"A million times I have done this charade. The moment people figure it out, I get the boot." she thought.
"But don't you want to see the fear in their eyes when they see who you really are...? Don't you want dominion of this place, just like how you were unchallenged in Vaal Kastrix?" said the Voice.
Ciara scoffed, immediately thinking of Gulliver and Valen. "I'd love to wipe the smirk off their faces."
"It starts by building a rumor. A rumor of power. This could be the place to start."
She took a deep breath, narrowing her eyes resolutely at the Undermage. "Head Advisor, with all due respect, you have no right to ask me about my intentions. If you want answers..."
She stood from her seat, rising to her full height.
Her breath caught when she felt the cold metal of a pistol against her temple.
"Put the heart down, and back the hell up if you want your friend to live," the guard said to Ellie in a rumbling baritone, digging the gun into Dream's head.
Dream squinted at Ellie, vision blurred as she tried to breathe. The heart, glinting in Ellie's hands.
The doctor, his face turning white every time she asked what would happen if they failed. Above all else, he said, they had to keep the heart safe. They had to, even if it meant...
She snarled, her boot stamping down on the guard's foot, a burst of light bruising the bone. He yelped, losing his grip. That's all she needed, and she tore away. But in her haste, she saw his free arm reaching for her, and she slipped on panicked feet as he pushed her off the railing.
She held back a scream, staring straight down into the boiling pit below. The guard wrapped a tight hand around her ankle, and Ellie could see Dream's other foot flailing; she restrained herself poorly from kicking the guard, desperately hoping she wouldn't die.
As her captor supported himself against the railing, his pistol pointed at Ellie.
Deep, golden orbs stared back at her from within the cave.
God, she couldn't breathe.
He was monstrous. The ground trembled under her feet as his rippling, massive body exited the cave. Thunderous footsteps left cracks in the dirt, his breath sent waves of heat creeping over her skin. The transformation was slow, but it looked like something from a nightmare with the way his long teeth were bared.
A great and terrible roar sounded from his gaping maw.
1. Yes. 2. I imagine that the skin keeps the heat inside, but when he's wounded, the parts around the wounds get pretty hot. 3. Noted, will edit!
Great! Feel free to add them to the CS tab. :)
The original image I used for her is gone, but I suppose it's not the end of the world since some time has passed right?
A
mid 20s (she's not sure) | Human | Female | Umbra Corp, Test Subject | 5’4 | 130 lbs
Abyssal Connection: Forced Subjugation
#1 Hemorrhage
She can cause a person's nose or ears to bleed, causing discomfort and mild disorientation. This ability has a short range and requires a direct line of sight.
#2 Blood Sense
She can sense nearby living creatures' location and general health status by "feeling" their blood flow. This ability has a limited range and does not provide specific details about the creatures.
(Locked) #3 Blood Puppetry
She can control the movements of a target by manipulating their blood flow. This ability requires intense concentration and has a limited duration. It also causes significant strain on her, leading to fatigue and potential nosebleeds.
Goal: A’s primary goal is to regain control over her life and protect her fellow test subjects. She is determined to uncover the truth behind their imprisonment and experimentation, and to seek justice for the wrongs done to them. Ultimately, she aims to dismantle the organization that has manipulated and violated them, ensuring that no one else suffers the same fate.
Additionally, A is driven by a personal quest to recover her lost memories. She hopes that by piecing together her past, she can understand the full extent of her abilities and the reasons behind her selection as a test subject. This journey of self-discovery is crucial for her to find closure and reclaim her identity.
Personality: A is resilient and resourceful, with an unyielding determination to overcome any obstacle. Despite the trauma and suffering she has endured, she remains fiercely protective of her friends and allies. Her past experiences have made her wary and distrustful of authority figures, but they have also instilled in her a deep sense of empathy for those who are oppressed or mistreated.
A is driven by a strong moral compass and a desire for justice, often putting herself at risk to help others. She struggles with the temptation to give in to the darkness within her, but her resolve to fight for a better future keeps her grounded. Her cautious and strategic nature often puts her at odds with those who prefer more direct or ruthless methods, but she remains steadfast in her beliefs.
A’s quest to recover her lost memories adds a layer of vulnerability to her otherwise strong exterior. She is haunted by the fragments of her past, which fuel her determination to uncover the truth and reclaim her identity. This journey of self-discovery is crucial for her to find closure and to understand the full extent of her abilities.
History: A woke with others who were the same as her, fellow test subjects. During her time at the facility with them, she recovered a few of her memories. She remembered being mercilessly bullied as a child, with tormentors often resorting to physical violence. One harrowing memory involved being shoved into a wall, resulting in a severe nosebleed and a broken nose. Another memory was of a car accident as a teenager, causing the death of her best friend. She vividly remembered the blood pooling on the asphalt and the feeling of helplessness as she watched her friend succumb to their injuries.
