Current I've gone back to school, so responses are going to be slower than normal for the forseeable future.

Took me 10 years to realize antagonists are way more fun to write.

"A million times I have done this charade. The moment people figure it out, I get the boot." she thought.

"But don't you want to see the fear in their eyes when they see who you really are...? Don't you want dominion of this place, just like how you were unchallenged in Vaal Kastrix?" said the Voice.

Ciara scoffed, immediately thinking of Gulliver and Valen. "I'd love to wipe the smirk off their faces."

"It starts by building a rumor. A rumor of power. This could be the place to start."

She took a deep breath, narrowing her eyes resolutely at the Undermage. "Head Advisor, with all due respect, you have no right to ask me about my intentions. If you want answers..."

She stood from her seat, rising to her full height.

"You'll have to duel me for them."

Her breath caught when she felt the cold metal of a pistol against her temple.

"Put the heart down, and back the hell up if you want your friend to live," the guard said to Ellie in a rumbling baritone, digging the gun into Dream's head.

Dream squinted at Ellie, vision blurred as she tried to breathe. The heart, glinting in Ellie's hands.

The doctor, his face turning white every time she asked what would happen if they failed. Above all else, he said, they had to keep the heart safe. They had to, even if it meant...

She snarled, her boot stamping down on the guard's foot, a burst of light bruising the bone. He yelped, losing his grip. That's all she needed, and she tore away. But in her haste, she saw his free arm reaching for her, and she slipped on panicked feet as he pushed her off the railing.

She held back a scream, staring straight down into the boiling pit below. The guard wrapped a tight hand around her ankle, and Ellie could see Dream's other foot flailing; she restrained herself poorly from kicking the guard, desperately hoping she wouldn't die.

As her captor supported himself against the railing, his pistol pointed at Ellie.

"I'll drop her, I swear I'll drop her!"

Deep, golden orbs stared back at her from within the cave.

God, she couldn't breathe.

He was monstrous. The ground trembled under her feet as his rippling, massive body exited the cave. Thunderous footsteps left cracks in the dirt, his breath sent waves of heat creeping over her skin. The transformation was slow, but it looked like something from a nightmare with the way his long teeth were bared.

A great and terrible roar sounded from his gaping maw.

She needed to run. Now.

Thanks for the details. I have a few more questions:
- How big can they get? I was thinking of making a Wild that feeds on fear or anger, and it would be reasonable to assume these emotions are abundant in such a setting, which means they are quite well-fed.
- Is there a set distance between Wild and bound human (kinda like how the Wi-Fi signals weaken and stop working after a certain point)? If this happens, what are the effects (ex: human's Wild-given powers stop working, Wild gets hungrier, etc.)
- Regarding the powers, does it have to be consensual for it to work, or can a Wild give and take away the powers freely? And when bound to one, does it mean it cannot choose another?
- Can a Wild give powers to only one human?
- Can a Wild feed on more than one human's emotions? I feel like the answer here is yes... though I asked just to be sure.
- If Wilds feed on emotions, do they have their own? If so, can they feed on each other?
- How are Wilds born/created? (Or is this a plot point you will reveal later in the story?)
- If the Wilds were brought into this world via accident, what is keeping them from staying in their world / going back through the tear?

For sure!
1. Most Wilds are human size or the size of a one-story building, maybe a little bigger.

2. I'd say 100 feet is about the distance they ought to stay within before Wilds and their human begin to feel a tugging on their hearts that gets more and more painful the further away they are.

3. It doesn't have to be consensual, a lot of Wilds simply start haunting humans and the humans have no say in the matter. A wild can be bound to only one other human, and once they are bound, they cannot without their powers. Everything is linked, the powers, how they are telepathically connected, everything. A binding can be undone, but it takes a lot of time, effort, and can sometimes be painful.

4. Wilds are split into positive emotion feeders and negative emotion feeders. They typically satiate themselves on one or the other.

