Tai & Agumon

Location: Control Center -> Luncheon Room, Paradox Engine
Mentions: Danny@Crimson Flame World@Mintz

Agumon’s stomach continued to grumble as he and Tai were approached by the white haired boy that they had previously thought was a Digimon. Apparently he just had superpowers, and he was from a different world. While Tai had been familiar with the concepts of separate worlds, he had just thought that it was Earth and the Digital World. But now it seemed that there was a lot of worlds, with a vast array of peoples.

And one of those people was Danny as he introduced himself and said that they should get some food. He also mentioned it probably being better than the food at his school cafeteria. Tai took this to mean that he was also a student like himself, which he should have figured based on his apparent age, even if he wasn’t wearing a uniform like Tai.

“I was also getting lunch before ending up here,” replied Agumon, “So let’s go.”

Tai then turned to Asta after he made a comment about Agumon talking, saying, “Pretty much all Digimon talk.”

Tai and Agumon then began heading toward the transport pad. He knew that Ben had programmed it to take them down to the luncheon room, so the boy and his Digimon stepped onto the platform. The platform then began to teleport them, taking the pair down to the cafeteria. But just as Tai began to move he heard both a screech and what sounded like a car engine. The teenager began to wonder just what kind of crazy things were still showing up at the Paradox Engine.

Tai and Agumon instantly appeared in the luncheon room, finding that Danny may have been right in comparing it to a school cafeteria. It certainly looked like a generic cafeteria, with the same seating, lights, and tables like Tai’s high school in Odaiba. Agumon immediately ran over to where the food would’ve been served.

“Wait? Where’s the food?” asked a confused Agumon.

Tai walked up to where Agumon, replying, “I’m not sure. Ben did say that the station had been abandoned for awhile.”

“So no food then?” sighed Agumon.

“I’m afraid not,” responded Tai, before noticing a large metal door, “But maybe you are in luck.”

Tai walked over to the large door, noticing cold emanating from it as he got closer. Agumon dashed right behind him, placing his hands on the door.

“Maybe it’s a fridge, like you have at your house Tai?” mused Agumon.

Tai just nodded as he tried to open the door, only to find it firmly locked. Once he moved his hands out of the way, Tai saw Agumon try in vain to open it himself. The dinosaur Digimon grunted as the door refused to open.

“We’re so close! I need food,” sighed an exasperated Agumon, before getting an idea, “Wait I know what to do!”

Agumon then took a few steps back before leaping at the metal door, Razor Claws!”

The Digimon’s claws shone with energy as he sliced through the metal. After enduring the force of the attack, the metal door collapsed to the ground. A blast of cold air shot out at Tai and Agumon, causing them both to shiver. But Agumon quickly recovered, running into the chilled room.

“Well you can’t say that he’s high spirited,” chuckled Tai, before turning to Danny, “Well I guess we should see what Agumon found.”

As Tai walked over to the cold room, he hoped that Agumon hadn’t done too much damage to the Paradox Engine. While they hadn’t chosen to come here, they were technically guests on this space station and should probably leave it how they found it. But then there was no coming between Agumon and a meal.

Jasper Reid

The refugee from another universe was still getting used to his new home. While this Grailham City was similar to the one he had grown up in, there were still several differences. The history here was just different enough from his home dimension. It had been quite a few times that Jasper had made a faux pas in a conversation related to aspects of this world, passing it off with a joke about the Mandela effect. So he had done his best to try and learn about this new dimension, just so that he had an easier time fitting in.

A quick glance on social media had shown that several people that Jasper had known did exist in this world, but conversely many didn’t seem to exist here. Jasper had also thought of looking himself and his family up online, but it caused a massive feeling of anxiety, so he had not searched it.

But while Internet search engines were always decently useful for finding information, Jasper had always valued actual physical books. And while there were plenty of online book selling sites, Jasper was kind of strapped for cash at the moment. But luckily for him, Grailham was a massive city and as such had an extensive library system. And while there weren’t any in the neighborhood Jasper lived in, he could reach the nearest branch by one bus, granted it was a long bus ride across the city.

But Jasper didn’t mind, as something as mundane as a bus ride was calming to him. He had spent far too long living underground, burning the dead, and fleeing from monsters. So Jasper sat calmly on the bench at the bus stop a few blocks from his apartment building. Within a few minutes the bus arrived at just the same time as the app on his phone said it would. Swiping his bus pass, one of the first things he bought in this universe, Jasper took a seat in the middle of the bus.

The ride was uneventful, which was perfect for Jasper. Just gazing out at the still peaceful Grailham City did a lot to help his mental health. In fact Jasper zoned out for most of the trip, only really snapping back to the moment when most of the passengers got off at the Museum Bus Terminal. Jasper remained seated as the library was a few more stops up the street.