Left with more questions than answers, A now travels with the remaining members of this group to the city of Ehlm in an attempt to kill the Wild King.
Inventory: Umbra Corp Skin Suit: A sleek, dark suit designed for agility and protection.
Hematic Rebreather Mask: A specialized piece of equipment designed to enhance A’s blood-bending abilities while providing essential respiratory support.
Utility Belt: Equipped with various tools, including a small knife, lockpicks, and a compact flashlight.
Medical Kit: Contains first aid supplies, including bandages, antiseptic wipes, and a few vials of blood coagulant for emergency use.
Ration Bars and Water Bottles: Essential for sustenance during long missions.
Communication Device: A compact, encrypted radio for secure communication with her team.

Phantom Menace ⫻ Alizée can achieve perfect stillness, and without feet to touch the ground, can follow any target completely silently. Zero-Gravity Maneuverability ⫻ Alizée can use her ability to float to pass over obstacles that would hinder anyone else, such as the ability to cross over water. Void Speaker ⫻ Alizée knows how to speak the old tongue of the Void.
Appearance ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ”Haven’t I always been like this?”
She's tall at 77 inches, just a little over 6 feet. She's usually a little taller than that due to her preference to hover a few inches off the ground. Her build is thin, without a lot of the appearance of muscle.
Her body itself is an interesting spectacle. The ivory skin is marred in two places: Both of her hands, mainly the fingers. They are elongated, grotesque, boney and gray, like they are under some type of sickness. Alizée doesn't know why they're like that. Besides that, her appearance of skin could be considered unblemished and quite normal. White hair flows down in loose curls down to her thighs, often seen slightly floating around her.
Her face, which is actually a dark, faceless void, is covered by a broken metal skull mask with red eyes. Matching the battered look of the iron mask, she wears double sets of iron cuffs and chains on her wrists and ankles. The chains aren't linked to each other, they simply float around Alizée.
She appears to wear a white silk dress shirt and a white, flowing skirt.
Psychology ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ”I swear these chains have a mind of their own."
MAIN GOAL ⫻ Alizée has three main goals: 1) Find Vul. She doesn't remember much, but she does remember getting separated. She remembers desperation, a burning need to reunite.
2) Vengeance. Anyone who harmed her and Void must be destroyed. She remembers leather, and the roar of motorbikes.
3) Gates of Paradise. She's seen them with her own eyes, and knows it's where she wants to be. But she is not strong enough to open the gates. She needs energy for that. And she knows where to get it.
PHILOSOPHY ⫻ You are bound by what you love. The chains on Alizée are a manifestation of her love for Vul. And through her bindment is her liberation, as her chains are the main source of her power. Alizée's heart, if apparitions had a heart, is open to love and friendship, but they must cross through a yawning expanse of distrust to get there. If Alizée finds another thing she loves or befriends, she will add another chain to her ensemble.
SECRETS ⫻ Is it fair to be bound? Where is Alizée's freedom? Is she a glorified slave, bound by love and friendship? Alizée has a doubt she repressed in the value of being bound. This secret, if pressed, can cause Alizée to doubt so much she loses her chains, and a large part of her power.
SEXUALITY ⫻ N/A
FEARS ⫻ Being eaten or destroyed by Voidlings larger or more powerful than she. She fears anything happening to her bindments, her connections, such as Vul.
REPUTATION IN OLD COVEN ⫻ N/A
ROLE IN THE BATTLE AGAINST THE STYGIAN SNAKE ⫻ N/A
FLAWS ⫻ She is typically blindly loyal to whatever she is bound to, unlikely to critically think when it comes to making a decision about them.
Backstory ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ”I was alone… When normally I’m not, I think."
A ring of a gunshot.
Then, darkness.
It took a long time to discern darkness from herself, but eventually, Alizée woke in Void, with only burning feelings, a few flashes of images, and scrapes of information, like names.
At first, her chains were heavy, and she couldn't move. But as she learned the chains weren't actually physical, but instead a representation of something inside her, they slowly got lighter and lighter, until eventually they floated weightlessly around her.
She only remembered a few things, as she wandered the shallows of the Void. Her name. A name of someone special - Vul. The red eyes of her mask would shine every time she thought of Vul, the scrapes that she remembered.
She remembered that she died, whatever she was before, trying to protect this Vul character. She remembered the sound of steel, a thunderclap in her ear. The tinkle of a casing falling to the ground. The smell of leather. The roar of metal machines - she knew the word, ‘motorcycles.’ She didn't know exactly who or what they were, but they were at fault, and she kept her eyes vigilant in the Void.
She remembered there were Gates, and it took a little time to figure out how to get there. But eventually, she was able to form a pathway through a circle of her chains, and saw the pantheons-wide Gates of Paradise.
They didn’t open to her, despite her yearning to enter.
