Skarsneek of the Red Hills

Atsuha and Hinami answer didn't placate him at all, if anything it heightened his suspicion more as he looked back and forth between the sisters.

I'll have to talk to Hinami later if I can. Skarsneek decided at the end, hopefully, it's just his gut feeling being wrong in this one instance instead of the usual, and horribly accurate, instinct.

"Well, if you say so." He clapped both of his hands together to shift the topic before turning to Tomi the dragon and gestured his head to the sides. "Happy to work with a beautiful and strong dragon, if there's any trouble, we'll be relying on you."

"Alright then, let's head out!" Skarsneek said and made his journey after Takeshi told of their rendevous zone. Taking the lead as he moved ahead of the sisters and blonde dragon, having already memorized the map during the journey in his head.

He did however turned back and looked at all his other teammates before giving them a thumbs up.

@Hammerman, @Rune_Alchemist @Rezod92 @Dark Cloud @Slypheed @Noblebandit

"Don't die, yea?"

And with that, Skarsneek left but not before passing by Gringor and blow him a raspberry.

"You can die."

A snort is all that Gringor replied back before the high orc left for his own journey.

Throughout the journey, Skarsneek maintained a cheery mood as they traveled to their location. Taking in the scenery and beautiful sights occasionally, noting just how scenic it would've been if it wasn't because of the war and the fact that this entire island is populated by people who despise mamonos.

We should be there soon. He hummed as they arrived into a green plateau, though that's when he spotted something from afar. There's the sign of dark billowing smoke, steady, small but numerous.

With a click of his tongue, Skarsneek waved towards his companions to signal them. "Prepare for some trouble."

Moving closer to the estate, the smell of blood, decay and death filled his nose. The worst already coming to mind until he saw some of the conditions that the corpse was left behind. For one, it didn't look like it was the Varjan’s handiwork but rather, the Shizuyama’s own weapons instead.

Civil war? No, perhaps a traitor? Skarsneek surmised as it didn't seem that farfetched. Someone had to be profiteering from the situation after all. It's possible some radicals might have joined forces with the Varjans since Takeshi was willing to at least talk to them, Varjan won't even give that sort of courtesy.

In that moment of contemplation, a shadow briefly fell over him and before Skarsneek could process what happened, a new presence made itself known by kicking Tomi away before landing right behind Hinami.

Before she finished her words, Skarsneek had both of his clubs assembled as one and pointed them toward the intruder like a spear.

"Takeshi sent us since he couldn't come, and he's still dressed as a miko." He recited quickly before snarling past his clenched teeth. "So step away from her, now."

Gringor of the Ironhide Tribe

Moving around the island, Gringor strode through his destination with a crude map in hand. It wasn't the most accurate but it had enough landmarks for him to figure things out.

Eyes wandered around even as his mind wrapped around the situation their in now that he was alone with no one else. The enemy had plentiful supplies, a larger army, reserves, weapons, and elites available. The odd was highly against them, the only thing working for them was the geographical knowledge but that's if the locals decide to share with them.

Sure, it will be a good fight but it's also not fun losing and orcs don't lose. They can't afford to.

Brushing his hair, Gringor only sighed. Working with humans that don't like them was going to be a pain.

Approaching the temple, he could see from afar that something didn't mixed. The temple walls, stone, and design, all of it matched one another.

The spike walls and crude watch towers certainly didn't.

A shift in the winds direction allowed him to pick up a few certain scent in the air and he grin ear to ear.

Varjans.

Sticking and keeping his profile low, Gringor moved stealthily to get a better look at what he's dealing.

Then once he was close enough, it seemed that there was a prisoner being escorted. From the look of his clothes, bald head, and the multiple guards around him, Gringor surmised that the monk must be who they were looking for. Though the temptation of just barging in and destroying the Varjan was tempting, he'll need to get the monk out first since that's their main objective.

He'll have some fun after that but for now, it was time for his job.

Getting closer to the prison escort and into their expected travel path, Gringor stayed hidden as he waited patiently like a hunter. Though it did little to settle the fast, pounding and ferocious heart as a battle of patience waged within his mind. One urging to go in and simply tear them to pieces while the other urged for his prey to get closer so he can focus on nothing but tearing them to pieces.

Once they did, Gringor sprung out from his hiding spot like a Tiger. Brandishing his demon silver axe, he swung it hard enough that it appeared a blur even as it drained the guards of their energy spirit. Another slash brought another down, after five seconds or less, Gringor took down two guards already.

Turning sideways to check onto Nobutada, Gringor lash his axe out to cut the latter's bond to free him before turning his attention back to the Varjans. "Come, let's fight these Varjan's to the death."
@PaulHaynek

Unfortunately, no. I'm just checked out on this rp.

Oh, well that's a shame. It was fun having you though. If you manage to sort out your RL, drop by again.

Skarsneek of the Red Hill

Having the tall dragoness landing next to him, his eyes was drawn towards her immediately. Seeing that amazing body upclose once again, only serve to enflame the goblin's desire. Briefly missing out on her question about his gender.

Though when Atsuha came in, it served as cold water to his train of thoughts and allowed him to quickly shift on other things. He cleared his throat in an attempt to mask his stare.

