The Digital World. Always changing and adapting as new species of Digimon are born and the world itself changes. The Olympos XII work in the shadow of the Royal Knights and usually act on their own whims. Their greatest rivals are the Seven Great Demon Lords. Led by Lucemon they want nothing more than what he wants and strive to reach the Human world as he does. After the defeat of the XII the Seven rose to power and were able to rule the Digital world wielding power greater than the Royal Knights could handle but only when they remain together. Now the data from the XII has finally reformatted into Digi-Eggs and each has made the connection that in order to obtain their true forms again they needed to have a human partner. The only problem is the fact that the XII's Digi-Eggs are held within the castle. The Seven know only of small portals opening into their world from the human world but none have the power to hold them open long enough to get to them. Now Lucemon looks from his obsidian castle out over the Digital World wondering why those portals are open as Daemon enters his chamber yelling about the Digi-Eggs suddenly teleporting away. Lucemon whirls around to look over the world again and starts making a connection.
"The XII have found human partners..." he says in a smooth and powerful voice glaring out at the horizon.
James is your average kid. Happy, loves people and some even say brave. Today however would send him on an adventure he would never forget.

"Man as much as my parents want me to be a Lawyer I just don't think I can handle that I'd much rather be a cop like my brother was." he said to his friend Justyn as they started leaving their first period class. He realized then that he had forgotten his cell phone at his desk. "Oh hey I've gotta run back real quick but I'll catch up with you real quick." he said turning back and running toward the class room. When he got to his desk he noticed a small red and white colored device and a laptop. James looked around and nodded. He was at the right desk. He reached down and picked up the device and as he looked at it it began to glow.
"What in the world!" he shouted as he felt himself pulled into the computer. He shouted and screamed for help as a white light enveloped him and he blacked out.

Using his web cam and microphone Danny was chatting with a girl named Bridget over Skype. "Come on, at least give me a hint." The 15 year old girl said. "Nope, I'm not going to tell what I'm making for your birthday." Danny replied in a teasing tone knowing all too well how curious how his girlfriend could be sometimes. "Anyway I am going to grab a snack real quick. Be back soon babe." Not five minutes later he walked back into his bedroom carrying a sandwich. Taking a bite he sat down at his computer. It was at this point that he noticed a strange white device with green grips and a small screen lying on his desk. "What the heck, where did this come from?" Curious he picked it up.

"What are you talking about?" Bridget wanted to know. Not seeing in any harm in showing it, Danny held the device in his out stretched hand in front of his web-cam. The next thing Danny knew he was blinded by a bright light. Screaming Danny got pulled into the computer, leaving his shocked girlfriend the only witness of his bizarre disappearance.

Annaliese never enjoyed home, if she could it call it that. It never really felt like she was more than a servant, even if she was technically adopted as the Kaufmann's daughter. It felt more like they spirited her away from her other home using wily tricks only to make her an indentured servant. She was only free to do as she pleased at school where she was now. The girl was bored but didn't know what to do after school. It was an easy walk from the school to anywhere in the city but her "parents" had eyes most everywhere. "I'll just mess around on the computers in the computer lab." She said to no one in particular.

On her way, she bumped into one of the teachers as the both tried to turn a corner at the same time. It was one of the nice teachers at her school, Klaudia Schultz. "Sorry, Miss Schultz." Annaliese said as she lowered her head to the teacher.

"It's fine." The teacher said with pep in her step. "I'm at fault as well." They started to part separate ways when the teacher said something after bending over. "Anna, I think you dropped something. Looks like a brand of phone I've never seen before. Or maybe it's some sort of old video game?" She pondered aloud as she handed it to Annaliese who accepted it out of curiosity. "Until tomorrow." The teacher said as she walked off to wherever she was going.

Annaliese looked over the device as she walked into the computer room. With the lights off in the room, the black device blended in quite well. "What is this thing?" She asked herself, looking around the computer room for an open computer. They all looked shut down from the efforts of earlier classes when one suddenly lit up. Anna thought it peculiar. It was one of the computers furthest back in the class as well. As she reached it, it was making static like a TV when it couldn't use a channel. Then, it went white and brighter and brighter until Anna couldn't see...

