Bio

Well now that I got the customary "post once" requirement out of the way....

HELLO

Welcome to my safe space. Well, about as safe as one space can be, I guess. If you are here looking for something, I am very sorry to disappoint you, but I made fresh cookies! Come sit a spell.

I guess I'll do some more in-depth stuff about myself. My name is Nick and I am 33 years old living in Illinois. I am a therapist and clinical responder (which is a fancy way of saying I go out on police calls to provide mental health assistance). Been doing therapy for a few years now and I absolutely love it!

I am a gay, cisgender man. I came out last year in January (smack dab in the middle of a pandemic. Timing was always my downfall). There is still much I am learning, but I am proud and happy to be who I really am and not have to hide it anymore!

I am an avid gamer, especially roleplaying games (cue surprised and shock noises). I also enjoy writing and reading, especially mysteries. I am not new to roleplay, I promise. I have been doing it for years now in different formats. I am experienced, even if it doesn't seem like it.

I use humor as a coping mechanism for sure, but I also like laughing and enjoying myself. Life can be pretty sad and upsetting for the most part and I don't want to add to it.

Whew! That got deep!

I will be poking my nose around in spaces and hoping to jump headfirst into this. Some interests I have in terms of roleplay settings include superheroes, DnD, science fiction/fantasy, mysteries, thrillers, horror stuffs, apocolypse, and espionage. And I am a fan of most things pop culture. If you have any suggestions or possible roleplays you think I would love, please let me know.

Otherwise, stick around! This is gonna get wild!

Prudence followed Jack through the portal and set foot in yet another unfamiliar place. Giant buildings surrounded her, made of metal. The ground was stone, but stone that was placed with purpose. She had little time to gauge her surroundings as she saw demons run amok amongst everything.

According to Runa, who had lost herself and found it again, it was stated that this Annanym's plan was the destruction of literally everything. Why was that a goal for people, she wondered. Why did it take the desecration of entire worlds for plans to come to fruition? If everything was gone, what did that serve you? She would prefer everything be as it was and rule over it all.

"If we are running out of time, I suggest we make haste to into this sanctum. The demons would slow us down but fighting them all would consume time as well." They were also reuniting with some of the others. The warlocks seemed to be battling with some metal monstrosity. Prudence rolled her eyes. It was this that would cause the destruction of the world. She made her way towards the doors to this sanctum they mentioned. Perhaps she would find this power first.

As Perry followed the others down the hall, she suddenly felt pain through her body, enough to cause her to stop. What the hell was this now? She nearly dropped to her knees from the pain until it subsided and she felt cool, like her burns were being treated. It seemed Ed had attempted to heal her and failed the first time around, but at least he got it the second time. She felt better. She'd have to thank him later.

She eventually met up with the others in time to see Cortez's sister shooting up the room in what she felt was like an adult temper tantrum. Thankfully, Bethany had used her super cool abilities to tie her up some. Perry sent out Barry like a pokemon and he shot his taser, hitting its mark. The zap didn't do the job of knocking her out, but at least it hurt her. Perhaps she would stop. Perry noticed she dropped her gun. Perry ran over and picked it up, pointing it at his sister. "Why don't we stop now? Or I'll send my friend out to shock you again." She did not intend to shoot her, but it was better to have firepower on your side than on your enemy's side.

Sabine closed her eyes as more people came to swarm by them. Though she was happy to see such support, she was feeling a little claustrophobic. Was the room getting smaller? On top of that, everyone was speaking over each other, each having their little solution to the problem. Leah had the right idea if April wanted to go, they would go, but to pick her up and essentially drag her out was out of the question. "Everyone just....stop!" Hoping that would calm people down some, she continued. "Those that haven't been in there won't know, but it is essentially a doorway into a nightmare. I came face-to-face with what could only be described as an evil, older version of myself. I have to assume anyone who does go in there experiences the same. And after that I am not doing well physically or mentally so I can only imagine the pain that April just went through."

She stood up just as Leah did, screaming at the top of her lungs. "Leah is right. If you all want to help April get somewhere safer, do so, provided April goes willingly. I, however, am not leaving this dance until whoever set up that nightmare pays, preferably with blood but I am willing to take limbs or memories, depending."

Verity could feel the honking and yelling driving the screw into her already pulsing headache. She just didn't have time for this. Thankfully, the guy who hit her had the sense to have his information ready. "Oh you are having a bad day? Aww. Aww!" She made a show of mock crying. "I don't care! Just hurry it up. I have places to be."

If truth were being told, she didn't hate the man. He was kind of cute in a "I would only do anything with him to piss off my parents" kind of way. Just as they were going to exchange information, some jackass hit a puddle, drenching them. "You have got to be kidding me. Hey asshole! If I see you ever again, you're dead!"

She tried, albeit hopelessly, to shake off the water. "You know, at this point, fate is telling me it's not my day, so forget it. The damage isn't that bad and I know a guy. Hell, been meaning to get a new car anyway." She walked towards her car. "Hope your day gets better, at least. Mine is apparently fucked."

