Bio

Hello all. I am an experienced writer who is writing my own fiction stories on the side. I can role play any genre. What I love most is being able to go-all-out when weaving tales with other writers. It just makes the story more interesting, so I can't wait to write with you. :)

@Crusader LordI was playing Breath of the Wild (BoW), and then thought, "Hey, a Zelda AU would make for an interesting RP." I had it in draft for a few days because at first the idea was broad. I then realized that I had to choose a time period since each of the games had a different storyline. So I chose to usw BoW. So I am giving this a shot just like all those who submit interest. :)

There are some more things that I want to add to the CS, but I figured we can add them after I get an approved group.

Thank you for submitting interest.

This is a Legend of Zelda game based on the Breath of the Wild story line. However, you do not have to have played Breath of the Wild in order to participate in this RPG. This story is an alternate universe story, and most of what you need to know is mentioned in this interest check. Whatever isn't mentioned can easily be referenced on most wikia sites.

The Legend of Zelda game, Breath of the Wild, takes place in a mildly advanced future of Hyrule, involving magic and machines. A great evil known as Calamity Ganon terrorized Hyrule for ten millennia, causing the advanced civilization to devolve into a medieval state. He was defeated by Princess Zelda’s champion Link and sealed away, but prophecy of his return alerted the Hyrulians and they thus began excavating their ancestors’ mecha technology. They uncovered four divine beasts and chose four champions to pilot them. When Ganon broke his seal and returned to Hyrule, he took over the machines, possessing them with his dark power known as “The Blight.” He killed the champions and gravely wounded Zelda’s hero Link. In order to save Link’s life, Zelda preserved his body in a special chamber where he would sleep for 100 years. Zelda went to challenge Ganon alone, using the power granted to her by the goddess Hylia, and no one has seen her since.

To this day, Hyrule Castle is surrounded by a black and red tornado. The machines that once fought Ganon’s minions, large, spider-like machines known as Guardians have been blighted and guard Hyrule Castle from any armies that attempt to take it back. In this original story, the question is asked: What if Link never woke up? This is where our story begins.

Hyrule still exists in a dilapidated state. Ruins of towns and temples scatter the fields and fill the forests, attracting the greedy eyes of treasure hunters. Deadly Guardians roam the land, destroying towns and vaporizing innocent travelers who stumble within its eyesight. Bokoblins, and other vicious servants of Ganon harass travelers and towns, continuing to spread Ganon’s calamity. The people of Hyrule have learned to endure their hardship and while they hope to be freed from their aberration, most have lost hope and live day-to-day as much as they can. Their continued prayers to the four goddesses: Nayru, Din, Farore, and Hylia; were eventually heard. Without realizing it, four babes were born with the blood of the goddesses, and their destiny, to liberate Hyrule from Ganon.

Basically, this is going to be a small group game with three other writers besides the GM. You are playing a child of one of the four Golden Goddesses: Farore, Goddess of Courage; Nayru, Goddess of Wisdom; Din, Goddess of Power; and Hylia, The Benevolent Demiurge. What these kids all have in common is that they do not remember their past. They have always been orphans, and they have always seemed different from the other beings of Hyrule. They each possess the mark of their respective goddess. There is a destiny that draws these kids together and leads them to ultimately join together and defeat Calamity Ganon.

I am going to be recruiting dedicated writers who are interested in creating stories in our Legend of Zelda alternate universe (AU). I will only be picking the best concept (and yes, this is subjective). If I pick a character over another character, it does not mean you are a bad writer or that your concept wasn’t good enough. As the GM, I am just picking the best concept that fits well in the game. So multiple writers are welcome to apply. Only three will be chosen unless I get more than three really good concepts. If I get more than three, then I do not mind expanding the game a little. We'll figure something out don't worry. It's the story and quality that counts!

All I ask is please be respectful, be willing to interact with others, and definitely bring your imagination to this game. This game is going to need writers rather than role players. Writers are capable of carrying a story without much GM intervention. They use NPCs, and they can create the entire world around them. The role player is expecting the GM to guide them in the right direction. Therefore, they are not always capable of operating independently. If you are more of a role player than a writer, then do not apply to this game. As the GM, I cannot force you to interact with others and bring fun and interesting drama to this game. Therefore, for this small group, I need everyone to be a writer and be capable of story-weaving and adding depth to their characters.