"Don't worry, I'll definitely keep myself safe." Skarsneek gently pushed her wagging finger but not before entangling it with his own hand for a brief hand-hold. "Wouldn't want to worry the missus now."

At the corner of his eyes however, he noted Hinami...subdued temperament. An oddity itself as he was sure that undead was supposed to be much more upbeat and spying the lack of the paper talisman looking thing in front of her, in place of it was some other form of magic circle.

"Say...is your sister okay?" Skarsneek said in a lower voice and shared a glance with Atsuha before turning it to Hinami. "She's a bit quiet since yesterday."

I did, I made an earlier post stating as such. I like this picture better and think it suits her more

Huh, I must have missed it then. My bad.
@AzureKnight

Posted.

Skarsneek going to Sorae, and Gringor is going for the temple.

I'm cool with that as well. Also, did you change how Atsuha looked? She used to have black hair. Granted, the new one looks pretty nice as well.

For the next day, both Skarsneek and Gringor assembled as they were briefed on the next course of action and possible options available to them.

Skarsneek initially wanted to head towards the so-called ninjas for their information gathering and probable better knowledge of the land but Wyndressa had volunteered for that.

So he opted for other options.

@PaulHaynek

"Sorae's skill with the naginata is fearsome and second to none. She and her clan was summoned to Sanjo Beach, but never appeared. We should head to their estate in the west and find out what happened to them and, if possible, recruit them to rescue my father."

"I'll go for Sorae." Skarsneek said as he poked and brushed the top of his two horns. Perhaps if he can find a way to cover his head, they won't outright mistake him for a mamono. He then turned to Takeshi and asked. "Any of you know where to get those wide straw hats?"

Gringor on the other hand, chose a much simpler option that rouse his interest.

"There's a monastery east of here called Fung Temple.

There's a monk there named Nobutada. He's one of the most sturdiest people I know, able to weather blows that could shatter boulders. When my father called for the monks of Fung Temple, I didn't see Nobutada among them. If he's still alive, he'll be in the monastery and he can lend us his aid."

"I'll go for the temple." Grinning as he wondered if that statement of taking blows capable of shattering boulders was true. If it was, well, it meant he can get serious. And if they want to fight him, who was he to deny them that? "Crack a few heads, and get them to follow us."

"We're supposed to recruit them, not kick their ass." Skarsneek snarkily remarked though it was brushed off by the own high orc retort.

"Don't go skirt-chasing then."

"...Bah, fine, so long he's able to move, just do what you want." Skarsneek threw his hands in resignation though if Atsuha paid attention, Skarsneek didn't deny Gringor words either.
I am just waiting for the new characters to be posted so I can ppst my own characters reaction, in case anyone is waiting for me to post.
My dog bit off my eye, you guys. ;(((((

Oh dear, the eyelids or the literal eye?

Gringor & Skarsneek

"Eh, got me, I was born this way." Skarsneek shrugged his shoulders at that question, cats out of the bag anyway at this point. "Nothing too special, Dad's a retired fighter and mom's an innkeeper. Maybe the Chief God order had a sense of humor, and decided to make male monsters as a middle finger to the Demon Lord."

"But either way, I doubt the Varjans can tell the difference between me and a regular goblin. They'll kill me on principle alone." Skarsneek then glanced to the sides, thinking he really need to get back into practicing in fooling others thinking he was a female goblin. Most of the Red Hill never even knew he was a male aside from his family.

Maybe they knew but didn't care? He had a brief thought on that before shrugging. It might be possible, they're goblins.

As to others wanting them to study? Well, he's always on the move so they hadn't really pinned him down just yet.

"Hey, how a lug like you avoid getting caught?" Skarsneek directed his attention to Gringor, disliking the orc on principal but also looking for a chance to find more information. "You look like you'll fall for the old sleep-slattered meat in the middle of a road and an obvious rope trap."

"I'm fast." Gringor irritably replied at that, having a feeling that the annoying goblin would continue to needle him over everything if he kept quiet and since he can't outright bash Skarsneek noggin in, he'll go with the option that gave him less of a headache. "Some hunters from Demon Lord, some human warriors, and one hero. I beat them all and make them part of my tribe."

"You lead your own tribe?" Skarsneek eyebrows rose at that, he had assumed Gringor just ran away and remain alone. Something that was dispelled with a huff from Gringor.

"Of course, unlike goblin."

That struck a nerve in Skarsneek but if Gringor noticed, he didn't care.

"Also took other orc tribes, Irontusk, Stonebreaker, Pants taker-" Gringor listed a few tribes that took some actual effort from the top of his head. Though honestly, most were just ragtag bunch numbering less than a handful. "Watch over many paths, make people pay when they try to cross, escort them if they do, beat them if they don't."

"But it was boring," Gringor said as he turned his ax and brushed away some dirt from it. "No more fights, and no other hunters come."

"So I made Halua tribe leader and went off."

He also started numerous fights during his random trips to Zipangu and only then did he get his fun first fight but that turned sour when the mamono ogre he was fighting was already drunk. Hardly a challenge.

If Takeshi was listening, he would've noted that there was an incongruency in that Gringor wasn't a human but rather, a male mamono. Something that's outright impossible.
