If you can read that. Then as long as I have time. I'm happy to Roleplay with you. I'm okay with my French, but don't expect a Masters Thesis level of French from me.
So Magic is flexible? We're not talking just casting right? Like Harry Potter style?
Is Ritualism and Runic Magic on the table?
If I join, maybe When I join, I may already have an idea. And I just want to make sure well before hand if it might work.
What's your take on that?
Of course, Runic magic and Rituals are on the table. This is not necessarily limited to Norse/Celtic runes though, cultures all over the world are capable of casting their own Runic and Ritualistic magics of their own.
Also, infusing your own mana into say... a Modern Magical Weapon (think rifle but powered by Mana) is also possible, much more flexibility too.
@Kumbaris The magic system is interesting. Kind of reminds me of the system used in the Dresden files. I like it. Curious to see how it'll be used in the story.
Actually, the way the OMR is set up with the deities kind of strikes me as a cross between the Dresden File's accords and the SCP Foundation.
Would things like faith and custom have any impacts on magic use?
It can impact style, but not effectiveness, that's purely skill based.
This looks like it has a lot of potentials. I have a few questions though. How will the magic work? What's the current level of technology inside, and outside the OMR? How do different races within the world work? It said there were pantheons, so are the deities, deities in the conventional sense where each represents or guards over various aspects, or are they just another race?
1) Magic works very flexibly. It seriously depends on how much time and experience you have with magic. I don't want to add it in since I fear it might overwhelm people with info. But here's a snippet.
‘Magic’ is a term to describe the various abilities inside everyone to alter the Real World using forces beyond the Laws of Physics for some purpose. Everyone has some magic reserves but some, through training, their environment, and modifications, do have more magic reserves than others.
The Magic System in this world is also really simple, with the general concept of thinking of something and using your appendages, be they hands or feet, to enact some unnatural change into the world. The system has its limits, even incredibly old deities with eons of experience cannot destroy a major city, the burden of changing reality to such an extent can kill people if attempted.
New users of magic typically have to chant in order to cast magic spells. But veteran magic users can literally just think and the change could be enacted just like that. Some magic users utilize conduits such as staffs, wands, and even more modern magical weapons, while some magic users just use their bare hands.
It is an incredibly flexible system, so do what you want within your limitations.
2) Current level of technology inside the OMR is slightly all over the place. On one hand, FTL spaceships that defeated an Eldritch Abomination, so of course their offices and mages can utilize the most advanced of technologies, but for the wider world, the Org is currently facilitating a slow but steady transfer of technology to the whole wide world, so think of a world slightly more than advanced in our current timeline, but in 1995. They have the tech but don't know how to use it, so no smartphones, but fast and reliable internet is becoming a thing all across the developed western world at least.
3) The races, traits and skills wise, vary wildly. No species is 'smarter' or 'dumber' than anyone else (but you will find racist rhetoric somewhere), but, using Humans as a baseline, Elves in general are more in tune with magic, Dwarves are more stocky but less flexible in terms of reach, Orcs are stronger (and in some cases also more in tune with magic), and Dragons and Deities tend to be significantly better than everyone else, with the added caveat that deities can't really die.
The last part isn't really a big issue, since most deities are OMR registered and work there, and the vast majority of them aren't malevolent. But should there be an issue, a nation like France/UK can 'kill' deities with effort without using Nuclear Weapons.
4) There are 3 types of Deities, Deities that are spawned from legend (Cu Chulainn, Thor, Sun Wukong), Deities that are spawned through acts of significance (Joan of Arc, Heracles, Nitocris), and deities that are spawned from concepts (Marianne of France, Columbia, The Grim Reaper). Deities can spawn from one or a combination of all three. They can also be of any species, a famous Orc War hero that got deified, a legend in Elven society that gained personification, etc etc etc. And Deities cannot 'die' in the conventional sense, the only way to kill a deity is either the deity wishes to not live anymore, or the deity is forgotten.
