Why were you hired/recruited? When a member of a major drug cartel wanted for murder and information surfaced in Las Cruces. Mateo, along with a BAU unit, was assigned to track him down. Eventually, finding him in an abandoned warehouse and after a firefight. They manage to arrest him. Mateo proved himself to be a valuable agent during the operation and impressed the BAU agents. Enough that later he was offered to join the BAU, which he accepted.
Interactions/relationships: 𝙸𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝙴𝚡𝚊𝚖𝚙𝚕𝚎𝚜
Yes, another case done with and a prick in prison. Score another one for us and how we celebrate? I know a place. - Mateo talking to a colleague after finishing a hard case.
So there were some things I will say and others things I keep to my chest. You going to have to deal with that and maybe down the road, I will say what you want to know. Maybe. - Talking to someone about his past.
Acquaintances
𝙵𝚛𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚒𝚗𝚎 𝙼 𝙲𝚞𝚛𝚝𝚒𝚜 - Mateo has not had much time to talk with the Chief Medical Examiner as yet but has not heard anything bad yet.
Situational
Mateo treats situational people in his life as friendly as he needs to be but does not allow himself to become attached to that person. Only when the person has his interest or it has become clear they are going to be in his life more than he thought. Does he allow himself to develop an attachment to them. Otherwise, he does not think much about the people he has met and will probably never see again most of the time.
Friendship
Vergil Thompson - A person that Mateo meets after moving to Baltimore and are on good terms with each other.
Family
Catalina Secada - Mateo's younger sister by a few years and the only family that he has left after the death of his parents. He would do anything to keep her safe if trouble arose. He keeps in contact with her.
Romanticships
Julia Issac - Mateo's former girlfriend whom he broke up with after it became clear that the two had grown apart from each other and things would not work. The end was amicable for both of them. Though he still thinks of her from time to time.
Background information He was born in Colombia and moved to the States with his family when he was eight and is a naturalized citizen. Speaks both Spanish and English fluently. Hates drug cartels and has two scars. One on the palm of his right hand and another on his chest near his left bicep. This one clearly a bullet hole scar, and does not want to talk about how he got that one. Also is a surprisingly good mixologist.
You did do it right and you're accepted!

𝙰𝚌𝚚𝚞𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚝𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚎𝚜
Work Colleagues Since she hasn't been with the B.A.U long, Francine hasn't gotten close with anyone yet.
𝚂𝚒𝚝𝚞𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚊𝚕
Victims Due to the nature of her work, Francine feels a "level of familiarity that most cannot" with the victims who find their way onto her table - she learns everything about them, and she can't help but empathize with their life's journey that led them to her.
𝙵𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚍𝚜𝚑𝚒𝚙𝚜
Clara Gardinier - Roommate Although they haven't known each other long, Francine and Clara became fast friends. Francine moved into the spare room of Clara's apartment upon moving to Baltimore, and the women quickly grew close.
𝙵𝚊𝚖𝚒𝚕𝚢
Dr. Sean Murphy - Father Her favourite parent - she's definitely a "daddy's girl."
As a surgeon, Sean was the sole reason that Francine wanted to become a doctor, although it confused him when she told him that she didn't want to work on living people, claiming that she "wasn't sure that she could handle the pressure" after seeing how stressed he could be when he returned home some days.
Detective Miranda Murphy - Mother The disciplinarian between the parents; this is due to her no-nonsense attitude that allowed her to excel in the police force. Francine loves her mother dearly, and holds a deep respect for her.
Alexander Murphy - Younger brother Francine is almost 20 years her brother's senior. Alexander was adopted into the family shortly after Francine left for college, much to her chagrin; due to her being away for so long, she never got the chance to bond with him as he was forming his close familial bonds, and so barely feels like his sister, instead comparing herself as a "disconnected cousin."
This doesn't mean she doesn't love him, however: She would "burn the world down for him" if anything ever happened to him.
𝚁𝚘𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚎𝚜
Dr. Jason "Jay" Curtis - Ex-husband Francine and Jason attended college together and married fresh out of their senior year. They remained married until Francine received news that she was to be transferred to the other side of the country to attend her current position - Because of his own career, Jason refused to move with her. Although she was disappointed, she understood and left without him.
While the end of their relationship was semi-amicable, the stress from the current proceedings of their divorce has caused the two to argue almost every time they speak.
