Kijani didn’t like that look on her Master’s face, but she didn’t know what she could do to fix it. “What do you mean you were… wrong? What were you wrong about? And… wait a second.” Her brain was catching up. “Did you just say Skywalker? Anakin Skywalker? As in… someone related to Adam?” Now she was curious, but had an odd sense of foreboding.

“...Master, will you please share the burden? I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
As their legs and lungs started to burn, Jin came to the discomfiting realization that they could not run forever. Not used to large amounts of running left their body aching for oxygen. Already they were flagging slightly. With the last big burst of strength they had, they darted a hard right, separating from the rest of the group. Jin doubted the rest of them would even notice. They were all strangers, after all – every man, woman, and otherwise, for themselves. That was the way of life.

So it was without guilt that Jin split from the rest, aiming for the dark corners of the prison. The strange storks continued after the bulk of the group, which made complete sense to Jin. However, one monster did break off from the flock to hurry after Jin. “Dammit…” They wasted precious oxygen expressing their disappointment.

More running, more chasing. Jin didn’t know how long it went for. The reprieve came without warning. A dark room with what looked like an open door, and the monster bird had not yet rounded the corner. Jin practically stumbled in, hurriedly diving into a patch of shadow that they just seemed to melt into. Thank goodness the maintenance jumpsuit was a dark gray-blue. It blended very nicely. Jin watched through tired eyes as the bird peered around, and…. Passed right by.

Jin didn’t dare do much more than exhale as softly as possible and slump to their knees. As their eyes began to adjust, they realized they may have made a major mistake. The dull, gray bars. No windows. This was a cell. Fuck, they had run all this way only to jail themselves? But it was far too late. Their legs had all but given out, and getting up again proved impossible. Jin was just too tired. So, this cell would have to do.
oops
“Sorry.” Jinny muttered, not sorry at all. “I just wanted to see what you were building. Your tech is so gorgeous, and your lines are so neat and tidy.” She looked it over again, frowning delicately. “Though it is kind of messing with my head. How you get all that on your harness there is beyond me. It looks like it’d weigh you down.” This boy was smaller than even Jinny herself, which was, after a thought, excellent. So she wouldn’t be the shortest kid in all the classes.

She stepped around the boy, hands behind her back, simply taking it all in with her sharp eyes. Touching someone else’s things was something she had to work on, on a continued basis. Most of the time she got too excited when she saw new technology. “Is that a jet pack? Awesome. I’m guessing you made that yourself?” She looked up, glee and the faintest traces of jealousy in her eyes.

“I wish I had a jetpack.” This was true. Even though she could fly, she was still having trouble gaining height. So far her record was about 7 feet from the ground.

“I’m Jinny, by the way. What’s your name?”

Location: Haly's Circus
Interactions: Daphne

Kassy, pleased to be included in Daphne’s plans, joined her quickly. She ordered a cheeseburger, funnel cake with chocolate, and something called “fried ice cream” which intrigued her. The whole fair so far had been one wonder after another. Sure, Atlantis had festivals with games. But not these strange contraptions that one of the others had called “rides”. The screaming joy of the humans caught her by surprise, and she wanted to join them.

Wearing a different “human disguise” with a few tweaks to not reveal her own face, she stood by Daphne’s side, illusion-green eyes alight with happiness.

“This place is great! There’s just so much to do and see! I feel like I’ll never run out of things.”

She had a backpack on, and there was a massive blue stuffed unicorn sticking out of it. “This is for Zach! I won it from a man who said I couldn’t catch goldfish. Ha! I caught thirteen goldfish like a proper hunter. And he gave me the doll and said not to come back. Isn’t that strange?” She giggled softly. Obviously she was having a wonderful time.

“I can’t wait to try one of the rides. Perhaps after we get what we came for.” Of course she remembered they were on a mission, but with so many fun and new things around her, it was impossible not to be distracted.
Sometimes, every so often, Jin wished they did drugs. If only to have an escape. This day had been far too much already, and Jin was reaching the breaking point.

During Pondwater’s little villain speech, Jin felt themselves getting angrier and angrier, to the point where they were clenching their jaw and fists in an attempt to not speak. How dare this man speak about what he didn’t know? Some lofty position like a president knew nothing about what it was like on the ground. People who fell through the cracks were often shoved there, stomped down by everyone else trying to get ahead and above. How dare he assumed it was some kind of moral failing on their part? But Jin kept their mouth shut. Somehow, they knew that if they spoke out, it would make things worse.

Unfortunately, they were quickly proven correct, as the largest of their group had an unwise outburst. It seemed Jin wasn’t the only one who found this man’s attitude absolutely disgusting. This seemed to trigger something in the man, and before Jin knew what was what, there were… things… in front of them. To call them animals was too generous. These, Jin hesitated to think, could only be referred to as monsters. Admittedly Jin hated to use the word. Similar epithets had been thrown at them for various reasons during their life. But until they had time to think of a proper name for these creatures, monsters was it.

Then things got stranger. As they were surrounded, some vaguely familiar blue haired chick (with absolutely terrifying knockers) showed up ready to fight. She told them all to run, and Jin needed little prompting. They started booking it as fast as their short legs would carry them. Which was actually quite fast; a speed borne of absolute terror of the unknown behind them.

“What the actual hell is going on!” They knew no answers would be readily available yet, which made them want to live all the more. If only to figure out what fresh and new hell this was.
You definitely don't have to play out the whole Scrabble game. ^_^
Devika grinned as Roxy said she'd try to play. "Good! I'll help you if you want. I will say now that we might lose, as my mother is the spelling queen of doom."

"I heard that!" Came a reply from the front seat.

"And it's true..." Devika shook her head.

They arrived, and got out of the car. Devika's parents headed inside, and Devika gave Roxy an emotional once over. She remembered the other woman didn't like cars, and they had ridden twice in a short amount of time.

"Just making sure you're okay after the car rides." She said with a smile, before heading in herself. Her father was already clearing off the living room table, and her mother was getting the game from the shelf where it sat among many others.

Roxy would be addressed as soon as she got into the house, by Devika's mother. "Come, sit! I heard Devika explain the rules, but if you have any questions, just ask." The board was arranged, tiles were passed out, and the game began.
I'm good.
@Bright_Ops Obsessive about weaponry? LOL, she didn't even start on the bows and arrows yet.
