"Oh gosh, what can I say?

I'm the youngest of five kids, and they only guy. My mom and dad really wanted a son and it looks like they lucked up on the fifth try. Well... sort of. I don't think my parents planned for me to be gay. That was a curve ball for them, but they loved me all the same - even if dad was disappointed I didn't want to play football.

Now I don't need to give you guys my whole life story, and quite frankly I don't wanna share it. All you need to know is that I work a little part time job back in Ohio and saved money for weeks so that I could come here.

Why?

Christmas with my family is hell.

Forty fucking people trying to pack into ONE house because they're too cheap to rent a hotel room, then arguing over who can and can't stay there. People sleeping in the bath tub, underneath the dinning room table. At least three fist fights break out. You can bet at least one of them will involve Uncle Danny's drunk redneck ass.

But I don't have to worry about that this year! I'm so glad to be at Second Horizons."

Jaspers past is something that she always tries her hardest not to talk about.

Jasper and her twin brother Tiberius were born into an already failing marriage. Two young people married before they ever really had the chance to know one another, it didn't take long for Marie and Nicholas to realize that their marriage was failing. Despite her husbands cold demeanor, Marie did love him, and in one last, desperate attempt to get her husband to stay - they decided to have a baby. Nicholas wanted one child.One son. Jasper was the surprise - but obviously not a happy one.

In their haste to try and save their marriage, Jaspers parents failed to realize just how much responsibility having children was. Bounced around from Nanny to Nanny during their early childhood, Marie and Nicholas were always focusing on their careers more than their family. When a car crash caused Marie to break her left leg, the woman gave up her modeling career, convinced that it was the end of the world. By the time that her leg was healed, Marie had began to drink heavily and became addicted to the pain pills that the doctor had prescribed her. Being stuck at home with her children made her begin to hate them. One last failed attempt to find a caregiver for his children, Nicholas finally found a nanny named Rosalinda, who took great care of the kids. While she wasn't a replacement for Jaspers parents, she did help the kids in many ways.

Rosalinda is who Jasper has to thank for her ability to play the violin and guitar. She also owes the woman for sheltering her and her brother from their parents arguments.

Obsessed with her own body image, when Jasper hit the age of thirteen, her mother began to hound her over her weight. Beginning to grow into her body shape more now with puberty, Jasper did need new clothes every now and then - but she was by no means overweight. Sadly, Marie didn't look at it the same way.

From the age of thirteen until she was sixteen, Jasper was constantly told that she was fat, overweight, and even ugly. She knew that she would never be a model like her mother, and that didn't bother her. What did bother her, however, was the fact that her mother would do things to make Jasper feel fat. The young woman recalls on multiple occasions where her mother would buy clothes that were to small for her and expect her to be able to fit them. When she couldn't, Jasper was more or less forced to exercise at home, and eat small portions of so called healthy foods. Ty did his best to make his sister feel more valid in her own skin, but he could only do so much. While their mother was mentally and verbally abusive, their father was physically. Ty took the brunt of most of his rages for her.

By the age of fourteen, Jasper had began to develop an eating disorder. She would go days without eating only to gorge herself and ultimately feel guilty and make herself sick. When Marie found out, she was more than sure to let her daughter know that she thought she was a freak.

"If you didn't eat all the time, and actually followed the exercise, it wouldn't be so hard for you to be thin," she would say.

Her mother - to everyone surprise - actually put her daughter into therapy. While it took three years and her mothers eventual death to over come her eating disorder, Jasper was more than grateful for her brother and Rosalinda being there for her in every way that they could be.

Finding a love for cooking after her mothers death, Jasper fount that having curves and indulging yourself wasn't a bad thing at all. Jasper is now proud to say that she is comfortable in her own skin.

As payback for Ty standing up to him, their father has decided to split the twins up for Christmas this year. Thus, Jasper is now as Second Horizons

"This will be my fifth. I started coming to Second Horizons when I was fourteen, all the way until the age of eighteen. The first two years, I only went for the summer retreats. The last two I came here for both winter and summer. I took a break to go to college and start life as an adult. All that fun shit, ya know? Now... now I'm taking some time off. The rest of the family is busy with their lives and for the first time ever - we aren't doing Christmas as a family. So here I am ready to enjoy all of the things Second Horizon has to offer."

► What team color would you like? Do you think you'll get it?

"Blue has always been my home at camp. I'd be shocked if I wasn't sorted there again this year."

"Yes, coming here was my choice."

"Let's see... I've taken lessons here every year they could. I've been snow boarding with friends and family here and there a few times... But yeah. I'll take lessons again. Never hurts to do a refresher course - and maybe the kids seeing a counselor training will make them want to do the same."

