When you have to disable a new 'advanced' search to get proper search results and learn that 'advanced' means 'AI'. Let's rename it artificial superficiality, short 'AS'. Not to be confused with...

I'm slightly proud of myself having overcome my hate for indoor spiders a bit over the years. In my youth I often eliminated them, now I carry them outside in a jar. Spiders here are harmless though.

Believe me, if they could, the entirity of Southern Germany would send you all the rain they had over the last couple of days. I'm just not sure you'd actually want the widespread destruction.

Finally managed to catch the mouse. Our cat must consider me the most incompetent person of all times given how she watched instead of helping. She dragged the problem in though!

Bio

Welcome to my profile page!

Who the hell is this person behind those many miles of fiber optics and copper cable ?

  • I'm a 34 year old guy.
  • ... who's working as a software developer
  • ... and enjoys roleplaying as a casual hobby to distract himself from ongoing stress

And into which hell will I descend with you participating in one of my roleplays?

  • I'm a fantasy addict: medieval high and low!
  • I'd consider myself to be a low casual roleplayer, 3 paragraphs per post on average.
  • My schedule varies. It might happen that I won't be able to post at all for a week, but then again it might happen that I'll reach a sweet spot inside which I can go on a posting rampage. I'd say one can expect 1-2 posts a week from me, depending on the lengths involved.
  • English is not my native language, but so far I've not encountered anyone who had had trouble with me over that :)

Want to RP with me ? Shoot me a PM, but don't shoot me!

Thanks for visiting!

Madawc put on his new, heavy armor before following the king. Not doing so beforehand would be pretty pointless since he intended to actually use that new equipment. The stables were very large - not really a big surprise. The question was if the king would have a suitable mount. Madawc placed himself on the first one they encountered, not caring much about anything. The result was pretty much the same as with his old one.
It appeared that noone had taken his chuckling amiss, so there was no reason for the Skayleigh not to be relaxed. With curiosity dripping from his face, the giant watched the scenery unfolding in the distance. Immediate conclusions ? Probably don't stay here too long or more and more people will try and join the group. Would Vanya even approve of this ? After all, while every new member in theory should make them stronger, in practice there could evolve so much disharmony out of it that the opposite could become true. On the other hand: No plaintiff, no judge. Unless the queen was able to teleport noises secretly from here into her throne room she'd probably never learn what happened here.

What An-Hasst started to wonder about however was if this decision would be a democratic one or not. He decided to turn around and step towards the gathering - even if it meant having to dig his feet into the swamp.

There once was a Skayleigh,
his name was An-Hasst.
He approached the lunatic
completely aghast.

Why was he singing
without any reason ?
Fill our ears with ringing
and then commit treason ?

It's a crude theory,
speculative havoc.
Probs he brings glory,
it'd be An-Hasst's shock!

Maybe you could help him,
tell him what's up.
But I have the feeling
he wants to say: Shut up!

While severely bending pronounciation to make his improvised rhyme not fall completely apart, the huge Skayleigh had wandered around Ursaren. Now he squatted in front of the sitting man. "Please, forgive me my natural impatience. I'm just overwhelmed by your behaviour at the moment. First asking about werewolves, then... this. Why ?"

Assuming this is still open, I'd love to throw my hat into the mix. :)

As far as I know, it is.

Name: Hatuum
Titles: Officially none. Inofficially however he has earned himself the nickname of 'The Phantom'
Race: Human
Age: 35
Physical Appearance: One can easily see that he's unusually pale for a human being and his eyes look somewhat strange. Yet there are no fangs and no fur is sprouting during a full moon. What appears to be quite altered or randomly mutated in his bloodline however are the portions of the genome controlling growth: At more than eight feet while still maintaining a very well visible heap of muscular bulk, he's rather unmistakable.
The clothing/armor shown in the picture should not be taken as a precise reference to how he dresses. Given his job, Hatuum can appear in many different things. Usually it's the one that fits the situation he wants to confront himself with best.

Biography: Hatuum's short history can be tracked back to a small region in the Alps, roughly at the point where the provinces of Westmark, Tyrstria and Veiern meet each other. It has not yet been possible to pinpoint his true origin, but this is the area where the first sighting of him has been confirmed. Given the medieval stage of development, not everybody carries around a passport and a bunch of legal documents which are forgery-proof - and he has proven to be quite elusive and able to go around guard posts.

