RANGERS - A Power Rangers RP

Araknarok… that word alone is enough to instill fear into the hearts of anyone. Its arrival meant that the beginning of the end for whatever world had the misfortune of meeting a great evil face to face. Araknarok’s plan was simple: travel to new worlds and eradicate everything in its path. The destruction of worlds was the ultimate form of exerting dominance and establishing Araknarok as the true power across the universe. Those plans do not bode well for the next target within Araknarok’s crosshairs: Earth.

As Araknarok began to infiltrate Earth through the city of New Harbor, the response to the otherworldly threat needed to be rapid. Metamorphosis, a government organization, was thoroughly prepared for this threat but before they could protect New Harbor, Araknarok invaded their base, obliterating as many of the officials as possible. In a last effort to ensure Metamorphosis’s remained safe, the Commander released five superhuman devices into the world before fleeing to shelter in a hidden bunker.

That was weeks ago and since then, the threat of Araknarok appeared to die down. But the citizens of New Harbor remain paranoid. With Metamorphosis seemingly vanquished, what sort of heroes will rise if and when Araknarok shows their faces once again?

RANGERS is a Power Rangers RP that follows a group of individuals as they stumble upon not only an immense power that changes their lives but also the fact that they have a responsibility and duty to protect the Earth despite not asking for it. In the Rangers universe, the “Power Rangers” do not exist until this particular moment.

Araknarok has not only established its dominance but also its unity, which makes them extremely dangerous when comparing them to a ragtag group of people who may or may not be in it for themselves. The Rangers have to use their powers to come together if they want any chance of defeating Araknarok and saving the Earth. All the while, they will also need to investigate where exactly these powers came from.

The age of the Rangers will be between 21 and 25 years old. I really want to tap into them being young adults and dealing with the reality of having to balance what’s occurring in their personal lives while also being a Power Ranger. As of now, their identities as Rangers will not be made public (intentionally anyway).

Designations are not gender specific. There is not an established leader of the team. Each Ranger will be able to contribute their respective skills and traits in a way that should allow them to be a leader at any given time. The Rangers will, however, get direction from the Command Center.

LG's Slice of Life/Fandom Thread (Open)

Yo! Hey there, reader. I'm LG and I've been around these parts for quite a while. Had a few RPs going that did well and some not so well. My life outside of Roleplayer Guild has been a bit of a roller coaster to say the least and I no longer have as much time for the big group roleplays anymore (even though I would love nothing more than to do that!).

I am a 21+ years old male and have so many years of roleplay experience that it probably makes no sense. I would like to think that I am a very decent writer (feel free to check out my post history), but please don't be intimidated! I'm a sucker for a good plot, twists, turns, action, romance and fight scenes (A good fight scene is arguably just as fun for me as a good smut scene!). Also, I identify as Black/African American and because of this, I lean heavily on using POC characters. You don't have to use POC characters but anyone who does tends to move to the top of my list. I love seeing diversity in my RPs!

My primary interests tend to be Real Life/SoL, certain fandoms, some (very) low fantasy/sci-fi/superhero settings. My post frequency is pretty consistent, a few times a week (very seldom on the weekends). Please be patient with me.

The Ideal Partner is:

1. Patient - I am a very good communicator OOC, but I may not be able to reply every day. I've got a job that gets seasonally busy, but there are also periods of immense downtime where I can go back forward all day.

2. Plays Female Characters - I lean towards playing against female partners in 1x1 settings (just a preference) that play lead female characters.

3. Capable of Playing Side Characters - Not asking you to double up, but I am asking you to be capable of playing additional characters (side characters, family members, villains, etc.) for the purposes of moving the plot along!

4. "Casually" Advanced - I can write multiple paragraphs, but I also understand that there will be moments where posts can be shorter depending on muse or if there is time for some back and forth replies.

5. Helpful in Moving the Plot - I don't want to feel like I'm writing this story by myself or coming up with all of the ideas. I am more than happy to discuss any ideas you have and see how we can make it work in the RP.

6. Potentially Open to a Small Group RP (3 to 4 people) - This isn't a concrete requirement, but if multiple partners are interested in a particular plot, I may decide to merge things together and make a very small group RP with just 3 to 4 people max. Anymore than that and it gets hard to control.

7. Open to Using Real Life Faces - Not a concrete requirement, just a preference that I have. It helps my writing muse to see real life faces in my RP.

Initially when he moved out to California during his younger years, he was much more reserved, observant and closed off to the idea of meeting new people. Once he got acclimated and made connections, he opened up to become the goofball that he is today. With age, much of his antics have toned down along with the fact that he's running his business, but when drinks are flowing and music is playing, Javier enjoys being the life of the party.

| BACKGROUND |

Javier had a troublesome upbringing. Born in the a small town, his father was a gang member who was constantly in and out of jail while his mother struggled to make ends meet while working for a home daycare. With no consistent parenting at home, Javier eventually found "family" in the same way that his father did when he was younger by integrating himself into the street life, finding refuge in a local gang. In the midst of this, he visited his father in prison where they had a lengthy discussion about how his antics would eventually lead him into the same place where he was, but Javier was stubborn. Why would he listen to someone who was never there in the first place?