Accepted! You can move her over to the character sheet tab.

Titles/nicknames
Either will be the Section or Unit Chief depending on interest and applications
Kathy ⊹ Kat ⊹ Kit ⊹ Kay
─────────────
Past experience
Kathy decided to go to college after high school graduation, she did not catch on easily to wanting to do anything. She switched her degree from business, accounting, anthropology, environmental sciences, biology, chemistry, biochemical engineering, and probably a few more. After five years of attending school, Kathy graduated with a bachelor's in Criminal Justice along with holding a GPA of 3.6. Very soon after graduation, she was going into the B.A.U.s training program and was one of the most efficient students in the past couple of decades, her trainer would say "One of the best female students they have seen in a while" which ticked her off.
Many individuals would whisper around saying that Kathy only got into this career path because of her mom and would cut down her accomplishments because of her family being a part of this career path. Another reason she felt like she had to work harder and prove herself even more -- competitive to a fault, wouldn't you say?
Kathy quickly climbed the ranks before she was promoted to director only 7 years after she stepped into a normal fieldwork agent.
Examples of how they interact with people (make some up or wait for the roleplay):
"I don't always have time for nonsense, but when I do, it's usually yours."
"I'm not arguing, I'm just explaining why I'm right."
"I'm a sassy woman with a mission and nothing can stop me."
Interactions/relationships:
Acquaintances
"Everyone is an acquaintance till you become friends with them or put them away."
Situational
Kathleen would consider "situational" relationships to be mainly focused on the people she puts away. She has a list. She is proud of that list and she will love to tell you about everyone she has put away and why they should stay there for the rest of their lives. Other than that, she considers the majority of her unit to be situational relationships - very similar to the relationship you have with the person that takes your order at the local coffee shop. You might only see them once or a handful of times. You barely know their name, but you know they are there.
Friendship
Kathleen is known to be a hermit and her best friend is a black cat by the name of "Samual". Other than that, she has a hard time calling people her friends or getting close to others. She does have a friend from high school she stays in touch with and will visit once or twice every few months.
Family
Randolph Larsen (father) ⊹ Kathy would be lying if she didn't say she was a daddy's girl. She adores her father. By stories, her teammates would know that her father worked in the U.S. Airforce for at least forty years. He's retired now and has been for a while. In her eyes, her father is the strongest man she knows and that might have caused her to have high expectations for romantic ships because she has had rocky relationships with no patience and no time to deal with another person's idiocy.
Beverly "Fletcher" Larsen ⊹ If you found Kathy to be sassy, her mother is equipped with the whole package as well. Beverly "Fletcher" Larsen was a special agent for about twenty-one years before becoming the unit chief for about ten. Kathy's mother was on her way to being promoted to Section Chief but she had a major heart attack along with other health issues. This caused Baverly to rethink her life and what she really wanted to do. She ended up retiring in her mid-to-late 50s and has not regretted it for one day. She does find herself becoming extremely bored if nothing is happening and will randomly call her daughter Kathy no matter the time or situation.
Evelyn "Larsen" Shelton ⊹ Evelyn is Kathy's older sister by two years being born when their mother was 23. She has been married for at least two decades (Kathy can never remember the date), but she knows that her sister was married a few years before having her eldest child. Evelyn has four children.
Stephen Larsen ⊹ Stephen is Kathy and Evelyn's youngest sibling and only brother. There is a major age gap between Evelyn, Kathy, and Stephen. Kathy and Stephen are about 10 years apart. Even though he is way younger, Kathy tries her best to stay in touch and be a good older sister to him. Currently, he is stationed outside of the U.S. and is known to be a great marksman. Last she knew, he was on a top-secret mission, and has not heard from her little brother in roughly 5 months.
Romanticships
Kathy has never been married and in all honesty, she does not have the plans to be married. Her career has always come first. She has tried the relationship route even to the point where she has moved in or allowed someone to move into her space. It's always rocky. Never works out. She doesn't feel like she fits into the dating lifestyle. In the past five years, she has not been on one date. You might find the woman complaining about her ex "Collin" that screwed her over or at least in her mind screwed her over. She appears to not have forgiven this man and probably never will.
