"Well done, Bram," Leon said, the magic of Mask translating his words into the mind of his summoned bat before it returned to it's home plane. The bat's report had been exceedingly useful, knowledge that the creature was indeed a golem and seemed to be following a set patrol route with pre-determined search points would help them avoid the creature altogether. Golems were tricky guardians to fight, often immune to nearly all forms of magic, possessing the strength of a dozen normal men and the endurance of the unliving. Their only weakness is that they couldn't make their own decisions, so it depended on the cleverness of the creator to issue them the right orders. The patrol pattern was one obvious weakness, but it couldn't be ignored that the golem likely had orders to respond to suspicious noises or disturbances as well.

"The golem continually checks the first floor. We may have a rough idea of it's schedule, but if there is any deviation from that schedule or if we get distracted and lose track of the timing we will anger something I do not think any of us are prepared to destroy. Certainly not quietly enough to avoid drawing the attention of our target," Leon said, sighing in a bit of resignation, "and I am loathe to channel any further powerful blessings from Mask lest we find ourselves having to deal with our target or any other magically inclined individuals."

"The second floor is simply too inviting to ignore. It is possible there are magical wards or traps, but we may just have to risk the maybe instead of the likelihood of us being caught on the first. Once we ascend to the second floor, the snowstorm should give me enough cover to weave a spell to let me detect magic within about fifty feet in my line of sight for a few minutes. As long as someone checks for physical alarms on the window, we should be able to enter without issue," Leon said, his hand reaching for the mask at his waist and sliding it up to his face, "shall we?"
So much violence!

Someone should call the cops *sagenod*
Val: Let's Analyze this situation. Identify potential flaws. Draw them into conversation. Find their weakness and exploit it.

Mercyval:
Should work either way on my end. But just to cast a non neutral vote let's break it up
Fire. Violence. Death.

After being chained up inside of Val for so long, denied again and again his right to feed and only able to take his frustrations out on the man that had become his partner, Mercy reveled in the sweet release as Val's spirit now encouraged their merged form to do what Mercy did best. Fuck. Everything. Up.

The Abyssal Energy rounds bit into his armored plates, interrupting his sweet savoring of the moment. The Wendigo he recognized from their first encounter surging to a size similar to his own. He could sense the Wild's primal savagery, a match for his own. Perhaps another day one of them might devour the other. For now, they had some very foolish men to kill.

Savio's flames licked all around the man as he seemed to battle imaginary foes scattered throughout. Mercyval could barely feel his heat, like an irritating gust of wind as long as he couldn't concentrate it on him. That was fine. If the riflemen wanted to die first, then who was he to tell them no? Mercyval's eyes flashed purple, Val's influence guiding him away from the charge that would have put him in the way of the Wendigo's attacks and towards a different possibility.

He stood up on his hind legs, getting as tall as he possibly could. He was presenting himself as a target, his form tempting them with the easy shots even if they had little prayer of damaging the armored plates without Abyssal Energy. Moving his hands together, he used his own claws to slice open on of his palms, molten blood beginning to pool and bubble. Laughing through the pain, Mercyval reached out and swatted the corner off of part of the towers hard enough to send chunks of concrete, glass, and molten blood scattering among the forces arrayed behind the convoy. His other three limbs dropped into place strategically around the convoy, shielding as many vehicles as possible with his own body as he spat out another insult towards Savio.

"Teacht ar tine eitilt, nó beidh mé agat chun Déan dhéanamh glan mo iníon le... Vinny," Mercyval rumbled, his head turning slowly towards where Vin and his bears were fighting.

<Come on firefly, or will I have to make do cleaning my teeth with... Vinny>
Leon watched the estate, though there was little information to be gleaned aside from the report by Firoz. The guards and overwatching crossbowmen were nothing, unless Leon and Iliskra made some critical mistake they could take out two separate pairs like that without breaking a sweat. And with the cover of the snowstorm they could leave the bodies to be covered by the snow without much consequence. Still, the creature Firoz had mentioned... he would have preferred to have more details.

"Thats sounds like three options then," Leon said, nodding along as he brushed a hand against his mask, "I'm fairly certain we can deal with the roof guards without much issue. Which would make a window the best entry point. However, there are a few pieces of information I would like to have... starting with what that large lumbering creature is."

"The good news is there are ways for us to learn that without exposing ourselves to the creature," Leon said, his eyes looking back out towards the barn, "a lone groundskeeper should be easy enough to lean on or bribe... the barn may even tell us what sort of other creatures this person likes to keep on the property. The only trouble is if the groundskeeper proves uncooperative a scuffle might alert the beast or the guards to investigate."

"Second option is a bit more... weighty in terms of payment. Mask does grant me the blessing of calling on servants from the shadows, things that emulate normal creatures," Leon continued, figuring the vague explanation was enough. After all Iliskra had already seen him summon a fiendish wolf, the idea of other companion creatures was surely not a great leap in logic. "A bat could tell us much of the interior and even if it did not recognize the creature, could provide us a description. Their senses are also not easily fooled by illusion or magical disguise."

"The last option is perhaps the greatest in terms of risk, but if the cellar door is magically warded, there may only be some traps we need to work past for infiltration. I may be able to dispel the magic depending on it's strength," Leon sighed a bit as he mentioned this, "not my favorite choice obviously, but if anyone here has an additional reason for venturing those routes I thought it best to mention that doorway could be opened to us."

"Thoughts?," he said, turning towards Iliskra.

XD in another life where she made better decisions, the way things are going for her I can't see a reality where they'd accept her lol

As things develop some more can we please, just as a one off unrelated entirely to main plot, have a beach episode where these characters are just trying to be normal people without ending up strangling each other to death XD

Khor in a wet suit running at the ocean screaming "I'M GONNA PUNCH A SHARK!" as things devolve back on shore. I think I'd lose my mind hahaha.

Leon calls dibs on manning the grill
New goal of the RP. Get Asterion laid.

That's the real source of the gyft

XD in all fairness Leon would probably have the best chance through just presence of authority (I feel like Leon is the kind of guy people go quiet around when he enters a room, at least before they know him) by commanding a moment of clarity just through presence for Khor to actually focus on it. In another life she absolutely would've been the budding buddy cop always trying to get a rise out of Leon while secretly admiring his ideals and efforts (She'd never admit it, but she'd be a soppy shit about it lol).

Burberry PD is always recruiting. Lmao

I think Leon and Asterion could bond over being married to their roles and knowing it's too dangerous to even think about such feeble things.

Score! Phase 1 of Leon - Asterion fan fiction is in place.