Fortunately for Javier's well-being, his mother had family in the California area that agree to take him on in an effort to right the ship. Before Javy could get too embedded in the wrong situation, he was quickly sent to live with his family in California where he was placed in a good school. The problem was that he couldn't relate to any of the other students. It wasn't until he bought in to some of the extra-curricular activities such as basketball and (unwillingly) Home Economics where he truly found some sort of purpose.

Once he graduated, Javier made the tough decision to leave the area that helped shape him into becoming a man and attended a culinary school back in Tennessee to refine his skills and begin his entrepreneurial pursuits of owning and operating a restaurant. Through discipline and determination, he saved up enough money during his time as a chef to purchase his own food truck which eventually led him back to California where his business could not only be planter, but flourish as well.

Presently, Javier is learning that success comes with a price. Expectation, demands and stress are all things he has to learn to cope with, but he wouldn't trade it for the world. It feels good for him to be back in California as he feels that this is where he is supposed to be. He's fortunate that his community of friends and loved ones are there to support him.

Sheer adrenaline was the reason why Charlie was able to remain close to the Muddies while they pursued the hooded person. Sure, death was a reasonably scary scenario, but somehow losing that suitcase was even scarier. She couldn't risk losing her internship because some cosplaying guys with scepters or this other person wanted to get their filthy fingerprints on GENESIS equipment.

"It's gonna sound crazy... but I don't know exactly. The only thing I do know is that it's important to Dr. Ogden, my supervisor with my internship. If I lose it then... I lose the internship," Charlie said, quickly glancing over to Jordan and then behind her once she realized that there were other people following away from the community event and into the woods that led towards the foothills. "I owe you guys big time for helping me out," she acknowledged to the others that tagged along with her and Jordan.

Up ahead, the hooded figure was grasping the suitcase tightly against their chest as the Muddies gained ground on them. As they came up towards the slopping part of the hills, one of the Muddies fired a blast in their direction, which sent them stumbling forward onto the rocky terrain, falling on their stomach with the suitcase covered by their arms. As they turned around, the cloak was suddenly snatched away by one of the Muddies before they started to surround the revealed person.

"Th-these Crystals belong to the Crystal Kingdom! I c-cannot allow you or anyone else to h-have them!" she replied, faint tears streaming down shimmery face. "Pl-please... I ask you to step away... I d-don't wish to harm you!"

One of the Muddies stepped forward as they surrounded her body on the ground, pointing the scepter's tip against the suitcase. But before it could strike, the suitcase burst open in a beam of cyan light. From it, five crystals floated into the air momentarily before blasting off past the Muddies to where the five individuals who were chasing them stood behind the group. Individually, the Crystals floated in front of them: the Green Crystal with Charlie; the Blue Crystal with Jordan; the Pink Crystal with Ryan; the Yellow Crystal with Nick; and the Red Crystal with Aiden.

"What is this?" Charlie mumbled, watching the Green Crystal float and dance around her upper body before meeting with her left wrist. It spun around rapidly in a beam of green light before detaching to her wrist in the form of a device. "Dr. Ogden... never told me about this..." Charlie replied, glancing over to Jordan and then the others as she saw that their respective Crystals were doing the same thing before forming the device around their left wrists.

By now, the Muddies' attention were on the five of them, away from the formerly hooded figure. They crept away from her with the threat of these five individuals looming.

"It doesn't make sense right now but... I am Princess Crystalia of the Crystal Kingdom," the formerly hooded figure called out, running over to the side of where the battle lines were naturally drawn. Whether or not these five were prepared to fight, they had no choice. The Crystals had chosen them. "The Power Crystals have selected to be bonded with you. You... are the Crystalizers."

"But... Dr. Ogden..." Charlie called out to Princess Crystalia, brushing over the fact that she didn't look like she was from this planet.

"Th-there is no time to explain! You must morph!" Crystalia interrupted. "Tap the helmet icon and use your hands to spin the perimeter of the Crystalizer Morpher and call out: Crystalize!"

As the final words left Crystalia's mouth, the Muddies slowly began to walk towards the five of them, hoisting their scepters in a horizontal fashion as if to stab a hole into one of them upon getting at a close enough range. Charlie lifted her left wrist to glance at the face of this... watch-looking device. Her hazel eyes glanced at the Muddies and then down to other four individuals beside her.

"We don't have much of a choice but to fight..." Charlie said softly, with a head nod. "Let's see if these things can help us... Maybe we'll get answers if we don't die."

Tapping her right index finger against the 'Ranger icon', the screen of the device lit up in a green color immediately.

"CRYSTALIZE!"

Extending her hand out fully, she spun the tire-like perimeter of the device in a counterclockwise motion as the green Power Crystal emerged from the device and spun around her body rapidly. Charlie could feel her body beginning to "crystalize" and energize her as what was originally her street clothes changed into an entire different... suit.

"What is... this!?" Charlie squealed, glancing down at her hands through her newly equipped helmet.