Background information In-progress
Lucian Neagoe
Chief of the Behavior Analysis Unit of the F.B.I. SSA Lucian Neagoe | Unit Chief Neagoe | Chief Neagoe | Josiah Greene
_____
_____
Lucian started his career path in the armed forces for the U.S. military at the age of 18. Not having any immediate family in the U.S. and at a young age, the military took advantage of his flexibility to underground jobs, and top-secret missions, and quickly made him an expert sniper. Most questions about his past in the armed forces are ignored or met with brutal honesty of keeping your nose out of his business.
In between the time of being in the armed forces and the B.A.U. was a decade gap, Lucian was an undercover agent for the government, another branch of the F.B.I. This career path stopped him from going back into the military and continued his path to becoming Unit Chief. He was a part of a special team of males and females who were working inside the sex slave trade, human trafficking, and illegal organizations to stop their local operations in the U.S. - sometimes missions led him out of the country. Under this career path, he was known as Josiah Greene, and his last undercover mission led to a betrayal by his leader, the brutal murder of his family, and a mass investigation by the F.B.I
Lucian joined the B.A.U. in his early 30s and was relentlessly watched during his first few years. He quickly changed the minds of the supervisors, as he exceeded the expectations of his colleagues and section chief. Approximately a decade later of fieldwork, golden stars, and a tonne of therapy; Lucian was promoted to unit chief.
_____ Recruitment
Before recruitment into the Bureau, Lucian was offered several options that included early retirement, and a ton of different job offers that the board of directors had for him. The recruitment time to the B.A.U. was quite long since he had to attend mandatory therapy and get cleared by a therapist and psychiatrist before starting his first day as a field agent.

“What were you thinking when you decided to betray your team and get a handful of innocent civilians murdered?” Lucian asked not only because he felt as if he needed to know, but he wanted to know why a supervisor would do such a thing to his team. While questioning Derrick Barnes, he was backing the older man into a corner, in a random parking garage around 10 PM.
Derrick Barnes was breathing heavily, while he listened to Lucian, half attempting to nod his head, “You need to understand that my family was in danger too, Lucian. I felt like I made the right choice,” he was trying his best to calm down the undercover agent who was ex-armed forces.
“The right thing!?” Lucian’s voice echoed through the parking garage, as his anger showed on his face. Pushing the water barrels out of his way, he approached his ex-boss, who appeared nervous. “The right thing would have been to say no or go to HQ, not put innocent lives at stake!” he couldn’t keep his voice down from all the emotions running through his system.
Derrick began to back away as much as he could while holding up his hands to hopefully keep distance between him and Lucian. Looking into the eyes of a man who was not only angry but in pain made him realize that he was not getting out of this easily, “Luci-Luci,” stuttering, “,L-let’s talk about this.” Being face-to-face with the younger man was an uncomfortable feeling, “You should have thought about that sooner, Barnes,” Lucian’s voice dropped into almost a whisper, and his eyes changed into emotionless orbs. This was the first attempt of Barnes to escape Lucian, with a push, Lucian fought back with a punch to the other man’s face. Falling to his knees and putting his hands up over his head, “Luci!” Barnes shouted in fear. “I-I know you're mad, and I know I cannot fix this, but I beg of you to spare me.” he began to beg for his life or someway out of this situation. Lucian placed his foot onto Barnes' side, pushing him over, and having the weight of his one foot on the man’s chest. He pulled out his phone and began to do a few things before showing a picture of his deceased wife and children, “Do you think she begged for her and her children’s lives to be spared when you crossed me? Telling those men who exactly your team was? Who I was?” Lucian was asking the man, he forced the phone into Barnes face a bit more. This picture showed a woman, half-naked, sprawled out on the ground with blood everywhere. If this picture wasn’t sickening enough, in the upper corner of the photo, a child’s hand could be seen.
“You knew exactly what you were doing when you sold out your whole team, Derrick. Do you think these types of men care about women and children? What do you think they decided to do when they found out I was a cop? Do you think they killed my children before they brutally assaulted and killed my wife or do you think they made children watch their mother be tortured to death?” Lucian was asking questions that were undetermined. All of his family's deaths were roughly around the same time that the medical examiner either told the truth or lied to Lucian to save him from painful details.
