If you can read that. Then as long as I have time. I'm happy to Roleplay with you. I'm okay with my French, but don't expect a Masters Thesis level of French from me.

I'm also cool with Roleplaying in English though!

The Explorator was ready. Months of checks and rechecks, followed by even further checks to ensure things go smoothly for this bout of Exploration has been conducted, and the Captain, confident in the ship and her crew's abilities to ensure nothing goes wrong, is preparing her ship for launch.

This is their fifth exploration ever since Almira was assigned the Thucydides as her Explorator. A ship that she has grown quite attached, and very familiar towards. Resting comfortably in the ship's bridge. She greeted all the crew and without missing a beat. Brought out a tablet and started doing final checks.

"Artificial Gravity?"

"Check"

"Engines?"

"Check"

"Supplies?"

"Botanicals Check, Fridge Check."

"FTL?"

"...Check"

She noticed the sudden hesitation from the crew-member, not a person that would shrug off even the smallest of details. She looked at the person, and opened her mouth once more.

"Can you check with the FTL Engineer that the FTL is working?"

"Yes ma'am."

It took a solid 10 minutes, but the crew finally managed to confirm that the FTL is indeed working. Sighing, and finally able to rest easy. The rest of the checklist process took off without a hitch. Just a veritable series of utterances and checks from herself and the various crew-members in the Ship's bridge.

"Alright then, helmsman, prepare to take this ship off of dock and let's get to it!"

The Explorator, a veritable space elephant compared to the small outer colony space dock, de-clamps it's docking gears and started moving out of the Space dock. It's maneuvering thrusters working in full capacity to ensure that the ship didn't collide with any of the traders that are busy docking and undocking in the port. This is perhaps the last known port of call for the Thucydides, anything after this is veritable wild space, uncharted territory for the Commonwealth of Humanity.

And her crew is ready, she has been extensively briefing them for months at this point. Just like any expedition, nothing is being left to chance as far as Almira's concerned. It is a taxing job, but the 2 years of vacation time after every expedition is more than worth it for her, and anyone's concerned at this point.

"Alright then, set course to the solar system and punch when ready." She ordered the Helmsman, and within a few seconds. The blank darkness filled with circles of light evolved into a flurry of moving lights, all of them whizzing past the Thucydides.

Almira decided that since the journey to the star system would take a couple of days, that she would take some time off for now and monitor the rest of the ship, do some normal captain duties for a while during the ship's travels. She visited the mess hall, sleeping bunks, the botanical gardens, and several other rooms where the ship's various weaponry were being stored.

She was busy walking back to the bridge when it happened. She heard a loud boom, very unnatural and very much bad news for an experienced Captain such as her, hurrying back to the ship. She saw veritable chaos as the ship's speed slowly returned back to it's normal, pre-FTL velocity and the crew-members were scrambling to get things back in order.

"What happened?" Almira asked. Her tone calm and collected, but not hiding her concern.

"Subsystems are down ma'am. The ship's unstable, we are going to impact that planet in roughly 10 minutes!"

"Use those maneuvering thrusters NOW!!! MOVE!!" She screamed, immediately jamming her finger into a big red button on her Captain's chair, signaling an immediate emergency and for all crew to get into their quarters immediately.

Unfortunately, it was of no use. The ship's already set on a course to hit the planet, and all she can do is to make sure the ship lands in a relatively secure area.

Much to her discomfort, the area where they are landing seems to be somewhere around a mountain range, adding even more complexity into an already complex situation. She did manage to find a plateau, and the ship was then able to land, impacting the snow covered dirt in a very violent crash.

It took a couple of minutes for everything to settle down, the fires to be put out, and the ship put into some functional order. But as the reports from the various sections of the ships fill in. Almira's face soured.

Maneuvering thrusters shot through hell, FTL drive damaged and need extensive repairs, botanical gardens trashed but still recoverable, 30 crew-people were injured and being treated, life support systems shot and needing extensive repairs as well, and the exterior of the ship badly beaten up, with a high probability of unstable atmospheric flight characteristics should she try and fly the Thucydides once again.

The two good things in the report was that no-one was dead, some form of miracle if she were to see one, and the weapon systems of the ship are still fully functional, missile launchers, lasers, and railguns alike.

