Bio

Years after writing my original post and funnily enough, I'm still Prose!

I'm twenty something, I like superheroes, magic and well... anything that happens to catch my eye. Sometimes I take random breaks from this site and reappear when you least expect me. Sorry about that. It's the mental health. I thrive in high casual settings and I like to write the same characters over and over so expect to see them regurgitated across different threads.

LOCATIONTHE EDGE.
INTERACTING WITH — COLIN BRADY - @Altered Tundra

""Don't worry about being underage," said Officer Brady, right before he lost his job." the resounding grin on Zeke's face was all in good humor though, he took the glass and raised it to clink it against Colin's.
"To us!"

After their glasses touched, he wasted no time in tipping the glass back to his lips. If Colin had wanted him to loosen up then he'd sure chosen the most efficient way. Copious amounts of alcohol had been the only reason that he'd survived any social situations as a teenager. Some people were sad drunks, some people were angry drunks, Zeke was a happy drunk. It was the one thing that always made him open up, it was a lot easier to be himself when he wasn't second guessing everything that he said.

He was grateful that Colin seemed to realize that he was floundering in this chaotic club scene. Though he wasn't sure who was going to drive them both home tonight, he was glad to just enjoy the feeling of alcohol warming his throat. It was a sensation that he was all too familiar with and one that had an immediate calming affect over him. He knew that his parents, specifically Shawn, would kill Colin if they knew that he'd supplied Zeke with alcohol for the night but he definitely wasn't going to be the one to tattle.

"You're taking full responsibility for any stupid things I do or say," he made an eye to eye motion at his older brother. "I'm a pain in the ass when I'm plastered."

It wasn't a lie.
It didn't take him very long to drain the contents of his glass, he wasn't a novice to pounding down alcohol and that was glaringly clear. The pleasant humming in his head was a good start, but he wasn't going to be entirely happy until he was good and hammered. He was quick to flag the waitress down again, feeling bad that he hadn't brought his own money. It wasn't polite to burn Colin's wallet dry. He'd have to pay him back when he took him home, he really didn't like to be a mooch. Even if he was mooching off his own brother.

"What have you been up to lately? I gotta imagine that it's more exciting than making coffee day in and day out."

Grand Ridge Academy - ???

An axe swinging in a wide arc towards his body, his stomach dropping down to his toes.
Martin was no coward, he wasn't the bravest kid in Grand Ridge but he certainly wasn't cowardly. This was something else though, he had coped with the camping event by ignoring the fear that plagued his nightmares. He had coped by not facing that he'd been a breath away from dying. He had coped by joking and playing it off but at the sight of this boy being killed, he could feel the fear rising up in his chest again. He could feel himself wanting to bolt.

He didn't even think he could bolt. This was all like some kind of fucked up simulation. They were all trapped here and forced to watch as this boy was killed for the amusement of Scott Reese. The life faded from his eyes, it was blessedly quick, but it didn't make Martin feel any better. It actually made him feel worse. They had all had each other at camp but this guy, he'd had no one and that wasn't fair. He hadn't had anyone to help him.

It made him sick to his stomach and he wanted to vomit but it seemed disrespectful to puke all over this odd ether-realm that they had imposed upon. As the world around them shifted, he found himself holding the contents of his stomach and avoiding a panic attack that was sure to hit as soon as they were free. He didn't want to see any more freaky shit but that must have been an impossible request. There was something in their new blood-soaked sky and it demanded his attention.

A burning orb, reminiscent of the one that had shone down on them as they'd taken the boats away from the campsite. He had been in so much pain and full of so much fear then that he'd tried to ignore it, now it was here and it was blazing. It was glorious in a weird way. He couldn't help but marvel at it, it was hard not to.

"... This is what the Glutton will do to this town," a voice startled him out of his reverly, it dared him to turn and face it and so he did. What he saw was appalling, it was some sort of young God with a slight frame and a pale glow. "This is what what he wants you to do; fight each other instead of him."