“Lucian, I didn’t think they would do-” Derrick was cut off quickly by another punch to the face. Grabbing the man by the jaw and collar of the shirt. He kneed over the man that he was planning to kill, “What? That human traffickers were not going to take advantage of innocent women and children?” he asked in a low voice. This voice was showing that he did not have patience for the man and Lucian started to become calm in his decision. Both men knew that Derrick Barnes was not going to be able to reason his way out of this situation and Lucian stood up, “I’m going to enjoy this,” Lucian rolled up his sleeves while kicking Derrick into the concrete wall. He grabbed the man’s hair and pulled him up by it, “You do not need to scream or beg, Derrick, no one is going to come to help you.” The undercover agent brutally beat his ex-boss to death in a parking garage.
Breathing heavily, he stepped away from a body that was not identifiable by the damage he caused and grabbed his phone which was on the ground, picked it up, and placed a call. He called himself into HQ to report the death of his boss “Hello, who is calling?” a woman answered. “Lucian Neagoe,” he informed her. Nothing was said for approximately 30 to 60 seconds before a voice of a supervisor was on the phone in place of the regular employee, “Mister Neagoe, what gives you the pleasure of finally contacting us?” she asked in a nervous tone since she knew he went rogue with another agent months ago. “I’m calling to show my condolences for the death of Senior leader Derrick Barnes,” his voice was calm with slight shaking. Silence fell in between the two communicators before the woman decided to answer his abrupt statement, “W-w-where is your location, Mister Neagoe?” She was clearly surprised and maybe upset.
After the discussion and arrival of officers, Lucian Neagoe has put into custody at the site of Derrick Barnes tragic death and brought in to be investigated. Two men were accountable for the murders of at least a dozen human traffickers and Senior leader Derrick Barnes, Lucian Neagoe, and Garret Flux. Both men disappeared after the betrayal of Derrick Barnes and the death of their families. No one heard from either of them for at least six months until they both called in on the same night to turn themselves in.
This investigation into the two agents, Lucian and Garret took 3-months before the board of directors figured out their options. They gave both men several options and they had to have mandatory weekly therapy. Garret Flux took early retirement and Lucian took the option of becoming a field agent for the B.A.U. Many people were hesitant about this voice, but he did not join the B.A.U. until a year after the decision along with mandatory therapy sessions.

_____ Background Information
Birth - 18 Lucian was born in the early to mid-80s to immigrant worker Mihaiti Neagoe and his wife, Nicoleta. All three Neagoe children were born in America, illegally, and Lucian was the first child of this family. Throughout his childhood and teen years, he was known as a very polite young man and was known for participating in sports year-round. 18 - 23 After high school graduation, Lucian watched his family fall apart. Mihaiti was being tracked down for his illegal activities in the states and his family was put into the crossfire of a raid team. By the time the team burst through the front doors, Mihaiti had at least a 24-hour head start which led to a hefty investigation with the Neagoe family. Nicoleta was being forced back to Romania while her children were given the option to stay in the States, Lucian was the only child that stayed.
A 4 month's search for his father caused him to slam into a wall, he became homeless, and he was running out of options. He decided to sign onto the armed forces and he became an excellent sniper for the military. Excelling at this position, he stayed the full 4 years.
24+ After his term in the armed forces was up, he had no idea where to go, but he was approached with a job offer for undercover work. Turning his life around, Lucian Neagoe became Josiah Greene, and he began to work on the cases of human trafficking from the inside out. During his 9 years as an undercover agent, Josiah Greene married a woman by the name of Kimberely Suiter and they had 3 children together. Nearing the 9 years to decade mark, the Greene family was brutally murdered from the words of a coward. They were to live on in Josiah’s memories. At the time of his family's death, six agents experienced the loss of their own lives or their families. After the encounters caused by the betrayal of their leader, Derrick Barnes, 3 agents were left alive. Lucian Neagoe “Josiah Greene” and Garret Flux disappeared for 6-months till the death of Derrick Barnes. A lengthy investigation took place after the call-ins from Lucian and Garret, which led to Garret taking early retirement. Lucian decided to go through the route of becoming a field agent for the B.A.U.
Before his approval by the appointed therapist, Lucian had about a year of required weekly therapy sessions to help with his past trauma. He attended optional anger management classes for the brutal outcome of Derrick Barnes death as well. Lucian spent most of his thirties working as a field agent for the B.A.U. and in his; late 30s, he was promoted to Unit Chief. He has been the unit chief for only a handful of years, but he enjoys his position and colleagues.
