[General Magecraft] Lyra is proficient in the the usual general foundations for a properly educated magus of the Clock Tower. As well as a great many deal of general applications of air magecraft and runes. However, her true expertise lies elsewhere.
[Personal Magecraft] Beast Regression Magecraft, also known as Atavism Magecraft, is a form of magecraft specialized in returning one to their natural state. On its basis, it can be used to Reinforce various parts of the body, or even the whole being, by acquiring characteristics latent in one's blood, it can allow half-breeds to recall the innate traits of their ancestors. However, the price for overusage is even steeper than that of usual magecraft. The closer one goes to their origin, and the longer they stay there, the harder it's to return. The benefits of this form of magecraft are undeniable, but the drawbacks are big enough to make most conventional magi shy away from ever attempting to bring that practice into their bloodline even if it would advance their grand work.
At her best state of regression, becoming a complete facsimile of a monstrous beast, Lyra is strong enough to smash through a thirty centimeters concrete wall with her bare hands (or claws in that case). However, she can't stay in this state for more than a few minutes without risking to lose her human mind forever. If it's a full moon night, her power output is amplified twicefold but the chances of going berserk and turning into a monster are also much higher.
[Sorcery Traits] Mana Erosion, the ability to disrupt magecraft and even forcibly shut off the magic circuits of individuals capable of hearing her howls. Since this ability comes from a monstrous beast's innate capability to reject magical energy, she can't make use of it unless she regresses back to the state of being a facsimile of one.
She also owns Mystic Eyes of Charm of a particularly high quality, bought at one of Rail Zeppelin's auctions.
[Mystic Codes] The powerful hammer that she uses would normally be a tool more appropriate for a militant member of the church than a magus, even most Enforcers prefer subtler methods to accomplish their goals. Its's a weapon forged out of cold iron, especially crafted to protect the last remainders of the werewolves against the threats of other supernatural beings. A heavy weapon that ejects the natural defenses of most types of elementals and magical beasts making its wielder's attack strike true against them. Naturally, it's useful for dealing with human threats as well, be them the church or other mages. When it's not being used it can be stored away as a charm, in a manner similar to the Church's black keys.
[Mystic Tools] ---
[Special Boon] Superior Servant. Lyra has the raw magical energy to sustain one of these.
[Personality] Lyra normally is a calm and taciturn person. She tends to not speak much but is always observant of her surroundings. In many ways, her personality resembles that guard dog or a wolf taken away from her pack. It's only natural, though since her inner beast is always in conflict with her human side. She's a wolf in human's clothing.
Naturally fond of isolation, she grew an eclectic taste for music and reading, even learning to play a few instruments though she rarely practices nowadays.
Because of her beastly side, she has no qualms with taking what she needs, whenever she needs it. Those who don't have the strength to protect their possessions don't deserve to own them. However, she isn't wasteful and all she speaks tends to be the utter truth. After all, unlike humans and elementals, beasts have no need for lies. In a way, this makes her the antithesis of a typical Clocktower magus. The kind of people who might as well be considered the apex of all of humanity's worst traits.
[Background] Lyra is the eldest child of the Schwarzen family. A well-established Northern European lineage of mages with blood ties to the ancient werewolves who once inhabited most of the continent. While they were originally a clan of runemasters and practitioners of traditional forms of witchcraft and elemental manipulation, those pursuits were set aside when one of their ancestors intermingled with monstrous beasts centuries ago. Their knowledge is still stored in their family's crest, but most of it hardly noteworthy. Especially when compared to their powerful beast magecraft.
As far as Lyra's personal history goes, she isn't that different from any child of other magi lineages. She was born and raised to succeed her father. After learning all their arts and crafts she was sent to the Clocktower for further education and has been studying there for the better part of the last half a decade. She hasn't gained that much of a reputation thanks to her ill-seen form of magecraft, but her potential is undeniable even to her fiercest nemesis. She reached the title of Pride at a relatively tender age, and with a few more years of training may be able to join the ranks of the Brand elite.
Given that Lyra is neck-deep on the Folklore Department, researching ancient curses and magical artifacts, the call of the Holy Grail War is a natural thing to her. Her expectations aren't only for victory but also the chance to research America's long history with half-breeds, hoping to find the key to unlock the next step in her family's Opus Magnum.