The ethereal figure looked off to into the distance, probably pondering something that he didn't quite understand or maybe something that their mortal minds weren't built to comprehend, "... You must reconsider your actions, and connect with one another. Or he'll win. Each day, he grows more powerful, and hungrier for the Gift. So tell me..."

It looked at them, there was an emptiness to the creature's eyes that seemed neverending. It was hard to look into it's face for too long, it was overwhelming to be facing it in this way. He wanted to close his eyes and block it out but he thought that it might come off as rude. So, he was stalled, looking it in it's cherubic face.

"... Will you stop him? For me? For everyone here?"

It was the big guy that addressed it first, posing some questions that Martin couldn't help but agree with. There was a lot more to consider than just being able to band together to fight Scott. . . Or whatever else was going to be thrown at them. He hadn't considered that but what if there was more to fear than just Scott Reese? What if they were all killed? How could his powers even help? He could draw forth shadows and plunge the world into darkness but as far as he knew, that was it.

It wasn't dangerous or heavy-hitting, it was just shadows. He couldn't summon fire like the cocky-looking kid, he couldn't force the truth out of people like Rita or draw things into life like Rien. His power was pretty much useless, it was a purely cosmetic power. It was interesting to view and it was cool in theory but it didn't do much.

"I want to help," he admitted, feeling strangely humbled that this being would even include him. "There's just not much that I see my power being useful for. I mean. . . I obviously don't know everything that I can do with it but it's just shadows, man."

As eloquently said as that was, it was the truth. They were just shadows. Now, he wasn't an expert on shadow powers but he didn't see that getting any more useful as time went on.

Aliana piped up, her voice sounding stronger and sharper despite all the weirdness. "What's he doing with the markings? Is he absorbing their ability?"
@Surtr Inc I'll have my post up later today or tonight. I'm working on it now!

SAGE

"It's going great," Kennedy said sarcastically, almost daring Sage to grin. "Today's my anniversary, but of course they forgot, so no flowers."

"Happy anniversary, teach! I bet you're excited to have wasted two years of your degree in actual hell."

The kid was joking, of course, even if his jokes could seem a bit biting. There was a strangeness in being on a first name basis with a college professor, if Kennedy had worked at his old school then he probably wouldn't have thought twice about him. He might have even resented him to some degree, but here, they were all in hell. They couldn't forget that they were all destined to the same terrible fate here. They couldn't forget that when Paragon ran out of tests, they were all going down with it.

At least, that's how he assumed that this all would end. He may have only been here for four months, but he didn't picture a happy ending to it all. This place was destined to go up in flames, and those flames were destined to take everyone out with them. He was just waiting for the day that their reckoning came. It was only a matter of time before everything fell apart, wasn't it?

Ivory had entered the room and though he knew very little about her, he did know that she was a force to be reckoned with. He considered nodding at her but he thought better of it, his greeting had been for the whole room. If she wanted to answer then she would have. He pushed at the slop on his tray boredly, he wasn't excited about eating it and he was unlikely to enjoy it when he did.

Maybe he'd zoned out a little but he tuned back in to hear, "...Kiddo? You're probably the only person in this goddamned facility I can take in a fight without getting my nose broken, but your strutting around like you own the place! It's not your highschool bud, you can't sneak your dads gun in to punish all the kids who bullied you!"

"Fuck off." there was undisguised venom in his voice. "I might not have my dad's gun but I can make do with any number of items in this room, you pretentious piece-"

He caught himself before he got too far, realizing that it was probably best not to start arguing with Alexander. If he did get into a fight with the older man, he would probably get his ass handed to him but it would be worth it if it could staunch his annoying anti-hipster rhetoric, if only for a moment. It was easy to hate Alexander, he didn't have many qualities that rubbed Sage right. It was a wonder of why he hadn't gotten into a fight with him earlier.