If you are still interested in this story, then continue reading onward.

These races are playable, but this game does not require every character to play a different race. All characters can be Hylians for all I care. There is no obligation so please do not force yourself to play something you have no interest in playing because you think it adds variety to the game. Play only what interests you.

Hylians: They are the race believed to be blessed by the gods. They are adept with magic, potion-making, and technology. Even though, technology now a days in the game has been reduced to ruins. They resemble Elves and function like humans in appearance and personality.

Sheikah: They are an ancient and considered extinct race of humans who (in Breath of the Wild) live in secret. Sheikah are known for their stark-white hair and live in a Feudal Japan-style society. They are responsible for protecting and serving the goddesses and the Hylian Royal Family. They were the secret soldiers who went to great lengths to ensure they succeeded in their mission. Their symbol is a Single Eye with a Tear drop. Supposedly, there is a hidden village in the mountains where all the Sheikah reside called “Kakariko Village.”

Goron: The Gorons are a humanoid folk who hail from the mountains, most well-known Death Mountain, and live off the nutritious rocks found around. Physically, they started off as bare before learning to wear loincloths and sporting intricate tattoos. Some Gorons even have hair and beards. They have the unique ability to roll themselves into giant balls and slide down mountain sides. They can climb onto the backs of each other and propel themselves to higher elevations. Gorons are rarely seen. They have always been portrayed as helpful and friendly, and very stuck in their ways to the point of distrust. But once a Goron’s trust is won, they trust for life! Gorons have displayed advanced technological skills (like Dwarves) due to their mines and a deep spirituality that rivals the Hylians.

Zora: Zoras have their own monarchy and history. They are pretty civilized and think very highly of themselves. They are the “fish people.” These aquatic humanoids don’t have much mystery to them and they are charged with overseeing Hyrule’s waterways. They have a close relationship with the Hylian Royal Family bested only by the Sheikah. Unlike the other races, the Zoras have their own patron deity named Lord Jabu-Jabu.

Rito: The Rito are the “bird people.” They are humanoid birds who live high in the mountains and cliffs of Hyrule. Interestingly, the Rito were once Zoras. Some Zora colonists who grew tired of the sea and desired to be close to the sky, left into the mountains to create a civilization that overtime evolved into birds. The Rito, like the Zora, have a patron diety named Lord Valoo. Valoo only speaks the ancient Hylian tongue, and therefore, only few can understand him. Valoo is the god that grants Rito who come of age the ability to fly with one of his scales. Rito are rarely seen in regions at lower elevations preferring their high roosts close to the sky.

Gerudo: The Gerudo are the most unique human race in all the land. They are a tribe consisting of only women and every 100 years a male is born. As soon as the male is born, he is instantly declared their king. Ganondorf, the human-form of Ganon, was this male reborn as a Gerudo after his sealing by princess Zelda. As Ganondorf, he attempted to ally with the Hyrule Royal Family in order to one day take Princess Zelda as his bride. He attempted to overthrow the king, but his plot was thwarted long ago by the champion Link (so the stories say). Since this incident, the Gerudo have had a very bad relationship with other races. They are believed to be thieves and aren’t at all trusted. They are considered lawless and uncivil.

Human: Humans are, well, Humans. It is unknown if they are the base race for all the other humanoids in Hyrule, but they are easily identified by their ear shape. Unlike Hylians, they do not have pointed ears. Humans are the main race that dominate the land and possess no supernatural perks.

The races mentioned above are the only playable races, but they are not the only races in the game. Because there are multiple other races in the Zelda universe, I did not list them. However, they can be referenced as NPCs as long as it makes sense for them to be in a location.

Fated to Meet

During this chapter, we will discuss how our characters will meet. Our characters, I'm sure will come from various backgrounds, but they can meet in various ways. One could be a traveler. Another could work at an Inn that another character stops at. I will be creating events that bring our characters closer to the next chapter and revealing the overall game story. In Chapter One, our characters will be teenagers. In the next chapter, which will be 10 years later, they will be much older. Some characters may have changed in appearance to show their maturation.

