Dear lord there's a lot of sign ups... Okay, GM hat time.
Alright, I did mention I was going to be only accepting a few more sign ups at the very most- however, that'll just be until the RP gets off the ground and moving along. I'm going to be pretty selective here. I've decided to base my decision on characters that have powers that are quite different, unique personalities, or some other quirks that I believe would make them interesting.
@KimonoNae is accepted because I like their power, Messenger, and I truly believe it can be a powerful one if developed properly, while at the same time being something that is invaluable. Traps are also interesting to play as well, and I can see them getting into quite some awkward or troublesome situations in Aurora.
@RinFiona Swanhilde is accepted since I'm interested in how someone who is weak physically, and is still somewhat bound to a wheelchair, will interact with Aurora. It'll be a fun experience for us both, I believe. Perhaps I'm just a sucker for injured characters, but it's just something I'd personally like to see; plus their ability can be useful in a variety of ways throughout the RP as well.
@kapuchuChloe, being a curious person and someone who is capable of taking on animal forms, is accepted. I was honestly surprised no one applied an application like this before, since I always considered them fun and enjoyable. Plus, being able to shift in and out of multiple forms will have its perks, being able to commune with the natives of Aurora, along with being an adaptable fighter- although it may be a shock to her as well the first couple of times she tries it out.
You three are free to post as soon as the OP is up, and this'll be the cut off of those who will be starting right away.
Now, I
did mention that I would still be accepting sign ups, for players who would be able to hop in. After a few posts go out (two or three GM posts on my end), and everyone has established a subtle footing, I'll give a post for the following players who, upon doing what I have requested of them, to begin posting. These three will be in a group of their own starting off.
@ShikaruErich is accepted, and I'll have him come in a little later so that he will be able to have made his gun already along with another invention so that he will be capable of defending himself in the upcoming events. Come up with an invention that is reasonable and let me know.
@McmollyI like Shill and her Flicker ability, although I feel like she'll be a bit lackluster if she's meant to be a combatant without some kind of added ability. I would like you to come up with a secondary/passive ability that perhaps would give her a little more... 'kick', per se? Considering if she'll be actively avoiding situations where her main ability would be used, I would like her to have a backup ability.
@malmshodesWhile Jynmi's power is fairly interesting, it just seems a bit strange to me with how they're named in their respective elements... along with not really sitting all that well with me. While I do like the character itself, the powers need to be either tweaked some, explained more thoroughly so I can fully understand it, or limited to just one element.
From what I understand, he can shift between creating vacuums, canceling all movement of people/things, and reversing atomic charges which... can be disastrous if used unwisely.
So, I would like it to be explained more or just changed to something more subtle, or just have it focused on a particular element for now.
The following characters, I believe, will need some more work before I can accept them.
@WhitepulseAarne seems like a decent guy, however I feel like his power is a mix-match of the current characters, some being fighters, craftsmen, and mages. While I'm sure he can be useful in multiple ways, and I can also see him being useful, I kind of fear that he would be severely lacking as a character in whole. What I'm saying is, I feel like he wouldn't be able to 'shine' properly with his current powers compared to everyone else, who either have similar abilities or can fill the role better. While I understand that this is a problem of people applying earlier with similar ideas, I can only say I apologize. :/
I would like you to make a new ability for him, something more unique solely to him so that he will be able to stand on his own along with being able to provide to the group something no one else can. This may change up his backstory, what he brings with him to Aurora, or something else entirely- hence why I'm holding off on accepting this character.
@sMoKeUnfortunately, I cannot accept Netta's Magnetic power.
Magnetism is always something fairly tricky to deal with, and it can always cause various problems... especially in a RP where there are tons of Magnetic foes, such as the Scions, and Dwarven and Gnomish tech. While I do like the ability, it is more of a me being hesitant to let it run wild.
I have an idea of what you're going for, but I think you'll have to explain to me what you really want for me to help out, but nonetheless I think the power would need to be seriously tinkered with, or outright changed for it to be acceptable in my eyes.
This is more of my own problem, more than anything else, and I apologize for that.
These are my final decisions based upon some serious thinking, and none of these choices were easy to make. Sign-Ups for the initial Opening Post are hereby closed.However, I will be still accepting sign ups and dropping players in during appropriate times, since this will be the only RP I will be working on. Sign ups will remain open unless things get outrageous... I may also start looking for Co-GMs to help if I start getting overwhelmed.
