“A man who knows his Greek mythology. Definitely a bonus.” The girl said in response to his remark about sirens.
“I prefer Norse, but most mythology is pretty cool.” Jareth responded. He wasn’t really a great student back in the day, but ancient history interested him the most, well, second to music and art class, that is. Crystalline blue eyes looked boldly into his as they shook hands. She ran her thumb softly against the back of his hand and he suddenly had no desire to let her go… so, he didn’t.
”Now, what if my name was Sarah? That would’ve been quite the story huh?” she joked. She was funny and a Labyrinth fan, she just kept getting better and better! Jar wasn’t one to throw around silly words like ‘soulmate’, but damn if she wasn’t close to perfection in his eyes. ”I’m Adelisa.” she said before blushing and letting go of his hand.
Adelisa… the name should sound familiar to him, but it doesn’t. Jules always referred to her as Addy, so the pieces didn’t click in Jar’s mind. Not yet, at least. Adelisa bit her lip amidst the silence, what a fucking adorable habit. Jareth had a similar nervous tick where he would spin his lip ring from the inside of his mouth using his tongue. Jar wasn’t doing that now though, because he wasn’t really nervous anymore. Too much bad shit had happened recently, it was about time something went his way, that's gotta be some law of the universe or something. He was, however, smiling like a fool.
”Goodness, you’re handsome when you smile.” Adelisa mumbled and then immediately went wide-eyed. ”Well that was not supposed to come out.”
Jar laughed in surprise, it was a warm and smokey sound in comparison to the usual breathy chuckle he afforded light jokes. ”Well, I’m certainly not offended, unless of course you didn’t mean it.” The scarlet afflicting her pale complexion betrayed that she did, in fact, mean it.
”There is nothing wrong with being forward. If everyone was so direct and honest about what they wanted, the world would be a much better place.” Jareth took a sip of his drink before gaining the courage to say the next part. ”Now, if might also be so blunt, I want you. In only a few short moments you have proven to be gorgeous, talented, and funny. I’m dying to know what else you have hiding behind those baby blues. Dance with me?” He invited, offering his arm to her to lead her back to the deck party to dance and see where the rest of the night might lead them.