Sage was known for getting into trouble, though it was usually just for the attention value. If he didn't think that he'd get attention from an action then it wasn't really worth going through with it. Though he was sure that he'd get some kind of attention for getting beat up by Alexander, he couldn't help but feel like it wasn't quite worth it. Not only would it probably get them both punished but he wasn't a fan of beatings and he wasn't about to start becoming one. Though, it did sound fun to deviate from the norm.

He'd save this for another day. Alexander had already gotten distracted in shamelessly telling them his life story. He wouldn't be the one to interrupt him in persuit of a fight that would probably end with him losing. He was ballsy and he was bored but his irritation had faded as quickly as it had presented itself. Maybe next time. Maybe next time.

"Sage."

There weren't many people in this place that he genuinely liked but Fay was one of those people. There was just something about her that made him feel at home. She reminded him of his mother to some degree, he was never really able to be mean to her without feeling like he was kicking a puppy. "Hey, Fay."

He was soon caught off guard by the other prophet of this place, a man who's visions had a habit of infiltrating despite his collar. It was something that Sage envied, his visions were very controlled nowadays and he missed the spontaneity of an unplanned viewing. The older man was rambling about them getting out, which might have been easy for anyone else to shrug off. It was not easy for him to shrug off.

He watched as the older man was dragged off, his brown eyes flickering to Victoria as she spoke. "So, are we going to talk about what just happened?"

"I think it's important to address that," Sage agreed quietly, "There's got to be some way we can talk to him. I need to know what he saw."
@Surtr Inc You're fine, I just didn't want to stall anyone so I decided to pump out a post. I was going to wait but like I said, didn't want to be the dude that kept everyone else in place.

Hopefully I didn't void your cooler post because I'll bet it's awesome!

It was awesome.
@Surtr Inc I'm so sorry, forgive me. I thought I was stalling everyone.

Grand Ridge Academy - ???

Disoriented.
Martin Cromwell was disoriented by the sudden change, the world around him was terrifying and strange. They were seemingly stuck in some other universe, they were atop some kind of ethereal platform. They were all just ghosts here. Something about this new semi-transparent form was reminding him of the dream that he had shared with these people. He had looked kind of like this in that dream, transparent and mint green. It was strange to see this with his waking mind.

Of course, the other parties were reasonably confused and he was completely at a loss for words himself. He knew that he should be more scared, Britney obviously had a pretty powerful ability if she could do this but instead, he was becoming increasingly fascinated. Everyone had become colorful ghosts and it was beautiful in a very odd way. It was strange and incredibly interesting. It was hard not to feel like a scientist that was uncovering all the clues.

He wished that he could get a photo, something to compliment his notes but he wasn't sure if his phone camera could capture this place in all of it's glory. He also wasn't sure if the timing was right to start nerding out. It was hard to hold onto his irritation, especially when everyone had gone silent upon the shift in their environment. It was almost peaceful, despite how freaky it was. It didn't take long for everyone to start talking again.

The confused comments rose from the group, Billy had even taken the initiative to inquire about who had done this. It had been Britney, he was sure of it. He just didn't know what kind of power could cause something like this. Maybe some kind of dimensional ability? Surely this was another dimension, it certainly looked like one. He had never been to another dimension but he imagined that they'd probably look a bit like this.

"This is insane!" Martin said, excitement clear in his voice. "What kind of power is this?"

"Yeah, that's the appropriate reaction to weird realms that remind me of creepy nineties 3D graphics." Aliana muttered, her gaze scanning over the odd bluespace. "Brit, what the hell just happened?"

It wasn't that she wasn't grateful for the silence, she had gotten tired of hearing the arguing. She certainly hadn't planned on challenging Penny but she hadn't wanted to hear her go on a tirade for any longer. Sometimes Penny could say things that just went above and beyond the call of duty when it came to asshole comments. Claire had also seemed about ready to throw down with Penny which would have been worse and loyalty to Penny would have tied her down to the room until they finished their tussle.