"The hot springs. Being in charge of my own cabin. Shit like that."

"Not seeing my family. I know we're all busy and decided to not do family dinner this year, but... I miss those fuckheads."

"Let's start with the good things first.

Mom always said I was energetic. As a kid, I practically bounced off the walls. As an adult, nothing much has changed. I've calmed down a little, and my sentences don't run on as much, but I've been told I give off crackhead vibes - in a good way, of course. I have dad's charm. My brother Nicholas got that too. It must be genetic. I consider myself a compassionate, and caring person. Sometimes I tend to act more like my friends mom than I do an actual friend. Having said that, I'm also very protectiveover the ones I love and care for. My loyalties run super deep, and I'll be the first to admit that sometimes that loyalty does blind me.

I'm a firm believer that everyone deserves a second chance, and that everyone should be who they want to be. I love new experiences; New people, new foods, new places...

Now for the bad.

I'm a competitive person. Sometimes I can be a little aggressive. I like to say sarcastic shit. I'm not a liar, and I'll tell you things exactly as I see them. To top it all off, I'm impulsive. If I want to do something, I'm going to do it, no matter who lies it or who doesn't. Sometimes I don't think about things before I do them. While I'm a smart person, I can be big dumb on occasion."

► Brief history:

Born and raised in Manhattan New York, Fiona is the first born daughter of the tight-nit Salvador-Grey family. The most well behaved child out of the bunch, Fiona is told that she never went through the terrible two's, or really gave her parents any trouble in her early years. Due to her mother being very hands on with her children, Fiona usually spent her days after school in her mothers music studio. It didn't take long for Fiona to fall in love with music, or to want to learn how to play it. She began piano lessons at age five, and violin lessons shortly there after. At age eight, she picked up guitar lessons. At age ten, she switched out piano for learning the drums. The rest of her music lessons carried on until age thirteen.

Being an older sister was nice, though the Twins From Hell could make anyone want to pull their hair out every once in a while. Fiona rarely ever got into any trouble at school, only ever landing herself in detention three times her whole academic career. Her grades never feel below a B+ average in any class. Fiona was just about as close to an exemplary student as you could get.

Once she reached her teenage years, Fiona began to give her parents just a little more trouble than they were used to. Her free spirit and inherited stubbornness lead her to sneak out to parties a fair share of times. While Fiona's version of acting out was essentially the same thing that every other kid did on a normal day, it was unexpected from her. Flirting with attractive people became one of her favorite pastimes, but she made sure to keep up with her studies, as well as family Zumba class.

The family was ecstatic when she received her acceptance letter to her mothers alma mater. Fiona instantly knew upon acceptance and from her mothers stories that Meadow University was the place for her.

After spending the last two years at college, Fiona is taking a small breather and now attending Second Horizons.

Standing against the wall, Christian didn’t really mind the glitter that was getting all over his clothes. It took a lot more to get him in a bad mood than happy dust.

As he stood there, Christian did his best to come up with ways to find out who exactly his tour guide was. Social media was a good start, but what if Cael didn't have social media? What if Cael was a nickname? Pulling his phone from his left pocket, Christian sighed. A Google search was as good of a start as any. Opening up the browser, Christians search was interrupted by a some-what familiar voice.

The voice belonged to none other than Caspian Grey - a familiar and slightly friendly face that Christian knew from Liberty. All in all, Caspian was a quiet guy who appeared to stay to himself. Due to that, he and Christian never really had the chance to bond. But never mind that.

”Yeah dude. No problem. Say, have you --” Christians voice trailed off, lost in thought as he continued to watch students come through the door. ”Have you found your guide person?”

Caspian didn’t have time to respond before their conversation was interrupted by a purple haired boy with delicate features who pronounced himself as Christians guide.

”I… didn’t realize how loud I had said that, but hey man! Nice to meet you,” he responded, reaching his hand to Cael.

As the two of them shook hands, another young man took his opportunity to join the group. Offering Caspian and Christian a rose, causing Chris to laugh.

”Nah man. I’m good. Thanks though. Just not a fan of flowers.”

At that moment, Christian spotted two familiar faces: One belonged to Alina, the other to a blonde vixen standing a bit away with a guy in a mascot costume. The same blonde he had spent nearly all year staring at in class last year. When Liv’s eyes met his for a split second, Christian felt his face turn hot, causing him to be the first one to break their eye contact.

Spike's announcement came over the intercom shortly thereafter, causing Christian to laugh.

”Are all of the announcements around here like that?” he asked Cael, a grin on his face. Taking the green lollipop from Cael, Christian stuck it in his pocket for later. As Christian was getting ready to accept Cael’s invitation for his tour, yet another person joined their party. Resting his chin on Cael’s shoulder, the elf-ish looking boy was sure to let Christian know to ask for help if needed.

