I just can't. This is too much. Berserk was so influential on so many things that I love. Goodbye, Miura. You'll be missed by many.

Bio
Hello! Welcome to my little bio.
Not much to say, really. Just a horror game protag that likes writing and playing vidya games when I'm not being chased by the cosmic forces of darkness. (I'm a security guard that works night shifts usually).
Hmhm, I see nothing wrong here huh. Excellent character, I see nothing that needs to be changed. I think...we're just waiting on potentially two more CS's I think? before I get to picking who I'll be taking.
Alright just an update for those who hadn't seen it:
The Queen was added to the Character tab, and it has also been updated with the three current NPC knights. Hopefully this might give people with some trouble deciding on what to do a bit more direction, but also understand that these are more meant as support for the players so feel free to make your characters a bit stronger.
Hmmhm, a defensive tanky girl with likely fey origins. As discussed, I see no immediate glaring issues. That is to say, she's good. Once all the CS's in we'll see about accepting people properly.
@VitaVitaAR As usual, if you need help or have questions please ask. I'll do what I can~
However, and just a general PSA for everyone else -
I'm going to wait until either a Week from now, or until everyone gets their CS's in before formally accepting anyone as I feel that's a good time for people to finish a CS and so I can review them all formally.
I wanted 4 people originally and have seven interested at the moment. The most I am willing to extend that to is five. I would like to at least give them all a chance to get a CS in before I go adding any more.
I can put you on a list for the future though, in case I need extra players.
Ahem - just a few things. The history is fine - in fact I love it but there is a discrepancy that need to be addressed and its probably my fault for not mentioning it in the OP.
The whole thing with the Queen showing up and claiming ownership of the land and titles is a fairly recent phenomena. Like, a year at most so unfortunately a lot of your backstory there isn't going to be applicable - there could be knights that rescue her, but they can't be from the Queen.
Also, more nitpicky - I noticed mention of the Moonless Era you cheeky little thing. In Albion it's known under something different - a time known as the Endless Night. Not a major change, but I feel it needs to be addressed.
On to the actual abilities - I'll be honest, didn't forsee me having this problem. After mulling it over a bit I think she's a tad bit under-powered for what I'd be going for here. Healing is fine and and of itself, but I feel like you'd spend more time in combat down or recovering from wounds than actually fighting.
Hair, the color of sun. Eyes which reflect nothing but a clear blue sky. A Voice loud as thunder and judgement swift as lightning. If one were to look at this person claiming to be the reincarnation of the Old King, they'd be hard pressed to find any reason to doubt her. Possessing power that can fell Fomorians in single strokes, a charisma that can rile the spirits in even the most downtrodden, there is little question about her abilities and powers. Now whether she is truly the reincarnation of that old king...well, that remains to be seen.
Her attitude certainly, leaves much to be desired sometimes in that area according to some. Boisterous and friendly, the queen prefers getting her hands dirty and being in the front line with everyone else. She will, if given the chance, join her knights on any tasks they might have even if she other things to tend to. She certainly drinks enough to make one question her kingly attire and will often get involved in drinking contests with her knights. That is to say - she does not hold herself to some higher standard than her knights. She lives with them, and treats them no differently than one would anyone else.
However, even then she still carries a certain air of regality and beauty as if someone was looking at a sunrise itself close that it feels like one could touch, yet still so far away.
Her past is not something she speaks of, with the excuse that 'she must look forwards to the future', but take a rest during the hours of dawn and one may just find her gazing longingly over the sea, or watching the sun rise across the mountains with a melancholic, wistful expression as if remembering times long past.
She arrived in Albion roughly a year ago, in a little village by the name of Airedale, saving it from an attack by Fomorians. Since then she has made it her base of operations. She's fortified the town, and has miraculously sanctified the ground - allowing the curse that runs deep within the land to be held off, allowing for more than simple crops to be grown. Many rumors have already drawn a number of people to her side, and she has sought out the notable people of the land, asking simply for alliances and support.