This is no accident. His profession is not exactly what an 'ordinary' man would do: Hatuum's an assassin. While he behaves like a submarine for most of time, there are secret ways to make him surface. Ways spread only by rumor and reserved for the rich and powerful. He's far beyond working for everyone. It makes it even harder to acquire his helping hand. He knows that the count, duchess or other person of noble rank calling for him today could very well be the one whose court he has spread terror in sometime before. Who knows on which list of suspects someone has put him on ?

It is also the reason why his region of interest spreads across the entirity of Nocturne. The less frequent one returns to the same region, the better. Basically he's always on the search for the most promising contract. Hatuum's time on earth is comparatively limited - he has the intention to make as much glory out of it as possible. He doesn't control any kind of army, but on the smaller scale of a locked room he can be considered a one man variant of it.
Stones were the most obvious option. In fact, right from where Baxxink was standing up to several miles away, the object was nothing but ubiquitous. The road leading to the tavern was reinforced with gravel pressed into the softer ground by years of people stepping and vehicles driving on it. The problem was that these were small stones. Very comfortable to grab for a small goblin's hand, but also not very powerful and even less protective. Turtles ? Well... the comedy option was nowhere to be seen. A branch however was available - broken off from the piss tree which could be seen from where Baxxink was. The plant was dying slowly, its life being pissed off by so much piss. But maybe the goblin would remember about a more clever option ? Glass could be selectively weakened by deeply scratching it. This was a job even a bit of the small road pebble would be sufficient for. Maybe a part of the glass could be removed with less brutality (and thereby noise) required than with the brute force method.

Speaking of brute force - Vekyzz was busy remembering what he was damn good at. The musician was slammed back onto the ground harder than gravity alone would have done it. The demon's eyes seemed to burn - and so did the wound the impact had left on his back in the metaphorical sense. It was littered with splinters and would require a bit of attention if one didn't want to risk it becoming even uglier. Right now this wasn't the time for such things however. The demon turned around completely infuriated, the door he had seen the bright blue thing going through fixed in the middle of his view.

@Halvtand
With great anger, Vekyzz slammed a table which happened to block his straightforward way out of the same. He kicked the door open and once again, fast progress was hindered by him not fitting through it. Once he was outside, he yelled: "Which bastard did this ? Come here at once!" Yet apparently he wasn't expecting the coward to show up. Vekyzz stepped further away from the door towards the area where the coaches and horses were waiting. It was there that he expected the person in question to seek refuge because of the many obstacles and possibilities to make a quick escape. Unintentionally his path lead him almost directly towards Baxxink, but the rageful creature didn't have the goblin on its list of suspects. Vekyzz had already decided to leave and therefore he was heading for a saddled horse near the coach. The demon didn't care about its owner - he just wanted to get away from here.
@Verse Zero

Started work on a CS.
@Verse ZeroI'm not sure because I'm neither an expert about trading noble metals nor about medieval currencies, but from the strict mathematical point of view I'd guess that it should be 100 copper pennies for a half moon instead of 100 copper for a moon. Otherwise one could still trade 200 pennies for two moons for a sun and trade that back to 400 pennies.
Copper Penny: 100 pennies make a Moon and 400 makes a Sun.

Got some idea for a human character in mind :)
@Verse Zero I'd be perfectly okay with an OOC now.
Btw. it appears that the half moon currency requires some rescaling, too. If five go for a moon and and four moons go for a sun, it should be twenty half moons per sun, not ten. (damn this infinite loop of richness is much more powerful: per iteration it yields a factor of 2 and not only 1.333... like with the copper!)
@Verse Zero Schwäbisch Gmünd
I'm interested as well.

However I've two questions.
First I'm either thinking way too conservatively or the currency system confuses me. You can trade 300 copper for a sun or 100 copper for a moon. However you can only trade four moons for a sun. So one could - given that one finds someone who's willing to cooperate - trade 300 copper for a sun, then, probably somewhere else, trade back the sun for four moons and subsequently trade these four moons for 400 copper ? This is an infinite loop that will make you infinitely rich as long as you don't run out of people willing to trade with you. Is this possibility intended ?

Second question is about what races (or probably better mutation lines) our characters can originate from ? All vampires or ordinary humans ?

edit: Looked at your profile and noticed that our birthplaces are less than 100 kilometers apart ^^