Ryan wandered down the street, dabbing at his busted lip with the front of his shirt. Of course I had to go and turn away from the second guy and get clocked in the face, he thought. I messed them up pretty bad though, so at least they probably won’t be bothering me anymore.

He sighed. If he had wanted to get into a stupid, pointless fight before lunchtime, he would’ve just stayed at school. He pulled out his phone to check the time. It was a cheap, pre-paid phone that he’d bought with some money he’d scrounged together from working a part-time job. Speaking of which, I’ve got to find another one of those, he thought. He hadn’t been making any money since getting fired last week, and his wallet was starting to feel very light. And it wasn’t like his parents were going to give him any money.

It was 11:30. Crap, is it still that early? I mean, I cut after only first period, so I guess that makes sense, but still. He sighed. What was he going to do with the rest of his day?

Screw it, he thought. Might as well just go home. His parents were probably home, but he doubted they’d even notice that he was supposed to be in school. He rounded the corner onto his street, spotting his apartment complex. Within a minute, he was opening the door to Apartment 42B. As expected, dear old Mom and Dad were passed out on the sofa, drunk. Good. That meant he wouldn’t be getting into another fight today.

He walked through the living room to his bedroom. It was a tiny space, with a bed on one side, a desk and chair on the other, a small window, a dresser, and clothes strewn all over the floor. The walls were bare. In fact, the room was hardly personalized at all. Ryan plopped down in the chair at his desk, and looked at his computer. The laptop looked like something out of the Stone Age. He had bought it off of a friend of an acquaintance who was trying to get rid of it. It was a piece of crap and ran slow as hell, but it worked, so it was good enough for him.

He flipped it open and turned it on, but as soon as he did, something caught his eye. Next to the computer, sitting right on his desk, was some kind of strange, white device. He picked it up and looked it over. It almost looked like some kind of weird walkie-talkie or something.

The hell is this doing in my room? he thought. Then, suddenly, his computer screen lit up like crazy, forcing him to shield his eyes. “What the hell?” he exclaimed, just before the light flared up again, filling the room, and he felt as if he was lifted off his feet and was being pulled towards something. He couldn’t help but start screaming as he fell into nothing, no idea where he was or what was happening. Then the world suddenly went dark, and he blacked out.

Beelzebumon was bored most every day ever since defeating the twelve. The only other group that could pose a threat were Royal Knights and even they were not strong enough. There was literally nothing for him to do, sure there was the odd moron who thought they could stand against them. The last thing he did that posed any real challenge was to tame Behemoth.

He was riding Behemoth shooting at random Digimon to show them who the boss was. Even that had become boring but it was still better than listening to Lucemon prattle on about whatever. Sometimes he regrets beating the twelve because without them he had no equal he could fight. On the rare occasion he ponders if he is strong enough to beat Lucemon.

The trademark sounds of a tapping keyboard finally stopped as Mana leaned back in the chair, stretching her arms to the ceiling. She had been writing this essay non-stop for the past two hours, and weariness was beginning to settle in. Behind the word document lay several internet tabs, displaying all kinds of information relevant to her work.
Stifling a yawn, the teenaged student lazily swiveled her chair from side to side, noticing the the school library seemed strangely empty. There was maybe one or two students way in the back, behind the shelves, and she couldn't see the librarian anywhere.

Well, no doubt that her hard work was going to give her top marks, and with it out of the way so early, she could do other things! Like... get more work done early. Hard work was hard.

Well, she could afford a quick break, at least. She reached towards the side of the computer, where she had placed a stack of her books, feeling something strange. With a small frown, she grabbed the small object and held it aloft, nudging her glasses as she studied it. A weird, crimson... Tamagochi toy? Who left it there? She hadn't noticed anyone approaching, Was it forgotten? A weird prank? A gift?

Well... whatever. It wasn't hers, and Mana didn't want it. Moving to set it aside, the screen suddenly lit up, and before she could question how it turned on, the computer's monitor followed suit.
As the light brightened and enveloped her, Mana cried out in surprise, trying to flee, but she disappeared as the light died down.