Nayru: Nayru is one of the three Golden Goddesses who created the realm of Hyrule along with parallel realms such as the Sacred Realm. She is the source of the fundamental laws that govern the realm. Her essence, as well as the essence of her two sisters, Farore and Din, is the source of the Golden Power within the omnipotent sacred relic, the Triforce. Her crest is the Mark of Nayru. Nayru is the Goddess of Wisdom and is revered for establishing the physical and meta-physical laws of Hyrulean existence as well as the designer of space-time itself. She is commonly associated with the element of water and is worshipped as the Goddess of the Seas and other great bodies of water such as lake Hylia. Because she is the creater of law, she is also worshipped as the Goddess of Time. Symbols and talismans associated with Nayru are often colored blue. Of all the Hyrulean realm, her essence is best personified by the Zoras (however, the player who wishes to play a child of Nayru does not have to be a Zora). As for musical instruments, she is associated with string instruments. Nayru characteristics are high intelligence and a natural affinity for magic.

Din: Din is one of the three omnipotent Golden Goddesses who created the Land of Hyrule. Din’s essence as well as the essence of her sisters, Nayru and Farore, is the source of the Golden Power within the sacred relic known in legend as the Triforce. Her crest is the Mark of Din. Din is the Goddess of Power and is associated with themes that exemplify power. Her elements are often fire and earth. Mountains and volcanoes are her creation and her talismans are often themed with the color red. Of the races of Hyrule, Din’s essence is most exemplified by the Goron race (however, the player who wishes to play a child of Din does not have to be a Goron). Characteristics of Din are physical strength, competitiveness, toughness, and arrogance. Musical instruments associated with Din are percussion.

Farore: Farore is one of the three Golden Goddesses who created the realm of Hyrule. She is the source of all life that exists in realm. Farore’s essence as well as the essence of her two sisters, Din and Nayru, is the source of the Golden Power within the omnipotent sacred relic, the Triforce. Her crest is the Mark of Farore. Characteristics of Farore are courage and magic. Farore is the creator of all life that exists within the Hyrulean realm. She is associated with regions that flourish with it such as the Lost Woods and Faron Woods. She is also worshipped as the Goddess of the Winds, and thus her essence is represented by the wind. Her symbols and talismans are associated with the color green. Farore is closely associated with forest-dweller races such as the Kokiri and the Deku. She is commonly associated with wind instruments such as the ocarina or the flute.

Hylia: Hylia is the goddess who supposedly was the first incarnation of Zelda that started the Hyrule royal line, and the divine blood they were believed to have. With the death of each Zelda, she is reincarnated time and time again in human form. She is depicted in statues and ancient text to resemble an angel. When the Golden Goddesses supposedly departed the world, they entrusted the protection of the world and the Triforce to Hylia. The color that represents this goddess is White. Unlike the other three children, a children of Hylia is the goddess in human form. The character playing the human form of Hylia, however, does not have to be female. They can be either male or female at their choice. Characteristics of Hylia are calm, caring, empathic, protective and having a good singing voice.

1. Do not come to this game to argue. If you read over this recruitment thread, and saw something that you didn't like, then move on.
2. Whatever the GM says goes. I try to be fair to the best of my ability. However, I do not try to please the world nor do I care to. If we discuss an issue and we can't seem to come to an agreement, then it is best that the issue is dropped.
3. If someone chose the goddess you wanted. The best concept is going to be placed in the game, so still submit your CS. You never know if your CS will be chosen over another person's.
4. Images. Be mindful of the size of your images. If it is too big for the screen, then put a hider around it or make it a url.
5. Read my Game. I did not write this for my health. I wrote this mostly for you than for me. The number one way to get on my shit list is to show me that you didn't read my game. The best way you do this is by frequently asking me questions that are answered in the damn OP. If I suspect you're not thoroughly reading this OP, then I'm going to stop caring and you're not going to be allowed in this game. Why would I allow a person whose hand I would have to hold throughout the game because they don't want to read a freakin' text role play game on a text role play site?
6. GM questions. If you ask a question, mention me. If you're talking to me, mention me. If you want my attention mention me because that is what that button is for. If it looks like I ignored you, 99.9% of the time it is because you didn't mention me and I lost your comment or question in the OOC flood. Mention me. Mention me. Mention me. I have to repeat this because people don't do it.
7. Edits, Changes, Finish your CS. If you finish your CS, and you do not resubmit the CS, then I'm not going to know that you finished it. I will not be checking YOUR CS to make sure you finished it. So if you want to be in this game, as soon as you finish your CS, or make any changes the GM may have asked you to make to your CS, you either let the GM know or you resubmit it. If you do not do these two things, I miss your CS, and the game starts without you. It is your fault. Not mine. Be proactive.
8. Be open and friendly. I am very big on character interaction. It is often overlooked in games. Please collaborate with other writers in this game. This game will become way more interesting if you do.
9. Romance. I like romance. Some of us do. But if you plan on walking the borderline of the Guild rules, then take it into PMs or a 1x1.
10. Have fun. There is only so much I can do as a GM. I cannot make you have fun. I cannot make you enjoy the character that you created. I cannot make you seek out writers to collaborate with. All I do is guide the game and make sure everything goes forward and not backwards. You have to do the rest. So please make the most of this game.