The OMR is created in part to regulate Deities, since Deities are incredibly powerful and very old individuals, over 90% of them joined the OMR in some capacity since they're literally too powerful to ignore, nowadays, deities literally act as some form of 'ultimate enforcer' for the OMR, a lobbyist for OMR interests in the various national governments (you don't get to live that long and not make connections with someone in government), or just taking a 50 year long retirement before coming back into the game.
"The biggest conceit of our time is the thought that nothing we do matters, all our efforts, all our blood, sweat and tears are only for nothing. That couldn't be further from the truth, your presence here is a testament to the will and resilience of Earth. We in the Organization of Magical Regulation stands defiant, for we have given Earth a chance, a chance to live life free from the fear of destruction, this corpse of the Abomination from space is testament to Earth's will." -Joan of Arc, 3 days after The Shattering.
Short Lore
In the year 1600. Various Mages, Great Seers, Wizards and Witches around the world received a message of the apocalypse. It was a message coming deep from the stars, a great Abomination was on it's way to destroy earth and harvest the souls of everyone that lives here. At first, chaos erupted, but as the various kingdoms of the world put down the chaos. A form of 'collective resolution' was agreed upon.
Earth will not fall, and everyone here will live.
Obviously, progress was slow, and significantly hampered by the political machinations of the times, but, by the end of World War 2, advances in technology has allowed the victorious powers to actually address the issue. Firstly, the Office of Magical Regulation, or the OMR was formed. Primarily an American organization, but rapidly encompassing the entire world (Including the Soviet Union and it's satellite states), this Organization, with the support of practically every pantheon the world over. Quickly went to work in order to provide some semblance of order after the second world war destroyed the previous magical status quo.
What is less well known, at least until recently, was that the OMR was tasked with finding a way to fight the Abomination and win. This is by far a much more important task, and one that the Office, along with studious amounts of investment from both the US and the USSR, had a chance on. A slim chance, but a chance nonetheless.
And by 1989, A fleet of OMR spaceships, filled to the brim with the latest advances in magic, ballistics, computer science, and FTL technology, sallied forth, and defeated the abomination just as it entered Earth's moon. It was a massive battle, with Humans, Orcs, Dwarves, Elves, Dragons and Deities dying in droves. But they succeeded, their efforts were not in vain, and the semi-shattered moon provided an adequate name for the event, 'The Shattering'.
It has been 7 years since the end of The Shattering, the year is 1995, and although certain doom was prevented, not all is well on Earth.
Recent intelligence reports have shown that large shipments of weapons have entered Germany, be they Magical or Conventional, and the OMR are worried that there is a growing terrorist group growing in Germany’s underground. The collapse of the Eastern Bloc has led to a surge of illegal weapons, both magical and conventional, to flood Europe, leading to a rise in crime all across the continent. This rise is a risk that the Organization has to stop.
And Headquarters has decided to send you to solve the problem. Whoever you are.
Welcome to The Hunt. A Smorgasbord RP set in a world that has avoided calamity. A calamity of Nuclear Weapons and a Calamity by a literal Eldritch Being, I plan this RP to start and finish with the investigation, but, should there be continued interest after the initial premise. I am open towards continuing the RP with a new storyline.
You can play as one of the five species that inhabit this Earth. A Human, Elf, Orc, Dwarf, Dragon, and Deity. Although for the latter two, I recommend that you find some justification in your character sheets, this looks like a comparatively small case for a Deity or a Dragon to interfere.
The Office of Magical Regulation
"I don't know how we defeated that Abomination, but it sure as hell wouldn't be possible without all your hard work, so I thank you, all of you, from the lowliest clerks to the highest council members." - OMR Director Eve, thanking everyone after The Shattering.
One and Two Liberty Place, Philadelphia. Current headquarters for the OMR
The OMR was formed in 1948 by the United States, Canada and Mexico. Primarily meant as an Organization to replace the magical structures of the Old Magical Circles, but soon rapidly came to encompass the whole world as more and more pantheons and national governments joined. This organization's official duty is simple, to provide some form of regulation and enforcement of said regulation on a transnational level. Think Interpol, but for magical affairs, and with more teeth.