Of course, such things do not come easily and many are not so happy with this unknown woman making claims upon what they see as their land. Yet still, with a hand held out, a gentle smile she asks simply - "Will you join me?"
-Knights of the Realm-
Name: Lugh Gender: male Age: 16
Abilities: While Tuatha magic may run deep and while it seems he isn't very proficient at it as of now, he seems to be naturally gifted with fire and lightning based magics. As well, he can generally sense the presence of otherworldly or magical effects in the area and can sense the corruption of the Betrayed God.
Skilled with most weapons, though not quite possessing the ability of a seasoned knight.
History: A young boy in Queen Sorcha's care. A Tuatha child whose parents were in Airedale when the Fomorians sacked the village. After losing his parents in the attack, she took him under her wing. Possesses a surprisingly sturdy and hardy fortitude for a young man, and has been extensively trained to use all manner of weapons, though favors a spear. A somewhat serious sort and a bit of a romantic that is easily swept up in tales of heroism and knighthood, but tends to get flustered easily, especially when Sorcha and others dote on him.
Name: Elnith Gender: Female Age: 24
Abilities: The curse the fey placed on her is something of a double-edged sword. It gives her monstrous physical ability, being able to match most fomorians in strength blow-for blow, and generally outlast them even in battles of stamina. As well, it also generally makes her mostly immune to other curses of similar types, being able to naturally resist them. However, it also has the rather nasty effect of occasionally causing her to fly into monstrous fits of rage and once the curse as completely run its curse, turn her into something resembling a Fomorian herself.
Her sword, pilfered from the corpse of a fomorian has the ability to 'Always reach its target' That is to say, it possess a rather unique ability to warp space around it so that it is always able to reach that which its wielder attempts to strike so long as its within her line of sight. The armor, while maybe not being the most practical, is of giant make given to her as a gift by some of the giants of Llobrokr after befriending them. It protects the wearer from most magical effects that would cloud the mind or the body and restrains the curse placed on her so its less potent.
History: Elnith has a rather nasty and quite honestly - terrible reputation in the land. Born to some parents whos faces she can't remember, some years ago that she can't exactly recall, in a village that no longer exists. Elnith has not had a happy life for the simple reason that at birth, she was cursed by a Fairy. A curse that would 'Turn her into a beast that slaughtered her own kind'. Needless to say, knowing Fey magic carries real consequences and fearing for their lives...the parents left her in the forest, unwilling to kill her and too cowardly to even attempt raising her. If it hadn't been for a passing hunter that had took pity on a defenseless baby, she'd probably have just died.
Her life from there to now is fairly colored. She spent her days training, figuring that a stronger body could resist the curse. That a strong mind could withstand it - its certainly helped, but there are times when she simply can't help herself and gets lost in the thrill of battle whatever it is. Not to say the rumors that surround her - that she slaughtered entire villages of people, that she's simply a fomorian wearing human skin, and other such things.
Well, all rumors have a kernel of truth to them...
Rather than her finding the queen, the Queen sought her out on rumors of a 'demon knight slaughtering humans' but upon seeing a girl that looked like and as the queen stated 'just needed a hug', she made her an offer. Elnith accepted, elated that someone saw something in her other than some...cursed individual.
Despite her reputation and such, Elnith is surprisingly friendly with people, though often gets into bouts of depression and a bit of self-loathing if left alone for too long, believing that one day she will turn against her fellow knights. Doesn't help sometimes she'll blackout at night, wake up in an entirely different area with only hazy memories of what occurred. She tries to keep a positive outlook, and since meeting the queen she's certainly gained a somewhat more mixed reputation.
Name: Vyrell Menear Gender: Male Age: 20
Abilities: In regards to the Leargas, aside from the combat talent that comes from it, though its heavily diluted and not quite as strong thanks to his human blood, Vyrell seems to have picked up a particular talent for seeing the 'possible path combat can take'. That is, in his words the ability to perceive the multiple results an action can take based on factors known to him and always be able to choose the one with the best possible result for himself in direct combat, or the one with greatest likelihood of success.
