It was a touching conclusion to what could have been a violent altercation. Cloud was actually amazed that the would-have-been battle with the Senior Poppy Bros turned out to be a peaceful resolution. The ex-SOLDIER gazed upon Frisk differently. No longer did he see them as a child. Perhaps it was a good idea that they were a leader on this mission for if it had been his more violent teammates, then who knew how messy the situation would have been? Cloud walked over to Alicia and Frisk as the First Bro wept at their feet and begged for forgiveness. He was quiet throughout the exchange. All he did was listen until their pacifism resulted in the Senior Bros volunteering to get them passed the fourth floor. A small smile curved on Cloud’s face at that relief. They were closer and closer to the end.
The swordsman joined his group in following the bros to the fourth floor. He could smell salt and a dampness on the air. The sea? When an ocean actually appeared to be all the fourth floor was, his mouth dropped a little. If they hadn’t won the Bros’ favor, then the level would have been absolutely treacherous. Bursting from the water, a fat whale called “Fatty” (no kidding) soared over Cloud’s head. He watched the massive whale plunge into the water without even causing a tidal wave and then paddle over to them. They would have had to fight a whale? Was that a pipe!?
After barely any leg-pulling, or in Fatty’s case, fin-tugging, the whale agreed to let them all safely pass. Cloud closed his eyes again. They were just being spared a horrible situation one after the other.
“Frisk; I think I’m gonna have to buy you an ice cream after this,” Cloud told the kid leader.
However, the warning about the boss or more like “bosses” in the next room put the swordsman on edge. His relieved and happy expression sharpened with sternness. He didn’t like the sound of that warning. After the Poppy Bros thanked Frisk and the rest of Dedede’s goons bade them goodbye, as the group started walking, Cloud voiced his concern just as Frisk was getting excited: “Your pacifism may not work this time, Frisk.”
Alicia shared similar concerns. He agreed when she mentioned King Dedede and the virus he was infected with. “It’s true. You will have to be careful.”