It soon quickly evolved into an organization beyond it's official duties, especially after former War Criminal Deities in both Germany and Japan joined after their release from prison. In the 1950s, another task, to find a way to defeat the Celestial Abomination hellbent on Earth's destruction, was added, albeit in secret. Both the deities of the world and the various national governments agreed in unison on this goal, the OMR, above everything else, was the only transnational organization with the influence, reach, and technological prowess to form a coherent response to the threat.
As a result, after The Shattering. It is the only organization with Combat Spaceships on Earth, it's duties now encompassing from economic assistance, magical crimes investigation, and a sort of UN Peacekeeping Force but more geared towards Magical Affairs. In short, the World Bank, Interpol, and the UN all rolled into one. You can find OMR offices in areas as remote as the Amazons, where agents facilitate economic assistance for Amazonian tribes, and OMR offices in the centre of New York City, where their agents solve Magical Crimes on a daily basis.
It is a huge organization, and it has chosen you for this particular task in Germany. Let's hope you do well, gaining favor with such a powerful organization is almost always a boon.
Some Expectations
Expect a bit of Insanity: This is a setting where gods, ranging from Zeus, Joan of Arc, Satan, the Biblical Adam and Eve, Amaterasu, and Kali are walking amongst humans in 1995. This is a setting where Dragons usually fly along Commercial jets, or take human form and book Business Class because flying inter-Atlantic alone is boring and a bit tedious. It's Earth, but not necessarily the Earth you are intimately familiar with.
Casual, but not super casual: I don't expect much, but I expect some form of effort to be put when you're making your posts, make those initial two paragraphs of some value to the character you're making and you should be fine.
Coordination via Discord: I prefer a service where I can communicate with other players and receive instant feedback, it allows the RP to flow seamlessly and not feel too janky.
Some notes on anyone interested playing a Deity/Dragon: Just note that a vast majority of Deities, more than 90% of them, are registered as an OMR agent, roughly 76% for dragons as well. They are powerful beings, and while being an OMR agent isn't their full time job (for some anyways), if you are planning on playing characters like the two mentioned, coordinate with me so that it doesn't get too janky.
Akane nodded at Josephine's response. "Good, you felt like a communicator, your looks and mannerisms indicate that. I just felt the need to be polite an ask for your confirmation."
Before she felt the need to introduce herself however. She noticed a group of three woman crossing into the gate, seemingly oblivious to the presence of the duo, this perplexed and intrigues her, did they see them? Or was there something else at play? Akane's face when she sees the group waltz into the wall indicated curiosity. "Could it be that there is a dimensional aspect to this realm?" She silently muttered to herself. No matter, the moment Josephine walked in, Akane quickly followed suit. Not wanting to get left behind just like that.
And surely enough, the scenery in front of her astounded the woman. Quite unlike anything she has ever seen, a veritable paradise really, judging from all the greenery and brilliant, but admittedly dated architecture. In a sense, it juxtaposed her own experiences of living in Japan, Japan was a land where old traditions is slowly giving way to modern sentiments, but nonetheless finding a way to cling on to it in quite unique ways, it can be seen in the temples flanked by huge skyscrapers, the people taking selfies at ancient shrines, and the fast trains blitzing across an otherwise serene countryside.
This Sky Palace though, seems like a place where tradition reigned supreme. She could see Greek, Celtic, Norse, and Japanese architecture all merging into a weird mix of cultures, but nonetheless maintaining it's age old appearance. It feels like one of the many Isekai manga worlds she frequently read about. Some areas of the world felt Japanese, some felt Western, but all of them looked medieval. And this is exactly what the Sky Palace looked like.
"A most interesting mix, wouldn't you say?" She inquired to the Communicator she just met recently. "I feel more like in a set for some High Fantasy novel than any place in the real world. Oh, where are my manners."
Quickly catching up to Josephine. Akane bowed and smiled afterwards. "Greetings, I am Akane Mitsui, I hail from Japan, and currently bearing the responsibility of being a Communicator to Inari Okami. What about yourself?"
Marinette stands ready, her Red Spear in hand while the Red Woman only eyed her in curiosity, she only shook her head, she knows that her instincts will save her one day, but this isn't it. Still, in an effort to calm her down, she started elaborating on the place the trio just walked into.