”Noted bro. Now Cael… about that tour? Maybe you could show me where my first class is!” he said cheerily.

Billie had spent last like she had most nights these last few weeks - stressed.

The announcement that Rosefell and Liberty were merging had come about two weeks ago, sending Billie into a raging panic. The young woman had heard enough about the rat-infested place to know enough, but her Google search horrified her even more. Rosefell had absolutely nothing to offer, and according to the pictures online they couldn’t even afford to have the building pressure washed. The red bricks were nearly black with dirt and age!

Shitty staff, horrid food, nearly zero press… Oh, this is tragic.

Then there was the fact that instead of having an actual orientation, she was to be led around the school by some stranger named Melissa. Billie had scoffed and rolled her eyes when she read the email, already picturing the image of a perfect bleach blonde fake Barbie in her mind.

Fiona was still away at school. Dad was in Canada shooting a scene, and mom was on a business trip. Then there was Nicholas who had locked Billie out of his room two short days after the announcement of the merge. Billie had slipped notes underneath her twin's door, baked notes into treats for him, threw rocks at his window, and even hid in the back seat of his car to ambush him.

Despite all of this, Billie respected Nicholas’s decision after he had yelled at her enough. She had given her brother all the time in the world - right up until the point she had taken the handle off his door due to Callie disappearing.

Calypso Grey had ghosted her friend without a trace. This had sent Bille into one of her tantrums.

Callie’s social media accounts had been deleted. Messages and calls were no longer going through to her cell. All Billie had was just one last, mysterious, and confusing text.

Billie had sent a simple response.

Love you too.😘 But what?

Sadly, Billie had yet to get a response from Callie. She had the urge to go knock on the door to the Grey Manor, but last time that happened things didn’t go so well.

After waking up to the sound of Nick banging on her door, Billie would look at the clock only to realize that she was running late.

”C’mon Billie. We’re gonna be late!”

With a groan, Billie forced herself to get out from under her warm cocoon of blankets. Once in the bathroom, the young woman brushed and applied all of her daily products to her hair. Normally Billie would stress over what her outfit was going to be for a while. Sadly, she could not afford that luxury today. A simple black romper, black sneakers, and a jacket would have to do. Putting on a few golden accessories and applying her five minute face, Billie was fairly pleased with her appearance.

Riding passenger in Nick’s car, Billie was pleased that her brother had sped just enough so that they were what appeared to be right on time.

Climbing out of the car, Billie couldn’t help but stand there and stare at the horror that was Rosefell High. An old Charger honking the hell out of it’s horn snapped Billie out of her trance, making her realize that she had been in such a rush this morning that she had forgotten to call Rue.

Sitting on the hood of her brother's car, Billie started up Facetime as she waited on her sister-from-another-mister to answer.

Rosefell High.

Christian Barker was probably the only student that was actually looking forward to the merging of Rosefell and Liberty High.

He had already landed himself a spot on the Rosefell High football team, and from what he could tell from practice, Friday night’s game was going to be really good. It was tradition for Christian to throw the victory party after Liberty's first game - and he planned to do the same at Rosefell. Hopefully Rosefell could pull off a win themselves. Low morale sucked for a party.

Christians morning routine had always been simple. Wake up, go jogging for a bit, shower, eat breakfast and then school. A few text messages would be sent here and there. He had to make sure Juno’s anxiety was in check, wish Ellie good luck on her first day, and read up on the group chat for the football team. Social media was full of first day outfit selfies, so Christian only thought it was natural to post his own picture to show off his dad rock band t-shirt and stylishly worn out jeans.

After finishing his routine and saying a few words to his family, Christian was ready to face the day.

The drive to Rosefell took about twenty-five minutes. Upon arriving, Christian did his best to run over anyone while dodging cars and busses as needed. Could poor kids drive?

Apparently not.

Once safely parked, Christian grabbed his things from the car and looked around for any sign of a familiar face. Juno and Emily were at the other side of the parking lot, but they seemed to be preoccupied with the rest of the crowd while some guy honked the hell out of his horn at them.

Shrugging, Christian made his way to the entrance of the school. He was here this morning to meet his guide - someone named Cael - and going inside the school seemed to be the best way to find the person who was supposed to be guiding him.

Once inside, Christian spotted a table covered in those cheesy ’hello my name is’ tags, school maps, and the like. After scribbling his name onto one of the tags in sharpie, Christian pondered on what to do next.

”Say… do any of you guys know where I could find Cael?”

The students behind the table shook their heads, causing Christian to sigh in minor defeat.

How the hell was he supposed to find this Cael person?