It was a bright and sunny afternoon. Cadenza Amoré, or Cadence as she preferred to be called, was walking home from schoo. A bunch of guys had politely offered her a car ride, and she turned them down just as politely. She didn't feel comfortable taking a car ride from a guy she didn't know that well. Besides, her house wasn't that far from the school, and she found it somewhat theraputic to walk. It gave her time to think about things... It had been a few months since he died, but Cadence had plenty of time to get over the heartbreak, she still missed him dearly. I wish you could be here now... She thought to herself.

Once Cadence arrived to her house, she dug through her purse, searching for her house key. As she fumbled through her bag, she felt something unfamiliar amongst the contents. She pulled the thing out, and saw some strange pink and white device she had never seen before. The blonde studied the unfamiliar device quizzically. "Well, that's odd... I know I didn't put this in here... Although... I do have to admit, it is kind of cute. Hehe." She threw the gadget back into her bag, found her key, unlocked the door, and went inside.

As soon as she got in, she went upstairs to her room, and turned on the laptop sitting on her desk. She was the first one home, her parents and brothers hadn't returned yet. Cadence decided to browse the web for a bit before getting started on her homework. Before the computer asked for her password, the gadget device in her purse started blinking. As it did the computer screen turned white, and emiited a blinding. The girl constantly clicked her mouse, and typing random buttons on the keyboard in the hopes that she'd stumble onto something that would fix whatever problem she was experiencing. Up until now, her laptop worked just fine. It had never done anything like this before. Her eyes went wide in surprise. "What in the world?!"

Cadence started to scream as the white light suddenly started to envelop her. Then everything got quiet... Just as quickly as it happened, the light died down, and Cadence was nowhere to be seen.

Lucemon slammed his fist into the wall as he watched the beams of light streak across the sky signaling the start of their troubles. "Daemon! Round up the others we have important matters to discuss." he said his eyes turning cold as he turned back toward his room.
James groaned as he began to sit up and stopped feeling a weight on his chest. When he opened his eyes his gaze met that of a small sun-like creature with a little flame on the top of it. James let out a scream and pushed the creature off.
"What the hell is that?!" he asked aloud.
"Well I'm a Digimon thats short for Digital Monster." the small creature said.
"Woah you can talk?"
"All Digimon can talk and my name isn't you its Sunmon and seeing that device in your hand means that you must be my partner." the creature known as Sunmon said in a matter of fact tone.
"So...Sunmon is it? I gotta tell ya I'm not too big on hallucinations so if you could tell me the big life lesson I'm supposed to learn that'd be great." James said with a slight grin as he started looking around the forest he seemed to be in.
"Sorry cant help you all I know is that i wanna get stronger and I think you can do that but first you gotta know how bad it is around here."
"What do you mean?" James asked looking around confused.
"The Seven Great Demon Lords have taken over and we need human hep to beat them....at least that's what everyone tells me." Sunmon said smiling slightly.
"So there's no way for me to get home? Alright alright how am I supposed to help." James said with a sigh looking to the now smiling little creature

The first thing Ryan noticed after he woke up was the splitting headache. He couldn’t tell if he was annoyed or relieved. After all, at least he wasn’t dead.

He groaned as he lifted himself off the ground and scanned his surroundings, at which point he froze in his tracks. He was surrounded by trees and all sorts of strange, tropical plants that he’d never seen before. As in, he was in a freaking jungle. And that was when his eyes fell on the strange thing that had been sitting five feet away from him the whole time he’d been awake.

“Greetings,” it said. “Welcome to the Digital World. My name is Moonmon.” The creature’s body almost looked like a water droplet. It wasn’t like anything that Ryan had ever seen before. He merely stared at “Moonmon” for several seconds, his face completely blank, as if he wasn’t registering a thing she said.

“Uh, well,” Moonmon continued, hesitantly. “You are probably wondering what you’re doing here. You see, a very dangerous group of Digimon known as the Demon Lords have taken control of this world, and we desperately need your help if we are to reclaim it from them, and make this world a safe place to live once more.”

There was still no reaction from Ryan.