"Well, I guess some formalities are in order, but welcome Marinette, to the Sky Palace. The residence of the gods and probably the only place where we have our full powers on demand, the outside world is kinda dead to us power wise. Oh, do not mention this, but the Japanese section of the Sky Palace has the worst food, the Egyptian and Greek section has genuinely good cooks in their repertoire. Just an FYI.
"Hmmm. Are you sure about that? I never tasted a lot of Japanese food back home, but the restaurants I've been to tasted rather nice."
"No, it's actually not that, I know the Japanese can cook good food. But it's just... the Shinto deities are really lazy, let's just say that."
"Hmm. Alright, I guess I will take your word for it, but I will have to taste the food by myself first."
The woman only shrugged, not wanting to fight her Communicator. "Alright, oh, and I'm going to go for now. I'll see you once you're accustomed to this place, ok?"
Several Minutes ago The walk through the barrier felt incredibly unusual even for the seasoned soldier. The sudden transition from the sudden cold into such a temperate climate felt as if she has been teleported into another world or something. The buildings of the Sky Palace jut out like spires into the sky, domes in a brilliant green, birds of all shapes and sizes fly around the Sky Palace, adding to the serenity of the palace, and the various doors and gates that line up indicated which deific pantheon resides in where. The wooden door with the Celtic runes call for her, it felt very tempting...
Alas, she was a highly trained soldier, so her instincts when encountering unknowns kicked in. "Fianna, Gwen. Form up, sure, the situation might be tempting, but I don't think that we should lower our guard."
Marinette unclothed herself from the thick winter climbing gear and readied whatever weapons she could bring for her journey here. Her climbing axe was one, and the Red Spear was the only other weapon she could use. God, what she would do to get her trusty Famas Rifle on her hands right now. "Alors, Fianna, do you have weapons on hand? I can lend you my Axe if you don't have one. Gwen, what about you?"
This is my second time in America, and probably the first time I've ever been to the New England region. Living in Virginia for so long and interacting with people who knows the government does warp your perception of America somewhat. I am used to having the perception of Americans being an incredibly intelligent people, government officials meeting and discussing national strategies, congressmen and women (I interned at a Congressman's office) meeting and discussing pertinent laws in Capitol Hill, and of course, college educated employees of both the Public and Private sectors meeting and talking about all sorts of things. World events, some local happenings, even personal stuff since they are all close to each other.
It feels like one, big, not entirely happy but still functional family of professors.
And New Hampshire isn't exactly that.
It's quite the opposite really, the people are more simple, their outlook on life more geared towards what they should do that could make them happy and that's it. Not the most educated people in the world. But a hardy one, it has been an interesting experience for me seeing such a drastic change in America.
There are also the Bostonians, very rude people, wouldn't recommend them. But other than that it has been an interesting shift, I get to see the nature of the American Northeast in detail, and the amount of trees present fascinates me. Well, I'm no longer in the woods anymore, I'm more like in the Snow Capped mountains, climbing the summit at Inari's request. A very weird request, but nothing too difficult. The Fox Fire orbs circling around me provided a non insignificant amount of warmth my body dearly needed, and the various climbing gear I just bought has helped me somewhat, but I am no expert mountain climber and the trek isn't getting easier.
Then, as if all of a sudden, I encountered a wall of white, nearly blinding me, what greeted my eyes next was a massive gate in front of me and another woman. She seemed like a White American, and looks just as confused as myself.
"Mmm, excuse me?" I asked. "Are you a communicator?"
Marinette summoned her spear. A red object made out of pure metal and proceeded to scout the route slightly ahead. It appears that it is relatively clear, she doesn't see any harpies around that could interfere with the journey.
She also noticed that, just trekking a short while longer. The wind completely stops and Marinette can see a gate. So this is why Scathach is adamant on her walking here. Is this the place where the gods reside? Marinette couldn't wait any longer and hurried back to where Fianna and the Chinese girl was.
She eventually turned around, seeing Fianna noticing the rip out of the Chinese woman's shirt. This shouldn't be a massive issue, but one can never be too sure if the Climate is this harsh. A single mistake can ruin your entire day, she learned that in the military so many, many times.
