Current It's been a year since I had to put my dog to sleep. I miss him. 16 years was a long time to have together, but it still wasn't enough to me.

50% of my friend group says "Fuck elves!", while the other 50% says "Fuck elves ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)".

"Dear Humanity, we regret being alien bastards. We regret coming to Earth. And we most DEFINITELY regret that the Corps just blew up our raggedy-ass fleet!"

Okay. I'll work on hammering it out after work.
After a very difficult event in my life, I'm looking to ease back into RP. I want to keep RPs a little more lowkey, though I have a few ideas that are slightly less lowkey and would involve a little bit of world-building, namely an idea for a dinosaur apocalypse setting that involves timey-wimey shenanigans.
Sorry for the delay. Things have been… difficult IRL.

Specifically, are not-Super Sentai/not-Power Rangers series a thing? That's sort of the angle I was going for.
Sorry for the delay. The idea that I had is entirely dependent on one thing: have kaiju and mecha genres been a thing in the timeline?
Happy New Year, everyone! I'll likely add a couple plot ideas to the original post soon.
@Stern Algorithm I'd appreciate that. Hope your New Year's Eve goes well.
I keep hitting a wall when it comes to writing. I have a general idea of a backstory, but I'm not sure if it would work.
Yui kept quiet, observing the others. She felt she would have trouble with Shinozaki and Mason. Their personalities seemed purely driven by emotion, which was something she didn't gel well with. Best to keep them at arm's distance and try to assess them. The others, though, she could get along with as long as they didn't do anything too unexpected. Finding a river or stream seemed logical enough, and she nodded.

She followed the group, finding herself at the tail end as they walked. Herzal seemed fascinated by the leaves. It was an oddity to say the least, but not something that particularly piqued her interest. However, something did get her attention: the feeling of being watched. The hairs on the back of her neck were standing on end. Yui began looking around.

There, in the bushes!

She could see a pair of bright green eyes in the shrubs, maybe about a meter off the ground. Whatever it was, it didn't seem to be afraid of them. More curious than anything. Not wanting to scare whatever it was, Yui reached out to the person closest to her and tugged on their clothing. Yui didn't dare look away from the eyes, lest their owner decide to flee into the woods.

Name: Ryuuto Olin
Age: 21
Nationality: Half-Japanese, half-American
Position: Pilot, Project Colossus
Appearance: Slightly shorter than most men around his age at 162.6 cm. He has scars from several surgeries involved in becoming a pilot.
Personality:
Relatively quiet, and prefers to let his actions speak instead of his words. Ryuuto comes from a troubled family, and while he bears no physical scars, the psychological scars are evident, namely in that he dislikes being touched, and always positions himself with his back to a solid object and having everyone in a room in easy sight. What he lacks in physical strength he more than makes up for with analytic skills; where other pilots might try to muscle through an encounter, Ryuuto analyzes kaiju for any weakness that can be used against it.

Backstory:
Ryuuto grew up in a mixed family. His father was a businessman, while his mother worked as a nurse. Unfortunately, Ryuuto's father would often drink and lose his temper, and struck both his son and his wife on multiple occasions. It wasn't uncommon for the two parents to argue, and Ryuuto would often distract himself from their fighting by watching tokusatsu. Watching heroes fight villains for the sake of justice instilled a strong sense of right and wrong in the boy, and he tried to live like his heroes. However, it became obvious as he became older that the world wasn't like Justice Sentai. Things were rarely black and white, and the world was a confusing muddle of grays. He withdrew into himself, and had very few friends outside the internet.

After failing to join the JSDF, he was approached by an individual who was looking for someone. Physically and mentally speaking, he was almost perfect for the project. All he needed was a little fine tuning. Ryuuto was curious about the project, and was quickly drafted into Project Colossus.
@Stern Algorithm Will get around to it either later tonight or tomorrow.