In a few more minutes, Jasper was departing the bus as he was adjacent to the library’s parking lot. Jasper was filled with a feeling of content as he stared at the modernist architecture of the library. The last time he had been here in his home dimension, it had been badly damaged by the military as they tried to contain the Pandora Virus.

As soon as Jasper entered the building, he breathed in the scent of physical books, the same smell he was used to in this library before the virus. From there he went to the front desk to sign up for a library card. That only took a few minutes, then he was free to borrow to his heart’s content. Jasper immediately headed to the history section, finding a large hardcover book on the history of Grailham City.

After skimming over a few pages, Jasper decided that it was what he was looking for. But before he left, Jasper decided to go to the fiction section. He went straight to the K section, and was pleased to see that Stephen King had indeed related new books in this universe. But then an announcement came over the speakers, saying that the library was about to close.

Jasper had guessed that he had spent longer on the bus and then browsing then he thought. Jasper had picked this branch in part due to its really late closing times. But that time had arrived, so Jasper just grabbed the newest Stephen King novel and headed for the checkout. After having the two books processed and placed in his backpack, Jasper exited the library as the librarian began to lock the doors.

But as Jasper left the building, he saw the city bus whiz past him. He swore softly as that was the bus he had planned on getting on. Looking at his phone, Jasper saw that the next bus wasn’t for another forty minutes. Sighing, Jasper took a seat on the bunch next to the bus stop.

Jasper proceeded to pass the time by playing games on his phone. Before he knew it a half hour had passed. Anxious to get on the bus and get home Jasper was looking up the street for the bus. But as he turned his head, Jasper heard an explosion from behind him. Whipping his head around, Jasper saw that it had occurred at the Carlyle Museum.

“That does not look good,” muttered Jasper as he stood up.

Figuring that people could be in trouble, Jasper bolted to the nearest alleyway. Luckily he always kept his hero outfit in his bag, just in case something like this occurred. After two minutes of struggling in the dark to get on his outfit, Jasper emerged from the alleyway, wearing the garb of Crystalis.

Jasper then began to run down the several blocks from the library to the museum. By the time he reached the museum, Jasper was out of breath. He took a few seconds to calm his breathing so that he could effectively create gem shards if this situation called for it. But as Jasper barreled through the doors, he was met by several people in various outfits.

Jasper immediately wondered if they were villains, but then he recognized one as Dynamo, the celebrity superhero. And it seemed that they were not fighting now, even though the museum showed signs of a battle. Whatever had happened at the Carlyle Museum was now done.

Jasper raised his hands as not to appear as a villain, approaching the assembled assumed heroes, just as the knight looking one introduced himself as Arthur Pendragon. Jasper wondered why he would use his actual name, but then he though that Pendragon sounded like a pseudonym. But then he also said that he was the king of Britania.

“Well, I’m no king, but you can call me Crystalis,” said Jasper as he walked toward the other costumed folks, “And I guess I missed whatever happened here. Is anyone hurt?”

With a quick glance around the room, it didn’t seem that anyone was indeed injured, but they could easily just be putting on a brave face. The truth was that Jasper had no idea who these people were, and that nagging distrust in his brain made it so that he was prepared to shoot some gem shards at any second.

Thanks for making the edits. Dane is approved and can be moved to the characters tab. You can also now post in the IC.
@BenG85
While what you have so far is good, you are missing some sections from the character sheet I provided in the first OOC post. If you could add in those few sections I'll look over your sheet again to see if it can be approved. What you are missing is the gender section (which is mostly there if you are gender swapping a character or playing an original), the history section (which can be brief, just needing to go over your origin, reaction to the Hydra reveal, and how they joined the Avengers), and the supporting cast, which is a list of a few characters involved with your own so that and a sentence explaining their relation. This is mostly so I can form future storylines that are relevant to the players' characters. If you add that stuff you should be good, but please wait till you get final approval to move the sheet to the characters tab.
@BenG85
While the Arcade character does sound interesting, if I had to pick I'd go with Black Knight as this RP is more canon (with some reimagining) focused. That and he's a badass character who doesn't get enough love.
@BenG85
Although I don’t want to stifle creativity, I don’t think that Doctor Doom would work for this RP. He is pretty firmly established as a villain and I do have plans for him if this RP progresses far enough. So I would appreciate it if you picked another character. A possible suggestion would be Mister Fantastic as he is related to Doom and still has some of the mad scientist vibe going on.

@NinaDivine
Kate Bishop would totally be acceptable as she has been an Avenger before (well a Young Avenger and then a West Coast Avenger). But yeah if you are interested, put together a character sheet for me to look over.

