@shagranoz I love this character but do you know how [ img][ /img] works?
@geminironin The second idea reminds me of Naddy from 100 girlfriends. I think she's literally an English teacher too

The Mundane

Name: Nōno Izumi

Age: 33

Regular Appearance:

Subject: I.T.

Personality: Izumi does not have an excitable demeanour, instead being very casual and understated. She has an understated warmth to her when she talks. She rarely grins or laughs but always makes you feel welcome. She has a dry, cheeky wit that can match that of any troublesome student. Her in-depth knowledge of anime, video games and geek pop culture may also take many of her students by surprise, as her demeanor and style of dress are very demure, modest and unassuming. New students might even think she's going to be a boring and dry teacher the first time they take her class. But her spirit, passion and sincerity wins them all over in the end.

Bio: Izumi was a very bright student who had always been good with computers, owing to her nerdy passions necessating frequent and heavy usage. One of her particularly skilled hobbies was C++. So much so that in college she studied Network Administration for the sole reason that she didn't want to lose the joy of coding by having it be her gruelling day job.

At the age of 23, she graduated from college and went straight into an office job, being the floor I.T. Admin for the sales team of a big company. While not exactly a black company, Japanese workplace culture was rampant in that office. The more people stayed overtime to meet their deadlines, the more overyime she'd have to do becaue if the network went down, people couldn't do their jobs and she wasn't there, there would be hell to pay. And the more overtime became the norm, the more employees would stay, the more work for her.

It was when she was 29 that one of her friends from college wanted to catch up, and they compared lives, that Izumi woke up to what has happening. She wasn't having fun. She'd lost contact with her friends. She only saw her parents on holidays. She had never been on a single date since college. She barely had time for her hobbies anymore including coding, and most of her free time was spent idly scrolling her phone or watching television. 'recharging' was the term she used to justify a life where she was doing nothing constructive. Even at work, she never got thanked. The same problems came up over and over again with no end and people couldn't do their work, the blame was passed to her.

After this revelation, she quit her job and became an I.T. teacher. She has been working as a teacher for four years now and though it's certainly not easier, she finds it far more fulfilling. Just being able to ee the difference you're making, and being appreciated for it has hugely increased the quality of her life. Teaching basic code doesn't even feel like work to her and she relishes the opportunity to talk about it. She may still be called on if there is an I.T. problem in the school itself but she will always be thanked when she resolves the issue.

Other: Her fashion sense outside of school can range from casual t-shirt and jeans, to a more cosmopolitan brown coat, sweater, skirt, boots dark hose combination. Inside school, however, she almost seems to be dressing old on purpose, conforming to the idea of what 'teacher clothes' were when she was a teenager.

The Magical

Transformed Appearance:

Weapon/Equipment/Magic: Izumi's equipment consists of four floating robots, a small tablet, and a visor and earpiece, all powered by her magic. The six robots take both her verbal and typed commands, and can both fire energy blasts as well as create personal forefields. Izumi can adjust their power output to either make their functions stronger, or to let them be used for longer periods of time albeit weaker. They can also work together to combine their beams into stronger ones, or chain their forcefields into a wider network of shields, protecting her or any human-sized target. Her earpiece can let her give commands to her robots as well as make or receive phonecalls. Her visor brings up a HUD display in her field of vision, and can scan or track targets.

The real bread and butter of her arsenal, however, is her tablet which is a magical supercomputer that lets her override the security of any other computer she can connect to the network of, as well as automatically creates a database of any enemy she scans, with any info she has managed to gather. It also lets her issue more complicated, written commands and subroutines to her robots.

Other: Izumi may be able to increase the number or size of the robots, as well as their max power output, as she becomes more accustomed to her transformations and grows in magical power. She will also need to figure most of these abilities out herself.

Lhoren didn't quite know what the melody in the air was at first, but several dancers around her knew all too well. Lhoren felt her blood go cold. Her back was to the approaching Ni-Seraphi, but she looked straight ahead at Sylvia's face as her dance partner looked up in terror, and Lhoren heard every resulting thought of just exactly what Sylvia was seeing. Lhoren tried to make her body turn around, but she couldn't. She was frozen in fear.

"Listen carefully. The Hunting Melody of the Ni-Seraphi is exactly what you are hearing now. This is not a drill. Those monsters are here and will be at our doorstep any moment. Do what you can to prepare. We're initiating ESP. Remember your training. You know what to d--"

Lhoren had been listening intently to the message but there was a sudden rush of air followed by a crashing, and then everything went hazy. The panicked thoughts of the dancers around her falling were overwhelming her senses. She felt the wind rushing past her as she fell but couldn't even figure out which way up she was, or how high. Down was left? Up was north? Lhoren shut her eyes tight, braced for impact, and hoped the fall wouldn't hurt too much or break anything.

When she opened her eyes again, she was safe in Sylvia's arms. Her adreneline was pumping so hard it was making her dizzy, and the screaming thoughts of panic and horror around her were making it hard to concentrate, but she tried to shut it all out for the moment to focus on Sylvia.

