Nocturne Part 6

Heidi was finally on her feet and felt able to move. The gun was pointed right at her, but she wasn’t scared. This was a bluff. ‘Kidnapping’, which Heidi was sure this situation was more complicated than, could be talked out of. Shooting a fifteen year old girl? That would be a little harder to justify. She looked Lex dead in the eyes with a raised eyebrow. Was he always this short-sighted or was he just a desperate man putting on a facade?

Uná sat up and pushed herself up from the ground. She helped Heidi to her feet as well. She looked around. “What happened? How did we get here?” Uná winced and covered her ears at the static. “Criminey... talk about a rude awakening.” Uná was shocked at the fact that Lex pointed the gun at Heidi and made his ultimatum. Uná shook her head. “Don’t do this. You prom-”
Lex shook his head. “Promised? I never promised you that I wouldn’t change the rules Red. Besides we need to finish having our conversation. You can end this. Right here. Right now.

Uná narrowed her eyes. “No.”

No? Really? Maybe I have the wrong target then?” Lex turns the gun to Nik and Uná’s eyes go wide. “Ah, there we are Demo. The one who you said was going to save you.

Uná planted her feet. “ENOUGH!!! I’m not going with you!!” Uná’s eyes flashed from full black to normal as a pulse went out from her. It was like thunder without sound. As if a rumble was felt deep in your chest but the sound that normally came with such a rumble was not present. “I’ve had enough of being an object to be fought over!! You others you’re all the same!!” The air became heavy and cold enough to be felt bone deep. It was as if more pressure suddenly coalesced and it became harder to breathe. It was as if Api had increased gravity and Khloe had super cooled the air.
Nocturne Part 1

Kaylee pulled up to the place and got out of the car. She put the keys in her jacket pocket. “You all better be sober enough to deal with this.” She turned and looked over at Elijah rolling her eyes as he opened the back driver side door swaying to his feet. “Last time you get shore leave.”

Elijah grinned and almost fell only to stand back up with a flourish. “Worth it.”

Nathan shook his head and helped Elijah back into the car. “Yeah you’re useless in this state. Just lay down across the backseat alky.”

Elijah turned drunkenly as Nathan attempted to stuff him back into the car. “Fine. Fine. Go save the damsel. But he most likely has the goons from the cars guarding him. Humans most likely. Looks like you might be needing what is in the trunk.”

Nathan turned to Kaylee with a questioning look. Kaylee popped the trunk remotely as Nathan walked around to the back of the car. “Son of a bitch had suits made for all of us.”

Momentarily checking her flesh wound on her right upper arm, she looked at the door. *You can do this* Cleo thought to herself as she tried to pluck up the courage to go into the club after her friends, to be honest she really didn’t know what she was doing. Nope, Nope… Totally can’t do it.* and just as quickly had she made it to the door, beat a guard up, she was running back towards the car.

“Miss! Miss! I totally didn’t just kick a guy in the family jewels.” Cleo made her way over to the trunk where the professor was just opening it. “I may be an incy bit drunk, but…” Glancing at the content of the trunk. “Wait ...What the hell are those?”.

Heidi had decided against leaving by means of the fire escape, barely having the strength to maneuver Uná through the open window. She carried on down the stairwell, onto the club’s dance floor, and towards the entrance. When she got to the front doors, she put Uná down at a place she’d remember, and opened the doors before taking another few seconds to rest. Her body was screaming, and adrenaline was the only thing keeping her upright.

Nik sighed as he pulled up, energy arcing off his body as he cut the engine and got off the bike. He kicked the bike to the side as he began walking up towards the others, shaking his head as his gaze turned towards the trunk, then to the open doorway where Heidi was waiting. He hesitated as his gaze rested on the suits. Damn it. Next time. More important things to focus on now. Nik brisked his pace as he made his way towards Heidi, making sure her eyes were trained on him as he spoke. ”Heidi, where’s Uná ? Is she ok?”

Heidi nodded, out of breath and panting. Se turned back to gesture to the spot where she had left Uná , but stopped before she could say anything once she saw who was behind her.
With the newspaper going in a more wholesome direction, Charity can really come into her own.
I will be dropping Madi to an NPC role, and dropping Gary entirely. So I'll just be playing Gab, Panda and Charity.
@Hey Im Jordan

Timeskip? I forgot what I was doing.
I too would rejoin this (also with less characters)

Charity and Panda would definitely come back.

