"The Rebellion Queen calls, heed me, and obey. Dismiss and turn to me, Dusk. Kill in the name of Cecilia, the Rebellion Queen, o' spear that cannot."
”Could’ve handled him.”, Kerry spoke as the man she was facing fell to the ground with a hole in his chest, courtesy of a thrown Dusk, which Cecilia retrieved. Antennae twitching, Kerry tilted her head to the side as an arrow zipped past her ear, turning around and equipping Mort in one fluid motion before throwing the silver spear, impaling the enemy archer to a tree.
”And again…”A simple raising of her hand and Mort slapped back into her hand, the spear tip now coated in blood.
”...you could’ve asked.”"
Asking is not in my nature, dear," Cecilia says, kissing Kerry’s cheek. "
Rebellion Queen and all."
”Ain’t enough to steal my heart. Gotta steal one of my spears. Jerk…”, the hornet muttered with a blush as she twirled her spear with a flourish, pointing it at the enemy.
”Lead this dance, love?”"
Such is what I do best," Cecilia says, leveling Dusk with her target, and flicking the spear forward. "
Tempo, Allegro..." she says, before disappearing, and reappearing within striking range of the thrown spear, "
Invasion," and slammed it through armor, flesh, and bone with her naturally monstrous strength.
”Wind Art:...”Wind currents swirled along the length of Mort.
”...Gale Bolt!”Quick as a whip, Kerry let go of the spear, only to immediately kick it as it fell, launching the weapon at breakneck speed piercing through several Varjans, yet one student was fast enough to dodge the attack and go on the offensive. But the merc was ready for him, flipping backwards to dodge a slash. The student tried for a fast thrust, only for the hornet to spin off to the side and nail him in the back of the head with a roundhouse kick. Head ringing and now enraged, the traitorous swordsman let loose a war cry and went at Kerry with another slash.
Yet, with a smirk, she dodged again, wings buzzing as she jumped high into the air. The student wouldn’t have time to think about…
…because Cecilia was standing a few feet behind where Kerry stood.
Cecilia smirked, as she twirled Dusk like a marching baton, and stepped to the beat; the spear doubling as a staff, as she twisted and twirled; a smash to the arm; a slam to the leg; a break in the ribs; a crack in the shin; bit-by-bit, she pushed the armored man back.
"
Injection."
Ratcheting Dusk in her hands, Cecilia twisted the spear, and trust forward with a short jab that was more of a pile bunker, as the spear punched cleanly through the armor.
"
Encore."
Cecilia ratcheted her grip, and repeated the thrust. Double-tapping was a must when Liches were about.
A Varjan brigand ran toward Cecilia’s back, axe raised high into the air…only for Mort to come zipping back and slammed into his side, shattering parts of his ribcage as his heart was impaled. He died with a wet gurgle as blood flowed out of his mouth.
”Watch your six.”, Kerry commented, flying in low to pull her spear out of the corpse before engaging another enemy.
"
When I have you, my love," Cecilia asks, "
I could not be better protected."
Smirking, she would set her feet and press her muscles, "
Tempo... Prestissimo..." as she set the speed of the beat within, "
Invasion..." and selected the movement of the dance, "
Heavenly Strike..." that cleaves through her tasteless, flatfooted foes.
”Right behind you. Wind Art:...”, the hornet responded, channeling her mana as the wind currents circulated around her body.
”...Heavenly Strike!”Together, the two lovers danced.
Pleased, Cecilia would spin around with Kerry, slicing and slashing, pushing the beat higher and higher, faster and faster, as they became unto themselves, a whirlwind. Attracted to each other, Dusk and Mort would clash in the middle - Kerry’s nature of Wind, of Freedom, and Cecilia’s nature of Fire, of Rebellion, meeting in an earnest unison... creating Lightning, the Spark of Something New.
"
For her, and her future..." Cecilia says, as the burning winds surrounded them. "
I fight. I rebel. I am."
”I’ve finally found the end of my wandering days. I refuse to lose it!”, proclaimed Kerry as the hornet and mad hatter decimated their foes in a tango of wind and flame.
”You can’t stop us!” As if to punctuate the promise, there was a sudden crack of thunder that followed the lightning. Astride their own vows, Eula and Carroll had made their own promise to strive towards a future of their own freedom, their own rebellion.
"
Heh! Seems like everyone’s getting on the same page!" Cecilia says, "
What a frabjous tea party this is!"
”This’ll make for one epic bedtime story, that’s for sure!”, replied Kerry with a wicked grin on her lips.
”Still…you notice anyone missing from this group of fools?”"
Hm," Cecilia asks.
”Just look around. We’re taking out those who use the Heavenly Strike technique, but these are just the students. And where there are students… ”"
There’s teachers..." Cecilia says.
”Yeah. And so far…no one we’ve been fighting is that teacher.”‘"
A problem, true," Cecilia says. "
We’d better regroup before we wear down..."
”I agree.”, replied the hornet.
”We can’t waste anymore energy on these small fry. Something tells me we’re gonna need everyone and everything we have to deal with the master of the Heavenly Strike.”"
Indeed," Cecilia nodded.
As the lovers concluded their dance, their enemies laid on the ground, dead by electrocuting waltz. The pair would join the others in finishing off the rest of the warband, knowing their final opponent awaited them deeper in hostile territory.
