Though, Shango was known as a party boy; a womanizer that loved to eat as much food was set in front of him. James gives off a cocky, devil-may-care, aura at all times. Usually, the kid has a smile on his face or he seems cocky, untouchable. Like not a soul on God's green earth can touch him, and some interpret this as arrogance it seems. However, to James, he takes it as being so sure of himself and confident that he can handle anything that comes his way. Usually, the guy is walking around with his hands in his pocket and has a swagger when he walks. He tries not to seem unapproachable although he has a bit of a resting bitch face and he's tall - what doesn't help is that he opens his mouth and he has a deep voice. James is stated to be the spitting image of his father James Carmicheal Sr. He never saw this similarity but it's unlikely to come up in the story. You'd have to be living under a rock if you couldn't tell that James is African-American, his skin is pretty dark as is. James comes from a family of Liberians and Africa is a bit part of his identity. If you couldn't tell from the sleeve of African-patterns tattooed on his right arm. That's as far as tattoos go, but James has plenty of marks all over his body due to years upon years of painful ass football. In terms of build, James is kind of tall at six one but back in the day, he had a great build. He looked great when he was doing football, but since his football days, he has packed on quite a lot of weight. He has a beer gut and fat all over his body, but he's been trying to lose weight. James has some really broad shoulders and a very strong build, his hands are bulky, and he has strong, sharp, facial features.

James is a very friendly, and kind soul, albeit he has his moments of being overly competitive or cocky. The guy believes that everyone deserves a fair first chance, and maybe a second chance after that. He usually carries himself in a kind, fair, manner and is the kind of person to hold the door open for somebody for a long time. When around friends he's usually loud, busting jokes, and full of energy, just constantly giving off the vibe that he's the big dog. Because he sees himself as the big dog due to his experiences and he's usually the first person to jump up and help somebody or fight them. Though, he can be a bit... fragile, at times. He doesn't like it when other people upstage him even in the slightest and he has a bit of a competitive streak.

"I think I'd stick with Atlanta."

James was born in Atlanta, Georgia... as the results of casual sex between his father and his mother. When she got pregnant, James' father dipped and left her to take care of their son, and it was a rough time for the two of them growing up. Money was tough to come across and she barely had any time to take care of their son James... and once James was seven the two of them ended up moving up to New York so they can live with their grandparents. It was different from Atlanta, but the family made the most of their time in New York. The city that never sleeps was hectic but it was better than living on the streets.

His mother made sure to teach him morals and other positive traits so that he doesn't grow up to be a sociopath or something. Politeness, customs, courtesies, and other such things. Growing up James was pretty popular in school, being a relatively sociable kid. That popularity skyrocketed when James hit high school and after his explosive growth spurt, he joined the High school Football team. His team with the football team was stated to be the highlight of his life, it's where he gained lifelong friends, partied, lost his virginity, etc, etc. Though, he was riding on getting a football scholarship to one of the colleges... and he didn't get it. Which was crushing but eventually his mother talked him into going to a community college. It was cheaper, after all.

It wasn't the best but James got a job at a local Burger King in which he went to after classes and became the manager only because there was nobody else qualified. Life went on for a few years back and forth until was just about to earn his degree... then the Return happened. James didn't exactly realize what happened during the insanity of the Return, but when he was closing up on his shift on Burger King he got into a fight with a coworker... which ended up with James zapping the poor bastard with a bolt of lightning.

James was confused and the whole thing was pinned on faulty wiring in the place... except James had a weird relationship with electricity, and eventually discovered that he could shoot it from his hands along with fire. He realized that he was tougher, stronger, better than ever before... was he an X-Men?

That was when he received that weird letter in the mail and decided to follow this lead.

"Burn."

Fire & Lightning Generation: From James fingertips he can cast bolts of lightning from his fingertips. These bolts of lightning are capable of frying a regular person and giving a God or other mythological being one helluva shock. He can also channel a constant stream of electricity and surround a limb or body part in this powerful electricity. In a similar vein, James can create firestorms from his hands and incinerate his foes, regardless of who they are. It's not as strong as his lightning powers but it's not something to laugh at.

Axe-Summoning: At will Shango can summon his battle axe. All James has to do is stick his hand out and his ax will come flying towards him and using it augments his fire and lightning powers. Only James can use the ax and if anyone else tries to pick up the ax they'll be in... for a shock.

"Hey, what's that?"

Water is generally the bane of James' existence. While he's relativity immune to the effects of his electricity if he's wet or touching water that'll interfere with his ability. The electricity will go into the water as opposed to where he means to channel it, it'll evaporate in time but that can screw with him in a pinch. Water affects his fire the way you'd predict and stops him from creating it in a lot of situations. Now, James' abilities have a limit of around fifteen meters and outside of that, he can't affect it. However, James can summon his ax from anywhere in the world... that doesn't mean it'll instantly get there. Or that somebody can't interrupt it.

So, if I wanted to be reincarnation of Aphrodite, can my character be male, or would I have to be a reincarnation of Eros/Cupid if I wanted a male God of Love?

It is possible for a male God to reincarnate into a female body and vice versa... just don't get weird with it. lol