Its not perfect, of course. He's only able to take factors he knows of is into account and the results aren't always perfect, and the Leargas can be quite draining on the body.
Aside from this Vyrell's sword was found in a secluded grove, in what appeared to be a small shrine to some now defunct god. While he doesn't know much about it, he's learned that the God was once one of Dreams and Insight. The blade itself doesn't seem to possess much special ability, and he's always looking for information regarding it.
History: Possessing sharp mind, keen intellect, and even keener senses, Vyrell has led a charmed life, perhaps thanks to his Elvish blood. No one in his family can quite remember how far back it was - but they all can claim one thing for certain - they do have elvish blood in them. With a practical mind and a desire to learn and master all forms of combat, Vyrell seeks one thing above all else perfection in the art of battle. In such pursuits, he's studied under the Tuatha, sought out his Elvish cousins within the Forests of Lylmesari - and even studied under a Fomorian who saw potential of some sort in the boy.
As for how he came into the Queens service - having made quite a name for himself in the land, quite a few people were eager to employ him in a way, even the current monarch of Harzelslack, a king that claims Lineage to one of the more famous knights from Myth. Why? He says he was just curious about the queen initially, but upon seeing her, despite her sometimes less than kingly attitudes she has, he was convinced that she was the one who could lead this land.
|The Bandits|
Name:? A young Tuatha man who seems to possess a stronger affinity for physical arts than those of mystical ones. Wields an axe made of Giant Bone and seems to possess some special properties and has some seeming special connection with the beasts of the land.
Name:Cecilia A human woman with darker, tan colored skin with blond hair and emerald green eyes. Seems exceptionally skilled with a bow and arrow and perhaps some sort of wind-magic on her side. A thief of some renown, especially in Harzelslack where she's known to steal from the rich, though its not exclusive to just them. She'd stolen from the Dwarves and Tuatha just as much.
/The Fey\
A mysterious fey of unknown origins. Seems to be hanging around Airedale for some reason.
[The Lightsword Clan]
Oldest son of the Lightsword clan. Possesses extremely skilled swordsmanship and inherited a great deal of his families magical ability.
Second oldest of the Lightsword clan. Not as skilled as Leo, and a bit of a non-serious, womanizer he still holds the family and himself to high standards when it comes to fighting bandits. Perhaps, gets a little too into it at times.
A maid taken in by the lightsword family some years ago. Found sickly and near-death, the half-fomorian was left for dead and would have likely died despite her durability had it not been for the family giving her a place to stay.
<The Fomorians>
A fomorian of unknown origins and ability. Seems fairly powerful.
A fomorian of unknown origins and ability. Seems to be affiliated with the bandits in some way. Has some connection to the Vagabond, though it remains unclear what exactly that connection is.
\Harzelslack/
A taciturn man overseeing Redwater. Something about him seems unsettling.
A somewhat abrasive knight from Harzel
A rather serious knight from Harzel. Highly values the rule of Law. Seems to possess some sort of otherworldly steed by the name of 'Steblas'. Supposedly has fae ancestry.
[The Underworld]
A demon that lives in the underworld, seemingly acting as a sort of guide or perhaps an obstacle for those of the living that finds themselves here. Seems to like jokes about goats and sheep.
As we have seven interested parties, uh, I suppose I can't take everyone. At most, I'll be taking five. Don't be discouraged, though! I'll get to making the OOC and everything prettier and see about getting a discord once I see who all I'll be accepting.
