"It's good to hear you're doin' well!" the centaur responded cheerfully in her broad Highlands accent. Eilidh had a manner of smiling with her whole face. It wouldn't feel out of place for her tail to be wagging while she talked. Fir the first few weeks, Eilidh had been homesick but once this modern way of living clicked, Eilidh couldn't remember the last time she didn't wear her zest for this life on her sleeve. She was like walking sunshine.

"I haven't actually had breakfast yet, as I don't like to run on a full stomach. But I know, right? There isn't a better start to the morning than exercise on a nice day! Wha-"

Whatever she was about to ask died in her throat as her stomach rumbled and she blushed in mortified embarrasment. She sheepishly tried to laugh it off.

"...I think that's a sign I should go and get breakfast now, hahaha..."

As she trot past him towards the cafeteria, she wished the ground would swallow her up. She hadn't realised how hungry she was. On the way back, she saw a werewolf sit down next to a tree in the distance and demolish and entire steak before transforming into a human and lying down for a nap. Bacon. Eilidh suddenly had a strong appetite for her breakfast to include bacon in it somewhere.

As Eilidh got closer to the Building One entrance where the cafeteria she frequented was located, she saw an unfamiliar fox lady. Eilidh wasmore familiar with her neighbors on the ground floor of Building 2, so most of the residents of the other two buildings were relative strangers. Eilidh always arrived at the cafeteria after the early risers and before the late risers so it was usually on the emptier side by the time she got there.

She wasn't going tosay anything to the fox lady as she was sitting on a bench with her eyes closed, not exactly inviting strangers to talk to her. But, she hadn't noticed that her...very loose robe was riding dangerously low in public. Eilidh didn't swing that way but this lady's impressive cleavage was like a black hole that stole away Eilidh's gaze and focus. Eilidh's chest was not particularly small but she began to feel a little...overshadowed.

"Um, excuse me, miss. Your kimono's slipping a little."

Madison had been having trouble sleeping ever since the festival. Her main contribution had been to give the real Heroes a pre-emptive warning. She could barely take care of some robots, while other Heroes her age beat and apprehended the bad guys and saved the day. Why? Why was Madison struggling to stand out? When she graduated from the academy, everything felt so hopeful. She was on the first step of a promising career. She couldn't just chalk it up to bad luck or a lack of opportunity. She had the opportunity to stand out one week ago ad couldn't rise to the occassion. Something wasn't working. So she'd gotten up at 4:30am to go for a jog, and was now in H.E.R.O. One's gym, working out her issueswith exercise. As always, her mantra was 'try harder'. If she trained until she suffered, that suffering was sure to pay off. She needed to get stronger. She'll never manage to build a career like this...

Her Hero watch blared the emergency alarm. She put down the bar and checked it. A landslide! Nineteen people missing! Madison started sprinting out ofthe gym and towards the garage. This is what she was a Hero for. How dare she be moping about not being famous yet. People's lives were at stake! Her gym clothes weren't dissimilar to her costume, so when she reached her bike, she simply slipped on her domino mask, then her motorbike helmet, revved up and sped out the slipway. She was driving just fast enough that she wouldn't be pulled over by the cops but might trip some cameras.

She arrived at the scene, quickly parked her bike at the side of the road, and rushed over to the affected area. She immediately dove into the first destroyed house she saw, yelling as she searched the wreckage. It was immediately after that where another voice came in through her watch. It was Dahlia. And she was right. Madison's adreneline was running too high. She skipped step one. She made her way out of the building and joined the other Heroes who'd just arrived slightly after her. She approached the emergency services. Another one of the Heroes, a proper adult who Madison admittedly wasn't familiar with, mentioned that he'd sent coin out and that they'd be hovering over houses with living people trapped inside. Madison tookoff in a sprint. It didn't take long for her to find a coin over a pile of rubble Madison wouldn't even have registered as once belonging to a house if she hadn't seen the coin. She extended her arms to wired, ran them over the street lamp for leverage, and then wrapped her wire around the rubble, using her own arms as a winch as she recalled the steel wire back to her body and lifting the debris. A dusty, coughing middle aged man with a mask of blood on his face clambered out, then turned round to help out his wife, who was limping heavily. Madison lowered the heavy rubble back to the ground once the twoof them were clear and helped the woman hobble to the medical tent. The man clearly was using thelast of his strength just to walk alongside them before he passed out in the arms of a medic. Madison turned back out to keep searching.

Lhoris smirked at Faye's question, and replied "You'd be surprised just how many Witches use computers. To me, Excel spreadsheets are a lifesaver. You know how many paper ledgers I used to need to keep track of?"

She was a little saddened she wouldn't have access to the no doubt rare and expensive ingredients stored in the Faith Manor right now, but Michael seemed content to wait until he was back at HQ to receive a tonic, and time seemed to be of the esscence. She followed them to the car. As Lhoris sat in the back seat, she closed her eyes and appeared to be dozing again. Lhoris had done a lot of travelling in her long life. It used to take weeks to complete a single trip. Nowadays it takes hours. To her, humans always seemed to be soimpatient to be doing something during trips. Their lives were too short to take fifteen or more hours to close their eyes and relax a little. They got bored. They needed a more productive and engaging use of their time, so they had to fill the silence. Or make entertainment through games or books. To Lhoris, living like that sounded exhausting.

She opened her eyes when she heard the tone of Amanda's voice. So, the director of the OMR was coming to see them. Lhoris had witness the aging, retirement and,in some cases, passing of the other founding members. Nowadays, a lot of agents don't even know Lhoris herself is a founding member, partly due to her very low rank to be such. Lhoris was a reserve agent who mostly made potions to order. Not even middle-managent let alone a senior operative. Lhoris didn't know who the currect director was by name, as she'd never asked. It didn't affect her job and she'd be living through a lot more of them.

And they were likely fighting a God. That caught Lhoris' attention. She'd never tried to fight a God before. Because it was usually suicide. But this time, they must have a plan. Now she was beginning to understand just why she had been called down here. It wasn't just cleanup and healing. The OMR were going to need to play every card they have in their deck, Lhoris included, to stand a chance.

Eilidh was woken by the sound of her phone's alarm clock, which she tried to ignore for about a minute before groaning. She reached over, checked the time, and switched it off. Back home, she'd always naturally been woken up by natural light leaking through the thin curtains. But this room had modern blinds and Eilidh had quickly come to find that, if left unchecked, she could sleep until almost noon. Thus she had been setting alarms for 8am every day.

She got to her hooves and trotted over to her en suite. Today she was only going to have a human half shower, so she turned on the water and then stuck her human half into the water. She didn't wash her hair today, only her body. Once she finished, she dried off, brushed her teeth, brushed her hair, coat and tail, and threw on a bra, shirt and hoodie. She threw her phone and room key into her fanny pack and slipped it on, before heading out for a jog.

Centaurs needed plenty of exercise, and Eilidh had found plenty of other reasons to start the day off with a run. The routine. The endorphin rush. A healthy start to the day, and a means to stay in shape. Once outside, she broke into a canter, and started a full lap of all three buildings. She was capable of galloping but there wasn't quite enough space for that, and you never knew if there would be another resident walking around the courtyard if you turned the corner.

Which there was right now! She digged her hooves into the earth and ground to a halt in front of Alphonse. She didn't know the Mothman all that well, as he was several floors above her, but she'd seen him here and there and he'd always seemed a nice person if a little quiet and reserved.

"Sorry, almost didn't see you there! Hey, Alphonse. Lovely morning, isn't it? What have you been up to?" she asked cheerfully.
