Whether you've seen me around the guild or not, I should admit that it's only been within year-6 of my time on this site that I've bothered to start work on this here "bio". I feel like I should apologize for not making it a higher priority much sooner, but lately I've adopted that "better late than never" mindset when it comes to introductions, and besides, I doubt there was much to tell in my early years anyway. I'm pretty much an amateur writer who got my start as a minor tag-along player in a fandom AU campaign ran by a small, close-nit remnant of a community formerly in association with a notable strategy-gaming youtuber. I'm being vague for brevity's sake. In the end, I value my first exposure to roleplaying as a personal learning experience more than anything, as I'm definitely the kind of person that sequesters themselves in any given community they find themselves in and RPG is certainly no exception.
That pretty much explains what I've been up to for the last several or so years, with only occasional public posts from me, as private 1x1 roleplays are easily where the lion's share of my attention goes to. Details regarding my particular interests and even approach as a prospective partner can be found in the interest check I update very rarely, but if you'd like to have a link to it or want to work with me in a similar capacity, then PMs are the best way to reach me. As for what you can expect in very broad terms, I'll say that I'm a 90s kid who'd grown up on Nintendo and Cartoon Network where, thanks to Toonami, I've developed an appreciation for the Japanese style of animation, a style that commonly influences my own creative endeavors to this day. That is in no way to say that I'm an avid watcher of anime and the like (I have my tastes and while that does sometimes coincide with what's current, it usually doesn't), just that I gravitate toward the ludicrous, extraordinary concepts and settings they commonly facilitate. That style aligns with what excites me creatively. That's the long and short of it. "Nice regen. See Akemi? I told you looks and skill aren't everything...!" Varen hastily quipped, his spear igniting from its charm and then to its blade, a welcome sight in the face of Ares' very considerable regenerative ability (Varen: Yeah I consider it to be the cheapest load of b******t I ever saw in my life, if that's what you mean!) A dirty look about his features, he knew that it was going to be an uphill battle from the moment after his first strike landed. Never letting up the offensive, Varen was prepared to take the <<Silence>> head on, not seeing much of a choice if he wanted the burn damage to compliment his weapon's dps in any meaningful way. However, his eyes widened abruptly, when, just before the PKer's sword sweeped the two of them, the dual-wielder was pulled away with the force of Athel's <<Apprehend>>, herself receiving the disabling affect. Varen had a feeling that his <<Day Breaker>> skill would be crucial, it being a dynamic attack in itself, but its progressive equipment debuff especially being vital to ensuring significant damage thereafter, perhaps more than even his (Varen: Cheap!) <<Regen>> could handle. Of course, getting the guy to sit still was the problem that was always on his mind. So when Athel yelled "NOW", he knew pretty much what he needed to do. "Regenerate from this!" No sooner had the Warchief been pulled than he was struck with Varen's cataclysmic <<Day Breaker>> from the side, the spear-wielder charging in to heroically spam the ability, aiming for Ares' larger armor making for a bigger target for Akemi and anyone else joining in, each blow erupting with armor fragments and streams of flame, the grass around them swaying as if by a chaotic storm. <<Apprehend>>'s temporary reduction to speed and agility would be especially useful during the barrage.
@LiegeLord Cecilia was at least observant enough in a crowd to get a hint of James' own trepidation, but he was definitely doing a better job at dealing with it than she was. She looked down for a second, knowing that all her worrying wasn't helping either of them get through this; she needed to handle it better, like him. Also, it looked like they would be going one at a time, which didn't help sort out her butterflies in the least. She took a deep breath before continuing, taking no small amount of reassurance from his hand squeezing hers. "You can go first. I'm fine with it. It's just the beginning stage, so you'll be fine. I'll be rooting for you the whole way," she said, less visibly nervous. Really, she'd feel like more of a coward if he was going in her stead. But she'd get her chance soon, and a boy had already climbed the wall, making it look spectacularly effortless. When James moves to the wall, her hand would stay with his for a second before falling to her side. There wasn't a doubt in her mind he had this.
@LiegeLord Cecilia followed James, the crowd making her noticeably anxious, considering that potentially all of them were going to watch her climb. "Um, we're taking turns?" Cecilia wondered aloud, recalling that the counselors had asked who would like to go first, but chances were good that multiple campers at a time will be scaling the wall. Still, although she was very afraid to be the first, she knew that she would need to go sooner rather than later. "W-We may be able to go at the same time... Either way, I-I shouldn't delay for too long. I could go first..." she asserted, clearly nervously. She was already starting to get cold feet and as she looked down from his eyes to his hand, she reached out to it. If she was this anxious about the climb, what did she care if others saw her holding hands with him. "Th-They said that we're starting with the easy course and we only have to go as far as we can, so..." she added, a little rushed but smiling, hoping to reassure him in some way. She of course wouldn't object if James insisted on going first, confident that if either of them could get the hang of it, he could.
@LiegeLord Cecilia wasn't going to give away anything about her plan yet, she wanting it to be a partial surprise. Additionally, she would also need to ask for permission to use the kitchen and didn't want to get both of their hopes up should she be refused access. She actually surprised herself over how she tugged at James. She didn't think of it at the time, but she could tell that she was feeling more and more at ease around him. Securing the harness around herself, she heard Neric speak, blushing a tad while looking away with her right hand to her cheek, her eyes turning to James. She wouldn't have put it exactly in those words, but she indeed felt very fortunate to have met him. She never felt this way before and wanted to do everything she could to make him happy for as long as they're together. After Neric receded into his wound, James asked if she was ready, to which she came back to the here and now, lowering her hand. "Oh? Y-Yeah, let's join the others," Cecilia answered warmly, following his lead to the crowd around the wall climb.
@LiegeLord Cecilia appeared all the more attentive to James and Neric's account, nodding a little when their favorite dishes were mentioned. She hadn't considered making something else for Neric, which she was kicking herself over, but decided that given the wide culinary selection she's seen in the cafeteria thus far, possibly making both dishes wouldn't be out of the question. Okay. Pop corn chicken and spicy noodles... got it. she repeated to herself, rubbing James' hand in between her fingers, playfully tugging at him to the safety gear, slowly letting go so they both could put theirs on and join the others. "Hmm... I haven't given it much thought. Really, I tend to enjoy the company over the meal half the time, you know? But if I had to pick... perhaps the clam chowder I had in Maine(?), though perhaps just chowder in general... nothing too fancy," she answered as she fastened the locks of her harness, looking up at him when she finished. She wasn't quite up for doing the climb first and hoped that someone else would volunteer.