God, she was glad for this messed up dimension.
She sighed through her nose, hoping this was all cleared up soon but not counting on it. Things like this weren't meant to happen and she wasn't sure that it would ever make complete sense to her. Trauma had caused them all to gain these weird abilities and now they were all suspended in. . . what? What even was this place?

LOCATION; THE TOWER - VALORA'S APARTMENT.
COLLAB BETWEEN; @Blazion & @Prosaic

It didn't seem like much time at all had passed before Valora's door was being knocked on, so soon after her latest guest's departure. The Frenchwoman, having taken a quick shower to remove the sweat from her earlier panic attack, now could only poke her head out of her bedroom to stare quizzically at the door before finally moving to it.

Yet once she was before the door Valora hesitated, a shiver running down her spine. What if it was Onyx come to see her? The thought of opening the door to see the giant feline made her insides twist and a shudder, and her slightly damp feline ears flicked backward - they were receding, but taking their sweet time about it.

That was silly, though! More than likely it was one of the New Horizon employees, or even Alice having forgotten something. The blonde tilted her head to glance over at her couch as though to check, before shaking herself. They had just talked about this! She couldn't be afraid of a door. With a deep breath Valora finally unlocked her door and opened it.

Valora blinked at seeing her closest friend in the tower. He looked so dishevelled, and her mind cast back to when she had last seen him - slinking from the gymnasium after having Elliot hanging all over him, distressed and no doubt worried over herself. That twist to her gut returned, not in fear this time but guilt. It bubbled up in her chest, pushing the words from her mouth.

"I'm sorry!"

Their words had blended together into some kind of weird and freakish, apologetic amalgamation.

Silas was quick to take Valora into a hug, a warm hug that pretty much enfolded her against his chest for a moment. He hated that Onyx had scared her so much and it had made him strive to want to keep her safe. She was his best friend and her wellbeing was of constant concern to him. He knew that he should have prioritized her more and he was beating himself up over it. He didn't even know what she had to apologize for but he was as insistently worried as ever.

He was comfortable to have her in his arms though, hoping that he could maybe offer some solace to her. His vision was getting bleary and his head was aching, he was going to have to down another energy drink or two. He wondered if he'd left any in her fridge, he tended to drop by her apartment more than the rest of the heroes in the tower.

He pulled back and looked her in the eye, his eyes were starting to look a little bloodshot and he was getting that pale, drawn, exhausted look about him. "Valora," he said softly, "I'm so sorry I didn't show up sooner. Ka'van had a problem, he needed someone to talk to. I feel really bad about leaving you to hang like that."

"Oh, Silas," A sigh couldn't help but escape Valora's lips and she just shook her head, only to cup his face and examine him closer, as comfortable with him as he was to her. "You are running yourself ragged again. You did not have to worry - Alice was with me. I am just sorry I didn't help you." The woman bit her bottom lip briefly, before stepping back and gesturing her friend inside.

"I'm not running myself ragged, there's no such thing, my dear Valora." he huffed dramatically, but his mouth was edging on a smile.

He was glad that she was okay and that Alice had helped her. It wasn't often that he left that job up to anyone else but if he had to choose a person then he guessed that Alice was as good as it got. "I'm glad she stepped up to help, I was really worried that you might need me."

"Come, you must rest. We can pretend to watch a movie for ten minutes until you fall asleep on the couch." A slight smile graced her lips, an easy comraderie that allowed Valora to gently tease her friend.

"I was gonna-" his voice broke off into a yawn, he stepped inside of the apartment. "I was gonna down an energy drink and run on fumes, excuse you. Have I left any of that toxic garbage in your fridge?"

