Current Say "thanks," when they compliment you and smile. Watch more of what's going on around you instead of staying inside your head. If eye contact's hard, stare at her forehead.

If commissioning an artist isn't possible, could look into using AI and then editing what it puts out. Lots of ppl are salty about AI art so maybe use a disclaimer, but it's an option.

1-liners become impossible if you actually write. What're your characters' 5 senses picking up? What emotions/thoughts do they have as they speak? What body language do they show? No bulli, just fact.

In the AI era, you can only get ghosted if you choose to be.

@ERode Very nice! I do have two things to point out, though. Based on what we can see from this map, for some weird reason Tabata has an offset compass rose on the continent. This means that the Spade Kingdom is less north (despite it being wintery, right?) and more west. It wouldn't necessarily change her backstory that much, I don't think, I just wanted to point it out in case you wanted to specify any locations later on.

Secondly, I'm not so much against her Fear being what it is, but I think it's her reaction or view of it. Fears can be simple things like just "don't wanna die," although I think it's a little better when they're more about insecurities or trauma, but they should be things that actually provoke emotional response in the character. If she were shown a vision of what she fears, all the things she gave up in pursuit of her goal, and could still say "worth" then I feel like it doesn't really mean much?

Let me know your thoughts on it, as other than this I'd basically be fine Accepting.
@Databug As Xaltwind said, Wind and Lightning would be two separate Magic Attributes. Wind is one of the four base elements and lightning is derived from it, but users of wind magic are never seen casting lightning spells and vice versa.

I wouldn't worry about the parameters of the spells being quite so specific. As far as their functions they all seem fine, just with the caveat that if you go with wind, you wouldn't be able to keep the lightning spell and vice versa.

I wouldn't be able to judge the skills accurately until I see the character's history, but just remember our characters shouldn't really be "masters" of most given crafts yet due to their age and inexperience. I'm also a little wary of characters having skills for "manipulation" or "reading intent" or other things like that, because they tend to lean into metagaming if not handled correctly, so of all her current skills the Grifter's Toolkit might need the most tweaking.
@RemramGo ahead and send it to me, feel free to be as in depth as you like with it since I'll likely ask a lot of questions! The side effects sound fine, so all we gotta do now is get the NPC stuff sorted!
@KeroTypically I take things on a case by case basis, so it's not so much that certain attributes would be banned, but rather that I'll do my best to properly critique every submission until I feel satisfied that it's fair. In the case of dual attributes, however, the circumstances that allow those to happen in the first place are either impossibly rare or utterly inhumane, so to those I will give a hard "no."

For Key Magic, I've seen the movie and I'm looking through it on the Wiki right now. Since it does specify that the "grimoire lock" only works on those weaker than the user, and there are some other caveats to its usage, I'd be willing to take a look at a character draft for it. Just be aware that I'd probably be a little stricter on the spell list and whatnot for it.
@Remram I like this character! I do have a few questions/concerns though:
1. Since Mana Skin's a bit more of an advanced technique, be aware that "Touch of Death" is just similar to it; it won't confer the same degree of reinforcement/defense that Mana Skin does until he actually improves to that level.
2. What are Painkiller's mentioned side effects?
3. If you have further ideas for the "corrupt noble/crime boss" in his history, I'd like that to be discussed further via PM, especially if you intend them to hang around him as a companion NPC or something of that nature. I'm not actually sure yet if I'd approve them being part of the royal family, but I like the general idea so it won't be any problem to sort things out!

And unrelated to the approval process, since you mentioned the inn was on a trade route in the Common Realm, would you be opposed to having Tristan recognize him? As blacksmiths, I figure they'd have had to transport their products or raw materials from time to time, so I could see them having stopped in that inn or at the trading post every so often over the years!
How exactly does someone receive their grimoire?
What's the political structure like in this region?
What are devils like in this setting?

Hello and welcome! In Black Clover, a Grimoire is essentially a spellbook that automatically seems to update itself as the user grows and develops their magic. Magic can be used without a Grimoire (think starting a campfire, watering a garden, or telekinetically manipulating small objects for daily life) but in order to use more advanced and powerful spells, the book is seemingly needed to control and channel the Mana.

When every child in the Clover Kingdom (and presumably in other nations of the setting) turns 15, they are able to attend that year's Grimoire Acceptance Ceremony, which takes place inside large Library Towers around the kingdom. So far, it's not known even in canon how the grimoire system came to be, if the books are made by someone, etc. But as spells appear inside them in a runic script, it allows the mage to better use their own magic at a much more powerful level.

The political structure seems to be that of either an absolute or constitutional monarchy. There is a Clover King, who is the head of government; the Magical Parliament, which is the legislative and judicial branch of the kingdom and seems to be run by members of the nobility; then there is the Wizard King, who is to the Clover King what a Shogun would be to a Japanese Emperor, essentially the highest military power of the land. The Wizard King operates as the head of the Magic Knight Squadrons, and directly beneath him are the Captains of the 9 squads.

The Nobility are those who, from olden days, have accumulated both wealth and magic power. Compared to the Commoners (peasants, serfs, etc), they are usually born with more inherent magical ability and, in the canon series, often look down on the commoners who have less. Because this is a "sequel" styled RP, this discrimination has lessened to a degree, but there is still very much a difference in the social classes.

Because your question about Devils requires some things to be revealed that are later in the series, I'm gonna put it in a hider. I tried to give sort of a "generic overview" that doesn't outright reveal any story secrets, but there could still be spoilers.

@Th3King0fChaos Hi, good to have you aboard! Your character himself is pretty much fine, but I wanted to go over some things in regards to his magic. In Black Clover, certain elements of magic are known to be rare and stronger than others. The only known character in the canon series to have Sun Magic is a person related to a powerful royal family. In this RP, there is an NPC I have planned who would also have Sun Magic (you couldn't have known this lol so don't worry about it) who has noble heritage, but his works differently than what you've described for your character so we might need to make sure we're working from the same baseline.

But going back to the part about royal families, if you had any story plans regarding his missing father, or his mother's family lineage, that were going to incorporate that (I didn't want to assume whether or not you were familiar with the canon series), that would be something that should probably be hashed out over PM or something. If he's intended to have been born with such a rare magic affinity out of pure happenstance (which isn't impossible by any means) then you'll need to take into account that without the large reserves of Mana possessed by noble/royal bloodlines, his magic would likely be very draining on him at the start of the game.
Welcome! Hope you enjoy your time on the Guild!
@SilverPaw Yep, Crimson Lion is still led by a member of the Vermillion family, who would've been a fairly fresh Magic Knight himself at the time. Putting her dad there would be a good fit! For the demon subjugation, then, we'll say it was... *rolls dice* The Golden Dawn! Lol, fitting enough.
@SilverPaw The one change I'd like you to make is that, for her magic, I think we should specifically call it Fire Dragon Magic or something along those lines. There are instances in Black Clover of different "types" of Dragons (for instance the "sea god" Leviathan is obviously a water dragon). So leaving it as "Draconic Magic" is a little too open ended for my tastes. Other than that, unless there are other things you'd like to ask about, Solveig is accepted!

Based on the ages you gave, the demon attack that killed her mother would've taken place roughly 11 years ago. 3 of my current Captain NPCs would've been active, though not Captains, at that time, and you say that are father is currently a knight to the present day. Do you have any preferences on which Knight Squadron would've defeated the demon (it could've been a joint effort between multiple knight groups if you'd like), or which squad her father is still part of?