Upon wings of lightning and with voice of thunder Wings of Light, Wings of Dark Bearing hair of sunlight and a soul of purest white Bearing false light and a soul of darkest black The King shall return, to deliver the land form its curse A pretender shall rise to claim the land Beasts of the land shall be slain Humans will be made to kneel The Fey and and their kin will face retribution and redemption Fey and Elf wearing crowns of lies The traitors will have their reckoning Noble knights will be forsaken The land cleansed of its curses The curse will consume all Hail, for the King will return and deliver us Hail, for the king will return to damn us all
Well, without further ado with me being overly dramatic and making a bad attempt at being all mysterious and prophetic out of the way -
1. I have very few, and really, most are guidelines, but If nothing else, read this one. It is likely the most important rule here. In regards to combat - PvE should be simple enough. Against lesser mobs I'll likely let you go ham as you need to and feel free to describe what you do yourself. Against bigger threats though, you do not get to decide whether or not you hit an enemy - or if your attempt at something was successful or not. I do. If you're unsure, just ask. In the case of PvP...which really shouldn't happen here, but on the off chance it does, work it our yourselves or I'll be arbitrator of what happens.
2. I will be attempting to post twice a week for those that have posted. This is not exactly a hard and fast rule, as I won't be keeping any strict deadlines here. Only real rule I have - is post at your earliest convenience. At most I will be willing to wait a week. After that, I'll continue posting as usual whether you post or not. Go long enough, and well, I'll probably start checking for a replacement.
3. Once I make a final decision on something, that's it. I will try to be as fair in things as possible, but if you're not happy with it well...too bad, I guess. If you're unhappy enough to give me grief or constantly question my decision after then either leave yourself or I will eventually eject you from the RP and banish your character to the shadow realm.
That's it really! Anything else just ask!
I'll leave this here from the Int Check for prosperity and easy referencing while people are making CS's
A few notes about characters:
Players will be fairly powerful to start with, and should possess some manner of power from somewhere and while they might have some inhuman ancestry - they for the most part should be human. Aim for a middling power level. They should be able to reasonably handle most non-boss level threats without too much trouble either by themselves or with a companion.
Powers can come from pretty liberal places - is your sword special? Is your armor special? If so, where did they come from and what do they do? Perhaps you have fairy blood that gave you supernatural senses or the ability to control wind. Maybe your family was once in service to an Elder Beast, and were given special abilities by it. Or maybe you're just a really fucking strong dude that can bench press a dragon. I'll be pretty chill with anything, but generally think less mage and more Sorcerer/Knight.
Some world info:
Albion is a sick, cold, unkind land. When the Fey and Elves betrayed the last surviving god to live through the Endless Night, with its final breath and power it cursed both them and the land itself. The land became sick, unable to sustain large scale crops, and the Fey and Elves were twisted into abhorrent beings that seek nothing but to bring pain and further curses to the land. Once upon a time, a king sought to bring justice to the elves and heal the land, but he was betrayed by the one closest to him.
Such tales though, have been lost to the echoes of time. What remains is a wasteland where humans struggle to simply live.
(not a comprehensive list, feel free to ask if you have an idea otherwise)
Humans The main inhabitants of Albion. Numerous, but generally fairly weak by all standards. They often find themselves at the mercy of the dangers of the realm. They generally live scattered across the realm in smaller communities, though there are a few larger settlements that are ruled by those claiming to be Kings or Queens. Some even claim descent from the Old King and his knights. Whether true or not...is up for debate.
Giants Rare in Albion, are the Giants. Impossibly tall humanoids with the strength of twenty men and the ones in Albion have a particular affinity for fire. They tend to be skilled smiths and master workers of metal. Reclusive, and neutral to friendly towards humans. They seem to treat humans often as one might a pet. They tend to live in craggy, mountainous areas where ore is plentiful.
Elves Once created to be the protectors of the Fey, there are very few elves remaining in Albion. Those rare few that escaped the corruption at the hands of the Betrayed Gods curse, fled deep into a forest, never to be seen again. Its well known going into the forest is nearly a death sentence for most humans. They possess an affinity for nature and the ability to use what is known as a 'Leargas' - entering a trance like state where they are able to channel all the skills, knowledge, and strength of their ancestors. Those that have mastered this ability are the fiercest of fighters, able to perform superhuman feats.