As Tai introduced himself and Agumon, the old wizard looking guy turned to them and introduced himself as Merlin, an actual wizard. Tai considered the possibility that he was some kind of wise digital being like his mentor Gennai. Like Tai and Agumon, Merlin seemed unsure of how he arrived in this room. He mentioned a Matrix, a term that Tai knew had to do with computers. So was this a part of the Digital World? Tai had been teleported around enough on his adventures with Agumon to not be freaked out about suddenly being somewhere else.

But somehow who was disturbed by teleporting then abruptly showed up, a few feet away from Tai, in a fetal position and covered in mud and plant matter. He then rose to his feet, brandishing a bat with a knife taped to it, asking about someone named Fred. Agumon quickly put himself between Tai and the newcomer at the sight of the weapon. But after a few seconds the man seemed to calm down, asking where he was and what happened to Fred.

Tai took a step in front of Agumon as he said, “I’m not really sure where this place is, having just arrived a minute ago. And I don’t know a Fred, but my friends who were just with me are not here. Also I’m Tai and this is Agumon.”

As Agumon waved at the recently arrived man, he then noticed that the crab creature was talking again, so he grabbed Tai by the hand and brought him close enough to hear what he had to say. As Tai and Agumon got into earshot, the crab person was mentioning ectoplasmic entities and pseudo-living creatures. Tai didn’t really have a clue what he was talking about. He wished that Izzy was here as he would be able to make sense of this.

The crab person then explained that the Paradox Station was a space station. Tai was familiar with the term from sci-fi films and the fact that they had built an international space station a few years ago back on Earth. But then the crab creature said that this station wasn’t in space, but actually outside time. It quickly became evident to Tai that he was much farther from home than even the Digital World was.

As Tai mulled over this thought, the crab man told the woman named Terra to stop messing with the controls only for the database to download itself into her brain. As she reeled back in pain, Agumon immediately ran over to make sure she was alright. But she recovered quickly, managing to remain standing as she gripped her head. Agumon thought of placing a hand on her for support, but decided against it as Tai’s lessons of manners reminded him that she was a stranger and it might not be appropriate.

The crab creature immediately began speaking again, seemingly ignoring the pain evident on Terra’s face. He mentioned the power source in the room and that the station had seemingly been abandoned for a long time. Then the crab man put up a map of the station, noting a Luncheon Room. At the mention of possible food, Agumon turned to Tai.

“Can we go to the Luncheon Room? I’m so hungry!” stated Agumon.

“But you just ate that fruit. Is food really that important?” asked Tai.

“Of course!,” replied Agumon as his stomach rumbled, “I need sandwiches, chips, chocolate.”

Tai chuckled, “You know what? Sure. I guess if we are exploring the station, then we might as well get some food first.”

But then Tai and Agumon both heard a clattering behind them. Turning around they saw that another person had appeared, a sword and book next to them. As he got to his feet, he shouted, asking where he was and if he died. The thought hadn’t occurred to Tai before, that this was some kind of afterlife. But that didn’t really make sense to him as both he and Agumon were here.

The newcomer also asked who everyone was. But before Tai could introduce himself, the man pointed at Agumon, declaring him a monster. At this declaration, Agumon simply scratched the back of his head. But the new man quickly decided that Agumon wasn’t a danger.

Tai walked over to the man with the floating book, saying, “He’s technically a digital monster, or Digimon. But I’m Tai and he’s Agumon. And none of us are sure how we got here, but apparently we are outside time and space, whatever that means.”

“But we are going to get food,” interjected Agumon, “If you want to join us. You look kind of hungry.”

Tai was glad that Agumon remembered to include others, as he knew that he could be pretty single minded when it came to food. He was also glad that this man with the sword had declared Agumon not a threat. It was all too often that when people are first introduced to a Digimon to immediately fear them. But it seemed like most of the people on Paradox Station were alright with the short dinosaur monster.
@Artemis Arts
No problem! Just glad that you are still participating.

@BenG85
Yes we are still accepting. You could read the RP log, but if you don't want to basically all that happened was that the Avengers were called to Avengers Mansion where Captain America briefed them on going after Viper and the Serpent Society. Right now everyone is just leaving the meeting room and heading toward the Quinjet hangar.

As for character suggestions I'll repost a list I posted earlier in this thread.
Classic Avengers:
- Iron Man
- Hulk
- Ant-Man
- Wasp
Powerhouse Avengers:
- Sentry
- She-Hulk
- Hercules
- Ares
Regular Human Avengers:
- Hawkeye
- Mockingbird
- Two-Gun Kid
- Hellcat
Space Related Avengers:
- Darkhawk
- Mantis
- Quasar
- Machine Man

Hopefully these suggestions help.
