"Betterr… Much better." Umber's dark malevolent voice could be heard within the plaza, despite not being seen by any who heard. The area seemed to become darker as if the sun was being blocked by overhead clouds, yet this was not the case. The plaza itself darkened, but everything beyond the location faded into darkness. The plaza became a drifting island in a sea of black unknown. From the south side of the plaza, the large figure that was Umber emerged from the darkness, levitating just above the ground. One of his hands reached out and tapped Artemis's cage. It seemed like a light casual touch, but the cage rattled as if he had given it a shove.

"Much better than the village. Then again, suffering is… suffering. I just savor it much more than most… Like what you've done with this one." Umber's eyes seemed to widen as he felt the emotions pour out of her. Her… Umber recognized Artemis from Aklenroth's throne room. She was by Darius at the time. "Wait… Helio she is… oh this is relishing…" Umber snickered as he turned back to Helio. "More fear Helio… You need more fear! Of those around you… I taste hate… nostalgia… hope… Fear will fix those. I can show you, child."

Grit teeth, rage, fury, tempered steel, piercing glares, poisoned tips, shallow breaths, tight grips…

But the intimidating thing was then silence. Like the calm before a storm. A storm strong pull bodies from their half-destroyed home. Drowning even the most competent of swimmers, while flying debris makes precious lives appear worthless. The lead Bloodfang orc's hands were now resting behind his head confidently, a grin on his face as he waited for the silence to end.

"What?!" Skar was furious. To be surrounded so easily.

"What?!" He mocked her before laughing. "Apologies… We find your type… hmm what's the right word? Amusing! Yes! Very amusing! BUT USEFUL! Very useful." The orc briefly turned to the south, the direction of the desert before looking back to Skar. "Name's Hachtaka, but just call me Hatchet. Now, I am a… hmm what's the right… Representative! Yes! Representative of the Bloodfang Clan! Here to make a deal with… uh whaddaya call this you got here?"

"Warpact! Ugh! Talk too much Hatchet! Sound like fairy! Hurry up with deal or Skar will kill you! And even if Skar die here… Skar will kill you." She promised him, but he wasn't stupid enough to start a skirmish here. He had his orders to intercept this group, investigate it, and see if they could be of use. They had been tracking Skar and her horde for days and were sure now that the group aimed to head to the home of the Diamond Heart Clan. But for what purpose? Orcs only lived to raid and conquer and her group was equipped for a battle.

"I'll make it quick then, Warpact! I figured a lass like ya'self would want me to take my time… Bloodfang wants Diamond Heart gone! We aid Warpact. Warpact takes over the south and forms a brand-spankin' new clan! THEN Bloodfang will call Waagh!" He smiled, and Skar actually grinned before chuckling.

"Stupid Hatchet. Unbroken won't bend to Bloodfang calling waagh! Not even Diamond Heart bend to Bloodfang and Diamond Heart dumbest clan! You are a shit rep...reper… Dealer. Shitty deal man!" A few in Skar's horde built up the confidence to cackle with Skar's humored tone.

"RIGHT! Unbroken won't bend… We will break them! Bloodfang with Warpact will break the Unbroken! Smash-Stone will follow with no fight. Those orc are just big green bug-wings without the damned bug wings! We call Waagh with our two clans we will win, Skar! A rebellion is comin' which is a perfect time for a waagh." Skar's smile faded as Hatchet's words made sense to her. Divide and conquer was easy enough for her to understand.

"Dark Lord will be busy... Unbroken with less support… Tell Skar more. Of plan and of ball. Hatchet not bad deal man after all. Decent deal man."

"The best!"

"Darius is best deal man!" She snapped

"Who?"

Nur and Darius

Time: Afternoon
Location: South beach, River Port
Interactions: Darius @FunnyGuy and Nur @Dreamingflowers
Ambiance: Crashing waves

Nur had performed her damsel in distress routine fairly well aaaaaaand Darius fell right into her ruse. He scowled toward the dark elven guards as Nur got herself up to leave and then got up off the sand to follow her.

"Hey! I just can't let you on your way after what I did. How about we get a bite to eat. I'll pay. I insist." Darius' eyes shift to where the guards stood in the distance before returning to her seriously.

The succubus smirked to herself.
This was never getting old, and she didn’t even have to use her power. Dinner always tasted better when it was paid for by someone else.

“That would be perfect.” She walked back to where the guards were standing, retrieving her sandals. Nur pretended they weren’t there at all. It was easy as they barely moved or spoke. She sat down on a stone ledge, lifting her feet to fasten the straps of her shoes.