“You have every right not to want to involve yourself in a fight that is not yours, and I understand if you do not wish to do so, but I beg you, warrior from another world, please lend me your strength and help us fight– Hey, where are you going?!”

Ryan had turned around and begun to calmly walk away, still paying no heed to the strange creature. By the time Moonmon started hastily bouncing after him, he was already several paces away, and she struggled to try to catch up. “Hey, listen,” the Digimon told the boy. “I know I said that I would understand if you weren't interested, but it's actually very, very, important that you say yes, so if we could maybe talk about this for a minute, that would be much appreciated! Are you even listening to me?!”

Ryan simply kept on walking for several minutes longer, ignoring Moonmon’s attempts to get his attention. Eventually, he wandered into a clearing. Another kid was lying on the ground, and there was another Digimon, this one shaped like some kind of sun-shaped candle, right next to him.

“Alright,” he said to the other boy. “This may be a weird question, but can you see the freakish abomination at my feet, too?”

Moonmon gasped. “How rude!” she exclaimed.

Annaliese woke up. Her head rang a bit. No pain, just noises. After a shake of her head they went away just as they came. "And. . . Where am I?" She asked herself looking around. It was definitely different from the computer lab just before. "This place looks intimidating. . ." She said aloud. It was quite the forest for sure. Of course, this completely contradicts the fact that she was just at her school.

From behind her a small voice called out. "Oh, you're awake."

Annaliese turned around quickly. If nothing, she wasn't expecting anyone to say something. She was expecting a child due to the voice but what was there was, "A puppy?" It looked just like a puppy except a pretty cartoony one if she ever saw one. "Last time I checked, animals didn't talk." She said bit nervously.

"And the last time I checked, people didn't fall out of the sky. Yet, you did right in front of me." The pup said and laughed before dragging a basket to Anna.

"What's this?" Anna asked. It was covered with a cloth.

"Food. I found this sitting around and thought I'd have a picnic." The pup opened it revealing some bread, apples and some other fruit. "Want to share?"

Anna felt her stomach as it growled almost on demand. "I suppose I could." Being the thoughtful girl she was Anna grabbed the cloth and spread it on the ground. "We are having a picnic right?" The area was covered by shade so it made a good spot. The two smiled at each other and Annaliese introduced herself, "My name is Annaliese."

The puppy had a piece of bread in it's mouth already. After eating it quickly it said, "My name is Salamon. As you probably can tell, I'm not a human. I'm a Digimon. A Digital Monster."

Anna looked at Salamon, "Di-gi-mon?" She looked nearby on the ground and found the weird device she had been given by her teacher. "Does this have anything to do with you and Digimon?"

The device's screen started glowing as she pointed it at Salamon. "That, Anna, is called a digivice. It's like the link between the hearts of humans and digimon. I think that might mean we're partners." It smiled up at Anna and continued, "Nice to meet you, partner."

Anna smiled back, "Nice to meet you too, partner." They continued their picnic as Annaliese thought that this would be better than home.

When Danny woke up he woke up he noticed two things. The first being he wasn't in his room anymore second and perhaps more pressing was that there was a fireball with blue eyes and a stitched up mouth floating in front of his face. While this came as quite a shock, he doubted the creature was dangerous, since it hadn't attacked him while he was unconscious.
"You're a human, right?" The fireball asked.
Not knowing how to react to the fact it could talk, Danny decided to just answer as wel ask what it was. "Yes I am and what are you?"
"I am a Digimon called DemiMeramon, and tight now the most important question I have for you is if a Digivice.
"Is that what this is? Danny asked while showing DemiMeramon the white device he found earlier. "My name is Danny BTW."
Upon seeing the device the floating fireball became insanely excited and began bouncing around the place. The fact that he wasn't right in front of Danny's face gave the human a chance to study his surroundings. Apparently he was just outside a jungle.
"I knew it, you're my partner and together with the others we will defeat the Demon Lords." Before Danny had the time to ask DemiMeramon what he meant by all that, the Digimon floated of in the jungle determined to find the other humans and their partners.