Nadeko Tayama

After receiving her badge, Nadeko followed Houdini into the shack. This is the part she was the most nervous about; the written test. Nadeko could write, but she used a special apparatus. She'd never tried to write with hands before! Would she be fast enough? Would what she wrote even be readable? Luckily they had a long time for the test, which for other people might be thinking about their answers. Nadeko was already confident in her ability to be a hero and do the right thing, so she'd use that thinking time to write. If she had to think and write, she might be in trouble.

Nadeko took her seat at her assigned desk, then slowly and carefully picked up the pencil with her left hand and held it up so that her right could grip it properly and securely. Then she locked her right hand. Good. She was now ready to go, and awaited being recieved her test. Even better! Half of it was a multiple choice! Nadeko rattled through that section before getting to the part with the long written answers. Here's where it would get tricky.

When it came time, there were still one or two written questions Nadeko hadn't finished. It had required more thought than she had first presumed. However, the answers she had written down her very good answers. Nadeko was clearly used to struggle, being an underdog and needing to be protected, which gave her a strong sense of empathy. She was also very imaginative and clever in thinking up solutions to problems, or battle tactics, using the environment around her. She felt she had done well on the paper despite not finishing it, and thus felt good as she unlocked her hand and the pencil clattered on the desk before rolling off and falling to the floor. Nadeko decided she'd keep her hands on from now on. She'd need to get used to them much more if she were to cope with school life. Nadeko then listened as the practical exercise was described. The enemies would be robots. Nadeko grinned. This couldn't be more perfect for her! She'd make it in for sure!

Katsumi Enoke

Katsumi was so awestruck by the shack having risen from the ground that the next thing she knew the test paper was in front of her. Man, this was just like the stories! It was so cool! However, Katsumi did struggle with the paper. For all her desire to prove she wasn't a villain, her motivations for being a hero were self-centered. She knew right from wrong but had never had to learn self-sacrifice, and had powers that circumvented personal responsibility a lot of the time. If nobody had to get hurt, including herself, wasn't that better than taking a punch for somebody else? Everybody wins. That was the basis of her morality. As such, some of her written answers were dodgy, or she wrote about how she'd use her quirk to circumvent the whole purpose of that question. Nothing she written was outright wrong or villainous, and every action she said she'd take would result in the safety of innocent people and the probable defeat of the bad guys, but just with very little sacrifice or honesty on her part. She finished early, and sat still and tense as she ran down the clock. She was relieved when it was finally time and her paper was collected.

She listened carefully as the practical exercise was described. Katsumi, though she could use her quirk to make herself stronger, wasn't trained in any sort of combat. Fighting the robots would be a last-case scenario for only if she found herself cornered or they were impeding her progress. No, Katsumi would need to focus on saving the civilians in order to score enough points to get a passing mark.Well, anyway, there were 20 minutes to kill. Katsumi looked around, scoping out the competition. How much of a chance did she have. That'swhen she spotted the idol, Izumo Hatsue, and accidentally started staring at her. What was she doing here? Was she trying to be a Hero too?
"Lets go check in."

"I can Rocket Punch! This is so cool!"

...Ok, good. Just testing that they were distinguishable.

Mina's attention was caught by Roy mentioning something that happened in the gym, adding 'sorry you all had to see that.' Now Mina was curious. Exactly what had happened in the gym after she left? She was about to chase this up, but her attention was pulled in another direction. The table started to float. Nobody in this room had a quirk that could do this.

A girl appeared underneath the table. Invisibility? No, that wouldn't explain everything. Just what was this girl's quirk? Intangibility? She loudly announced her prescene, droped the table with a loud band, and tried to start a conversation with them. Urgh. Mina's utter disdain and contempt for this new girl was so icy it could probably freeze breath. This newcomer was almost as obnoxious as the blue haired boy. Aaand as if on cue, he started proving that he could not be outdone in the 'loud and obnoxious' olympics, yelling about ghosts and spirits. She'd been right to avoid him since day one, when he had proclaimed himself 'the main character'. He was Don Quixote levels of deluded.

Another girl entered, and this one, Mina did recognize. She was one of the upperclassmen. Mina didn't remember her name but she had always seemed like she was an authority figure worthy of respect. It made sense, as it one year's time, she would likely be in the Hero industry itself. She mentioned to Dulga that she wanted to talk to all of them. Interesting...

"Tomoe-Chan! Thank god! I was about to look for you!" Hitomi started, before seeing that she was frowning, and frowned too. She waited for Tomoe to tell her what was wrong. As she listened, she was both relieved and saddened. Nothing was seriously wrong, but what was wrong was all her fault. At least she knew what she did wrong, but she was beating herself up about it way too much, and it was painful to see. When she asked if she should leave, Hitomi, sighed and hugged her.