All the while, Darius had moved to retrieve his jacket from the sands of the beach. He was sure he would be limited on where they could go if he was not dressed appropriately. He whipped his jacket in the breeze a few times to get most of the sand off before placing it on and walking over to Nur.

“Where do you want to go?” Nur asked, hoping there would be at least one restaurant in River Port that served something other than fish. She could really go for a plate of lucky dips with forest strawberries. Unfortunately, with this being a port town, the first recommendation was always….

"You like seafood?" He asked innocently.

Nur’s face contorted in disgust, her upper lip pulled up and her eyes narrowed slightly.. Anything with scales just made her skin crawl. Most things related to the sea were still foreign to her. This visit to River Port was only the fourth time she’d actually seen and heard the ocean. It was clearly not her food of choice, without her actually having answered. Darius failed to hold back a smile as he found her "answer" quite humorous.

"Well ummm…" He looked to the guards as he placed his hand to his chin as he feigned some very deep thinking. "Ooh! I know just the place!" He held out his hand for her to take. "I hear it's the best place in town. It's called Lost… in the Sauce." Darius said almost dramatically.

“That sounds like a terrible place to eat” Nur said, smiling and shaking her head. She walked up to his side but didn’t take his hand. Instead, she snaked her arm around his, tugging him along with her. Darius had raised his eyebrows at the motion, who would he be to complain about a beautiful woman being on his arm? They started at a leisure pace back towards the town.

"Just wait till we get there. Trust me, it's gonna be good… Oh wait, I never caught your name!" The fact hadn't even crossed his mind.

What a fool.

The further from town Darius ran, the more he tried to do with his magic. He assumed there was no one to see him take inhumanly far forward leaps. It gave him something excitedly new to practice, which kept his mind off of being at the port where the rebellion was meant to be staged. When he had run far enough away from where he started, he turned around. The humidity was slightly higher than other locations he had visited in Avalia, which caused small beads of sweat to form across his body. Initially, it went unnoticed. Darius was no stranger to sweat, but after several strides, a light bulb seemed to go off in his head.

"Heh… Water." Darius focused on the movement in his arms and legs as he ran back. This time even faster than before as he pushed and pulled the moisture with each stride. 1. 2. 1. 2. 1. 2. 1. 2. 1. 2….. Like a metronome, he created a rhythm to help him maintain control. He was so focused on counting, when he saw the parasol flying his way… he crashed straight through it and tumbled over into the sand. "Oof!"

Darius rolled over onto his back with a bent crumpled up parasol tangled on his right leg while also lightly covered in moist sand. He looked up at the noon sun with squinted eyes before sitting up to see the destroyed parasol. How lucky am I to trip over the one flying umbrella on an empty beach!? Then he saw the woman walking across the beach, seemingly the owner of said umbrella. His eyes opened slightly wider than usual while his mouth remained slightly agape as he took her figure in.

Apparently, very.

He was too awestruck to acknowledge Malgormuun. A soft breeze attempted to blow sand into his eyes which caused him to wince but also regain himself.

"Hey I'm really sorry about… this." He motioned his hands towards the ruined parasol on his leg. With a bend and a toss, he swiftly removed it. "I can buy another one…" As Darius looked to face her, his eyes met hers and he felt as if he was stuck on hers. "I'm Dariussss's cousin by the way if you know him. Famous elven poet out west... Anyway, MY name is Orland. Orland Legolas." He said clumsily with a smile. He didn't even notice her two guards.

Skar's horde continued their march southward, avoiding villages, but also taking, robbing, and killing any unlucky wanderer they came across in the wilderness. They stuck to the worn trails that nature aimed to take back, covered in vines and patches of long grown weeds.

There were no more solar boxes uncovered, which meant that information gathering was simply whatever they came across through interrogation or the pocket litter of the unlucky folk.

It was a sudden loud rustling in the brush ahead that caused the large group to halt and draw their weapons. Skar took aim with a newly crafted bow and arrows gifted to her by a group of goblins aiming rise in status from the gesture. To the average sized humanoid, the draw strength needed was near impossible and arrows themselves were comparable to miniature spears than actually arrows in size.

"Show yourself!" Skar shouted. The brush ahead became still before a large orc male wearing crimson red leather stepped out with both hands up and a hardened look on his face. Upon seeing Skar's horde clearly, he grinned slightly.