Thus began her descent into the depths of the Void, picking off denizens that she could handle. She continued on like this, slowly drawing in strength and power, getting used to her skills.
It's unsure how long this went on, but there was one fateful moment in the Void where she felt a tug on her chains, in her heart.
This was the same time Vul (the Void Heart) was sealed at the Temple. Alizée felt this sudden spike in energy, before it disappeared almost entirely.
She knew that energy. And, moving her chains together to create another portal, she entered the Shimmer to seek out the whispering threads of Vul’s energy.
Abstraction ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ”Just let go, your life will be so much easier once you’re a ghost.”
TYPE ⫻ Apparition
ABSTRACTION ⫻ Dark Binding: Chains that bind, expend, or facilitate.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Alizée's abstraction can be broken down into several facets:
The Chains Chain Binding Chain Exchange: Ki Blasts Chain Pathway Chain Connection Chain Seeker Chain Doubt
Chain Binding
These chains float in nature, and are connected telepathically to Alizée's ‘mind’, though one could say these are simply a type of extension for Alizée.
When these chains, with a thought, bind around someone or something, their physical essence is slowly absorbed. As it is absorbed, the body or thing that is bound begins to slowly fade into a spectral form. This spectral form is like the equivalent of a ghost, unable to be seen by those who aren't magically adept. It can't interact with the physical world of wherever its from, be it the Shimmer of the Void. It's also very weak. There are ways to reverse this spectral form if a healer knows how to do it.
These chains appear to be physical iron, and do not affect Alizée if they are burned or shattered.
Chain Exchange: Ki Blasts
Alizée is able to sacrifice links in her chain. This sacrifice causes the link to convert into energy, which is then redirected out through her mind to an exchange site she can see. Once chosen, the link disappears and ki blast explodes at the designated site. The blast is so strong that it has the ability to blast away concrete and earth. However, it will never kill someone caught in the blast - it will only impact them and send them flying, with or without broken bones, depending on the situation.
If she runs out of links, she can no longer bind or perform exchanges. Instead, she has to go to the source of connection with her links, and build them up over time. Forming genuine connections takes time, so she could be unable to fight for hours or days.
Chain Pathway
By forming her chains into a circle, a portal opens up within that can take Alizée anywhere she wants to go across dimensions. She mainly uses this to go between the Void, the Gates of Paradise, and the Shimmer.
Chain Connection
When Alizée has a special bond with someone, a cuff with a chain appears on her arms or legs. There's a few things that need to happen before a chain connection can be made. First, the connection must be a long one. Alizée must have frequented the person or apparition many times. Secondly, Alizée must be a part of the person's secret world. People have three worlds: exterior, what everyone sees; interior, what close friends and family see; and secret, where only a select few ever get to see. A good way to get into the secret world is by having the person or Apparition share a secret. Thirdly, Alizée must trust them explicitly.
This new cuff and chain, when formed, give strength to Alizée's person all over. She's faster, can bind and absorb energy faster, and can create stronger blasts. She also has more links with which she can create ki Blasts from.
Chain Seeker
Through Alizée’s chains, she can sense the approximate location of the one she's connected to through the chains. For example, in the case of Vul, she only realized she could sense him when he experienced a dire situation, and was sealed. When sealed, her ability to detect is much lower.
If a connection is in a dire situation, she will notice her chains and her heart tug painfully.
Chain Doubt
As stated in the Secrets section, Alizée's chains need faith and subjugation to work. She has to allow herself to be bound. If she decides that she has had enough of being bound, and wants to be free, the chains will start to disappear, as well as her power.
The Body Cursed Hands
Cursed Hands
Perhaps from a previous life, Alizée's hands became cursed. This is more of a visual cursing, without much effect except being immune to mental and essence control.
LIMITS ⫻
Chain Binding - Alizée can never kill someone outright by robbing them of their energy and essence, only turn them into a specter that needs powerful healing to reverse. Chain Exchange: Ki Blasts - If someone is in the center of a ki blast, it will never kill them. At max, it may break bones or fling them far.
WEAKNESSES ⫻ Alizée’s chains are susceptible to magical disruption. Magical attacks can temporarily break her chains, rendering her unable to use her abilities until she can re-establish the links. If Alizée is physically restrained or immobilized, she cannot mentally control the chains effectively. This means binding or trapping her in a way that restricts her movement can neutralize her Abstraction. Using her Abstraction extensively drains Alizée’s magic and stamina. Prolonged Chain Binding or repeated Ki Blasts can leave her exhausted, weakening her overall magic, including her Emotional-Field. Suppose an opponent manages to break a chain while it is binding them. In that case, the backlash can cause a psychic shock to Alizée, disorienting her and causing excruciating pain for a short period.