"Crap. You there!" She mentioned a crew member. "Contact the head of ship security, I need a perimeter set around the ship and with guards posted 24/7, I don't care how long it'll take to repair this ship, but we will guard this damn thing until we can send a distress signal and a Commonwealth task force is sent."

She is fortunate that the atmospheric reports from the ship's many, many sensors indicate a breathable atmosphere, but she has no idea where in the world her ship landed, and what sorts of dangers this planet may possess. Her crew didn't even have enough time to conduct a full scale survey of the planet. So she didn't even know what the topography and world map of this planet looks like.

In short, a situation where everything did go wrong, did. No matter, her first priority is to ensure the safety of her crew, create a safe zone around the Thucydides, and then...

One at a time Almira, one at a time.

Posters with similar meaning were posted in all major cities in Friestan the moment that meteor was sighted, a shock for most mages and sages since nobody expected a sudden meteor strike to occur, but once the chaos subsided, the various kings and queens of the realms of Friestan knew what had to be done.

Considering that this is the Dragonspine Mountains, people who spoke Draconic was also needed, a necessity considering the sheer amount of Dragons that inhabit the mountain range.

But, as with all things involving the lesser species, sufficient determination and effort does yield results eventually, and a group of adventurers, hailing from different parts of the world. Was summoned and will depart from the city of Cendana in Pataliputra. Who these adventurers are, and whether or not they will travel as a group or separately, we will see as a certain Ksatria Naga waits in this inland city. A hub for the Tropical Wood Trade and the largest inland city in Pataliputra.

@Sedjwick You can make a Discord account, it's not a hard thing to do.

We will do most of the RP discussion and coordination on Discord, so I highly recommend that you make an account. We can also discuss about character ideas. I can even give you pointers if you want.

With the fight over. Amanda was busy trying to get a handle of the situation, as one of the few senior agents available on the site the moment reinforcements have come in, she has seniority, and she uses that seniority of hers to coordinate and look over the evidence being brought into the OMR black vans. She saw a bunch of Computers, taking pictures of several ones that interests her, several documents and logs, highly interested, but she can research about them tomorrow or something, and of course, the weapons used as traps.

She almost forgot that the Canadian Shaman was calling her, and turned her head around after being super busy ordering agents around and organizing the chaos.

"Yeah! Wait a minute wait a minute." She pleaded, giving some last minute orders towards an Orc and a Dwarven agent to search for any abnormal mana surges in the area, before she quickly arrived to Micheal's location. "Yeah, I think that we're done for the day. I'm busy trying to clean up some stuff here, but we can go back to the Office, Debrief, and then I wanna go out to town and see the sights."

She then proceeded to saunder to where Morgana and Xaviron was. "Hey, after we debrief, you wanna join me in seeing the sights of Frankfurt? I heard that they have some real old museums, restaurants and what-have-yous around here. I think It's gonna be fun! So what'd you say?"

@13org

The demonic female nodded and outstretched both of her hands towards Faye. She muttered some stuff in a language Faye doesn't understand, and a burst of mana emanated from her hands towards Faye's torso.

Madeleine proceeded to move her hand, Faye physically feeling how the chaotic mana moves throughout her body, seemingly following Madeleine's hand movements. It flows out of her torso, towards her waist, before entering her legs and seemingly. Poof! out into thin air as the mana pools up around her feet and somehow escaping.

"The edges of the human body, like the fingers in your hands and feet, are excellent release points for magic." Madeleine explained, doing the ritual again as Faye felt her body's mana move along with Madeleine's rituals. "I sense that your mana flow is incredibly chaotic, a definite result from the battle with the Eldritch thing over there. Tell me, what were your experiences during that event in 1989? I think you know what I'm talking about."

"I was on Earth when that thing arrived. Part of the 'reserve force' in case something went wrong in the engagement. Even from that far away, I can sense the feeling of dread looming over my entire soul when that thing crashed on the moon. I've never felt that sense of dread in my entire existence, part of being a Demon and all that, but that... THING'S presence felt like an abberation. An abnormality in reality itself."