Unseelie Fey The fey that were corrupted by the Betrayed Gods curse. None escaped, and were all twisted into dark forms of themselves. They curse others just as they were cursed into terrible monsters. Perhaps there are some who remain who are untwisted, but for the most part, they would not last long in this land. Often seen at night and in the hours of twilight at dusk or dawn. Running into one is almost certain to bring trouble...though on rare occasion one may take liking to a human.
Dwarf Another rare sight in Albion are the Dwarves of Emain. Stalwart seafarers based from an island just of the coast who worship the Sea Goddess Delpithi. That said, they are a raucous bunch, often raiding coasts for supplies and a good fight. The possess a supernatural ability and affinity for water, with the ability to quite literally sing the water to do as they wish. A Sea shanty is more than just something to pass the time with.
Formorian The twisted forms of the elves cursed by the Betrayed God. Their abilities and nature vary far and wide. Some are utterly bestial and savage, seeking nothing but to bring ruin, disease, and more famine to the cursed land. Some are articulate and intelligent. Some have even occasionally helped or procreated with humans, should it suit their purposes - but by far and large, most are utterly miserable creatures that deserve nothing but the swiftest and fastest of deaths.
Tuatha A mysterious race of humanoids bearing a wide range of animalistic features, claiming descent from the Betrayed god and other old deities. They have a wide range of magical abilities that are fairly too innumerable to note. All possess some form of animal features though, and live on Mt. Sliabh. They possess highly mystical abilities and often become advisors to rulers and tend to be staunchly pacifistic unless they must protect themselves - and if they do they may be able to rend the land itself asunder. While they are friendly with humans, they rarely mingle beyond acting as healers or advisors.
On Gods, Elementals, and Spirits:
While you can't play as a full blooded demigod, perhaps you claim some form of divine ancestry in some manner? Or perhaps you possess some relic from one of these divinities that give you superhuman feats. There are many gods that once inhabited Albion, though most are now long gone and only possess a fraction of their former ability and being regulated to little more than spirits and ghosts haunting particular areas. Still, perhaps you somehow gained ones favor and thus boons from it.
Elder Beasts: One of the main threats upon Albion and the rest of the world for humanity - are Elder Beasts. Great, Powerful, and often times terrible beasts that stalk the land and more often than not, end up negatively affecting humanity. Most don't do it intentionally - most do not possess intelligence and seek little more than to do what they were created to. One could say each one is some embodiment of some natural phenomena.
However, as strong as they are, they can be killed. And from their corpses can be crafted the finest of weapons and armor. Mystical in abilities, and world-shattering in power at their greatest height. However, working with such materials usually requires a trained or more mystical hand.
Conversely, some more intelligent Elder Beasts take humans under their wings. Protect them. Teach them - and share a portion of their power with humans. To be sure they don't do this out of love or a desire to actively protect. Most do not understand such concepts - every portion of power they give to a human returns to them when they die. If the human cultivated the power, then it will return much stronger to the Beast. But in a world that is difficult to live in, humans care not for such things if they can live and eat safely.
~Character Sheet~
Name:
Age:
Gender:
Appearance:
Abilities: Please include what your character is capable of, and any supernatural feats they posses be it strength or otherwise. Also where it comes from, and generally how proficient they are in it. Kill an elder beast somehow and made a weapon from it? Given an enchanted sword from a hand sticking out of a lake? Got Fomorian blood in you that gives you some abilities? Feel free to be as creative as you want.
History: Fairly explanatory. Be sure to include what brought you to the Queens service. Did she find you? Did you find her? She's only been around a short time - about a year. Perhaps you were lured in by rumors of her claims. Maybe you fell in awe at the sight of her. Maybe she saved your life.
Anything else: Any dark secrets in your history? Skeletons in your closet? Love affairs with some kings wife that could spell ruin for the entire country? No? Live a little! While you don't have to, don't be afraid to give me something to work with that I could attempt working into some plot somewhere.