"I'm not hurt. I don't think. Just....overwhelmed. Thank you for saving me," she replied, as she held onto Sylvia's shoulder for support as she got back on her own two feet. Sylvia could feel the hand on her shoulder shaking. This time, she genuinely didn't seem to notice any shapeshifting mishap at all. The girl who seemed to constantly see through Sylvia and read her like a book during their dance was now trembling like a leaf with wild, darting dilated eyes that could not seem to settle anywhere.

It was Ana's voice, followed by Leah's, cutting through the cocophany that snapped her out of her haze and brought focus back into her mind. That's right. They all needed to help. But Lhoren didn't have her rapier, and it likely wouldn't do much good against a Ni-Seraphi anyway.

Sylvia moved to join Leah's lines of defenders, and turned back to offer her hand to Lhoren. Lhoren considered carefully whether she was best suited to help, or whether there were other roles that she could be more useful in contributing to, such as rallying, or...

"Those with Recoinscense and Rescue abilities with me! We are going to make a sweep of the school for those who couldn't assist the ball!"

Lhoren turned to look. As well as Leah's lines of defenders, Mrion was calling for those more suited to recon. Lhoren turned back to Sylvia and shook her head.

"I'll only get in the way here. I don't know how I could help fighting against Ni-Seraphi. I'm going to help the Recon team sweep the school. Sylvia, good luck, and please don't get hurt."

Lhoren approached the small group surroinding Myrion, her nerves calming down now she was focused on a mission. Fasha, the Illuminaire for her house, was also there and offering to use her gift to herd people. Lhoren's mind started to explore the possibilites of using her gift in comjuction with Fasha's and how easy that could make rounding up any students unaccounted for.

"I'll help too!" she shouted as she jogged towards them. "I'll be able to find anyone within 20 feet of me even if they're not visible, as long as they're still thinking something."
I am leaning towards the IT teacher, definitely. I know about IT, I love the Kobayashi/A-chan archetype, I like that kind of powerset where you can scream about "power output 70%" during a climactic battle as well as maybe even do some Sailor Mercury stuff on top of the Magilumiere stuff

Yeah, locking in IT
I'm very, very interested. So many ideas that it's hard to pick one;

IT teacher who commands little robot minions who can use forcefields and energy beams (Magilumiere style of Magical Girl)

Gym teacher who is a mucle mommy and her power is just a big stat boost

Soft-spoken ara ara Home Ec teacher with fire powers
Natalie finally managed to make it to the room, after PK had already been beaten, and Jeremy had already stopped Monolith from killing him. Natalie had conflicted feelings. She'd feel a lot safer if PK died today, but she also wanted to hear from PK's own mouth, 'why?'. She approached PK once Monolith had gotten off him, and started tying him up in steel wire created from her left arm, in effect cuffing his body to herself. She looked back up at the other two.

"My bike's back at the hideout so that's out. Where the hell is Oracle? Was she watching us? Does she know where we are? What the hell's she so busy on if we're supposed to be some kind of hero group soon? Does anybody have any modes of transport that...Zen! Can't he fly or something? To be honest, I've never asked what he can and can't do..." Natalie trailed off. They've already been together a week and barring a bunch of small talk, she really didn't know a whole lot about her teammates...

Lhoren Ashdale

Day 1 Time: Evening Weather: Light Rain Location: Harold's Academy, Main Ballroom Participants: Lhoren Ashdale @Silver Carrot, Tessa Vellhart @Mirandae, Sylvia Copeland @LuckyBlackCat

In contrast to Tessa, it was rare to see Lhoren ever really blush upon recieving compliments. However, Tessa's reversal of Loren's own compliment to her had managed to cause Lhoren to forget how to speak a reply as her face was now noticeably red. She listened to Tessa and Sylvia's conversation as she took the opportunity to regain her composure. Beautiful was a far too commonly used word to describe Tessa, as though a dance with Tessa seemed too good to be true, Lhoren was now doubting if she could keep her focus for an entire dance well enough to do justice to her partner, abd give Tessa the first dance she deserved. All eyes would be on them, and that would be a lot of pressure. Lhoren didn't want pressure. She wanted to let her hair down, have fun and enjoy herself.

So, when Tessa brought up the topic of if they'd danced yet, but then professed her wish to talk to the other classmates first, and Sylvia took the opportunity to proactively ask Lhoren to dance, she felt a wierd kind of relief. She smiled at Sylvia, and nodded before speaking to Tessa. "I haven't danced yet but it seems that's about to change. I'll let you go and say hi to everybody else now. I can hear how much you want to catch up with them all."

Lhoren then turned her attention to Sylvia, and smiled at her, her hand outstretched and mouth unmoving while her voice rang out inside Sylvia's head. "As long as I know you're taking it seriously, you don't have to worry. Follow my lead and I'll keep you right."

Whether her bluff about meaning to turn her nose back was a bluff or not, Lhoren gave no reaction or indication that she noticed or suspected a thing. As Lhoren began to lead her towards the dance floor, she heard that Sylvia was thinking about Grumble leaving. By the time Lhoren turned to look herself, there was no sign of the Professor. First the headmistress and now this. What was going on that needed both of them to be absent? Lhoren put a pin in that thought and shelved it. First things first, she wanted to dance.