With all of their efforts, the Green-Eyed Ones were losing numbers rapidly. Each of them adding fuel to the proverbial fire. Prudence was not paying full attention to her companions. Instead, she opted to fuel her fire. Her recent acquisition of power had changed something in her. She had felt compelled to unleash the beast, as it were.

Prudence stepped forward, crackling energy between her hands. The lightning was dark and stormy like it was possessed of a darkness as well as a light. She could feel it wanting to burst forth, but she held it longer, allowing it to fester like a wound. Once she was satisfied, she unleashed it, sending the dark light through the monsters, hitting one by one by one until she could feel it sink into their flesh, burning them from the inside and obliterating the lot of them into tatters.

Prudence smiled. This was power unlike any she felt before. It was unlike what she was given by her Master. She would need to do some soul-searching when she returned home. If she even did.

Facing the others, she glanced at Runa. Something was off about the old woman. Others had taken note. "We are victorious for now, but we should move onward. Where to next?" she asked Jack. This was his realm, after all.

Sabine felt a slight headache coming on, which was not surprising. She had just done battle with an evil future version of herself and did so in her own mind. She began walking out of the haunted house, debating on whether she should set it on fire but opted not to since there were probably still people inside, including April and Leah.

Speaking of her, she could hear Leah and someone crying. It didn't take long for her to realize the cries were from April. Sabine picked up speed and rounded the corner, seeing April on the ground with Leah comforting her and Mads close by. Sabine cursed under her breath and ran over, kneeling next to Leah. "Hey, it's okay. We're here now."

She squeezed April's hand for reassurance, for both herself and April. If she experienced what she did in there, it stood to reason that Leah and April did as well. And she was still feeling it from her own battle. The physical and mental toll could not be weighed easily. However, whoever made the haunted house and ultimately made April cry.

No one makes April cry.

sabine stood up and cracked her knuckles. "Who made it? Who made that fucking haunted house or whatever the hell it is? I'm going to kill them. I don't care if it is a student, a teacher, Colson, or the entire Avengers team. They are dead!" She could feel herself burning up.

Perry felt herself grow a headache. Was that a thing? Could one grow a headache in their own mind? She felt the slow pain develop as the others spoke, all hashing it out, screaming, realizing that they were probably being played by this douchebag and his douchebagette of a sister. "Just....stop." She said this to no one though, mainly to herself and her brain working overtime.

"Anyone else feeling like they are just little cogs in a machine? I mean think about it. Half of us were brought here because we won some contest, but yet were not expected to want to stay here. The other half doing all they could to come find us, which is obvious they wouldn't have just let us stay here, forgotten. When we do finally meet up we come across this douchebag who can enhance powers to the point of sheer chaos, but yet we have the actual asteroid base crumbling around us. It's like a comedy of errors. And now we have his sister being the one we need to find?"

Perry shook it off visibly. She noticed the others were probably on her same level of frustrated. Guin had at least seemed to find the sister. "I'm coming with because if anyone else deserves a punch in the face it's his sister." She followed Guin to where the sister would be, ready to unleash hell. She wanted off this damn rock.

"Ms. Holmes, we can't..."

Verity clenched her fist before speaking. "First off, it's Verity. Not Ms. Holmes when speaking to me. Ms. Holmes is my mother and that bitch probably gets off on it. Second, you damn well can. We had this meeting on the books for months. I worked around your boss' schedule. I made time in mine. Hell, I even ordered gluten-free muffins for them. So they will show up to this meeting. They will be on time. And they will do so with bells on. Do I make myself clear?"

She could feel the assistant start to weep and Verity rolled her eyes. "First rule in the business world. Suck in your tears. It's a sign of weakness. Get your boss in that room or so help me you will never get another job in the city. You'll be lucky if you get to suck out sewage from portable toilets when I am through. Do it now!"

She turned off the call. She had been driving while speaking (hands free, get off her back!). She quickly dialed her own assistant. "Trudy, hold my calls for the rest of the day. I feel a migraine coming on."

"Already done, V. Your father called also. I did as you asked."

"Told him to take him and the demon spawn he married to the molten crevice they crawled out of?"

"Not in those words per se, but the message got through."

"What would I do without you?"

"Kill it as usual, but in a little less pinache."

Before Verity could reply, she felt herself lurch forward. She looked around. She had stopped, but her car had been moved. Was she hit? She looked in the rearview mirror and saw some dude on a bike. He had apparently ran into her. "Oh you have got to be fucking kidding me."

"What happened?"

"Some dirtbag on a bike just rear-ended me!"

"Well, that's money in your pocket then."

"Going to be hard to collect from a corpse when I'm through with him."

Verity hung up and got out of her car, much to the chagrin of those around her, honking their own horns. She looked at her car first, noting the damage, then to the man's bike, noting the significantly more damage done. Then to the man. He looked ragged and worn out, but heavily frustrated. Good.

"Well isn't this lovely? Decided to not pay attention to the road in front of you? Well you stepped in it now. Name, number, and insurance and we'll get this going. That's going to take days to get sorted and I just don't have time for that. Couldn't have hit anyone else? Had to be me?"

Verity was straight-up fuming. She did not need this added to her day.