"I can help you tie that up. It doesn't look like it's visibly bleeding, and right now the priority is to get out of this cold. I just trekked a little bit and saw that there's a gate just a short walk away. We'll get to the gate and then we can properly treat any wounds you have."
"Ça va?" She asked. "C'mon, it's only a short trek and everything will be okay."
@Hitman@Angel Of Red Hey, can we wrap up this little arc? I mean, all three of us are already at the gates of the palace. Might as well take the jump and shift the story to there.
Known as the Kami of Fertility, Foxes, Prosperity, Rice and Sake. Inari is commonly seen as a Fox creature commonly guarding the many shrines of Shinto Temples all across Japan. A generally popular figure due to the Kami's multiple aspects. Inari Okami is a very flexible deity, it's many aspects allow it to be a part of practically all important sectors of Japanese life. Originally shrined at Inari Mountain, nowadays, as long as you can see Fox Statues in the many, many shinto shrines and Temples across Japan, you are in the presence of a temple/shrine dedicated for Inari Okami.
Commonly depicted as a female, there are also several depictions of the Kami as a man.
[ APPEARANCE ]
[ PHYSIQUE ]
A lithe woman. Akane generally does light workouts to keep her body in shape. She is thin, with not a lot of muscle mass all throughout her body, still, she can do most chores around the house should it be necessary. Generally regarded as 'beautiful' in terms of Japanese beauty standards. Akane has the perfect combination of thinness and curviness that makes her the target of quite a lot of love letters during her highschool days.
She has long black hair, easily flowing down her shoulders, the most noticeable part of it all though, is the cut of her bangs. Seemingly making a part of her hair edge out, a subtle, yet noticeable stylistic detail she has decidedly chosen.
Perhaps it is because of her Japanese upbringing, but she generally chooses 'conservative' yet clearly rebellious clothes. Conservative in the sense that it covers her body, but rebellious in the subtle details. The length of her skirt, the colours of her clothes, the various accessories she puts in her hair, even the occasional earring that glistens out whenever she flips her hair. A way to simultaneously conform, yet rebel at the same time.
[ HEIGHT / WEIGHT ] 176 Centimeters/ 73 Kg
[ PERSONALITY ]
Akane acts prim and proper at all times. An expectation considering her family name and the impact her family has on the trajectory of Japan. Nonetheless, within her circle of friends and family, the woman generally devolves into something much more energetic, not one to conform to borderline aristocratic norms within Japanese high society. Whenever she hangs out with her friends, whether that be enjoying some coffee or eating out, or vacationing with her family, a much more relaxed, carefree Akane comes out.
For the outside person though, seeing such a change is usually a luxury they do not have. Her actions all the time is calculated to be the most polite and least expressive, she is not one to show her more 'wild' side so liberally. For she knows the ramifications of such carelessness can do to her family back home.
[ LIKES / DISLIKES ]
Likes: 1) Watching movies 2) Hanging out with her Friends and Family 3) Reading Light Novels and Manga 4) Travelling outside her country 5) Watching Anime 6) American Food
Dislikes: 1) Bigots 2) Poverty (Note: She doesn't hate poor people, she just dislikes poor living conditions, doesn't necessarily blame the poor person for it) 3) Brash/ Rude peoples 4) Japanese Ultranationalists 5) Bad Public Transportation
[ BIOGRAPHY ]
[ Place of Origin ] Tokyo, Japan
[ BIO ]
Since the day of her birth, Akane has never felt poverty. Her full name, Akane Mitsui, is already a signal to everyone that she is effectively the daughter of Japan's modern Aristocracy. The Mitsui Family.
Historically speaking, the Mitsuis are titans of industry, a family that owns and runs the Mitsui Zaibatsu, one of the largest corporate groups in Japan. Their business includes Automobile Manufacturing, Electronics, Industrial Chemicals and Financial Services. One of the 'Big Four' including Sumitomo, Yasuda, and Mitsubishi. These four massive Conglomerates control all major aspects of Japanese industry, up until Japan's defeat in the hands of the allied forces.