"I still don't understand how the gods managed to defeat that thing, the mental toll on their psyche must be immense from that battle. I think I've heard Siegfried himself saying that most deities are right now in therapy with each other. He visited the Frankfurt office once, and I overheard his discussions with the Office's director about Mental Health."

She chuckled a little bit. "Deities and Mental Health, who would've thought, right?"
@Theyra@Brother@Sedjwick

Just checking in, but are you still interested in the RP? The Discord server's already out and we can talk about characters and other stuff there.

It was supposed to be a routine mission. The crew of the Explorator Thucydides was setting off on their fifth exploration journey into the unexplored regions of the Milky Way Galaxy. The Captain, a veteran and possibly the oldest person alive in the crew, was last seen triple checking the proposed coordinates for the Spaceship's exploration. All seemed well.

And yet, by some anonymous grand design, the FTL drive malfunctioned during the journey, the Captain is flustered and confused, the ship was forced out of FTL, and the damages from the sudden deceleration forced the Spaceship on a crash course into the planet of Friestan.

They can rest easy that this ship is an Explorator, primarily meant for Scientific Exploration, but packing an arsenal sufficient to save itself should combat comes to them.

The Kingdoms of Friestan was a motley bunch, from the far east, to the southern coasts and the western highlands. The world of Friestan was forged and built by magic, magic runs through everyone in this world, from the smallest rat to the largest of dragons.

And in the 10000 years of recorded history of Friestan, many great species have wielded magic to incredible effect. From the god and goddess Friesda and Tanna who made this world and left, the now extinct Titans that supposedly sculpted the three continents, giving life to all manner of plants and animals, to the dragons that killed the Titans and reigned the world for over 3000 years, and now to the rise and domination of the 'lesser species'. The Humans, Elves, Orcs, Dwarves, and all manner of intelligent, small creatures. It is a dynamic world, a world of many kingdoms, a world of mages, and knights, and adventure plenty.

And it is a world that is about to change significantly, with the sudden appearance of a bright meteor across all of Friestan's skies. From sleeping dragons to observant mages and seers, everyone saw the sudden meteor. Crashing into the Dragon infested Dragonspine mountainrange, illuminating the dark sky in the local area before it's bright lights died off.

Everyone was interested, and everyone wanted to investigate the sudden appearance of the meteor. As Mages and Seers worldwide debated among themselves. Kings and Queens actively recruited adventurers for an unenviable task.

Investigate the crash within the Dragonspine Range, and report back to them of any useful information.

In the shadows however, the Dark Lord plots, this literal meteoric arrival might be the final piece in his puzzle to finally bring the world into his domination. Centuries of planning is now complete, but he has to send his agents to finish the job.

The Dark Lord has grand designs of his own to attend to, a meteor, as fantastic as it is, would not distract him from finishing his latest project.

Welcome to the Roleplaying game of the Friestan Incident, where you can either take control of someone from the Commonwealth of Humanity, a futuristic Society spanning hundreds of worlds, possessing futuristic technology and generally a very high quality of life for every member of this Commonwealth, or the Kingdoms of Friestan. A much simpler society with lower levels of technology, but possessing magic, a unique X factor that no Human in the Commonwealth has experienced before.

Or perhaps as a minion serving the dark lord, your choice really.

Hey @Medili

1. It's pretty high fantasy, but not frickoff levels of high fantasy. A talented mage or warrior knight with the right magical enhancements can pretty much match a typical soldier from the futuristic Civilization, yes, there are some notable exceptionals, but nothing that can blow a whole chunk of the planet.

2. The Sci-Fi Human Civ is pretty advanced, think something more like an idealized, futuristic Utopia. Easily able to build Spaceships 10 Km's long in just a couple months, with hundreds of worlds to extract resources from, from Suns to Gas Giants. The Human Civ can afford some serious megaprojects and flex military might if needed. There is a lil bit of a twist concerning this group though, as they, for some reason, can't contact their home planet for the time being. So they are stuck with just an inkling of their previous might.

Also yes on the humans, although I will allow some array of Genetic modifications to change your physical appearance (think catgirls or elves), this is the future after all.

3. 10, although all I wanted are dedicated players, preferably an equal amount playing the Sci-Fi and Fantasy civs.