Phase One: Interested Players

To be filled out as players mention interest.

Phase Two: Character Sheets submitted for Review.

To be filled out as CSes are submitted.

Phase Three: Approved Character Concepts.

To be filled out as CSes are approved. CSes submitted and competing for the same deity will take a little longer to consider. Only because usually depending on how many people are submitting a sheet, I'll be waiting only 7 days for their CS. If it's not submitted within that time frame, then the first concept may or may not win. Again, it's subjective. If your concept doesn't fit the bill, I will tell you right away so you don't have to bother competing. Only concepts that would have been approved will be considered for the competition.

Cloud’s mako-green eyes widened in fright when he watched King Dedede suddenly expand like a balloon. His mouth fell open when bursting out of the penguin was the black gunk that had been spewed from his beak moments before. It took on an animate form and blinded the room with its light. Cloud released his sword to raise the back of his hand in a fist to veil his eyes from the light. As the light started to fade, the entire chamber that was once black with darkness was gleaming in a purple and white aura. Cloud gazed over his shoulder to check the door. The entire room was encased in the boss’s aura.

“Shit,” Cloud hissed under his breath. Frisk was doing their CHECK thing, Alicia was already attacking, and the creature’s eye passed over them all to target Banjo and Kazooie. The floor caved beneath them, forcing Banjo to his paws. He then overheard Frisk scream for them to aim for the eye. Of course. The eyes were always the most vulnerable organ. Cloud’s grip tightened on his sword and he took a single step to prepare for an attack when he felt a stream of adrenaline passing through his veins.

The swordsman stopped and lowered his sword. He turned one of his hands palm-up and stared at his hand curiously. This was it. The final boss. They were at the end of their journey. The mystery of Mario’s hat and soul was solved—it wasn’t there. Naija’s missing greaves were right before them being guarded by the very infection that had been possessing King Dedede all this time. Cloud clenched his fist and it shook as the blonde blades of his hair started to rise. He could feel the power starting to rise, and rather than attack, he decided to Defend. He lifted the hilt of his sword, aiming the tip of the blade at the floor, and guarded. It seemed like a wasted opportunity, but he could feel a great power rising within him and he wanted to conserve his energy on allowing it to build.

The metal legs of the winged greaves made a loud marching clack noise as they turned around to have the fat penguin face the group. His flipper was still on his stomach and his beak was opening and closing with his labored breaths. His red circular eyes glowed in the blackness of the chamber as he stared at the heroes. He answered Frisk as though out of breath, “Mario’s soul?...and hat? You mean to tell me…you came all the way here…for that?”

The bird guffawed once and his laugh turned into a harsh cough and hack until spilling from his mouth was a black gunk. He vomited twice. Black ooze slapped all over the floor before his metal feet. His flipper rose from his belly to his mouth to wipe away a stray black strand of drool. “I don’t have long…” he muttered, thinking aloud. “You must have bested many of my men to get here…I suppose that’s good…it means you can kill whatever’s inside of me.”

His stomach groaned loudly, and then billowed and sank as though something were moving within it. Dedede dropped his flipper and began to sweat, it returning to his moving gut. “I…I made a mistake…He was…he was supposed to give me power…I traded Mario’s things for power…so I could beat Kirby…”

“A man…or…maybe it was a monster…he was wearing a black cloak, so I couldn’t tell. I gave those things to him.”

