasional help from my parents. I got my bachelor's degree in business management. While in college, I studied abroad and was the president of the International Business Association for a few years.

After college, I stayed in the restaurant industry while I was deciding how best to use my talents. I knew I wanted to start a business, but I didn't know what kind. I also knew I loved to write, so I spent my off time writing a book and roleplaying on this site. Then it hit me, I should find a way that we (people who love to roleplay write) could make a living off of doing what we love. That's what led me to this project.

Today, I am a self-published author with a family of my own and great big idea to share. I am also practically unemployed as my restaurant has closed its dining room and bar, but they have decided not to close and keep their to-go's open. As a server/bartender and technically a part time employee, I'm screwed. They haven't laid me off, and I am technically still employed, even though I'm not getting any shifts to work. So I'm receiving no compensation as of yet and getting no hours to work. Luckily, I have enough saved to get by for the next month or two.

All this is to say, I would really appreciate the chance to show you all what I believe is possible. This is not something I've came up with over night. It is a huge undertaking, but I have the motivation to do things right. I also have the motivation to achieve big results FAST. And if you let me start a persistent world here, I know it can be done. Give me two weeks, and you will all be able to clearly see what I'm talking about.

This involves no risk or cost for anyone but myself (as I will be volunteering my time to get things done). And if it all works out as envisioned, we may all find ourselves on the ground floor of something VERY BIG.

Thanks for your time.

Please feel free to ask me more.
@FalloutJack@BladeSS4 Nice posts people.

@Darkmoon Angel Looking forward to it!

Good times!

@BladeSS4 and I are done with our battle. If everyone can, I'd like everyone to get one IC post in, to show their reactions to our match and their own character's thoughts. After everyone posts once, I'll move us on to the next match, which will be Eclipes (i.e. @FalloutJack)

Bakuto vs Rhine

As Bakuto circled Rhine, the crowd grew more and more quiet in anticipation. Everyone could tell the same things, that this final attack would decide the fate of the battle. And they were right...

The stadium roars for Bakuto, as Rhine falls to the ground unconscious!

Bakuto vs Rhine

As the match continued, the crowd began choosing sides and growing in volume. They chanted both combatants names and roared when their fighter landed a solid blow. Unfortunately for Rhine's fans, they had little to roar about. No matter what he did, Bakuto stayed one step ahead of him. And the longer they fought, the larger the difference between them grew.

The fighting came to a stand still. The air was frozen. At least, that's how it felt for Rhine, when he found himself with just a few feet of distance between him and Bakuto. He had to change his tactics, this was going nowhere fast. It was time to return to his element. No more running around, trying to match this man's speed. Instead, he would wait for the opponent to come to him. He would wait all day if he had to, and he would attack when the time was right.

-Tai-Chi Counter Measures Serious
Remaining Health: 33
Available Power: 50
-- Attack 20 x2 = 40
- Speed 0
--- Defense 30
Alright I think I fixed it, if I see correctly with the 'serious' moves one stat has to be lowered right? I think I put it together right.Lowering def to that is dividable by 10 while putting 2 times the serious stat which would be speed for Serious Speed

Actually, I didn't lower any stats before I did the SERIOUS multiplier, at least not because of the multiplier. My guy took seven damage, and half of seven is 3.5. I rounded up to 4 for your benefit. Thus his total available power level became 66

Your guy only took 3 damage from his own recoil, so half of that would be 1.5. In this case, we might as well round to 2, because odd numbers don't help anything. So your total power available should now be 108. Simply split up that 108 between your three stats (keeping in mind your character's spread), then multiply one of those stats by 2 for the SERIOUS boost.

So the bottom of your post should look something like this...

-Focus- Serious Speed
Remaining Health: 107
Available Power: 108
** Attack-40
*** Speed- 50 x2 = 100
* Defense- 18

I added the asterisks to remind us which stats are favored in your focus spread. Also, I added the Remaining Health and Available Power fields to keep track of damage and power. If you look at my last IC post, you'll see where I added those fields to my character as well.

You can tweak what I did in the example above. Just make sure that the stats all add up to 108 (pre-SERIOUS boost), and make sure they remain distributed correctly (i.e. defense isn't stronger than attack and such).

If I was you, I would either keep it how I've shown above OR move more points from attack into speed. It's all up to you.
I would prefer you change your latest post and leave your character sheet how it is. Also, the SERIOUS boost isn't a one time thing. You would probably do best to start using it now. You can use it any time, on one of the three stats.

We'll still allow the damage done by your post before this last one, though. No need to go that far back.