"Oi! Lookie here! I found me some brethren… well sorta I guess. Gotta odd group actually... Mostly green skins an' some bug wing slaves." The orc kept his hands up to appear as least threatening as possible while he scoped out the large group. He was trying to identify who or what they were, but Skar was way ahead of him. An orc wearing crimson leather and his ability to speak in these parts meant he was a member of the Bloodfang Clan.

In the past Skar remembered her previous clan, the Diamond Heart Clan holding back many attacks from their raiding parties. The Bloodfang used strange tactics that were often effective against her people. Skar was not a fan, but her Warpact would not exist if she had not taken the idea of leading a group of different kinds of creatures from them.

"Bloodfang! Move from Skar path or die in Skar path! Not in mood for talk!" Skar had wanted to reach the desert without coming into contact with the vicious orc clan, rumored to be more formidable than the Northern Clan of Orc Landing, The Unbroken.

"Whoa! Whoa there, Skar... Skar? Now that'sa name! He nodded before letting out a quick whistling sound. "Well Skar, we do wanna talk... Talk about ya riffraff stompin' allover our territory!" The orc kept his demeanor calm, but only because figures crept out from the treeline. Not from just the front either. When she glanced around, she found that she was not only surrounded, but possibly outnumbered as well. "You Diamond Hearts only ever listen when there's a blade at ya throat… But you ain't a Diamond Heart are ya, Outcast."

"Hey have you seen… a woman with white skin and long white hair… Like the color of snow! She's this tall, so really short and she has red eyes and um…" Darius frowned as the badger demihuman shook his head.

"Sorry fella. Haven't seen or heard of anyone with such a description… Skin like snow though? A well-dressed beauty with some really pale skin arrived with a elven noble recently, but she had dark hair, not white." The demihuman shrugged, knowing he was not much help.

"I don't think that's her, but thanks anyway." Darius gave him a nod as he walked off. I feel like I've asked half the town… Myra please be okay. No, we'll find each other. Like the first time. Darius sighed. Today was starkly different from last night's festivities.

Upon arriving yesterday, he had hit the bar and told the locals his name was Orland Legolas, a man of adventure who traveled around Avalia experiencing everything it had to offer. It was quite easy due to those he had run into since arriving. He spoke of the frosty haired winter fairies and how he had narrowly survived traversing through Orc Landing, dancing with the Angel of Death, saving mermaids from slavers, and of course roasting the absolute hell out of his "own kind". No elf was safe. Of course the stories were very skewed.

All the while, Vaeril was being Vaeril.

Enduring a hangover was the least of his worries now. He hoped he would find Myra today, but perhaps he arrived here much too soon. We'll find each other and then… I don't know.

He made his way toward the south end of the port town where water touched sand. An actual beach. Not something that Malgormuun conjured up from some old memory or whatever Orc Landing had… Now that was definitely NOT a beach.

Well time for the second thing I planned on doing while I'm here. He removed his jacket, leaving himself shirtless before placing it in the sand. Darius then moved close to the tide before going for a run along the beach. He let tide hit his boots as he tried to move at his natural speed despite the slight extra effort he exerted. I can be subtle and not expose my magic… Come on. Just like the frog, take in the water and then control it. It took several minutes, but he was able to focus on using his magic the way he wanted. Despite his stride being a bit off, he was moving quite fast with soaked leather boots on sand.

Valaeon had not expected the girl demihuman to return so soon. He gave her a toothy grin as he tilted his head to show off the horns on his head.

"Eat well and yours will end even better than they already are. Even better than mine! Be grateful to your youth as you have many more years to grow those already impressive horns.!" The dragonborn was always one to be positive to the youth as they would be next to hold the burdens left by the previous generations.

Carneylus' mention of rooms to stay in and food to eat for the arriving rebels caused him to nod in agreement. The girl's inquiry on the subject caused him to put on a serious face. A child knowing this information was troublesome. Her allegiance was fickle at most. He had to inform her of how important it was that she keep the arriving rebels a secret by going down to her level of thinking

"Not a word of this, young one... or I shall bull rush you! Unlike Carneylus I can keep my word!" He lowered his large horns to have them point at her before lifting his head with a smile. "Now let's feast! I will buy! And we will continue planning while filling out stomachs Carneylus! You may come too young one!"

Valaeon had worked and ate with Carneylus and his young friend in finding a suitable location for those of the rebellion that might not have a place to stay. They had managed to rent out a few old boathouses a quarter mile out of town. Each had an open bay room and any beds the two could acquire. The living arrangement was spacious but there would be little to no privacy in the bay rooms. It was expensive, but to Valaeon, it was worth it in reclaiming Avalia from the Lich.