Mana liked to think of herself as a logical, rational, reasonable girl. She thought problems through calmly, and never erred in her judgments. Present her with a problem, and she would flawlessly correct it. She could easily deduce the best answer to any scenario.

So running blindly through a forest to escape the small, yellow, blob-like talking creature was naturally the best choice.

Crashing through the flora in her path, Mana very quickly came to a stop behind a large tree, catching her breath. An athlete, she was not.
After catching her breathe, the trembling girl cautiously poked her head around the tree, looking for any signs of pursuit. It didn't seem to have followed her. Great! Now she just had to find out how she got from a school library to... some jungle.
She turned, saw the yellow creature sitting dociley before her, and promptly yelled very loudly, bouncing off of the tree behind her and falling to her knees.

"Okay, I get it, you're a little bit startled," the monster sighed, "But if ya could tone the volume down a little, I got some exposition to throw at ya."

Trembling furiously, and quite unsure of what was going on, Mana simply nodded, and hoped an opening to flee once more would present itself.

The monster introduced itself as Zurumon, and explained to her that she was in another world, the Digital World, specifically. She and Zurumon were supposedly partners that had to fight some evil monsters or something. Coming from... whatever the hell Zurumon was, it sounded quite ludicrous. Hell, her own father could make this sound stupid and childish, and he was the most serious man on the planet.

"So, any questions?" Zurumon concluded his confusing talk. Mana raised her hand, "Well, too bad, they can wait."

"Wait, what?"

Zurumon smirked, "I said the questions can wait! Nah, but seriously, there's other humans dropping in, I thought it'd be easier to gather y'all up, and explain stuff to all of ya at once. More efficient, right?"

Well, it was hard to argue with that, but... "Okay, then... where is everyone else?"

"Dunno. Can't take too long to find 'em, though," Zurumon spoke in a dismissive manner, "you were so busy charging through here like a Monochromon, they all probably heard your sissy screams."

Mana decided that this was not going to be an easy relationship.

For a moment, everything was dark and quiet. The quiet part was interupted by a high pitched feminine voice. "Hey! You dead?" Cadence also felt a poking sensation at her side.

Cadence slowly got up, stretched her arms, and yawned loudly, as she started to stand up. Once she had rose to her feet, she looked around and saw she was in some sort of forest place. Then that voice spoke again. "Yaaay! You're not dead!" Cadence looked to see who was speaking to her, and he saw a small creature that looked like a small, cream colored, puppy. The dog had a gold collar with strange markings engraved into it around her neck. "Hi, I'm Salamon." She said with a smile. "What might your name be?"

Cadence didn't quite know what to make of this, but one thing was certain, this Salamon thing was absolutely adorable. Her eyes widened. "You are just soooooo cute!" She shouted as she grabbed the poor creature, and started squeezing the life out of her. Forgetting that this was a living creature, and not just some squeeze toy.

"Air! I need air!" Salamon shouted. She waved her tiny paws around frantically trying to get free of the girl's grip.

Cadence immediately released Salamon, after being poked by her needles. "Oh... whoopsie! Sorry about that." She smiled sheepishly. The small dog started to catch her breath. "Name's Cadence by the way."

"Hi! I'm looking for someone named Cadenza Amoré. That person is supposed to be my partner."

The blonde girl giggled. "Hehe, that's my name silly! I just like Cadence better. My real name sounds waaaay too fancy. Anyway, what's this about a partner?"

"I'mma Digimon. The two of us are gonna be working together. Do you have a Digivice on ya?"

Cadence raised an eyebrow. "I... don't know... what is that?"

Salamon jumped into Cadence's purple purse and dug around inside, looking for something. "Here it is found it!" The puppy was carrying that strange device Cadence had found earlier. "This is a Digivice. It's supposed to be the link between the hearts of humans and digimon... Or... something like that. I'm not entirely sure. I do know that it's important though! So guard that with your life!" The dog then jumped into her partner's arms. "You can carry me. Just, don't squeeze too hard, K?"

Cadence laughed at how enthusiastic her new partner was. She took the device out of Salamon's mouth, and put it back into her purse. "Alrighty!" She started walking ahead, but didn't have any idea where she was going in this unfamiliar place. "Hey Salamon, where exactly are we?"

