Current I might attempt to make a dungeon crawler RP world... we will see how ambitious I am.

I can tell you. I cried more with the sock in the round style then the DPNs but I have also been considered weird for having a WAY easier time with DPNs than circular ones.

@ ICanBeAnyone; making socks is an adventure for sure. No pattern is the same even if it is similar. Always totally different. Nothing is simple but it's a great experience and so fulfilling when done

I love mind numbing T.V. or background noise while knitting. It's the best.

I suppose that I am a little more social at the moment. Not very much so. I'm getting back into the grooves of my own thing.

I was thinking that the Duke's daughter has learned a bit of the Laws of Sympathy Magic - like calling to like. Spinning straw (or blonde hair - I know what was really going on Rapunzel) into gold, or shaping bits of wax with hair and toenail clippings to make a voodoo doll. Just your plain, ordinary, journeyman level magic. Mind the pinch.

That is a cool idea. Could be fun interacting with someone like that.
I was chatting with Fading Memory a moment ago and remembered something. I attend LARPs, just one in the summer, and they sometimes deal with heavy topics since it's a weird west, horror setting. They have a mechanic built into the game where if a player ever needs to leave a scene, for whatever reason, all they need to do is cover their face with their hand and walk away. The rest of the characters will pretend as if that person was never there and continue on.

It's a great way for players to be able to leave if they are uncomfortable with the current scene (among other things). and I feel like we could implement something similar here where if a topic gets a bit too much for anyone player, they can let the crew know "Hey, I'm taking Character A out of that scene." No questions asked, no need to explain. Just.. I'm taking my character out.

Obviously it's not something to abuse. Trying to get out of a big fight you're losing, etc. But it's an option that we could use for those who don't want to participate in certain scenes/plots.

That is definitely a good idea. It allows people who want to participate in such a plot participate with letting others remove themselves or do something else. With a diverse group, it is always good to have diverse options.

On a side note, I doubt Alfi will expose his mental illnesses and his issues to anyone unless it's a possible one on one situation. He is too reserved in the sense of actually spitting that out to most and would rather not deal with his parents, specifically his father if word gets back to him.

I decided to think about Alfi's backstory. The mental illnesses that could appear in his current life would be anxiety, depression, PTSD, STPD, AvPD (possibly), and an echoist (the opposite of narcissism) problem. Which kind of aligns with his personality, fears, dislikes, and likes already, so all of those will pop up within time.
Hello crew. I wished to read the room and establish some of these good old fashioned social contract boundaries before I got too much further with my character crafting.

I intend to depict capital D Depression with this divine royal princess I’m concocting. It is a subject I am personally close to and involved with and do not wish to discomfort or trigger anyone if I follow through with this. If there are particular boundaries people have with this subject feel free to say so or PM me if you’re not comfortable discussing it openly.

I cannot speak for anyone else, though I am unbothered with tenser/darker topics appearing in the RP or from characters in written-out stories. I know Alfi is going to struggle with his mental health in this story line as well. How much I touch on that? Depends on how the story goes.

I said I'd at least have a wip so here. I need to elaborate on some parts (and I'm sure there will be some questions that will make me realize I need to add in other places too), and I'm kinda vague on some appearance factors (and no portrait yet) because I want to sketch her myself, so bear with me on those as I work them out

If she fears being alone and doesn't like silence. She should love being around Alfi unless he annoys the hell out of her. Either way, if she ever brought up wanting a good hamburger, he would totally showoff his skills as a chef and make her one. With actual cheese because American cheese isn't actual cheese.
I'm so excited for this role-play to happen. I'm just lurking to spot the new characters when they are posted pre-approval and post-approval.
Idk why we’d bother restricting ourselves to dnd schools of magic when this is an Earth fantasy?

There’s plenty of stuff ripe for using.

I don't think the DM is just doing DND schools and such because my character is specialized in healing magic (which technically there is no school for).

I think the DM is just taking aspects of DnD for the system.

... I suppose? LOL

I promise. You won't be disappointed. It's truly very anti-climatic on why I ask.
@HylianRose Can I add eggs to Alpheus's habits with no further explanation till the IC happens?

Hmm, I see what you're saying, but no, I think it's fine to mix countries for the knights. I would think that, on the part of the school, it may be a measure of building relationships between countries in their case? Mostly just trying to avoid backing ourselves into a hole regarding the pairing and what we can and can't do with it.

It could be hilarious if the school pairs countries that feud with noble and knights in hope to make those countries have a little more positive connection in the future.