Her Chain Connection relies on strong emotional bonds. If these bonds are severed or if the person betrays her, the chain not only disappears but also causes emotional and mental turmoil for Alizée, weakening her overall. In certain environments, such as places with extreme elemental conditions like high heat or corrosive atmospheres, her chains can decay rapidly, losing their effectiveness and becoming easier to break. Strong emotional or mental interference, such as illusions or psychic attacks, can disrupt her connection with her chains, making it difficult for her to control them.
Other ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ”I don't have a lot of memories. I’m fine with that."
It's important to clarify that Alizée being bound to something or someone is different to being adjoined. She can be bound with her chains to multiple things. The chains act as a representative of a psychic connection of trust, love, loyalty and friendship. She currently has eight chains all representing her connection to Vul. Vul would be unaffected by this representation, as it's only a manifestation on her side. Even if Vul didn't love her or want to be her friend, he can't change the chains. Only Alizée can do that.
”... You know, this really raises the question of what else you got on that phone of yours."
“Nothing that you need to worry about.” Luna said stiffly behind a mouthful of alcohol.
Things were starting to ease out after Layla was escorted from the room, poor girl, especially after Britney called for a timeout. Until a strange occurrence happened.
Glimmers of light began to appear in a slow coalescing circle in front of Jack. They grew in brightness, until chains rimmed the effervescent glow. Quickening their pace. A high-pitched ring like a bell peeling, cutting through the conversation.
Until, within the cloudy depths, a gnarled hand reached out and grabbed Jack by the collar. The rest of the form came forward, revealing a tall, thin girl floating in the air. White hair flowed down to her knees, cold hatred in the red eyes of her skull mask.
As the portal faded away, the chains on her wrists and ankles writhed, almost examining the group surrounding them.
The girl stared hard at Jack, her grip tightening on his collar. Her voice was like distorted metal. “You reek of Void. He's all over you.”
Her hot eyes played over the crowd, pointing out Stormy, Auri, and Britney. “His scent is on you too.”
Her cold anger flexed, and the chains began snaking their way around the ankles of Jack, Stormy, Britney, and Auri. They were attempting to constrict and tighten around her suspects, where she would then squeeze them for answers.
Her attention returned to Jack. “Tell me what you did. What happened to Vul? Where. Is. The Void Heart?”
Luna's eyes widened upon seeing this, drawing a sword of light in her hands as she posed defensively behind the bar.
“Who the hell are you?” She demanded.
The girl in the mask didn't bother looking at Luna, not taking her eyes off Jack for a second as she held his collar.
She merely uttered a few words, in that distorted voice of hers.

Abyssal Connection: None
Draconic Vitality
With concentration, Mercy's hide becomes nigh impenetrable, save for close blasts from high-powered weapons, due to a unique molecular structure that can be rearranged at will. However, the density of this hide as well as the heft of his size also means that Mercy moves at a limited speed during this state. Outside of it, the hardness can compare to thick animal hide, and he can move at an agile speed, akin to a gigantic bear. Also, given his size, stealth is often not an option.
Infernal Blood
Mercy's blood runs at a high temperature, akin to molten lava. Where it falls, it can start fires, and when splattered, it can cause burn damage. Of course, it would be unwise to use this as a main tactic, as Mercy can still bleed out. This is mostly a defensive feature.
(Locked) The Void Stares Back
Can regurgitate all the despair, anger and fear he has consumed to freeze all human targets within a certain area and cause them to lose most mental faculties, shutting them down and disabling rational action. This is a limited ability, as it means Mercy loses the emotions he has fed on and is weakened for quite some time.
Goal: To destroy Umbra Corp and help the Wild King gain more territory. Understand the humans and their unending strife.
Personality: Mercy only wants to feed. More grounds means more to feed upon. There is little else that he is bothered with. He takes some interest in how humans fight amongst themselves, as well as with his own kind, but those that catch his interest are often only rewarded by a gruesome end, rent by his claws and crushed in his massive jaws. He feeds on both the negative emotions and the bodies of humans.
History: Mercy has no memories of others like himself, though he was not always as large as he is now. He grew large in the City of Ehlm, for those that dared to enter and pick its fruits were almost always full of fear. One day, he eventually grew big enough to try killing one, and though he nearly died on account of the strange, ingenious weapons they had, he won and he devoured the human. It was a taste he would never forget, and from then on, he became one of the more aggressive Wilds, feeding on all that he could.
It was odd, how many of them seemed to ask for mercy, before death, and before long, he decided that it was equivalent to what the humans called names.
There is a spark of curiosity growing within the great beast, however, about his prey. But it is one that he is reluctant to entertain. After all, playing with one's food is a waste of time.

Looks great! There's only two things I want to clarify. His hide, I imagine it would be immune to regular bullets, but not to Abyssal Energy bullets?
How is his skin temperature?
Also, the abyssal connection would read 'Natural Subjugation' instead of 'None'.