"The Jungle Terminal in the Digital World silly." She said that with a giggle, as if that was common knowledge.

"Oh yes of course. How silly of me."

James looked up to see the other guy and the small water droplet looking creature next to him.
"Yeah I see it, you aren't the only one." he said looking to Sunmon.
"I'm James and this is Sunmon. It's nice to meet you." he said standing and reaching into his pocket pulling out the small little device he had found.
"I take it you got one of these too?" he said holding it up to him.

“Wonderful,” Ryan murmured, looking at the bizarre creatures. So then this wasn’t some kind of crazy pipe dream.

“Hello. It’s nice to meet you,” said Moonmon in a friendly, formal tone. “My name is Moonmon, and this is…” She trailed off, looking to Ryan to introduce himself. He simply stared back at her defiantly. After a momentary battle of wills, Ryan eventually gave in. “Ryan,” he stated flatly.

Ryan raised an eyebrow upon seeing the device in James’ hand. So he had one too? Ryan held his own up for James to see. The devices were almost identical except for the coloring. The grips on the sides of James’ device were red, while Ryan’s were white.

“What are these things anyway?” Ryan asked James. However, it was Moonmon who answered.

“They’re called Digivices. That’s how I knew you were my partner.”

“What does it do?” he asked.

Moonmon paused with a confused look on her face. “Well, I don’t exactly … know. I don’t quite remember, it’s just … look, it’s very important, and we absolutely need them!”

“Why?”

“My, you’re just all questions, aren’t you?”

Ryan rolled his eyes. “Have you seen any other people?” he asked James. “The sooner we can figure out what the hell happened and get back to civilization, the better.”

James shook his head.
"Sorry I haven't seen anyone but you but if there are others here my guess would be that they will have one of these too so I guess that we had better head toward the nearest town or something. " he said turning to the two Digimon.
"I don't suppose one of you could lead us to that place could you?" He asked curiously and sighing seeing Sunmonlook disappointed.

Anna finished her picnic with Salamon with some food to spare. She hadn't realized it, but she was pretty hungry. "Thanks for sharing with me." The girl said to the digimon. "But there seems to be some left. I'll shake off the crumbs from the blanket and we can take the rest for later." She did just as she said as Salamon watched.

"Well, maybe there are more humans out there. Then again, it might just be you and me." Salamon chimed in with a happy yip.

Anna laughed a bit and folded the blanket over the food basket and took it under her arms. "I guess we should walk around a bit and find a place." She started in a direction with Salamon following behind. "Oh, it might be a good idea to know where we are and where we're going."

Salamon walked by Anna's side keeping up with it's four legs. "Oh, this is the Jungle Zone, Terminal, whatever word you want to use really." It ran ahead looking a round a bit. "I have no idea where we are heading though."

"So, do you have a home or are you just wandering about." Anna said. "You don't seem like you have a home around here at least. 'I found this picnic basket.'"

Salamon smiled as it looked back at Anna. "Clever girl. Nope, I'm just wandering around here right now. I don't think we met by chance either." The puppy perked up and looked and at somewhere, "Hey, hey, Anna. I see a girl over there." It pointed it's nose in the direction of the girl.

Anna noticed her holding . . . Wait? "Salamon, what are you doing over there?"

"What?" Salamon said with an unbelieving look on it's face. "There are multiples of every digimon. That just happens to be another Salamon."

"I see." Anna said. She contemplated her options before rushing out of the bush. She didn't really know how this older looking girl would act, but she decided intimidation would be a good test. "Stop right there!" She exclaimed, "State your name!"

Salamon rushed out after her and stated her own concerns, "What possessed you to do this!?"

"Questioning her?" Anna replied questioningly.

"Obviously not!" Salamon replied. "That's a demand! Don't you make more friends by being nice?"

Anna's face dropped to a confusion. "Really? I would have never guessed by my impression of my parents. . . Not that they have any friends." A thought popped into her head, Nor do I, I guess. "A-anyways," She said again looking to the other girl, "State your name!"

