Freya - Conomi Islands

@Dragonmancer@Hillan@LokiLeo789@NachoBachoPacho And anyone else near the burning Massacre Pirate ship

“Oy, sleepyhead. The Gorilla’s looking right as rain, so you should probably try catching up with the rowdy bunch who came through here. They left quite a mess, so I expect you to be able to pay them back in full.”

Her Den Den Mushi droning at her from it's table, Freya grumbled to herself, "You couldn't even wait five minutes?"

As her ship finally reared onto the scene, needless to say, there was a certain sort of chaos to the whole mess that had Freya missing the fact that she gave up her beauty rest for this. Not that she needed it.

Still, it was havoc. Everything appeared to be on fire, at least two ships had been largely obliterated, the survivors still scrambling to safety. Everything that wasn't obliterated seemed to be on fire, especially the deck on one ship that was covered in smoke. However, if her eyes weren't playing tricks on her, those coils of black smoke were mixed with a more healthy white, which implied John was getting work done. Also was that...was that a scary huge monster poking out of the smoke? Freya hadn't even seen anything like that on the Grand Line.

Barking maneuvers to her crew, she dropped down to the deck, pacing alongside the edge as her ship got closer to pulling up to the burning vessel's side, Freya keeping herself as close to that burning ship as she could, trying to get eyes on whatever was going on.
Working on a post, but first, in case I need to know, @LokiLeo789, is Xerxes aiming at Anaru's last remaining ship or Freya's incoming one?

Also, to weigh in on the idea with the Massacre Pirates getting sent to Impel Down @Ira, it doesn't sit well with me for a number of reasons:

Firstly, it's probably on the other side of the world. If the Conomi Islands are closer to Loguetown/Reverse Mountain than Impel Down is closer to Mariejois, which is on the opposite pole. That is a crazy long voyage for some small time prisoners. To give a canon example, Arlong was not sent to Impel Down from the East despite being a former prisoner as we saw in the Fishman Island flashback.

I think the biggest problem though is that if the Massacre Pirates are sent there, then narrative insists that they must escape. And if some literally nobodies from the East can escape the greatest prison in the world, then now it's been reduced to DC's Arkham Asylum: a revolving door for players who'd had their characters captured. Prisons in general were always going to be like this in the event of a capture, but Impel Down?

Also, even if they somehow do escape, now they're stranded in the Grand Line, leagues away from any other player characters, unless they go back, which trivializes the long journey everyone's supposed to be taking even further.

I think the best option would be to just create a high security prison in the East to break out of. You'll have more freedom with the setup/layout, and breaking out won't undermine an important setting landmark.

...That ramble is going to end up being longer than my next post, isn't it?
Matsuri opened her mouth to respond to Nina's comparison, but the teacher took the stage. And when a hero said something, it had been drilled into most people people to listen in the case of emergencies. They played that commercial a lot.

As a few of her schoolmates described their Quirks, Matsuri was more interested in their names: she was actually pretty good at remembering names, if nothing else. She already knew some of them, but there was one that gave her pause.

"My name is Lucius Arioch... Uh, please call me Luca."

"Lu-lu-shi-asu...Ari...Arioku?" Matsuri stammered. At least 'Luca' was easy enough for Matsuri's Japanese tongue.

No one was going next though, so Matsuri lit up, jumping into the air, hand raised, "Oh! Me! Me me me!" Slowing her roll, she began, "Um, it was um, super acceleration! When I'm stopped I can go BOOM and run superfast. And and and that's it." Feeling like something was left unfinished, Matsuri added, "Er, I'm not good with walls. And um um I also like salmon over rice but soy sauce is too salty for meh!"

Great, now she was getting hungry. When was lunch?
"Well, glad one of us is excited," Freya mumbled in John's general direction. Ignoring Zepp, Freya knew full well she wasn't the best example, as so much of her Division followed suit in their overall energy.

Before she could finish her thought, it wasn't more than a few minutes after she'd hung up that her Den Den Mushi went off again. Teru wouldn't have patched it through if it wasn't important. The whole reason Freya'd made her the comms officer was so she didn't have to 'serious up' every time someone wanted her attention.

Popping her cigarette out of her mouth with one hand and taking the reciever in her other, she didn't get a word in before she got a tactical suggestion from Anaru. He'd already engaged? Freya had mixed feelings though. Her more modern side wouldn't mind not getting involved, but not at the expense of Anaru's division. Would they even be able to maneuver like that? Chomping down on her cigarette again, she muttered, "Couldn't make this easy, could you?"

Turning back to the deck, Freya demanded, "What's the ETA?"

One of the crew answered, "Twenty minutes if the winds keep up!"

Freya blinked, eyes widening as she saw a few points that were the Conomi Islands on the horizon. Looks like they'd been pretty damn close when they got the call. If they wanted to speed up...there was probably some dead weight they could shed in storage, or if some of her unique subordinates could use their abilities to help in some way...or at least John. Maybe.