With Japan's defeat, the powerful families were forced to retire their holdings and were left as private, if admittedly incredibly rich citizens of the postwar Japanese state. And the Mitsuis were no exception. Akane grew up in Azabu. Possibly the richest neighborhood in all of Tokyo, her entire childhood life were as ideal as it can be, and, unlike the stereotype of rich kids. She doesn't grow up to be a spoiled brat, perhaps it is because of her family's history and how much effort it took them to maintain their wealth, and perhaps it's because she sees just how hard working her own two parents are. But she studied hard in school, garnering good grades and with the help of private tutors, fully mastering English during her grade school days. Not a common achievement for the typical Japanese student.
It was then that her first lesson in life was taught, during her first years in Middle School, when hormones are raging throughout her body and she struggles to deal with the ever increasing complexity of life. That her parents gave her talks that would change her life. Her parents taught her to not take everything too seriously, life is an ever-flowing river, and if the streams change, one should adapt oneself to it. Letting things go sometimes to rest is an important aspect, and one that her mother has to constantly remind her father whenever he comes back to work. Akane took the lesson to heart, and her first years in Middle School were the years when she made some of her first lifelong friends.
The second lesson she was taught was when she just graduated High school. She applied to numerous prestigious Universities in Japan, the University of Tokyo was an obvious one, Kyushu University was another, Kyoto U, Keio, and Waseda were all applied to. And yet, bizarrely enough, she was rejected from all of them. Only her craziest and most out there option, her application to William & Mary, a college even her parents didn't know existed, was accepted. Seeing no other option, she packed her bags and headed for America to get her degree in Commerce. It was then that Akane learned that the world has more opportunities than she could've realized. Studying at William and Mary and Networking with the business communities there exposed her to cultures that she didn't know in depth, she met people originating from Indonesia, Iran, Canada, Brazil, China, even that weird Guy from Poland. The meeting of various cultures during her time there imprinted something important to her, a perspective she couldn't have gotten from studying in even Elite Japanese Universities.
In a sense, a real eye for business, a thorough comprehension of various cultures around the world, and an understanding of how good businesses should be run. In short, she has the makings of a good businesswoman should she start her own company.
She also learned to downsize her order of food whenever she visits an American Restaurant, not as well known, but still important if she wants to keep her weight in check.
She returned back to Japan with her Bachelors Degree on Commerce, much to the elation of her parents. And it was then that, during her many nights sleeping. That she was visited by a Fox like apparition. It has a female voice, and it offers Akane a further sharpening of her skills, promising to give 'All knowledge in the world of commerce to you', and the only price? Become her Communicator.
She asks if being a Communicator is akin to signing a contract with the devil, a twisted agreement in which she is the one left holding the short end of the stick, the apparition said no, she asked if being a Communictor means that she has to forego her old life completely, the Fox Spirit also said no, but there will be some changes. Most notably in her travels.
She accepted, and the Fox Spirit smiled, 'Meet me at the top of Inari Shrine, take the Shinkansen the next thing tomorrow.' She left her parents later in the morning, telling them that she has 'some stuff to do in Kyoto, it concerns my College Friends.' And surprisingly enough her parents agreed.
She went to the Fushimi Inari Shrine, and after offering her money, and doing the typical Shinto Rituals associated with it. She sees a Woman, clearly Japanese, but with unusual White Hair and Red Stripes all over her body. The woman smiled at her, and passed through her body. Akane felt a surge of power, feeling her strength multiply many fold. She returned back to her Family's house after that. Not wanting to see what kind of other supernatural powers might take an interest in her.
3 months have passed, and the Fox Spirit has instructed her to go to New Hampshire, to climb a mountain and meet her there. She then declared to her parents that she wanted to spend a year to 'discover myself', with the added caveat that she will go to America during that period. Considering that she's a Mitsui, and that Mitsuis aren't really known to be tight on cash. Her parents accepted.
Akane is probably going to be tied down to her well paid job/ business in the future anyway, her parents reasoned. What's the harm in letting her discover the wide world when she is young?