5. This will be revealed later in the story. All Wilds know how they were drained from their home in the Perishing Event, where a tear threw them into our world.

6. When they came through the tear into our world, the 'amniotic fluid', what we call the Abyss Energy drained from their world and interspersed into ours, causing all the plants to decay and dust to wreak havoc. Without this 'fluid', their world is like a popped water balloon, and is uninhabitable. Our world is habitable because the fluid still lives in the air, albeit at a much less dense rate.

Does that answer your questions alright?
@SporkoBug I love your characters! They're both good to go!
Thanks!

Masquerading as a doctor seemed like something she would be enjoy and be good at (I figure she rather deep understanding of the anatomy of humans and others given her supernatural talents).

And practicing medicine means easy access to bad times and people suffering to feed from...but also to help/push.

I love it. I can't wait to see her in action when we start the IC.

Admittedly I lied to you Etsy, I'm working on the character sheets now and have almost finished them both xD

Oh well that's wonderful news! I look forward to seeing it!
@Abstract Proxy It looks great so far! I like how enigmatic she is and her desire to push others towards suffering. Definitely fits the description of a Wild doctor. I look forward to seeing it done, so far so good!
Huh. Did nobody make a Ravenfell post yet?

We currently have Kronos and Eirwen making their appearances at Ravenfell. :)
I'm open to the idea. If a player Wild wants to bind up, shoot me a message and we can coordinate.

It wouldn't even have to be a previous binding, could be something brand new from the characters running into each other.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Perfect. :)

Partially because I can't think of a more fun power right now, I'm going to stick with a shape changing Wild.

Sounds great, can't wait to see the CS!
@Herald Your CS looks great. I was thinking they'd be a great candidate for some Wild interaction, given their suffering. Feel free to pop them in the CS tab when you have a moment.

Do we need to fill out the NPC and Character Relationship sheets too?

Nope, only if you have an NPC idea. Character relationships are voluntary if you want to give more information on how your character feels about everyone else. They're useful as a reference later in the game.

@Lexisheeps I'll write up some religion concepts and let you know! I like your ideas!

[WAVES VIOLENTLY] HI ETSY.
Lexi told me about this.
I love the idea of this but but but, Are we allowed to possibly play something in The Wilds? But like, possibly captured by any of the corps (Probably Umbra Corps by the sounds of things) as like a 'forced' contact?

Heya! You can absolutely play a Wild. They could absolutely be captured by Umbra Corp and forced to do a Possesive Subjugation on one of their soldiers. I line your idea, you should definitely go for it.

What sort of bodies / physical forms do the Wilds have?
And what's the mechanic of Wilds PCs granting other non-Wilds PCs the abilities?

Hello! That is entirely up to the player. Wilds are known to have physical forms or ghost-like forms. However, all forms have a physical heart present.

The Wild becomes bound to the human. If they are spectral they will live inside the human. If they are corporeal they will live around the human. They will have a mental tether that binds their souls, allowing them to communicate telepathically. The Wild will feast on the humans emotions, either positive or negative, depending on the type of Wild. And the human will in turn gain powers. These powers can be enhanced if enough suffering happens.

We actually have a perfect candidate. @Herald, if you're interested in getting an abyssal connection, this might be a way to make it happen.
Lexi, what did we say about antagonizing the innocent? xD

Take your time, Days!
I already have two loose character concepts! So many things to write, but not enough time in a day! Dx

First character concept is a former Ghost faction member turned Lawless. But, do Lawless folk have to pick sides? I'm thinking my guy found religion, or at least some form of moral code.

Second character concept is a chaotic neutral wild. Being nice or nasty completely depends on the current situation. Probably targeting anybody that attacks and helps those who deserve it.

That's the thing with Lawless, they wander like the Wild West. You can be a 'bounty hunter' with a code, or a 'red neck hooligan' ready to rob a bank. I can draft some religion for you of you'd like, moral code is alright too. Quite the contrast. A moral Lawless...

Second concept is great too. It's up to you which one you want to go with!