Her mind was more talkative than her mouth, however. Despite her ideas, she simply ordered, "If you two can come up with any way to make the ship go a bit faster then go for it."

"Guh," Matsuri grunted as Nina pulled her into another hold. She was forced to stumble along, her balance shifted, but she did so without complaint, eventually adapting and beginning, "Um, my Quirk is like...first I have to not be moving, then I..blast off like a running rocket pchooo!" Matsuri finished, "After that I can run really fast but I can't, like, turn. I figured out how to jump though! Even if it slows me down. But once I get slow I have to stop before I can go really fast again."

After walking a bit more in her stuck position, Matsuri wondered, "Are we there yet?"
Freya – East Blue Seas near Conomi Islands

Winds rough under sunny skies, Freya's long green hair flowed over the back of her reclining chair on the deck. Her Justice coat was lashed to an umbrella, which was keeping most of the sun off of her.

Rolling over, she muttered, "I should do something..."

"Purupurupurupuru. Purupurupurupurur."

Turning back over to the small table at her side, an emptied cup of juice sitting next to a Den Den Mushi, Freya stared as it rang for the third time...fourth...fifth.

Midway through the sixth she finally grabbed it, figuring she got what she was asking for. "Hiiii," she droned.

On the other end, her Comms officer, Teru, began, "Captain, we got a call from Lietenant Anaru's group. He's heading into the Conomi Islands to subdue the Sunny Massacre Pirates. Since we're close he said you're welcome to join."

"Sunny Molasses? Crew names get dumber every day. And I thought the 'Steak Pirates' were bad." That said, Freya wondered if Conomi Island had any good steak. "Patch me through."

"Yes ma'am."

Sitting up, throwing her legs over her seat and sitting with her back straight, she waited until she was in contact with a comms officer under Anaru's command. Voice less lax and more refined, Freya said, "This is Freya, Captain of the 99th Patrol Division. Inform your commander that we're en-route if the situation starts to get out of hand. This is his operation so he's retaining command. Over."

Replacing the receiver, Freya's posture slumped, but she stood up anyway. Surveying the deck, the mood was no more relaxed than she'd been just moments ago. Piping up, she ordered, "Oi! We're changing course! Navigation! Deck! Set a course for the Conomi Islands!"

Not making a further move herself, Freya took a cigarette and lit up. Her officers weren't familiar with the stubborn gorilla, were they? Or maybe they were, who knew...

Matsuri couldn't help but giggle excitedly, "It really is yer hands how did I know that!? That wasn't even on purpose!"

The question turned on her, Matsuri withdrew, a fist under her chin and her hand on her elbow, face tightened into thought. Realizing what Nina was asking, Matsuri shakes her head, before responding, "Oh, uh, yeah. I found a really good book in a store that had a bunch of ideas for superhero names, so I picked 'Red Staccato'! Staccato means..."

Matsuri's mouth hung open, a raised finger held up as she planned to point something out, but she stayed quiet. Finally, she dropped her hand, before revealing, "I forgot. It was...it was...it sounds cool! I think it's Italian, since I named all my attacks in Italian, like 'Rosso Linea' fwah!" Matsuri punched out in the air in front of her.

Taking a breath, Matsuri went back to her 'thinking pose', muttering, "Sand Stone...Sand Stone..." Looking up to Nina, eyes a bit lidded, Matsuri was more reserved as she asked, "Do you wanna borrow my book?"
@Great Sogeking

"Mhmm," Matsuri muttered with a nod, backing off a bit. She was a bit surprised though, and even more so when she was captured by the arm of some girl, eliciting a gasp! That fell apart when the orientation began though, Matsuri getting her butt square in a seat alongside those other two.

The orientation was...surprisingly normal. She managed to stay awake during the speeches, and she didn't know the school song, but by the end of it she wasn't quite sure.

Getting up to move was nice, at least, but Matsuri was certainly a 'little' ball of energy, as it looked like she was pretty runty as far as the first years went, which led to her buzzing around trying to get a nice view as the year was taken through the halls. The teacher's voice was plenty audible though, but Matsuri tuned out what she heard about the dorms: didn't matter none to her!

As she tuned the teacher out, she tuned the rest of her year in. There was some chatter among all the nerves, but Matsuri was just as curious as every about everyone's superstuff. Catching a certain brown haired ponytail that had accosted her earlier. Rubbing elbows, Matsuri inquired, "Hey, you from before, who're you? Oh, I'm Matsuri." Thinking of the way she approached earlier, Matsuri raised her arms, wondering, "Ya got a 'handy' Quirk? And what's yer hero name and stuff gonna be? Huh, huh, huh?" She flapped her arms excitedly as she waited for the answer.