Not knowing what else to do Danny decided to follow DemiMeramon into the jungle, before he could lose sight of the small fireball. "Hey wait up !"
Immediately afterwards he realized that yelling might have been a bad idea, since he had no idea if there were dangerous creatures around. Bad idea or not it did get DemiMeramon's attention.
"Okay okay I'm waiting." Clearly impatient the Digimon stopped in front of a rather large tree.
Now that his so called partner was no longer moving away, Danny quickly caught up to him. "Listen uhm DemiMaremon right? I can tell you're excited but do you think you can explain among other things what a Digivice is ? And who are these Demon lords anyway?"
Hurt by the fact that his partner didn't even remember his name DemiMeramon none the less decided to answer his questions like he knew he should have in the first place. "First of all it's DemiMeramon. And that Digivice of yours will allow me to change into more powerful forms through Digivolution by somehow connecting our hearts, and no I cant tell you more about it cause that's all I know. The Demon Lords on the other hand are a group of seven exceedingly powerful and evil Digimon who've conquered the Digiworld. Don't ask me why we're ones to fight them though I just know it's something we have to do. And before you ask the Digiworld is apparently created thanks to the computers of your world." After saying all that DemiMeramon once again decided to go and look for the others, while Danny ran after him.

While Zurumon hopped along without a care in the world, Mana followed behind, fighting the urge to run and find a human stranger to help her out. Zurumon didn't seem intent on harming her, but she was having a little trouble trusting the yellow blob with giant, red eyes of doom. At least it was... talkative?

It was blabbering on about a 'Digivice', which was also the thing Mana had found before finding herself in this strange jungle. The item had somehow relocated to her pocket in the meantime, and she was now staring at it quizzically, stumbling over random roots while Zurumon talked about 'Digivolution' and 'Digitude' and 'Digiwhatever'.
"So, to summarise, that digidoodad lets grow bigger, faster, stronger and more handsome," Zurumon concluded cheerfully, "which is where you come on!"

"Come in how?" Mana asked, trying to find some way to make this Digivice function."

"Well, you need to make those digivolutions happen!" the yellow monster pointed out, "so the sooner you can do that, the bet-"

A rustling sound was heard by the duo, making the two freeze. Mana's heart started to quicken its pace, fearing a more hostile monster was on its way, "...wh-what's there?"

Zurumon narrowed its eyes, trying to listen in. There... didn't seem to be heavy footsteps, and there were voices. Two?
Mana crouched beside the little monster, wondering if it was going to be of any use in a battle or anything. Truth be told, she could probably hurt something far more than it.
"Doesn't sound like an enemy..." Zurumon whispered, "But just in case, stay quiet and still..."

Mana simply nodded once, trying to suppress her trembling. Fighting hostile monsters in a strange land was not a thing she wanted to be a part of at the moment, and despite her misgivings, her best bet was to trust Zurumon.
The source of the voices revealed themselves at last, and it was... a boy with red, spiky hair. Before Mana could question this, Zurumon suddenly announced their presence, yelling, "Comrades! Sweet, we're safe!"

Wordlessly, Mana slowly rose to her feet, looking between the boy and his... associate, some weird living fireball. Huh.
"...I can't help but feel like he's way better defended," Mana muttered with a tinge of jealousy, before clearing her friend and saying, "Hey, um... by any chance, you didn't happen to wake up here, did you? Because I want to know why I'm here."

Moonmon shook her head. “There aren’t any humans in the Digital World. Only Digimon,” she explained to the boys. “There should be others who came here at the same time you did, though. They shouldn’t be too far from here.”

The Digital World? Ryan thought. What the hell is this place?

“I guess we’d better just look around for these other people,” Ryan suggested to James. He started walking off into the trees without bothering to hear what James had to say about it. Moonmon looked over, noticed he was gone, and then started hastily bouncing after him.

Ryan didn’t really care about these other people, or whatever Moonmon had been going on about earlier, but he had no idea where he was or how long he’d be there. He figured he’d be less likely to die if he stuck with a group.

“It sounds like you don’t know how we got here either,” he said to James. “What do you remember from before you woke up here? Where did you come from?”

The sooner I get to the bottom of what’s going on, the better.
