The Real World, Quiet HiveMind Facility
Toren would hate him for putting his wants first, but right now Maw
Needed to put food into his system, unless Toren was okay with potentially losing his life or losing one of these companions; and he knew that Toren wouldn't like either side of that coin.
It was easiest for him to just get food, then he could clear his head, and then help everyone get out of there. Then they can find Galloes and kill him. Maw would find great pleasure in eating that bastards heart.
Admittedly the famished beast wouldn't mind if they were offered the ability to split from Torens' body, as long as it didn't cause the man any grave or lethal injuries.
Torens body was squishy, sure he could manipulate it if he needed to, but his hide wasn't strong; the clothes slowed him down, and he didn't have his razor sharp claws that cut glass almost like paper.
Maw shook his head as he suddenly zoned in again, everyone was up and about; looking at the map, or the door. Wait, where was-
He paused as he glanced to see Jay finally walk over to the group as the augmented male stare out towards the door. Maw knew the face of someone scheming something, but he wasn't sure
what.
Jay carried Axen over on her shoulder as she was spoken to by Nova. "Axen could definitely give us a hand." She said with a nod, looking to Axen, "You up for that buddy?" She asked. Axen watched everyone but kept his eyes on Toren for a moment before ruffling his metal wings, the 'feathers' sounding like little chimes in the wind.
"Medical supplies are a great idea." Jay said with a nod towards Nick before she moved to take Axen off her arm and moved towards the door. There was mild hesitation, she watched Nick disappear through the door before he returned to offer his jacket. "Axe, head up."
Axen nodded at Jay's words, the silent blade whirring to life before he fluttered up into the ceiling, hidden from view unless properly searched for. He walked along quietly, trying to spot where the robot guards were.
Jay could see what Axen saw through her augmentation, but focusing too much on it hurt her head so she kept the link open but made sure to focus on the real world a bit more.
"Follow." She spoke mentally to Axen, who gave the okay on her command.
Jay followed after everyone else, waiting until last to go as she had Axen looking after their tail. Maw seemed to be eager to get out of the room, Jay could see. The man was definitely
eccentric; she wouldn't call him strange, that would be an insult to herself.
She was strange, Toren seemed to be much...
more. She admittedly didn't know too much of what could
happen if a human came into contact with CDE, and she never knew Stella or knew about what Stella had done, she just assumed that most of the CDE junk happening to humans was the augmentation; the poor girl had no idea how deep she had gotten from this alone.
Once everyone got into the employee room, Jay moved to take a seat in a chair for a moment as everyone seemed to look around. Toren moved into the room almost immediately, trying to stay as quiet as he could be as he headed straight to the fridge. Maw didn't even notice his lips split away slightly; his mouth growing larger than natural for a human as he started to shove the cheese into his mouth. He barely chewed as he swallowed the food down.
"Hey, we might wanna take some with us." Jay added on quietly, Maw almost snapping his head towards her as he closed his mouth, the slit down the middle of his chin slowly closing up. Jay flinched back at the sight of him, moving her hands to her mouth to stop herself yelling.
What the fuck?! What the actual FUCK is this man? That's not normal! She thought to herself, her mind racing as she did so.
Axen stayed in the hallway as others either split up or went into the employee room, he heard the robot move before he hopped along to watch it get close to the door. He narrowed his eyes before he dove down, swooping just in front of the robots vision before fluttering down the hall, hitting his metal claws against the walls as he did so, trying to draw attention away from the direction the humans(And humanoid) was.