King Dedede’s body suddenly expanded into a large round sphere. His eyes grew to the size of saucers before the metal greaves tipped over, dumping the massive penguin ball onto his back. The king went rolling backwards across the floor until his back struck the wall. Flapping his flippers in a panic, King Dedede exclaimed, “What did he do to me!? HELP! I DON’T WANT TO DIE! I DON’T-URK!”

King Dedede’s head snapped back and mouth stretched wide as a black tower rose from his throat. His mouth stretched wider than normal as the black gunk rose into the air before it bent over in an arch. As the blackness started to plunge toward the floor, it sprouted two arm-like limbs. Its limbs rested on the floor and between its arms opened a large eye. The eye widened, and its body shook, as the darkness that filled the room was soon swallowed in a radiate white light that might have temporarily blinded the heroes if they stared. As the light faded in brightness, the dark energy continued to rise like purple and white flames in the chamber. The boss had revealed itself and beneath it lay Naija’s lost greaves. The boss’s eye darted between the five heroes before it starburst-eye shrank threateningly.

A black surge of magic began to rise beneath Dedede’s hijacked body, and beneath the feet of Banjo, the floor began to crater. A great gravity pulled on the bear and bird, threatening to crush them into the very floor (Gravitonne).

A tear drop descended behind Cloud’s head as he watched the antics between Wario and Waluigi. They were asking these idiots for help? Once Wario managed to round up his cowardly brother, on Frisk’s order, Cloud took his position at their side. The boss door was opened and the thick black aura made the hair rise on the back of the swordsman’s neck. It reminded him of his battle with Sephiroth in The Crater when he had absorbed the Black Materia. The energy was evil, and naturally his gloved hand reached behind his head to grasp the hilt of his Butterfly Edge. Cloud descended with the others into the final room. As they light gradually faded and the darkness embraced them, Cloud began to reflect on how far they had come. Frisk’s pacifistic nature had allowed them to skip a lot of unnecessary drama. It was almost as if he couldn’t believe they were actually here.

Wario and Waluigi started to show their yellow bellies. Cloud merely passed them. The last step had him standing at the mouth of an empty chamber. Hunched over on metal legs and breathing hard was King Dedede. He didn’t look or sound good one bit, and Cloud’s grip uncomfortably tightened on his sword. Frisk did what they did best and attempted to talk to the penguin boss, but Cloud shook his head. He quietly muttered to Frisk, “He’s infected. The gnorcs looked like this, and there was no cure for them.”

It was as though his own realization had compelled him to finally draw his sword from its sheath and ready it before him. It didn’t help to encourage peace between Frisk and the infected boss, but based on his experience, Cloud was convinced that there would be no saving Dedede even if he did tell them where Mario’s hat and soul was.

Dr. Light listened to Naija’s added intel and Bentley’s astute hypothesis as he gazed up at a screen that was zooming in on Guile’s wound. He hmmed softly to himself as he processed it all, and momentarily peered over his shoulder to see a turtle in a wheelchair. Regardless, he was thinking along the same lines as him. Fascinating. Dr. Light was soon quickly distracted once the microscope had zoomed in as close as it could. Dr. Light gasped as his cloudy brows shot upward. The group would be able to see small colorful cubes breaking off and vanishing. The pixels that comprised every character in Arcade were breaking apart and being destroyed only to reform from the healing vat. The doctor paled a little.

“I…I’ve never seen anything like it. Guile’s pixels are being destroyed. If Rosalina and Naija hadn’t acted quickly enough, then Guile could have very well been…” Dr. Light hesitated to say it. It was a horrible fate and he had heard very rare cases of it happening. Erased.

Dr. Light turned from the console to stare at the group with a contemplative frown. He felt so confused and horrified. “I can’t believe the enemy possesses such a frightening weapon.” He rested a hand against his forehead, trying to focus his startled mind. “They took a bear and a virus-infected bag with a dimension inside of it. If Dr. Solus was conducting research on it before the attack, then we may be able to learn more about why they took it. I don’t want to say that the bag is a small matter, but that weapon…”

“Dr. Solus is in no condition to aid us but…” Dr. Light looked at Bentley. “You mentioned hacking. Could you possibly hack into Dr. Solus’s computer and find where he keeps his research about that dimension Naija spoke of?”