He a lot of labor to tend to this morning, so having an extravagant night was off the table. He had gotten wind of a few travelers coming into town. One had stood out simply due to how loud he was. Someone even claimed he was louder than Valaeon… by Bahamut's platinum scales, that would be a person he would certainly have to meet. He was able to get a name.

Legolas… Certainly an elf...

At the moment Valaeon was carrying two large crates stacked atop each other with contents unknown to anyone but himself and whoever had provided him with them. He was headed to the boathouses.

Unless he says so. Well I guess all that bullshit you put me through was fucking worthless, Malgormuun.

How can you believe that after what you just did to that creature… And not even a word of guidance from me… Besides, pain is just weakness leaving the body, right?

"Huh?" Darius was confused as he heard the demon say something eerily familiar. Before he couldn't really give it much attention as Aklenroth continued.

”We are leaving for the port now.” Darius caught sight of the light portal, and if he was being honest, it kind of reminded him of Doctor Strange.

"What the…" Darus let out as the two stepped through and appeared somewhere else. He looked around quickly at his new surroundings and the port town visible in the distance. While smiling and shaking his head at Aklenroth, he pulled out a memory glass and aimed it towards the view. "I don't know if I should complain that you couldn't do this sooner or if I should just be…" Darius paused a moment as an odd feeling took hold of him. "Fucking hyped boiii! Haha! We made it!" The mournwine he had chugged earlier was beginning to take effect. Thinned mournwine. The human had never been exposed to such a concoction before.

Darius was experiencing a grand wave of excitement as he snapped multiple images of the view of the port town known as River Port before snapping one of Vaeril. He put the memory glass back into his pocket before pointing to his own round ears.

"Come on, hook me up. My other ones wore off! Then we can hit the bar. I'll buy!"

"So you can laugh at my jokes." Sean grinned for just a moment as he approached his catch. She was in a sorry state, but to him, she was lucky to still be alive… if he could call it that. "Since your friend won't pipe up, you get the chance to talk. Only one of you is gonna make it out of here, speak up and it'll be you." Sean's expression became cold as he unholstered his pistol and held it at his side.

"What…What the fuck do you even want?!"

"DON'T YOU DARE BETRAY ALE-"

BANG!

Sean's weapon rang out as he shot the ground. Both vampires flinched at the sudden blast of sound.

"Next one is in your fucking skull! She wants to live. Isn't that right?" He never turned to the armless vampire, keeping all his attention on the woman. She seemed to be weeping again but stopped the moment she heard the male hunter sigh in slight frustration.

"I want to live! I want to live! I want to live! Please… fuck that guy and FUCK Alexander! Just… Just ask." She was desperate as she felt Sean could just end things.

"Good. Tell me about the girl that was taken today." Sean said this, apparently having more knowledge than he had made Angel think. "Describe her. Don't need you making shit up."

"Yes there was one! I do not know what she looks like! I don't! Just that she was special enough that her captors were not killed for defying orders!" She nodded as tears streamed from her face. "Alexander called for a halt to operations until the witch is captured or killed."

"Where is the girl?"

"New Paeonia! She is in N-" Another shot fired. This one struck the woman's head, causing her body to go limp.

"YOU FUCKING-" Sean quickly shot him in the right eye socket. Sean remained silent, his breathing heavier.

Valaeon scratched the back of his head as he watched the young demihuman known as Minothea walk away with what he hoped was well-deserved amas. He recognized her, but could not recall if he had ever held a conversation with her.

"I shall do my best, young one!" Valaeon replied from his seat on the ground as he waved. "Good horns on that one. They will grow to be splendid someday. Not as grand as mine, but still something to be proud of!" He took a breath before addressing Carneylus seriously. "What was all that about. You gamble with children now? And you beat people up?" Valaeon stood up and glared at Carneylus with ferocity. His nostrils flared.

"I am disappointed that you failed to invite me to this battle! How could you be so selfish?! And to think I was going to share the good news of our future allies…" As ridiculous as it was, Valaeon remained somewhat serious. He placed a hand on Carneylus' shoulder and then let loose a jolly laugh. "Luckily for you, I forgive rather easily! Our friends have made it out of the city safely and they aim to come here. Right to us! I guess you really are lucky… hmm, but you lose bets… hmm. I guess that makes ME the lucky one!" Valaeon was on ten.