"Oh, Tomoe-chan, don't be so silly! Of course you shouldn't leave!" she reassured her before breaking the hug so she could talk eye to eye. "I may have...overreacted a little bit before, because Acion and I...well, you probably already knew. By the way, we're officially dating now! Since about three minutes ago, but still!"

Nadeko Tayama

Nadeko had gotten up at 4am just to check the mail for this box. She could barely sleep the night before. Partly from knowing that today was the first day of her new school life as a Hero student, and partly because of this box. Gear Girl, Nadeko's idol growing up due to the similarity of their quirk effects, had made a set of intricate mechanical hands that could be operated by minute magnetic forces in specific areas. Upon opening the box, Nadeko would see the hands, ornate and looking like 19th century clockwork trinkets as per Gear Girl's style, but with a coat of metallic red paint to fit in with Nadeko's proposed costume's color palate. The hands themselves were made of brass, but the rim around each wrist was pure iron, as were the tips of the coils inside that allowed her to operate them. Also inside the box was a thick white leather belt, with two patches at the rear that could contain the hands when not in use. There was also a pamphlet at the bottom containing instructions. After removing the hands and the belt, Nadeko picked up the box with her flat stumps and lifted it to tip it upside down and retrieve the pamphlet.

For the better part of two hours, Nadeko reads the instructions, and plays around with the hands. It's new and exciting, but also a little frustrating, as Nadeko wasn't used to using her magnet arms in such a precise way before. An interesting thing about the hans was that they had a locking feature. Pressing down a pin on the side of the hand, you could lock a hand into a specific position so that magnetism wouldn't then affect the hand. Nadeko immediately saw the benefit of this, and opened her window. Very slowly and carefully, she focused on closing each finger individually to make a fist, then aimed her fist out the window and suddenly repulsed the fist. It was sent flying out the window. She suddenly put all her effort into attracting it and the fist flew back and attached itself to her flat stump again. She depressed the pin, and could move the hand again.

"I can Rocket Punch! This is so cool!" she chimed excitedly, before her parents called her to breakfast. The distraction breaking her concentration resulted in both hands falling to the floor. She blushed and put them back on. Keeping the hands on would require a conscious effort to maintain. Over time, she might get used to it, but for now, that must be why she had the belt. When she didn't need her hands, she could just carry them.

At breakfast, she tried to use chopsticks with her new hands, and made a mess. So she admitted that may have been a little too ambitious, and tried to hold a fork instead. When this was also beyong her, she sighed, put her hands away and magnetically stuck the fork to her arm, before twisting it so that she could eat just like she had her whole life; handless.

After breakfast, Nadeko kissed her parents on the cheeks, yelled goodbye and headed out to catch the train.

Katsumi Enoke

Katsumi stepped off the train, smiling shyly to herself and avoiding eye contact. She looked young for her age and her sense of fashion didn't help. Several people on the train had thought she was 12 or 13. She was 15. This was her first day of Hero School. Finally. After a lifetime of being told her quirk was a 'Supervillain quirk'. After hearing people jokingly claim they were jealous, and that if they had her quirk they'd impersonate famous or influential people and use it to get rich or powerful. Kat never wanted that. She was the purest, kindest soul you could meat, or she would be if it weren't for the years of repressed bitterness. Of course she always wanted to help people and do the right thing, but that's not why she was going to Hero School. She was doing this primarily to prove everybody wrong. To prove that she wasn't a villain, but a hero!

Still, that couldn't happen if she couldn't even find the meeting place. There were several other students her age, wondering around aimlessly. She decided not to follow them. She needed a better view of the place. There wasn't a map. A lot of buildings were run down. She found quite a tall one, and went around to it's back door, which was chained and padlocked. She morphed to give herself the body of a strongman, and kicked the door off it's hinges. Then she morphed again to give herself the body of the women's marathon first place winner she saw in T.V. a few weeks ago, and started running up the stairwell. Once she was at the top, she looked out the windows of the foyer, and spotted a big plaza full of teenagers. That would definitely be the place, and she knew its direction now. She started to head down the staircase. After less that five minutes, Katsumi was in the plaza with the rest of the students, with time to spare! She looked around. There were many interesting quirks. One that stuck out was a girl with giant comical rectangular magnets for arms. Katsumi was about to laugh, before she thought about it and realized how awful that must be to live with.
