Because asking the mods "gib power" is a much better bid than demonstrating a groundswell of supporters, right? #Wraith4Mod2K19

Hey @Omega Man, I'm pretty interested in this RP and right now I'm trying to make Vigilante, based off the cowboy dude that appeared in the JLU cartoon. I want to make him a full Leaguer considering the dearth of them you seem to have right now, but I'm having a bit of a problem feeling out how powerful he should be.

The way I see it, there are really two main types of Justice League Heroes, fighters and Batman. Fighters are everyone who isn't named Batman, with actually useful powers and equipment that allows them to fight people like Darkseid. Then there's Batman, master tactician and planner who doesn't actually need to throw hands to get things done.

My problem with creating Vig is I think it'd spoil his character a bit to just hand him superpowers, and making Batman-But-A-Cowboy would feel dumb. My solution to this is to give him a list of useful equipment that lets him actually be effective in combat against League villains instead of just being a cowboy who walked into the wrong saloon. I'm wondering: How much is too much? And, as a sampler, here are some of the ideas I was considering:

Special Cylinders: In the comics, Vigilante died and was resurrected. No one's really sure exactly how the Resurrection happened(according to Wikipedia), but in my version I'm writing it as if he had a stint of being a cowboy in hell, where he got the handful of magic items. The main one of these would be two special revolver cylinders. One fires infinite bullets that are somewhat weak, the other can fire six golden bullets every forty-eight hours. These golden bullets have the power of a pretty solid Superman punch.

Collapsible Rocket Launcher: Developed by Wayne Tech and stored in the saddlebags of his Motorbike. Breaks it out when the situation calls for it.

Is this too much? I'd really like to see him involved with the League and I don't really seem him being effective if all he's got is a handful of lead rounds.
Hey, sorry for unceremoniously disappearing. I can see about posting by sometime tonight, if you'll still have me.
@Burning Kitty This sheet looks good - except the make-any-item thing. That would trivialize most any conflict. I can allow a set number of blueprints that they can generate, or something like that. Like, maybe theyre programmed to create an AK, a set of lockpicks, etc...

As far as the force bubble goes... I mean at maximum effort. The literal strongest bubble tha it is physically possible for her to produce, whatever size that may happen to be.

@DracoLunaris I dig it. Accepted!

@Goldmarble Sounds like a BAMF. Accepted.

@ZeroCueroYessir. Was thinking about starting the IC proper tomorrowish? Applications would, of course, remain open.
@Burning Kitty I'm not saying she has to apply is scientifically. I'm just saying, 'intelligence' vaguely isn't really a skill, more of a personality trait. A skill with applied intelligence would be something more like an understanding of Particle Physics, or, more practically, being a demolitions expert.

What do you mean by size and force applied? Is there a maximum size? How much force would it take to crack the sucker open at her max effort?
@Cuccoruler Rad, accepted. Although, pro-tip, change Bob's name to be either Hugh or Murray to be named after either Huginn or Muninn. Not a big deal at all, though.
@ZeroCuero Yessir.

@ArenaSnow Well, that's a shame. Hope you enjoy greener pastures, wherever you may find 'em.
@Burning Kitty Nice sheet. I'd just ask that the History be made a little longer. Also, what are we talking for max strength on the force shield? And you mention she's very intelligent - how does she apply this intelligence? Is she a skilled Chemist? Physicist? Scientist Supreme?

@ArenaSnow What makes you say that, if you don't mind my asking?

@Sisyphus Yep, you're clear to move her.

@ZeroCuero I dig it. Welcome aboard.
@ZeroCuero It varies mission to mission. Sometimes they're assigned to capture someone and drag them back to base for a 'fair trial' in a Kangaroo Court. Other times, it means being deployed to murderalize the shit out of someone.

@Cuccoruler I dig it! Only have one complaint, and that's the skills section. Is his only notable skill that he's got a pretty good intuitive understand of Construction? He doesn't know how to fight any better than a regular person or anything like that? If he doesn't, that's okay, but I wanted to clarify. Also, if you prove yourself to me in RP, I'd totally be up with upgrading you with a few more Odin powers.

@Dusty I really like him! Seems ripe for growth as a character. Only problem is the equipment - to what extent are his arrows specialized? Are we talking really just Explosive Arrows, or are we including things like Boxing Glove arrows, splinter arrows, etc.? Also, before each engagement, I think I might want to go over what gear specifically he specially packs for each engagement. Also, how strong are his explosives? About how many can he bring per fight? Are they set-and-forget explosives, or grenades?

@MonkeyBusiness Yep, I'll PM you shortly.

@Black AliceI'll make sure to keep it in mind.

@Sisyphus Accepted! Also, you're looking for Private there on Identity. A public identity is more for someone like Luke Cage.

@Ghost QueenHmm... I'm willing to accept that, but I'm gonna ask for some heavy restrictions. Like, only once in a while, can't be used on other PCs without permission, etc. That much kelvin is a lil too much to be flinging around wily nily.
There is one true constant across all worldwide metahuman activity. More than any consistent powers, faces, or conflicts. That constant is…

It’s been twenty years since the dawn of the age of Metahumans - by most people’s reckoning, anyways. Metahumanity has become a staple of life. Go to work, school, pop by the store, see Jimmy down the road, and watch some shitbag catch a jet airliner in the face on live TV.

Still, knowing a Metahuman personally is rare - the chances for Metahumanity are calculated to be, roughly, 1-in-a-million. But they more than make up for their low numbers in bodycount.

The first ‘superhero’ anyone can remember is a fellow by the name of War Child. Powerless himself, War Child decided it would be a great idea to stop Bank Robbers by firing an RPG at them. While they were inside the bank.

The world is fixated upon the duels between immensely powerful Heroes and Villains, but few care about the destruction their battles tend to leave behind. Metahumanity has become one of the single most destructive forces on the planet. Some argue the destruction is unfortunate, but necessary, to stop the “bad guys” from causing even more damage. Others beg to differ.

Welcome to Collateral Damage, the Superhero RP that concerns itself with as much action and mayhem as possible in and around New York City. The idea here is to have a sandbox environment where the players will craft their own stories - though I do have a few grand-scale plots up my sleeve.

The tone that is being shot for is, broadly speaking, fun but violent. Battles will be huge, explosive, and have a large price tag associated with clean up. Some degree of realism is expected, although many times, things will default to Rule of Cool. That said, I still expect some honest role playing, instead of someone that runs around blowing shit up 100% of time.