Lowering his hand, Dr. Light gazed down at Kirby who was giving him a blank expression. Sparx and Hunter who had also arrived with the group were also wearing blank expressions. Hunter muttered out of the corner of his mouth to Sparx: I think he’s saying something really bad, but I don’t quite get it.

Sparx blinked and whispered back, “I don’t either.”

Dr. Light decided to educate them since he had an audience of various intelligence levels. “Pixels are the building blocks of all beings in Arcade. Usually, when you destroy an enemy from your universe, they vanish. They aren’t erased and the enemies aren’t really gone. They’re just not formed. This weapon doesn’t scatter pixels back into the universe. It destroys them. Thus, why we can still save the hero, Mario. I don’t entirely understand how Guile is still alive, but I can only assume it is because the healing magic and the healing properties of this broth are taking pixels from the surrounding environment and adding them to Guile’s being. We can be at ease that there is an infinite amount of pixels drifting around us.”

Pixels were like matter in the Arcade verse, but unlike matter, they could be created and through an unknown method, destroyed. “But pixels don’t just destroy themselves. This was caused by that sword, and for the sword to have wounded him, it must use a special function—a code. Codes are what determine our very existence. How we appear; how we move; our roles and powers...”

Dr. Light’s eyes widened a little. He could feel the answer at the forefront of his brain. As Dr. Light fell silent in his contemplation, Kirby jogged over to Bentley and raised his nubby arms as he hopped up and down.

“Ey!” he answered the turtle’s question. He knew who Meta Knight and his goons were.

Rosalina turned to Bentley and said, “Kirby knows, but he’s difficult to understand.”

As James arrived, Rosalina couldn’t help but smile in relief at his appearance. Seeing the senior members always made her feel a little more hopeful. “Vault Boy has taken over the Ragnarok to ensure the others make it back from Dream Land. Alucard is off with another group exploring a haunted castle. Artanis has been absent late. I don’t think it is anything we have to worry about. He usually goes off on his own. The Prince and Headmaster Cid are investigating the infiltration into our universe.”

Wario paused in shoveling gold. He arched a brow at Frisk’s question. He listened to Frisk as they offered their recruitment pitch. His beady eyes then darted over to Cloud who echoed Frisk’s desire for his power. Fuck Waluigi, he didn’t do shit. Wario frowned at the group and then closed his eyes. Releasing the gold bag, he folded his muscular arms before his chest and tilted his head up toward the ceiling. Geez, they really need my help. Then again, this could just be a trick to keep me from leaving with all the riches. But if they die fighting King Dedede, then I may not get far enough away. Help or don’t help…if I don’t help them, then they could die and King Dedede could come afta’ me. If I do help them, and we do beat him, then I get the entire kingdom. I’ll be Dream Land’s next king. I’ll have everything.

Oddly, Wario pinched the end of his moustache and twisted it as a large greed-filled grin expanded on his face. He giggled at his internal plot and then rose to his feet. His weight caused him to slide down the side of the gold mountain to land upon the floor before Frisk and the others.

“All right; you chumps have me convinced. I’ll help ya defeat the penguin. Afterwards, I’ll claim my crown and throne. King Wario! WEH-HEH-HEH-HEH!” Wario proudly laughed. He then raised his arms and flexed his muscles as he declared, “You’re lucky that I still got strength to spare.”

Waluigi stood there obliviously with a sack of gold. “Um…Wario. What do you want me to do?”

Wario lowered his arms and rested his hands on his hips. “Hm…I suppose you can come along if you think you’ll be of any use.”

Waluigi’s grip tightened on the gold bag. “I think I would rather stay here.”

Wario’s face flashed red with anger. “So you can run away with the loot if we lose!? You’re coming with us!”

Waluigi tensed and threw the coin bag over his shoulder. “I would rather pass, wah!”

The evil brothers comically began racing around The Vault, chasing each other. They ran up mountains of gold, through them, and Waluigi even tried hiding before Wario grabbed him by his leg and dragged him across the floor.

“No! I don’t wanna die! I just wanna be rich, wah!” Waluigi screamed as his nails left lines in the floor.

Wario stomped along toward the boss door. “Let’s get this over with.”