"You do." The Frenchwoman replied, firmly locking the door behind Silas. However rather than let him retrieve it she crossed her arms and raised her unmarred eyebrow. "Though I admit I was tempted to drink it when I was devouring my fridge to regain my energy earlier. I almost regret not doing it. Come, Silas, you look exhausted. We can have a-"

The golden-furred ears to the side of Valora's head, peeking out from her blonde hair twitched. "Cat nap?" It said something for how comfortable she was around him, to make feline jokes.

"Ah, come on, Valora," he grinned, nudging her lightly with his elbow. "Don't make me caterwaul, I was feline fine before I got all beside myself with worry."

Though he did give in, letting her lead him over to her couch. He had been here mode than enough times to know that it was best to let Valora have her way. They had created a sort of cycle of caring for one another and he would be wrong to not let her have her turn. "Okay, okay, only because of the pun though-" he broke into another yawn. "And we are going to watch a movie, maybe something nice and cheesy? You know how I love a good romcom."

"You have been around Joseiah far too much," Valora sniped back, though the humor in her voice was obvious. Maybe she had been as well, to be fair, he had that affect on those he hung around with. For now, however, it was time to focus on getting her guest settled. "And your best feature is worrying over others, but you do not worry over yourself nearly enough! Now sit down and pick a movie, I will gather the blankets."

Yep, Valora was going to build another blanket nest. She was rather good at them.

"Don't hate me 'cause I'm funny." he called after her before going through their selection of animal-proof movies, he eventually settled on one that was as disgustingly sweet as it was corny. He had forced her to watch it a gazillion times but scary movies gave him nightmares. "I was just saying to Ka'van that you are the epitome of all that's great in this world, I'm your biggest fan."

He almost couldn't wait for the blanket nest, it was one of the most comfortable things that he had ever experienced. It was hard to be uncomfortable when you were literally surrounded in blankets on all sides. "Maybe tomorrow, if we're not busy saving the world, we can hang out again."

"I would say I'm your biggest fan as well, but you have a rather long list!" Was called back in return. It didn't take long for Valora to return with an armful of blankets that utterly obscured her vision, having to edge into the room to avoid tripping. After dropping them on the couch she quickly began arranging them with practiced ease, though she did perk up at Silas words. Her ears were mostly back to normal, but the sprinkling of short, downy feathers that were sprouting from her neck seemed to ruffle.

"I would like that. And you know you are always welcome here. Especially if you need to get away for a bit." Satisfied with her nest of blankets for now Valora turned to Silas, tilting her head. "My door is always open to you."

"If you would dare to believe it, I was very unpopular in highschool." he allowed Valora to arrange their nest, comfortable to be the one being taken care of. That was the good thing about Valora, she treated him with just as much consideration as he treated her. Sometimes if was tiresome being the only one who took care of the team, it was good to always come back to Valora. "Thank you, Valora."

He smiled to her, yawning into his hand before settling back to watch their film together. "I'm not sure you know how much it means to me that you're always so good to me, I think I'd fall to shambles without you."

"You are too busy worrying over others to worry over yourself, someone has to," Was Valora's response, gently nudging her shoulder against Silas' as she settled back with him in the nest. She didn't mind that he picked his favorite movie again, even if she could almost quote the entire opening sequence. He'd likely fall asleep very soon into it anyway. "But I am happy to be the one that does. You are my closest friend here, after all. Who else would build me a collection of animal-free movies?"

"Only your best friend, of course, my dear Valora." he gave her a playful smile before getting comfortable. "Seriously though, thank you."

The two watched the movie, comfortable in each other's presence and it wasn't long before exhaustion seemed to overtake the boy. Valora had been right to begin with, he was destined to pass out as soon as he started watching the movie. It was usually a struggle for him to keep himself awake after using his powers once, let alone twice. He fell into a deep, snoring kind of sleep, tossed into sweet dreams that involved romcoms, Valora Beaumont, and strange centipede-maggots that wouldn't stop acting like cats.

Today was weird, but it was good to be comfortable.
I'm interested.