[ Reason of Choice ] It may not look like it. But her education and her networking, as well as her Familial Status in Japan makes her a Prime Candidate for a person that can generate a lot of money and wealth. Her morals and upstanding personality also intrigued Inari, a well connected woman that can generate a lot of prosperity (read: money) while also not being an asshole (really important considering Japan's history) is a Slam Dunk for all Inari is concerned.
[ POWERS ]
[ RELICS / FAMILIARS ] A Jade Magatama: An ancient Japanese Jewel made out of Jade. Akane got it after she slept through her first night of becoming a Communicator. The jewel, upon activation, is able to form a protective bubble around Akane, a golden coloured bulb that is impervious to any form of attack.
A Naginata: Said to have been from one of Inari's previous Communicators. A package from an unknown sender gave the Naginata to her family's house. Initially confused but nonetheless keeping it well stored, Akane is able to summon the Naginata at will, appearing as if it was teleported to her hand. She is able to wield it as if she has been training with the weapon for years.
A Fox: A White Furred Fox that always accompanies her whenever she goes, seemingly able to accompany her throughout all places, when she took the Shinkansen back to Tokyo, the White Fox was there, when she's about to board the plane, the Fox was staring from the Terminal. And when she landed in America, the Fox was there to greet her at the Taxi Stand. The Fox will defend Akane if she is in danger, it is unknown as to how powerful this Fox is.
[ POWERS ] Long Claws: She is still trying to master it, but Akane can lengthen her nails to such a point that it becomes claws. When the nails are lengthened. It is hardened to be near indestructible and she is able to slice through almost anything she wishes.
Fox Like biology: If her human senses aren't enough. Akane can also make 2 parts of her senses to be as sensitive as Foxes, whether it be her eyesight, her hearing, her sense of smell, touch or taste. It can, theoretically speaking. Be expanded to all the 5 senses, but Akane isn't able to fully 'Foxify' herself so to say.
Fox Fire: A Blue Fire Orb that Akane can summon, it generally floats right besides her, she can throw it and cause a huge explosion, or it can be simply used as Illumination. A generally versatile spell that can be used for all circumstances.
[ INVOCATION ] Summoning Inari is a bit complicated than most. Akane has to throw a coin to the ground, and clap twice before praying. Should it be successful though...
Her signature Fox Ears doesn't show up, Akane's form is not powerful enough yet to do that. But the Fox Mask and the Miko outfit is more than enough of an indication that Inari is here.
[ OTHER INTERESTS/SKILLS ] American Food: Perhaps it's because of her time spent in America, but Akane has grown to love all types of American Food. Steak and Eggs, Eggs Benedict, Alder Plank Salmon, a Good Burger, Fish and Chicken Tacos. She loves them all, in many ways seeing her love of both American and Japanese food is a contradiction, but it doesn't bother her in the slightest.
Research into Business Subjects: Of course, being an Academically trained student with a Business Degree. She has to do her fair share of research. Whether it concerns Accounting, Business Leadership, or just listening into a 2 hour youtube video of various Businessmen talking strategy. She likes finding new ways and opportunities to make money.
Philanthropism and Political Advocacy: She's Japanese, she's a Mitsui, she's incredibly well educated, and she knows how her family's complicit in furthering the suffering of various peoples in Asia during Japan's conquest. It isn't surprising that she also loves discussing Politics and has an interest in Philanthropy as well. An ardent supporter of Japan apologizing for it's warcrimes and dismantling the Yasukuni Shrine to ensure that the apology isn't hollow. She's not a big fan of any Right Wing Japanese groups in general.
[ MISC ]
[ Birthday ] 25 November/ The Rabbit
[ FAVORITES / LEAST FAVORITES ] Favorite Food: Chilaquiles. She stumbled into a Mexican restaurant during her time studying at William & Mary, and the moment she tasted Chilaquiles, she fell in love with it. Favorite Book: Being someone that grew up in the 2010s, and being Japanese. She loves Isekai Light Novels. Most Notably That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime and The Rising of the Shield Hero. Favorite Music: Any contemporary Japanese Song. Songs made by Sayuri are among her personal favorites.