Quick Insight: The main inspiration for this Role-play is from true crime podcasts and public cases along with T.V. series like Criminal Minds, NCIS, Law and Order, and much more. This will not be a completely GM-guided RP. Inspiration from the Role-Players about cases/events is always welcome! Warnings Only welcoming 18+. If you have triggers/sensitivities to certain topics, especially topics that revolve around true crime and crime shows, I would advise you not to participate in this RP.
Rules
in and out of character ⚀ First and foremost, listen to all established site rules: This is self-explanatory, I know, but I feel like it still needs to be stated. Respect and listen to all staff members of RPGuild. ⚁ Do not metagame/god mode/or whatever you might call it. If we have an OOC discussion and it is not stated otherwise, that means your character/while you are writing IC does not know that particular information. Ruining the fun for everyone else makes it not fun for you or others. ⚂ GM and Co-GMs always have the last and final decisions. That's final. Please do not argue with the decisions that are made. You can privately discuss with the GM or/and Co-GMs about the decisions made (which will not be a public matter anyways) to dispute. ⚃ Replies will follow the unspoken casual guidelines. If you do not know what this means, it means no one-liners. Please reply with at least a paragraph (or five+ sentences). Another unspoken rule is to wait for at least one person to post in between your posts. Post Deadlines will be requested to make at least one post every 2 weeks. ⚄ A world of reality or a slice of life. This means your character cannot just do anything and everything and not face consequences. This world will be similar to ours (or portrayed as similar to how our world is reflected through the TV series this is based on the most), meaning that consequences can be met by what your character does even in their free time, alone. ⚅ Participate! I do not just mean post one post by the bi-weekly deadline. Share your ideas. Not everything will be accepted or incorporated, but I and I bet others will love to hear the ideas you have. Maybe a future crime scene investigation? Or two characters maybe having a past and didn't realize they went to the same high school or whatever. It can be a small world out there sometimes. Just have fun and be creative!
Instant Warning Rule: Do not post graphic 18+ images/content. I understand that we are in a crime drama role-play, but others on this site do not wish to dip in here and see such content. I know we are all probably Criminal Mind, NCIS, Law and Order, or other TV series junkies who have seen it "all" in a sense, but we have to respect the site's rules and other people's innocence of not watching what we do. Everything has to be written out. You can post an alleyway scene without the victim being in there. It is okay. Everyone gets the reference point.
This is just a reference to what you need in your character sheet, but you are not limited to only these items. First (Middle/M.I. optional) Last

1. The victim, a male in their 30s, was killed in a warehouse around dusk with a baseball bat. The victim did not work in the neighborhood and no one can identify him. The murder weapon was a metal-hallow bat bought from a sports shop within the area and was found in a dumpster around the corner. Potential evidence includes fingerprints and drug paraphernalia. Evidence for fingerprints is an unknown status and a police officer confessed up to touching the weapon without gloves. Location - Washington D.C. 2. The victims, two females in their 20s, were found in a parking garage around dusk with a gun. Bullets are still left in the chamber, yet the gun and bullets found on the victims would not match the entry or exit wounds. Assumption of the actual murder weapon being with the killer. Potential evidence includes multiple shoe prints formed in blood and DNA samples under one of the victim's nails. Looks like she fought back. Location - New Orleans. 3. Alive Victim case - the individual has unknown age, birth date, and identification. Showed up naked in the middle of Salt Lake City, Utah. The individual seems to be able to communicate just fine. Local Police have stated that the individual has brought up awful descriptions of people in cages being treated like dogs or animals.
B.A.U. Important Information
The Behavioral Analysis Unit is located in Baltimore, Maryland. This specific unit is a federal task force that specializes in investigating and solving serious and complex criminal cases. A unit like this is not a stranger to having a mix of military and civilian personnel, as well as expertise in forensics, psychology, and criminal profiling.
The unit has advanced technology, data analysis, and traditional investigative techniques to gather evidence and track down suspects. Typically, the B.A.U. works at the national level, and has the resources and jurisdiction to handle high-stakes and high-profile cases. Traditionally, the B.A.U. would be working inside of the national level, but they have been involved in oversea cases. This happens when allied countries need advanced technology and a specialized team.