The fat warrior swung his foot up and kicked open the massive boss doors with a loud bang. The doors flew open and the black energy palpably flooded free. Before them was an enormous staircase that led straight down to the first floor. There had to be over one hundred steps. The further they descended, the stronger the aura seemed to become until it was almost suffocating. Waluigi was shaking like a leaf while Wario was frowning, just clenching his face muscles to try and appear brave. His armpits had sprung a leak. What did he get himself into? This guy was probably a nightmare.

Swallowing a hard lump that had formed in his throat, Wario stopped when he realized that he was leading the group. He turned to the others to try and start a distracting conversation to have them go first.

“Wow, it’s hard to see with all of this black stuff in the air, huh?” he said with a forced smile.

If the group continued, they would arrive at an empty chamber. The only one hunched over inside it was King Dedede. His back was facing the group. His breaths were heavy and laborious and his eyes were gleaming red. Sweat was dripping from his face as his flipper rested on his stomach. The penguin overheard the footsteps and turned his red spheres over his shoulder to gaze at the team.

“Oh…” King Dedede breathed as though it took much energy to talk. “So…you all made it…I’m amazed…I thought my minions would have crushed you for sure…I underestimated you.”

The penguin was still perched on the metal winged greaves Naija used to own. They were the only things allowing him to move for he seemed to be suffering from a serious condition.

Cloud’s arms remained crossed before his chest. Wario was absolute scum and Waluigi was just a follower. He only cared about himself and they were wasting their time trying to seek his help. At least that was what Cloud thought. He didn’t try to get in Frisk’s way when they decided to reason with them. More like…Ask Wario for his help. Cloud frowned. It wasn’t a bad idea, but he didn’t like it. Wario couldn’t be trusted. No matter what the fat man was capable of, he just couldn’t be trusted. He seemed like the type to flee once he realized he wasn’t going to win. But Cloud wasn’t trying to think about not winning. The bosses had been formidable. If he recalled one fight in the Smash Arena, King Dedede was very similar to Kirby. Thank goodness he wasn’t Kirby.

Alicia and BK confirmed that Mario’s Soul and Hat weren’t in The Vault. If they weren’t here or with King Dedede, then where could they be? It seemed that King Dedede would be the only one who would have the answer they sought. Deciding to help Frisk’s plan with encouragement, Cloud sighed and added, “They’re right. We may not stand a chance without your help. You took on three bosses by yourselves and it seems you effortlessly defeated them. The seven of us could make short work of King Dedede and what happens when a king is defeated? The winner gets the spoils. I don’t think The Council will allow us to claim Dream Land, but seeing as you haven’t been officially recruited to the team, there’s no reason why you guys can’t have it.”

Cloud shrugged and then spoke to the others, “I’m sure King Dedede knows what he did with Mario’s Hat and Soul. What I can’t guarantee is if we’ll get an answer. We have to try and get him to tell us where they are or we may not ever find them. How we do that? I have no idea. Let’s just hope the penguin likes to talk.”

Ulfric had ordered the heroes to wake, but The President didn’t budge. He remained curled up in his bedroll with his back to the rest of the tent. Kinzie’s voice crept into his ear: “Booo~sss…” He didn’t respond. “Wakey, wakey, sleepy head. You’re not on the ship. Remember?”

His brows converged on his forehead, and he didn’t even bother to open his eyes. He kept his bedroll gripped tight and muttered groggily, “Fuck off…”

Kinzie sighed. “Get up or I’ll start singing ‘Work’ by Rihanna.”

The Boss’s eyes cracked open. “Kinzie…you better fucking-”

“Work, work, work, work, work, work; you see me I be…”

The Boss groaned and squirmed as though he was in pain. “God, make it stop!” His hands then desperately went to cup his ears. “Stop! STOP!” He looked like a crazy person, grabbing his head and screaming. The President finally sat up with an exasperated sigh when Kinzie stopped. “Fuck,” he muttered. He took in his surroundings and seemed to scowl as though disappointed to still be stuck inside the video game. “No eggs; bacon; no nothing. Not even coffee. Everybody’s gonna hate me…(as though they didn’t already).”

Tossing aside some drapes, blankets, who knew what it really was. He rose to his feet and blew his breath on his hand and sniffed it. “At least there isn’t any morning breath in this simulation. I probably don’t even need a shower.”

“Will you stop sniffing yourself? That is so disturbing.”

“Kinzie, do I stink?”

“I don’t know. I’m not about to sniff you while you’re plugged in.”

Oh well, he mused.

The Boss was quiet as he followed where Ulfric had vanished off to. He didn’t greet the others in his party at least not verbally. He might have given them an ugly scowl because he didn’t have any coffee to wash it off with. He rubbed at his eyes, squinting at the still night sky. It was still night!? Fuck, I’m not awake enough for this. My balls are gonna fall off. When the group had finally gathered, Mr. President followed the departing party as they quickly and quietly marched to Markarth. He swiftly posted behind a boulder next to Ulfric and then finally looked to the rest of the group, noticing spear babe was gone.

The Boss blinked in disbelief and then asked, “Where’s Spear Babe?” He didn’t even remember her name. Was she late? His heart then jumped at the possible realization. “No…don’t fucking tell me. She went on that fucking side quest didn’t she?”

Boss didn’t have much time to get mad before Ulfric was urging the group on to execute Operation B&E. He looked to the rest of the party that was present and growled, “We’re gonna fucking talk about this later!”

It was his turn to take out the sentries as he had volunteered to do. Boss raced out from behind the boulder, keeping a low silhouette and used the rocky terrain as cover. His heart near ripped from his chest again when a loud shout sounded and something about a Sneak Level Up flashed before his eyes. What the fuck… he mused. His hand was resting on his heaving chest. He thought someone had noticed him or something. As he continued to move to the right of the fortress, hardly looking like a ninja or Special Forces soldier sporting his green Christmas sweater, he scaled up the side of the mountain. It was a little strange but by the way the graphics were cut. He could jump from each rock as though they were squares rather than perfectly round or smooth. Of course, I could only do this in a video game.

Boss front flipped off the last rock that would have him land on the battlement. He landed in a crouch—one hand posted before him to balance himself, and he gazed down the battlement at the deer furries carrying flaming torches. They were pacing the wall much like any guards he would expect in a video game. The only difference was unlike the medieval fantasy setting of the game, slung across their backs were blaster weapons.

“Time to make these bastards wish they hadn’t fucked with the United States,” Boss muttered to himself. Pushing forward off his hand, Boss broke into a sprint across the battlement. One of the Forsworn paused and turned around in time to see the Boss drop upon his side, slide across the ground, and thrust his feet into the shins of the deer man. The Forsworn soldier fell over on top of Boss. He caught the deer’s head between his bicep and forearm and slinging his hand across to his forearm to tighten the hold, Boss leaned back and applied enough pressure to the deer man’s neck to make him faint. When the guard went limp in his hold, Boss released him and extended his arm in the other patrolling deermen’s direction. Materializing in his grip was a purple, green, and orange tube-covered rifle. He fired a glowing yellow tennis ball like shot that flew toward the back of the Forsworn soldier’s head. The ball seemed to pass through the solder’s skull, bouncing straight into the next soldier in front of him. As both soldiers collapsed, Boss was on his feet continuing to sprint down the battlement in time to see the gatekeeper step out of one of the towers. He first glanced down stupidly at the two downed guards before unslinging his rifle. When he looked in the sprinting Boss’s direction, Boss through his rifle at the guard’s face and when the rifle bounced off, he jumped and kicked the rifle back at the guard’s face a second time. Landing, he followed up the stunt as the guard was struggling to catch his balance. Leaning his weight on his left leg, Boss raised his right leg and kicked out to strike the guard’s face with the sole of his foot. Bringing his leg swiftly back, he hopped in the air, switching legs to have his left foot shoot out to jab the guard in the throat and send his form slumping to the ground.

“Woo!” Boss exclaimed.

“Settle down there Bruce Lee,” said Kinzie.

“Did you record that shit? That was fucking bad ass. I'm a beast!”

“How about you focus on the mission, Boss? You need to signal to the others that you managed to secure the gate.”

“Yeah, yeah; shit can’t have any fun around here,” Boss grumbled. He glanced down to one of the torches and picked it up. Walking over to the battlement wall, he waved the torch around to signal Ulfric and the others that the gate was secured. All they had to do was take out the guards at the bottom and make their way inside. He was going to give them a minute to get into position before he started turning the wheel to raise the gate.
